Reflektioner hos nyexaminerade socionomer : ” Vad kan jag egentligen, vad har jag att erbjuda och tillföra”?

The study’s purpose was to investigate how prepared newly graduated social workers perceive themselves for the professional role, what conditions social work education provided and how they handle challenges in their work. Qualitative interviews were conducted with newly graduated social workers. The result has been analyzed by the theories of professional expertise and pragmatism. Results reveal uncertainty and challenges in finding work balance. Specialist knowledge was lacking, and professional sustainability were requested in the education. Personal development during education was valued. The results showed ability to reflect was important to manage the social work and organizational and collegial support was important. The conclusion was that social work education has given new graduates good conditions but hasn´t been able to prepare students in an unpredictable and complex work. Social work expertise is further developed through experience in the workplace. / Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur förberedda nyexaminerade socionomer upplever sig vara för yrkesrollen, vilka förutsättningar socionomutbildningen tillhandahållit och hur yrkesmässiga utmaningar hanteras i arbetet. Kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med nyutexaminerade socionomer inom socialtjänsten. Resultatet analyserades av teorierna professionell expertis och pragmatism. Resultatet visade yrkesmässig osäkerhet och utmaningar med balans i arbetet. Specialistkunskap saknades och inslag av hållbarhet i professionen efterfrågades i utbildningen. Personlig utveckling under utbildningen värderades högt. Vidare visade resultatet vikten av reflektionsförmåga i socialt arbete, samt ett främjande organisatoriskt och kollegialt stöd. Slutsatsen var att socionomutbildningen givit de nyexaminerade goda förutsättningar, men ej kunnat förbereda studenter i ett oförutsägbart och komplext arbete. Expertis inom socialt arbete sker vidare via erfarenhet och fortbildning på arbetsplatsen.

his case study seeks to understand how the college experiences of successful professional musicians can be mapped onto their eventual professional success. Three highly accomplished professional musicians were interviewed about their college experience and musical careers. It was found that participants were highly motivated and had college experiences including collaborative learning, experiential learning, and needs-focused instruction. These conditions all resemble a student-centered learning experience that might be used as a model for effective pedagogical practice. Implications for practice and recommendations for future research are offered.

Individen i tiden - en för alla och alla för mig : En kvalitativ studie om nyexaminerade personalvetares upplevelser kring deras anställningsbarhet och vem som bär ansvaret enligt dem

Denna studie syftade till att undersöka nyexaminerade personalvetares självupplevda anställningsbarhet och få en nyanserad förståelse för vem som bär ansvaret för anställningsbarheten. Studien har utgått från följande tre forskningsfrågor: I vilken utsträckning upplever personalvetare att de är anställningsbara efter avslutad akademisk utbildning? och Vem ansvarar enligt personalvetares upplevelser för deras anställningsbarhet på arbetsplatsen? och Vem bör enligt personalvetare ta ansvar för deras anställningsbarhet? Dessa frågeställningar har besvarats genom en kvalitativ forskningsmetod där semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts med åtta nyexaminerade personalvetare. Datainsamlingen har följts av fenomenologisk databearbetning som mynnat ut i en tematisk analys utifrån de teoretiska utgångspunkterna fenomenologi och anställningsbarhet. Resultaten har visat att majoriteten av de nyexaminerade personalvetarna upplevde sig anställningsbara efter avslutad utbildning, men att de informanter som erhållit arbetslivserfarenhet inom HR-arbete under studietiden upplevde sig anställningsbara i högre utsträckning än de som inte hade praktisk erfarenhet vid examen. Personalvetarnas upplevelser visade sig vara att mindre formella tillfällen främjade deras anställningsbarhet i stor utsträckning, exempelvis genom samtal med kollegor eller närmsta chef. Slutligen delade samtliga informanter upplevelsen att ansvaret för sin anställningsbarhet bör ligga hos de själva, men att i vilken utsträckning en individ kan lyckas göra sig mer anställningsbar både kan begränsas samt möjliggöras av arbetsgivaren. Utifrån resultatet kan det slutligen sägas att det är praktiska erfarenheter som bidrar till den självupplevda anställningsbarheten i störst utsträckning, men att ansvaret för att gagna de erfarenheterna ligger på individnivå idag. Det individuella ansvaret är samtidigt något som upplevdes positivt av personalvetarna vilket kan ses som studiens huvudsakliga bidrag.

Thesis looks at parallel pensum of high school and musical education from the perspective of the teachers and students of Gymnasium and Musical School of Capital City Prague. Apart from the history and the foundation of musical classes, the paper mainly focuses on the research part which brings the teachers' views on for example the cooperation with their colleagues, their opinions on the appropriate school equipment, or what they themselves gained from teaching at the school. The thesis also looks at the school students and graduates. Using a survey, it attempts to find their opinions on the time demands of their studies, what they learnt at the school and how they retrospectively see their experience with it. Furthermore, the paper provides interviews with graduates, teachers and headmasters.

AIM: Proper advisement of students about their programs of study requires knowledge of the applicants and confidence that the recommended curricula will lead to success via graduation and certification. . BACKGROUND: Two important strategies to deliver master of science in nursing (MSN) curricula include online and face-to-face (F2F) formats. . METHOD: A nonexperimental, descriptive study of archival data was used to examine and compare the characteristics of F2F and online MSN applicants, admitted students, and graduates as well as family nurse practitioner (FNP) certification pass rates at one eastern Tennessee college of nursing. Administration and FNP concentrations were studied. . RESULTS: The average applicant grade point average (GPA) was higher for the F2F format but no difference in the average admission GPA was found between formats. The online students had more years of RN experience than the F2F students. . CONCLUSION: No significant difference was found between graduating GPAs or FNP certification pass rates.
