This study uses the case study method to investigate how a start-up company in industrial PC ODM field makes the product line decision when the outcome does not meet the expectation on funding. Since the company A corp. which was formly a software company in Netword Attached Storage field merged a communication appliance business unit from a industrial PC manufactoror, it was expected to leverage the resources of both joint venture parties to create synergy in competing with the existing competitors. It is two years after funding the management is about to review the product lines ¡V hardware manufacture and storage system, to make the go/no go decision on the storage system product line. Regarding to the business factor, the case is described in terms of value propostion, value network, and resource and process of the company; For the business competition, competitors in both product lines are stated; And respective operation records are provided in making the decision.

Knowledge management becomes the hot topic of business circles in recent years, more and more enterprises become interested in knowledge management, a lot of scholars are engaged in relevant research one after another too. With the fast development of information science and technology, the administrative system of knowledge is the most important part in knowledge management by enterprises, but some enterprises have found gradually , though information science and technology can help enterprises to do a good job of knowledge management , but really leading knowledge management is the members who participates in, these members include high-order executive , technical staff and user. Leadership , culture , evaluation and technology and technology that four major keys to knowledge management succeed, but because task or have different type attitude emerge at the mission on because organization of enterprise should different, for instance the stratum type organizes, flat organization , radiating type organization and matrix type organize etc., organize each unit their have two or more upper strata management units appear perhaps in matrix type especially, so but more general stratum type complicatedness that comes will come efficiently in the treatment of some tasks on the operation of organizing. Companies should realize the gap between managers and users¡¦ need by means of sustained communication to find the best way to develop KMS. Then, users¡¦ participation in the system implementation can increase the opportunities for managers and users¡¦ interaction. During the interaction process, they dominate the system development, and then the structure of their power will change. Therefore, the key success factor of implementing KMS has relations with their power structure. Companies should realize the structure of managers and users¡¦ power and give users more power to dominate the resource of KMS under managers¡¦ appropriate control. Besides, managers have to reveal their support by practical actions for convincing users to participate in the system implementation and then try to form a culture which is suited to the KMS implementation to sanction their behavior. Therefore, the key success factor of implementing KMS has relations with whether managers can form a culture which is suited to the KMS implementation. Companies should establish proper rules to have managers and users contribute or share knowledge during the routine work and form a culture which is suited to the KMS implementation to sanction their behavior.

The aim of this theses describes the design of the control program for the synchronous axes model and reconstruction of this model. The first main part is description of synchronous axes model, description of engines and other components of model. Then model modifications are described. Another part is discussing the TwinCAT programming environment and describe all important elements that must be performed for proper functionality of the model. There is also a description of function blocks that are used to program motion sequences. The last part is described of demonstration program and program which would be used for teaching.

Digital camera technology for off-highway vehicles

Off-highway vehicles are on the verge of switching from analog to digital video camera technology (VCT), which offers better video quality and new features but adds complexity to the system. This thesis project aims to implement the digital VCT to the display computer CCpilot VA intended for off-highway vehicles. In this project the differences between analog and digital VCTs were reviewed and then a demo displaying a live digital camera video feed on the embedded Linux based display computer CCpilot VA was implemented with Qt and QML. More specifically, different GStreamer pipelines were tested, as Qt uses GStreamer to play video, and camera settings were changed using the ISO 17215 standard.  The demo displayed a live digital camera video feed with high quality, low latency and high frame rate on the VA by using a GStreamer pipeline utilizing hardware decoding. The results have shown that digital video cameras perform better than analog cameras, primarily because digital cameras have better video quality. The attempts to simultaneously display a video feed and a Graphical User Interface created by Qt have been made. However, they were only successful with poor video performance. A zero-copy link between the GStreamer pipeline’s decoder and sink element must be used to obtain good video performance.

Analysis of computers for controlling a laundry network system

This document describes the work for the master’s thesis in Electrical Engineering carried out at Electrolux Laundry Systems. In this project the computers that control the laundry system have been compared in order to verify the performance of the whole system. Three real environment systems are analysed and two of these systems have been set up in the laboratory in order to solve the problem considered. The results show that the tested devices perform better than the device PC1, which is not fulfilling the expectations in the real environment system. Some conclusions and future work are presented.

台灣工業電腦公司隨著台灣電腦業的蓬勃發展及供應鏈的完整,在此不算大的市場上持續地攻城略地,上市上櫃的十多家公司近幾年來無人虧損,差異僅在賺多賺少而已;全球十大工業電腦公司當中台灣至少也可佔到二至三席,而且在跟主機板、機箱類似的產品上已無人能敵;只要是台灣廠商能研發並製造出的產品,國外廠商便得被我們的低價格趕出市場。台灣電腦業已由宏碁、緯創當先鋒、華碩、和碩緊跟著朝著製造業的製造代工及服務業的品牌行銷分家的趨勢走。本論文在探討台灣工業電腦廠商是否也該跟著電腦的潮流走向品牌與製造代工分家之路。 / Taiwanese industrial PC companies are growing fast because of its complete supply chain. The listed companies in the industry do not face financial problems these years, and the difference among them is little. They also share top 2~3 seats among venders in the world. There are basically no foreign makers because of low-cost product lines developed by the industry in Taiwan . However, the trend in Taiwan’s personal computer companies is to separate ODM from OBM; led by Acer/Wistron and followed by Asus/Pegatron. The thesis instead is to study whether Taiwanese industrial PC companies need to spin off their factory or not.

台灣工業電腦產業行銷策略分析-以KVM切換器事業為例

鑒於台灣近二十年來PC產業所面臨微利化趨勢以及中國大陸崛起所擁有之低勞工成本優勢,在IT產業一片哀鴻遍野中,思考如何突破現狀而轉型至利基型之工業電腦領域,進而找出產業未被滿足之應用商機,並加強技術研發及行銷策略。 本論文以尚處於產業發展初期,年複合成長率達雙位數成長之KVM切換器(Keyboard、Video、 Mouse Switch)作為研究的課題,探討台灣資訊產業如何運用本身有限資源投入利基型應用領域,希能為台灣資訊產業帶來拋磚引玉之效果而略盡棉薄之力。 本研究是採用質化分析,研究方法是使用探索性研究之次級資料分析與個案研究,目的是在解釋一種實證性的探究,以實務的現象,加上個案說明,以4C理論架構,逐項分析比較以及歸納。以此研究方法與架構,探討台灣KVM切換器事業如何跨越門檻擠進系統解決方案市場國際大廠壟斷局勢,以及穩居眾多小廠覬覦之中低階產品市場所面臨各項行銷交換成本時所應採取的策略。 最後由於KVM切換器事業尚屬於起飛階段,時間不長、代表性廠商數量不多且個別公司的專屬資料蒐集不易、產業次級統計資料也不足,因此未來後續研究者可考慮朝量化的研究進行更深入之探討。

工業用電腦主機板的快速客製化服務之研究-以研華科技為例 / To Study The Fast Customization Service of Industrial PC Maker - A Case Study for Advantech Co., Ltd

本研究針對工業電腦產業,探索其創新產品服務:快速客製化(半客製化)服務的兩大產品服務模組化系統SOM(System On Module)及接單設計服務DTOS(Design To Order Service)-客製底板CSB的客製化服務之間的關聯影響,及對快速客製化(半客製化)服務的影響及關聯性。本研究以個案訪談法,以研華科技為研究對象;加上部份的問卷調查,為主要的研究方法。   本研究歸納分析研究發現如下:   【研究發現1】共通性模組的共通性程度會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現2】變異性模組的變異性程度會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現3】模組的介面標準化程度會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現4】設計延遲會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現5】最佳資源統治形式會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現6】接單後生產機制會影響快速客製化服務績效   【研究發現7】共通性模組的共通性程度會影響設計延遲   【研究發現8】變異性模組的變異性程度會影響最佳資源統治形式   【研究發現9】模組化是接單後生產機制的必備條件   研究結果發現:快速客製化服務是結合「快速設計客製化」及「大量客製化」的新興事業模式;並發現模組化及設計延遲理論對快速客製化服務的重大影響。   因此本研究建議:廠商應該致力於推動模組化系統SOM的產業標準化,運用延遲理論於接單設計DTOS及接單生產BTO服務,及運用交易成本理論於最佳資源統治形式來提高客製底板CSB快速客製化服務的績效。 / This research focused on studying the new business model for Fast Customization Service which is the combination of Fast Design Customization Service and Mass Customization Service.   The research result shows that Fast Customization Service is significantly influenced by “Modularity” and “Design Postponement” .   The Author suggests that the IPC makers should endeavor for promoting the industrial standardization of SOM (System On Module) , implementing Postponement theory into DTOS (Design To Order Service) and BTO (Build To Order) , and implementing Transaction-Cost Theory into the best Governance Structure .

工業電腦技術支援服務流程之研究---以研華科技公司為例

本研究選擇工業電腦產業的領導廠商研華科技公司為個案研究對象,想藉由研究該公司的技術支援服務流程,來瞭解其中可能出現的問題,並進一步提出改善的建議。 在整個研究架構方面,採用Davenport and Short(1990)的企業流程再造的五階段,乃因為此架構既具有完整的流程再造觀念,也稍具執行細節的考量,因此決定以該兩位學者所提的企業流程再造五階段作為本研究架構。 根據本研究,發現其現行的技術支援服務流程有以下的問題: 1. 業務工程師花費過多時間於技術支援服務上,使得他們缺乏時間開發與創造新的商機。 2. 客戶找業務請求技術支援並不會留下記錄。 3. 業務工程師與應用工程師有遺忘客戶需求的可能。 4. 業務無法隨時掌握顧客需求被滿足的狀況。 5. 應用工程師被動等待客戶跟催。 因此本研究提出以下建議: 1. 使用「即時支援軟體」來讓客戶可以輕鬆解決自己的問題,並留下服務需求記錄。 2. 加強公司知識庫的完整性、豐富性及更新速度。 3. 使用新的技術支援服務流程以提升服務效率及反應速度。 4. 建立每日客戶需求未被滿足的清單之電腦自動回報機制。 5. 提供客戶即時查詢其需求處理狀況。 另外在進行技術支援服務流程再造的時候,需要特別注意的是,要有一個流程負責人來統管整個新流程的運作狀況,董事長與總經理應該給予最高的授權支持,而該負責人應請各相關部門派出經理級以上的人參與流程再造,藉此整合各方意見並凝聚共識,如此才可能增加推行的助力,並將可行性納入考量,不然有可能變成難以執行計畫。 除此之外,還要有搭配相對應的誘因機制,讓相關的人員可以配合與適應此一新的技術支援服務流程,因為人們面對改變總是偏向抗拒的,因此一個新流程的推行需要相對應的誘因制度設計,才能讓大家有動力去從事變革。 關鍵字:工業電腦、技術支援、企業流程再造、流程圖、服務管理
