Den blomstertid nu kommer? : Psykoterapeuters syn på arbetet med patienter som har upplevt kristet religiöst förtryck i kristen hederskultur / Psychotherapists' views on working with patients who have experienced Christian religious oppression in Christian honor culture

Lundström, Erik January 2023 (has links)

How long can she live a double-life? : A qualitative study on women's identity creation in relation to acculturation and culture of honor

Kusay Shaker, Lilian January 2023 (has links)
Honor culture is a complex and deeply-rooted phenomenon that affects individuals in various ways. This social psychological study utilized theories of acculturation, social influence, social norms, power structures, and social learning to understand how honor culture affects identity formation in women. The aim of the study was to explore women's identity formation in the context of honor culture and oppression between two sociocultural worlds. A social psychological approach was used to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon. Through the use of qualitative methods and thematic analysis, this study captured the complex and deeply-rooted experiences of honorculture and its impact on individual identity. The sample consisted of six women who were interviewed, and their experiences were compared with a self-biography of a woman with a background in honor culture. The results showed that all six respondents in the study shared similar feelings and experiences related to honor culture and Swedish culture. The results provide important information that can be used to create a better understanding of honor culture and its effects on individuals, as well as to develop effective interventions and support structures for individuals in similar situations.

Ali, Shadan January 2020 (has links)
The essay is a qualitative study based on interviews with school curators and a student coach who in various ways in their work come into contact with girls who live in an honor culture. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the Swedish school treats girls who in one way or another live in an honor culture and how the schools work with honor issues. The research question that has formed the basis of the study was the following: How does the Swedish school respond to honor culture? The results are analyzed based on the previously presented research, Al-Baldawi's theory of the individual-centered and group-centered way of thinking, and Hylland-Eriksen's theory of the creation of a “we” and “they”. The results show that honor culture occurs within the Swedish school and is given more attention, partly because professionals have more knowledge and experience on the subject but also because the interest has increased from different quarters to investigate the phenomenon. However, all respondents agree that more and different kinds of efforts are still needed to give the girls support and help, but above all to work for prevention.

Det gör ont när mödomshinnor brister : En studie över gestaltningsramar om hymen i svensk tryckt press / It hurts when hymens are breaking : a study on descriptions of the hymen in Swedish printed press

Nolskog, Cajsa January 2018 (has links)
This essay uses frame analysis to study changes in the descriptions of the hymen in Swedish printed press from 1989-2015. The study shows that the traditional story about the hymen has significant power in the dominant culture and affects the idea of what the hymen is and what is believed to be its functions. The study also showcases how our ideas about the hymen are socially constructed since the descriptions can shift widely but still be considered as the truth. The concept of the hymen has gone through a change over time, from a story of a hymen that breaks during first intercourse, to the hymen being a myth that doesn’t exist at all, to then emerge into the idea of the vaginal corona – another version of a hymen that is different from the traditional image. The study also shows that the traditional frame for describing the hymen does live on, and that the vaginal corona has not replaced the idea of the traditional hymen.
