Systém správy kontaktních informací / Contact information management system

Závěrka, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
This master's thesis aims to develop a contact information sofware management system. This system is designed to support gathering, integration, synchronization and redistribution of contact information. The basis for the desing is research of theoretical sources, which puts the problem of contact information management into broader context. Based on information gathered in the research part this thesis chooses a suitable software development methodology to follow during the design phase. Before the actual design is started, the theoretical requirements are put to test against user requirements collected through interviews and a survey. The development follows the Software Development Lide Cycle model and results in a coarse-grained design. The major contributions of this thesis are primarily setting the problem of contact information management into broader context, which is poorly covered in literature and research, and performing user requirements analysis by a survey and interviews (which is something that has not been publicly done before).

Process oriented information management in construction

Lindfors, Christian January 2003 (has links)
The construction industry is often accused of beingfragmented and inefficient in nature due to the lack ofcontinuity and repetitive behaviour in projects. For many yearsinformation technology has been put forward as a solution. But,despite the potentials, little gains have been harvested by thedevelopment of computerised information systems (IS). Theoverall aim of this research is to determine if a moreaccessible and clearly described housing development processcould be enabled by an information system, which in itself, could improve both individual and project (group) performance. Two research questions are being put forward; first, will aprocess-oriented IS positively impact on the performance ofproject managers and in particular on the performance ofproject groups? Second, how important is a process-orientedinformation management process for the success of the IS? Toanswer these questions an action research approach with largeinfluences of survey research has been adopted. The researchconsists of two phases; a process orientation within a largeSwedish housing development company and a survey of projectmanagers¡¦ attitudes towards a new process-orientedIS also including a study of dependencies found among variablesof information system success (ISS). To enable a verificationof the success of the IS an assessment instrument - hypothesismodel - for evaluating ISS was developed. The assessmentinstrument was built on DeLone and McLean's (1992) ISS modeland extended to include measures of information managementprocess quality (process quality). The hypothesis model wasthen tested empirically with a questionnaire survey. Astatistical test was also performed to test the hypothesisedrelationships of the augmented ISS model. In summarising thefindings of the data analysis, it is evident that the new ISreceived unexpected support from the respondents. The findingsalso indicate that the collected and analysed data show supportfor numerous of the hypothesised relationships of ISS.Conclusions are drawn that confirm the presence of a processquality measure for assessing ISS. From a practitioner'sperspective, this research suggests a course of action forprocess oriented organisational development. It also indicatesbeneficiary useof a process focus in IS development. Arquitectura Tecnológica de un Chatbot para la Gestión de la Información en una entidad superior / Technological Architecture of a Chatbot for Information Management in a higher entity

Mamani Carrizales, Jhon Rodrigo, Ramirez Alamo, Yelithza Janerth 12 December 2019 (has links)
The management of quality information in the universities of Peru is one of the most important factors for academic development; however, not all higher education entities comply with quality standards and policies. In addition, access to all quality information is very difficult to administer, if the university has a very limited system, without maintenance and updates. The Peruvian University of Applied Sciences has the Integrated Quality System of UPC, hereinafter SICA, in which the different official documents of the university are publisher, such as regulations, policies, manuals, rubrics, among others. However, the process of searching the web portal is very limited and cumbersome, which leads to experiencing difficulties in the search of information by users. In this project, we propose a cognitive system to improve the user experience in searching for academic information with a chatbot. The difference between traditional search systems and the proposed cognitive system is to improve the user experience (UX) through optimization factors such as response time, ease of use, friendly interface, and user interaction through cognitive services cloud computing. This can go beyond the interaction between a chatbot and human since the user experience is very important and can define the success or failure of a system. / Tesis

Intranätets effekter på Information Management i traditionella organisationer : Hur påverkar den traditionella organisationsstrukturen anställdasanvändning av intranät ur ett Information Management-perspektiv. / The Intranets effects on Information Management in traditional organizations

Mekic, Amra January 2021 (has links)
The evolution of Internet technologies has created  innovation in Information Management methods, there including intranet. Organizations implement an intranet to improve the Information Management for increasing organizational efficiency and productivity. Earlier studies have shown intranets contribution to dissolve the hierarchic and control structure in traditional organizations while some researcher has shown the intranet not to be open and social. The problem this study will investigate lies in the over belief on intranet. The aim of this study is to examine employee’s attitudes and the use of intranet in a traditional organization to generalize if traditional organizations make use of the benefits regarding Information Management. The question this study will answer is “How, and for what is the intranet used for by employees in a traditional organization” to examine if employee’s use of intranet fulfills a worth out of an Information Management-perspective. A quantitative method with qualitative elements was used to examine the studies aim. To collect data a survey was created and a System Usability Scale was utilized. The result showed that the users don’t find the intranet usable. The result also showed that employees uses the intranet daily but doesn’t find the content updated, motivated or and hard to find. The generalized conclusion is that the studies result emphasize that the effects on Information Management rather strengthens the hierarchic organizational structure then dissolving it. The intranet in traditional organization shows an opposite effect on Information Management.

Varför e-arkiv? : En kvalitativ studie om varför vissa kommuner använder e-arkiv medan andra använder pappersarkiv

Al-khameesi, Maisam January 2020 (has links)
E-archive create more efficient opportunities for operations through process-oriented archival reporting that provides better overview of documents and a better support for case management and increases security for compliance. E-archive are also a prerequisite for achieving the municipalities goals for future e-government and a fully digital flow of information. The purpose of the essay is to investigate why some municipalities have started using electronic archiving while others are still using paper archives. The study also aims to examine the requirements for safety, accessibility, and costs for introducing electronic archives into municipal activities. Previous research in this field has mainly focused on areas that I believe together form the basis of my research area, namely digitalization, security, accessibility, information management, and e-government and digital archives (e-archives). Then presented OAIS model used as theory in this essay. To reach the aim of the study primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews. For this essay, there have been interviews with eight different municipalities, four of which use e-archiving and four using paper archives. The study is also based on secondary data in the form of articles and dissertations for previous studies on e-archives. The result that I got showed that digital archives are evolving very quickly. At the same time e-archives create great benefits such as being able to respond to the digital needs of the activities, follow the digital development that takes place in the public sector. The introduction of e-archives needed sufficient financial and human resources to carry out all the necessary activities.

Project PROMISE: PeRspectives On Medication Information Seeking in the Elderly

Jaclyn Rene Myers (9748952) 15 December 2020 (has links)
<p><b>Background/ Objective:</b> In our current healthcare system, information seekers have a bulk of the responsibility to initiate conversations about medications. Although older adults report the need for more information about their medications, many do not accept offers to receive more information from pharmacists during the dispensing of prescription medications. Very little previous work focuses on how older adults make decisions about seeking and avoiding information about medicines, or how these decisions impact medication outcomes. Therefore, the specific aims of this study were to: 1) describe older adults’ attitudes about medication information seeking and the relationships between those attitudes and medication information management behaviors and 2) characterize the relationship between medication information management behaviors (MIMB), medication knowledge, medication beliefs, and attitudes towards medication information seeking. </p><p><b>Methods:</b> Older adults prescribed a new, chronic medication were recruited from a specialty geriatric clinic to participate in interviews that occurred either in-person or over the phone. Participates were randomized 1:1 to usual care or to patient-prompted medication counseling (PPMC). Participants in the PPMC group agreed to ask a pharmacist questions about their new medication at their next medication refill and received a brief education. A survey instrument based on the Theory of Motivated Information Management (TMIM) was adapted from past studies to assess participants’ attitudes about information seeking. Participants were asked to report their information seeking and avoidance over the previous six-months prior to the study and at baseline and month one. Open-ended questions from a national medication safety campaign were utilized to assess medication knowledge. A rubric was developed to score participants’ answers as incorrect knowledge, no knowledge, incomplete knowledge, or complete knowledge and used by two community pharmacists to determine patient medication knowledge (PMK) scores. Structural equation modeling was utilized to identify predictors of MIMB, and hierarchical and logistic regression were used to determine the relationship between MIMB and medication outcomes. </p><p><b>Results: </b>A total of 132 participants completed baseline surveys, and 126 participants completed the month one surveys. Overall, a structural model based on the TMIM met the a priori criteria for good fit (Bollen-Stine bootstrap=0.269). Participants’ positive outcomes assessments, negative outcomes assessments were direct, positive predictors of information seeking and direct, negative predictors of information avoidance. After controlling for baseline medication knowledge, the effect of the intervention, and information seeking there were statistically significant differences in medication knowledge between those participants that sought information from a pharmacist during refill dispensing and those who did not (B=0.259, p<0.001). Of those that sought information from a pharmacist, 70% gained information from baseline to month one, while 36.9% of those that did not seek information from a pharmacist gained information baseline to month. There were no differences in medication beliefs between those that sought information from a pharmacist and those that did not.</p><p><b>Discussion/ Conclusion:</b> Patient knowledge deficits continue well beyond the initial dispensing of a medication, and older adults are also at risk for knowledge loss over the course of prescription use. Receiving additional information from a pharmacist at the time of medication refill may be protective against this information loss, and even increase the change of gaining medication knowledge over time. However, medication counseling in its current form is likely not sufficient to alter older adults’ beliefs about medications. Only one pharmacist initiated a conversation with a participant at medication refill indicating that those participants who want additional information about their medications after the initial dispensing may have to initiate the conversation with a pharmacist.</p>

MEDLINE Metric: A method to assess medical students' MEDLINE search effectiveness

Hannigan, Gale G. 05 1900 (has links)
Medical educators advocate the need for medical students to acquire information management skills, including the ability to search the MEDLINE database. There has been no published validated method available to use for assessing medical students' MEDLINE information retrieval skills. This research proposes and evaluates a method, designed as the MEDLINE Metric, for assessing medical students' search skills. MEDLINE Metric consists of: (a) the development, by experts, of realistic clinical scenarios that include highly constructed search questions designed to test defined search skills; (b) timed tasks (searches) completed by subjects; (c) the evaluation of search results; and (d) instructive feedback. A goal is to offer medical educators a valid, reliable, and feasible way to judge mastery of information searching skill by measuring results (search retrieval) rather than process (search behavior) or cognition (knowledge about searching). Following a documented procedure for test development, search specialists and medical content experts formulated six clinical search scenarios and questions. One hundred and forty-five subjects completed the six-item test under timed conditions. Subjects represented a wide range of MEDLINE search expertise. One hundred twenty complete cases were used, representing 53 second-year medical students (44%), 47 fourth-year medical students (39%), and 20 medical librarians (17%). Data related to educational level, search training, search experience, confidence in retrieval, difficulty of search, and score were analyzed. Evidence supporting the validity of the method includes the agreement by experts about the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully retrieve information relevant to a clinical question from the MEDLINE database. Also, the test discriminated among different performance levels. There were statistically significant, positive relationships between test score and level of education, self-reported previous MEDLINE training, and self-reported previous search experience. The findings from this study suggest that MEDLINE Metric is a valid method for constructing and administering a performance-based test to identify mastery in searching the MEDLINE database. The test's reliability needs to be established.

Use of configuration information in construction projects to ensure high performance of healthcare facilities

Schönbeck, Pia January 2020 (has links)
The transfer of information between the different phases of construction projects is limited, which complicates the quality assurance of configurations. Functional requirements on the building configuration are often ambiguous and lack measurable acceptance criteria. Vaguely described criteria provide an insufficient basis for the design and verification acceptance values. The contractor is often the first to consider the feasibility just before or during the production phase. However, feasibility including production methods should be considered with the establishment of each design solutions. Costs or time consequences are often the basis for change decisions, while the investigations of the impact on the building configuration and functionality are insufficient. A continuous flow of information with functional requirements as a controlling factor is required to control configurations. Functionality that ensure high quality patient care are essential in health care facilities, therefore the control of the configurations are particularly important. This licentiate thesis shows how configuration information in healthcare construction projects can ensure necessary building functionality. The following information areas are identified as necessary for control of configurations: function, verification, design solution, production and change control. All information is related and changes in one area affect the others, directly or indirectly during construction projects. The studies that are the basis of this licentiate thesis show that the management of configuration information was deficient in healthcare construction projects, especially regarding availability and interconnectivity. In addition, the information was not available at the right time during the construction process, which impaired configuration control. For example, verification methods were not available until the end of production. This precluded verification of intended functionality through large parts of the construction project. Detailed change information from digital models of buildings can significantly improve control of configurations, but this requires standardisation of input data. In the manufacturing industry, configuration management is practised to ensure that products fulfil the required functions throughout their entire lifecycle. Development of new technologies, such as digital processes and industrialised construction, require that construction projects develop working processes similar to those of the manufacturing industry. The risk of unnecessary rework with subsequent cost increases, delays and environmental impact decrease with increased control of the configuration. In construction projects, systematic management of configuration information can ensure delivery of healthcare facilities with intended functionality. / <p>QC 20201002</p>
