Konstruktion av TV-skåp

Högberg, Roy, Albertsson, Tobias January 2007 (has links)

Accessibility – Investigation and Proposals:Vidöstern 6, Jönköping.

Danielsson, Robbie, Ernst, Christian January 2010 (has links)
In Jönköping the elderly population is currently increasing, and is expected to continue to increase. For this reason has our co-partner, Bostads AB VätterHem, provided us with a mandate to investigate the accessibility in a residential district from 1950s, located at Österängen in Jönköping. The mandate is also to make proposals on possible measures to improve the accessibility. The report is based on the following questions: What level of measure is needed to be done toimprove the accessibility in the residential district? What restrictions and demands are needed to be followed? How will the design of the building be affected? The study is divided into three main parts: apartments, building supplement and outdoor environment. The study has been done at the housing area in different stages where the accessibility has been investigated and compared with the building regulations and accessibility requirements that are needed to be followed today. The building is not supplied with an elevator and for that reason different reference objects in Västervik and Jönköping have been studied to get a better knowledge in different methods to solve the problems with installing an elevatorin an existing building. Literature has been studied in order to get knowledge about buildings from 1950s and to get knowledge about different solutions that could improve accessibility for disabled persons. To get a deeper knowledge in different laws and rules, a buildinginspector at the municipality was contacted. To get quotation of prices, different suppliers and craftsmen were contacted. The investigation results in a program, that has been used as basis to give proposals of making the residential area more accessible for persons with some kind of disability. The proposal is, like the investigation, divided into three parts. The proposal for the apartments is divided in two levels. Level 1 is based on less operations that´s not affecting the floor plan, but still improves better accessibility. Level 2 is based on larger operations, such as moving or demolishing walls within the apartments to obtain bigger spaces and better accessibility. The proposal on measures for the building supplement and outdoor environment includes, among others, installation of an elevator with addition of a new stairwell and complements in the outdoor environment to improve the accessibility. By calculations are the approximated investment costs (2010), for the installation of the elevator and the addition of the stairwell, being set to 1,3 million SEK. The cost of the two levels of operations in one of the apartment with two rooms and kitchen is approximately calculated to 76 000 SEK in level 1, and 90 000 SEK in level 2.

The effect of voluntary exercise, with/without antioxidants, on meal-induced insulin sensitization (MIS) in health and in prediabetes AND The study of cellular signaling pathways associated with MIS in skeletal muscle

Chowdhury, Kawshik K. 23 July 2012 (has links)
Background: The augmented whole body glucose uptake response to insulin during the postprandial state is described as meal-induced sensitization (MIS). MIS occurs when the presence of food in the upper gastrointestinal tract (GIT) activates two feeding signals (activation of hepatic parasympathetic nerves and elevation of hepatic glutathione level), and causes insulin to release hepatic insulin sensitizing substance (HISS), which stimulates glucose uptake in peripheral tissues. The impairment of HISS release results in the absence of meal-induced insulin sensitization (AMIS), causing progression to a cluster of metabolic, vascular, and cardiac dysfunction, which we refer to as components of the AMIS syndrome. Objectives: The objective of my doctoral research was to study the manipulation of the HISS-pathway, in age- and diet-induced AMIS models, with exercise ± antioxidants. Also, in a separate project I studied the signaling pathways involved with the HISS action in skeletal muscle. Methods: The 7-day voluntary running was used as exercise intervention to manipulate the HISS pathway in healthy and prediabetic rats. The interaction of an antioxidant cocktail, SAMEC (S-adenosylmethionine + vitamin E + vitamin C), with the effects of exercise on postprandial insulin response was studied. Moreover, in the signaling studies the insulin and 5'-adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathways were examined to test their possible involvement with the HISS action in skeletal muscle. Results: Voluntary running-wheel exercise for 7 days increases the postprandial glucose uptake response to insulin in health and in prediabetes through enhancement/restoration of HISS action. Supplementation with SAMEC during 7 days of exercise does not either harm or add benefits to the positive effects of exercise on insulin sensitivity. Finally, the signaling studies indicate that HISS increases the rate of glycogen synthesis in muscle through an insulin/AMPK-independent pathway.

Gestational insulin resistance: characterization, modulation and impact

Lovat, Nicole Eleanore Jacqueline 07 January 2015 (has links)
Problem: Gestational obesity and insulin resistance pose a significant threat to the future health of our population. Mothers and children of these metabolically maladaptive pregnancies experience extensive morbidity and mortality. This study characterized postprandial insulin sensitivity in female Sprague Dawley rats at 5-days and 15-days gestation. Based on these findings, a model of gestational obesity was developed using 35% sucrose supplementation (SS). The efficacy of a preventative and a therapeutic intervention at modulating sucrose-induced gestational insulin resistance in Sprague Dawley rats was elucidated. Methods: Insulin sensitivity in the post-prandial state includes insulin-dependent and Hepatic Insulin Sensitizing Substance (HISS)-dependent components, and can be characterized with the Rapid Insulin Sensitivity Test (RIST). HISS is a putative hepatic factor released in the fed-state that selectively increases glucose uptake in skeletal muscle, kidney and heart. In the first phase of this study, the effects of insulin were assessed in pregnant animals (5 and 15-days gestation) and their virgin controls. Groups of 15-day gestation and virgin animals had SS for 8-weeks (with a 2-week recovery), 10-weeks or 22-weeks. Half of all of the 10-week SS animals were treated with either SAMEC (given chronically, containing S-adenosyl-methionine, vitamin C and vitamin E) or BENAC (given once the night before the acute study, containing bethanechol chloride and n-acetyl-l-cysteine). Body weight, weight gained over the gestational period, fat pad mass, post-prandial glycemia, plasma insulin and triglyceride concentrations were measured in all groups. Results: 5-days gestation was associated with preserved direct insulin action and increased HISS-dependent insulin action. 15-days gestation was associated with a mixed insulin resistance: both direct and HISS-dependent insulin action were reduced. SS in these pregnant and virgin rats eliminated HISS-dependent insulin action, associated with hyperinsulinemia, hypertriglyceridemia and obesity. In the SS group given 8-weeks of sucrose (then a 2-week recovery), virgins spontaneously partially recovered HISSdependent insulin action. At 15-days gestation, recovery was complete with reductions in plasma insulin and triglyceride concentrations, and normalization of body weight and fat pad mass. 10-week SS resulted in complete absence of HISS-dependent insulin action, and produced a model of gestational obesity. Prolonged (22-week) SS did not result in hyperglycemia or elevation of plasma insulin concentration above 10-week SS. SAMEC in 10-week SS 15-day pregnant and virgin rats prevented the loss of HISS-dependent insulin action, and normalized plasma insulin and triglyceride concentrations. BENAC given to 10-week SS virgin and 15-day pregnant rats normalized overall insulin responses secondary to restoration of HISS-dependent insulin action. This was accompanied by a reduction (for virgins) and normalization (at 15-days gestation) of plasma insulin and triglyceride concentrations. In 15-day pregnant controls (no sucrose), BENAC increased the HISS-dependent insulin action significantly above baseline and reduced plasma triglycerides and insulin below control levels. Conclusions: These results suggest an explanation for the insulin resistance occurring in pregnancy, whereby HISS may facilitate metabolic adaptation. HISS may represent a pathophysiological missing link in the insulin resistant disorders of pregnancy. These findings substantiate a series of unexplored treatments (including BENAC and SAMEC) for the epidemic of gestational obesity and diabetes in mothers-to-be and the deleterious metabolic programming occurring in the next generation.

Développement et application de méthodes corrélées pour la description de systèmes moléculaires / Development and application of correlated methods for the description of molecular systems

Paulino Neto, Romain 29 September 2014 (has links)
In the last few years, a lot of energy has been put forward in the area of quantum chemistry to develop new methods, or to improve existing methods, that are able to describe very precisely the electronic structure of molecular systems. In this manuscript, a precise overview of such a method (namely the Density Matrix Renormalization Group, DMRG method) is given. A software able to carry out DMRG calculations has indeed been developed from scratch in the laboratory during this thesis. This method can be seen as a post-Hartree-Fock method, in which only the electronic states that are relevant for the correct description of the molecule are kept. In this way, the computational cost remains acceptable, and the results are in line with those given by "exact" methods such as full-CI. Density Functional Theory (DFT) has also been investigated in this work. DFT and TD-DFT calculations have indeed also been carried out. The performances of two middle-range-separated functionals, namely HISS-A and HISS-B, to describe electronic transitions in conjugated molecules have been probed in a theory vs. theory study. Those functionals, which had been first developed for the study of metals, show to be adequate for the correct description of electronic excitations of chromophores and of push-pull molecules. Optical properties of a dual emittor have also been studied using TD-DFT. The dual emission of this molecule has been shown to stem from the presence of two distinct emissive states, respectively of Intramolecular Charge Transfer (ICT) and locally excited (LE) nature. TD-DFT has allowed us to link those two emissive states to two different conformations of the molecule.

Maskininlärning som möjligt planeringsverktyg för mindre serviceföretag : En studie i maskininlärning för verksamhetsplanering inom hissbranschen hos fallstudieföretaget S:t Eriks Hiss AB / Machine Learning as a complementary planning tool for SME’s in the maintenance industry : A study of machine learning for operational planning within the elevator sector at S:t Eriks Hiss AB

Assarsson, Fabian, Kjellin, Gustav January 2016 (has links)
In this report we show that Machine Learning algorithms from readily available libraries can be useful tools when analyzing company data. We suggest a new metric for analyzing the frequency of unplanned maintenance calls with an elevator maintenance case study, and also provide the company in question, S:t Eriks Hiss, with a K-Means clustered suggestion of geographical customer partitioning. We provide a brief discussion on whether the results from Anderson et al (2009) and Blakeley et al. (2003) could provide an analytical framework for companies in the urban maintenance industry. A weak negative correlation between profitability and our suggested metric indicate that so is the case and makes for interesting further enquiry.

End of line test : En studie av företaget Emotrons linjetestning i produktionen

Svendsen, Toni January 2008 (has links)

Emotron is a company specialised in developing, producing and marketing equipment to con-trol, monitor and protect processes and machinery driven by electric motors, with an applica-tion focus. Examples of uses for their products are fans, pumps, lifts and cranes.

The project is to look at Emotrons end of line test. The company has seen that at the final test-ing there is a bottleneck that restricts the outflow and prevents an increase in the number of tested products.

The purpose of this project is to review how Emotrons end-of-line test works today and if there is a possibility to make the test more efficient in such a way that the quality is not at risk, while increasing the outflow of tested products.

The projects first step is to look at and analyse what is causing the bottleneck at the end-of-line. When the analysis is complete, the next step is to review whether there is a possibility to solve the bottleneck and if so in what way can this be done. Emotrons most overall objective of the project is to increase the outflow of the number of tested products without jeopardizing the quality.

An analysis has been made on frequency inverters, soft starters and shaft power monitors. Fail reports for the year 2007 have been reviewed. Faults that have been detected have been sub-mitted by type and size. The testing has been divided into various phases of error. A time pre-cision has been established to show the time of the test stages. The distinction has been made to provide a picture of where and when errors occur during the testing.

A logging test has been carried out on the largest frequency inverter types to determine the characteristics of frequency inverters when tested with load by today's test method. It has also carried out a logging test with an artificial load. An analysis is made on a test machine that is under construction, which today is called PEBB test.

The conclusions to be drawn from the analyses and tests carried out, in order to meet the company's objectives, and answer the project's problem is that it is possible to make the end of line test more efficient. The end of line test can be more efficient by combining the strength of the PEBB test, which is its measurement equipment, with the artificial load method where the frequency inverter is tested as it is expected to serve at the final customer. This can in-crease the outflow of tested products and maintain Emotrons requirements for quality.
