Didactique du texte littéraire dans l’enseignement universitaire du français en Colombie : Histoire, actualité et perspectives / Didactics of literature in Colombian university programs of French : History, developments and perspectives

Rincon Restrepo, Claudia 28 June 2016 (has links)
The aim of this doctoral thesis is to examine the main features of the teaching of French literature in the training of future teachers ofFrench in Colombian public university programs. To better understand the current situation, we shall first trace the history of the Colombianuniversity and its role as broadcasting agent of the French language, the objectives of the teaching of this language, its evolution from first tosecond foreign language during the XXth century and the position of literary education, that was at first very much centered on languagestudy and subsequently separated from it. At the same time, we shall describe the texts, authors, methodologies and literary exercisesperformed at each period. We shall then describe the current Colombian institutional environment of education and based on data collectedthrough a field search using several tools enabling us to confront the points of view of students, and professors and persons in charge of theFrench teacher training programs, we shall become acquainted with the current practices and didactic approaches of literary texts both inFrench learning courses and French literature courses. The institutions selected for this study are the National University of Colombia and theNational Pedagogical University in Bogotá, and the University of Antioquia in Medellín. The field work will also allow us to appreciate thedifficulties that could appear during the study of literature in universities, which may partly explain why this kind of work is relativelyneglected, mainly during the learning process of the language. Moreover, this study will lead us to ponder on the future of French teachingtraining programs and the place of education in literature in universities, presently strongly contested, and the challenges that universitiesmust overcome to continue to ensure a place for humanities. Then, taking into account the results of the field search and the current contextof education, we will explore the possible and desirable evolutions in the study of French literature. We will suggest an approach in foursteps to reintroduce literature study in the language learning courses, based on the intercultural dimension of the language and on theenlargement of the literary corpus towards francophone literature, aiming at improving the literary training of future teachers of French. Finally, we will propose two didactic approaches to study literary texts of different periods and origins for different training levels.

To takean intercultural approach in teaching : A study of four teachers' descriptions and practical application of an intercultural approach in teaching situations

Karaca, Ebru January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis, a study was made of four teachers’ perception and application of an intercultural perspective in their teaching practice. The purpose was to investigate how the teachers describe to use an intercultural approach in teaching situations and how they achieve it in social studies. The study aimed to answer the questions below: - How do the teachers perceive the concepts of multicultural, multicultural education and intercultural approach and what do they assume is the purpose of an intercultural approach? - How do the teachers adapt teaching from an intercultural perspective? * - Which advantages and difficulties/hindrance do the teachers consider occur in the enabling of an intercultural approach? - In which way do the teachers make an intercultural approach possible in their teaching practice in social studies? The methods used to answer these questions where qualitative one-on-one interviews and observations of the teachers during class in social studies. The theories used to analyse the material was based on theories on different intercultural approaches and strategies in teaching and the frame factor theory. As a conclusion, this study finds that the teachers in the study are aware of the possibilities and benefits of an intercultural approach. Furthermore, the results show that the way the intercultural approach is utilized in the teaching practice differs from teacher to teacher and that the teachers focus on similar and different aspect of the intercultural approach. However, this study also shows that they teachers feel various difficulties working with an intercultural approach such as the schools’ resources and teaching in different matters and contexts. Which is consistent with previous research?

Lemay, Myrianne 08 1900 (has links)
Conversions to Islam fascinate, positively or negatively, many people. By the same token, academics in Quebec and elsewhere in the world are studying this phenomenon. But according to some people, such as experts in the field, a lack of knowledge and skills exists in the field. As for people converted to Islam who live in Quebec, many feel the need to express themselves about their experiences in a safe way while feeling understood in their words. Although studies speak of conversions to Islam in Quebec, many of them come from Europe. Some make comparisons with the situation in America, including Quebec. But the Quebec reality differs from that of Europe. Several factors, such as immigration, mark this difference. In addition, very few studies on the subject are carried out by people who have lived the experience of conversion to Islam. This research attempts to balance these flaws by giving the floor to the people concerned, through semi-structured interviews combined with an intercultural approach. Additionally, a person who has been through the process of converting to Islam is leading this research. This allows for an insider’s understanding of the perception of practicing Muslims in Quebec regarding conversion to Islam. Its impact on identity, culture and religion remains very present. This means that this research revolves around four themes: identity, culture, religion and conversion. Although the interviews were individual, a co-construction of data was done through the information collected. According to the first results, I see that prejudices against people who convert to Islam do exist, both in the Muslim community and in Quebec society. However, the people met during this research perceive people converted to Islam in a similar way to those born in this religion and who were educated in it. From these preliminary results and the resulting analysis, questions related to this subject will breathe new life into current knowledge through an internal view of the Muslim community.

Afram, Alexandra January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers' conditions for and experiences of teaching in a multicultural classroom and how teachers relate to the intercultural mission. To examine this purpose the study takes part in a qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews with teachers from a county in Stockholm, Sweden. The study’s theoretical framework underlines the sociocultural perspective and the intercultural perspective along with the term multicultural. The results show that several of the interviewees expressed that time had an impact on teaching in the classroom. It takes time and energy to adapt the lessons to each student and their needs. It also takes time to plan the lessons which affects the recovery time which is very needed for the teaching quality of the lesson. The results show that the teacher's knowledge of how they are supposed to teach in a multicultural classroom and how to adapt to an intercultural approach comes from their own experiences and not from any kind of education or course. The teachers have then learned how to handle different difficulties and challenges together with their colleagues. The teachers express that they use the students' cultures, backgrounds, experiences and compare different countries in the lesson to get the students to relate to the teaching material. From their own experiences the teachers have developed qualities that they consider important to have in a multicultural classroom. These qualities create a positive and safe environment where students can feel comfortable and open up for discussions. The results show that some of the teachers expressed that smaller groups contribute to better quality and make it easier to teach. This makes it easier for students to focus and interact with each other.

Análise de estratégias de ensino/aprendizagem em materiais didáticos de alemão como língua estrangeira: perspectivas pós-comunicativas em contraste / Analysis of learning/teaching strategies in teaching materials of German as a foreign language: post-communicative perspectives in contrast

Cunha, Max Clark de Castro 21 June 2013 (has links)
With the quantification and the interpretation of the exercises typologie and strategies of the lessons Start auf Deutsch and Café D, both of the book Studio D A1 and Europa: Politik und mehr, of the book Studio D B1, this work aims at investigation of this lessons in comparisons to the post-comunicative principles, as treated in Funk (2010). After this quantification, the teaching/learning strategies of this teaching material was investigated if these strategies follow the strategies of the intercultural aproach, as discussed in Roche (2001) and the strategies of the post-method pedagogy (KUMARAVADIVELU:1994, 2001), these are part of the post-comunicative era and have principles that are related to the sociocultural and interacionist theory. The research on the postcomunicative outlook culminated in the changing of the foreing languange teaching/learning parameters in the 90s, with this, arise the Common European Framework for Foreing Languages (CEFR) and in Brazil the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais para as Línguas Estrangeiras (PCN-LE), both educational parameters, european and brazilian, propose that the reality of learners and cultural exchange are means of the autonomous learning facilitation. The chosen teaching book are part of this CEFR scenario, therefore, it itended to investigate if in these lesson are applied the exercise tipologies as proposed by Rampillon (2001) and Häusserman & Piepho (1996). Also was comparated the strategies of the teaching book with the learning/teaching strategies as proposed by Bimmel & Rampillon (2001). In this work was also discussed the role of the media ressources in the post-comunicative era. On the basis of all these assumption, this work investigated if in these lessons are included subsidies to the application of the exercise tipologie, strategies and principles of the post-comunicative era.

Al-Ameri, Fares 20 June 2014 (has links)
Based on the results obtained by Al Ward (2009) which point out that theexistence of intercultural issues among Yemeni students in France, and lead tomisunderstandings and intercultural conflicts. We decided to study these interculturalproblems by seeking answers to the following questions: what are they, why theyexist, and how can we find solutions? With the aim of answering these questions we developed a questionnaire with reference to associated Zarate (1989) words, to collect immediate representations of French culture and society. We also did interviews with students already in France in order to understand their problems. By combining the two surveys in the analysis, we have a list of intercultural problems which may occur in the French-Yemeni intercultural communications. We then found that these problems can be linked to several causes...

Jogo de espelhos: representações sociais de professores de língua portuguesa e de aprendizes bolivianos em contexto multicultural na rede pública de ensino / REFLEX MIRRORS: social representations of Portuguesespeaking teachers and Bolivian learners in a multicultural context in public-school

Gabriel, Ana Katy Lazare 21 November 2016 (has links)
This thesis is in Didactics of Language Teaching, Cultural Studies and Social Representation Theory, and its general objective is to accompany and understand the teacher\'s relationship with his professional activity in face of the specifics of Portuguese teaching in a multicultural context. Specific objectives are: 1. To verify how the teacher\'s relationship with his professional activity takes place in view of the specificities of teaching Portuguese in a multicultural context and how they represent and represent the Bolivian apprentice in the classroom. 2. Find out how Bolivian learners represent teachers in the classroom. The research is limited to investigate the interaction and the different forms of social representation between Bolivian teachers and learners in a multicultural classroom in the Public Education Network of the Municipality of São Paulo. In the globalized world, the demand for second or third language learning is necessary, however, only linguistic knowledge does not guarantee insertion and interaction in different social practices. For the analysis, questionnaires, and narratives of Cycle I polyvalent teachers, Portuguese Cycle II teachers and Bolivian learners were collected. The methodological procedure was the content analysis according to Bardin (1979), the content analysis aims to study a certain process that occurs in a particular social group. In this way, the analysis of the narratives of Bolivian teachers and apprentices subsidized data for the verification of the different ways of representing the social representation of the other. In order to analyze the social representations the conceptions of Social Representations of Moscovici (1978) were applied. The results obtained suggest that: 1. Teachers are represented according to what is recommended in the orientation and pedagogical training documents that they believe to be correct in their pedagogical practice; Represent apprentices according to their values and beliefs derived from a form of social thought transmitted from generation to generation, however there is no full understanding of the complexity of Portuguese language teaching in a multicultural room. 2. Bolivian students classify teachers into two categories, the good and bad teacher. Being presented as \"good\" the teacher intuitively uses teaching strategies with an interculturalist approach and \"bad\" teachers who do not perceive or ignore the presence and difficulties of foreign students.

L’approche interculturelle dans l’enseignement-apprentissage des langues étrangères : analyse des pratiques d’enseignement du français langue étrangère au Mozambique / The intercultural approach in the teaching-learning of foreign languages : analysis of teaching practices of french as a foreign language in Mozambique

Pedro, Feliciano José 20 November 2018 (has links)
The intercultural approach, which has become cross-cutting and interdisciplinary, has been adopted and established as an essential, indispensable and indisputable component of foreign language teaching since the 1970s. However, a critical analysis of the bibliography dedicated to it and of the various uses, in all fields combined, reveals diverse and even contradictory epistemological and methodological misunderstandings and positions. This has led some authors to draw up criticisms and to suggest ways for reorientation. Furthermore, we found that in the field of foreign language teaching in Mozambique, intercultural issues were not as ubiquitous and the subject of much research as in Europe, for example. It is in this perspective that we conducted this research in order to evaluate teachers' knowledge and the mechanisms for taking this approach into account in French as a foreign language courses in Mozambique. To do this, we analyzed documents (programs and textbooks) and conducted surveys through non-participant observations, semi-directive interviews and a questionnaire. Cross-checking the results of the various analyses, we have observed that speeches and perceptions were marked by the general tendency characteristic of interculturality because, on the one hand, all teachers believe and declare that they know what it is, while having difficulty explaining its mechanisms and illustrating their knowledge with classroom activities. On the other hand, they consider civilization and cultural activities and practices to be intercultural. This leads us to doubt the practice of interculturality in this context, despite the objectives contained in the curriculum and the teachers' declarations. Indeed, we found that the concepts were poorly mastered, leading to inconsistencies in teachers' representations. We believe that it is necessary to put in place measures to further develop, update and take into account this dimension at three levels: teacher training, curricula and text books
