Sverige har blivit ett alltmer mångkulturellt samhälle vilket avspeglas i vården. Den interkulturella kommunikationen inom sjukvården kan vara utmanande för sjukvårdspersonalen speciellt när det kommer till smärtlindring. Syfte: Att beskriva specialistsjuksköterskors erfarenheter av interkulturell kommunikation vid postoperativ smärtlindring. Metod: Kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultat: Den manifesta analysen resulterade i fem huvudkategorier. Intervjuerna visar att språk och språkförbistring är faktor som kan påverka smärtskattning och smärtlindringen på postoperativa avdelningar. Andra erfarenheter är att kulturella uttryck vid smärta, fördomar och tidsbrist kan komplicera smärtlindringen ytterligare. Slutsats: Flera faktorer samverkar för att specialistsjuksköterskor upplever interkulturell kommunikation vid smärtlindring som extra utmanande och svårt. Att använda sig av smärtskalor är komplicerat utan gemensamt språk men andra strategier används för att bedöma patientens smärta. Det kan vara svårt att öppna upp för samtal på arbetsplatsen av rädsla eller oro att bli betraktad som främlingsfientlig men det finns ett behov av att diskutera skillnader och svårigheter för att ge patienter en mer personcentrerad vård.

Исследование посвящено изучению способов фасилитации межкультур-ного диалога и последующему созданию системы упражнений, направленных на эффективное формирование межкультурной компетенции на уроках русского языка как иностранного. Актуальность работы обусловлена в первую очередь открытостью границ и относительной доступностью для населения большинства стран долгосрочного пребывания в иностранных государствах, в том числе с целью получения образования. В диссертации разработана система упражнений, состоящая из трех бло-ков, направленных на формирование следующих навыков: осознание культур-ной специфики человеческого поведения, осознание системы ориентации, ха-рактерной для родной культуры, осознание значения культурных факторов в процессе коммуникативного взаимодействия. Положительным результатом применения тренинговых заданий на уроках РКИ можно считать то, что студенты приходят к практически всем выводам, изначально заявленным как цели задания. / This investigation is devoted to the methods of facilitation of intercultural dialogue and the subsequent creation of a system of exercises aimed at the efficient formation of intercultural competence at the lessons of Russian as a foreign language. Relevance of the work is caused by open borders and relatively accessible to the population of most countries of long-term stay in foreign countries, including the purpose of education. In this paper we developed a system of exercises, consisting of three units, aimed at the formation of the following skills: awareness of the cultural specificity of human behavior, understanding of the orientation system specific to the native culture, awareness of the importance of cultural factors in the process of communicative interaction. As the positive results of training tasks on the lessons of Russian as a foreign language we can assume that students come to virtually all the conclusions, originally declared as the purpose of the task.

The dissertation is devoted to the theoretical analysis and project design of an ethnocultural festival as a framework for organizing intercultural communication. The paper explores problems of intercultural communication in modern society, and the nature and history of intercultural festivals; provides the analyses of foreign and Russian counterparts of peoples’ festivals (festivals of peoples’ friendship). The project part includes conceptual and substantive design of an “Izyum.FEST” interactive urban children’s festival of the peoples of Russia. / Диссертация посвящена теоретическому анализу и разработке проекта этнокультурного фестиваля как формы организации межкультурных коммуникаций. В работе исследуются проблемы межкультурных коммуникаций в современном обществе; специфика и история межкультурных фестивалей; анализируются зарубежные и российские аналоги фестивалей народов (дружбы народов). В проектной части диссертации представлены концептуальные и содержательные составляющие городского интерактивного детского фестиваля народов России «Изюм.FEST».

In this thesis the development of an additional methodological tutorial «Writing for publication» of the book «English for Academics» is proposed for teaching students with the level of English Upper-Intermediate and Advanced to write and publish scientific articles. The relevance of the topic is that in modern conditions for successful and professional realization of a student it is necessary to perform international scientific communication with the help of the foreign language ( English, in particular), because the role of the English language has increased and for today it is regarded as the universal language. The theoretical significance of the research is defined by the analyzed materials which can be contributed to the teaching-methods of the foreign language for scientific purposes. The practical significance is due to the development of the methodological tutorial for teaching English for scientific communication for students with the level of English Upper-Intermediate and Advanced and also possibility to use the materials during English lessons to prepare students for successful writing a scientific article and its publication. The main content of the thesis is disclosed in the chapters: «The idea of scientific communication and processes in its basis» and «Teaching English for writing a scientific article». In conclusion, the research findings are presented. The appendix includes examples of additional exercises which are included in the methodological tutorial. / В магистерской диссертации предложена разработка дополнительного методического пособия «Writing for Publication» к учебнику «English for Academics» для обучения студентов с уровнем английского Upper-Intermediate и Advanced написанию научной статьи и дальнейшей ее публикации. Актуальность темы заключается в том, что в современных условиях для успешной профессиональной реализации студента необходимо совершать международную научную коммуникацию на иностранном языке (английском), поскольку роль английского языка в сфере науки с каждым годом увеличивается и на сегодняшний день его принято считать универсальным. Теоретическая значимость работы определяется тем, что изученный материал вносит вклад в методику обучения иностранному языку в целях научной коммуникации. Практическая значимость исследования заключается в разработке методического пособия по обучению английскому языку для научной коммуникации для студентов уровня Upper-Intermediate, Advanced и возможностью использования материала на занятиях по иностранному языку для подготовки студентов к успешному написанию научных статей, а также их публикации. Основное содержание диссертации раскрывается в главах: «Понятие научной коммуникации и процессы, лежащие в ее основе» и «Обучение английскому языку для написания научной статьи». В заключение даются выводы, полученные в ходе исследования. Приложение включает в себя примеры дополнительных упражнений, которые входят в методическое пособие.

The training of specialists who understand the specific aspects of the country they work with is one of the most important aspects of the country's economic development. According to the "Concept of Long-Term Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation until 2020", the government is challenged to place at least five Russian universities in the "Top 100" world ranking, and the number of foreign students studying at the university, as well as the number of international cooperation and exchange programs are among the indicators of success in the global education market. Therefore, studying and solving the problems of adaptation of foreign students in the academic space is undoubtedly becoming relevant in today's world. / Подготовка специалистов, понимающих специфику страны, с которой они работают, является одним из важных условий экономического развития страны. Согласно утвержденной правительством «Концепции долгосрочного социально-экономического развития Российской Федерации на период до 2020 года». перед государством стоит задача вывести не менее пяти вузов России в мировой рейтинг «Топ 100», и количество иностранных студентов, обучающихся в вузе, а также количество международных сотрудничеств и программ обмена являются одними из показателей успешности на мировом рынке образования. Следовательно, изучение и решение проблем адаптации иностранных обучающихся в академическом пространстве, несомненно, приобретает актуальность в современном мире.

В диссертации рассматриваются ключевые понятия, характеризующие сущность межкультурной компетентности, методы и приемы формирования и развития межкультурной компетентности у студентов неязыковых направлений подготовки на занятиях по иностранному языку в вузе. Разработан комплекс мероприятий, направленный на формирование следующих умений: понимание культурных различий, осознание важности культурных факторов в процессе коммуникативного взаимодействия. / This master’s thesis studies the key concepts that characterize the essence of intercultural competence, methods, and techniques for the formation and development of intercultural competence among students of non-linguistic specialties at foreign language lessons. The developed system of exercises aimed at the formation of the following skills: understanding of the cultural differences, awareness of the importance of cultural factors in the process of communicative interaction.

Данная научная работа выполнена в рамках теории лингвокультурных типажей и посвящена исследованию образа «бизнесмен» в русской и британской лингвокультурах. Материал исследования составили 125 текстовых фрагмента, 80 фотографий бизнесмена (40 фотографий русского бизнесмена и 40 фотографий британского бизнесмена) и результаты опроса 144 информантов (104 информанта в русском опросе и 40 информантов в британском опросе). В первой части работы рассматривается проблема определения понятия «лингвокультурный типаж», а также способы типологии лингвокультурных типажей и методы их исследования. Во второй части работы определяются понятийные, образно-перцептивные и оценочные характеристики типажа «бизнесмен», а затем проводится моделирование изучаемого типажа и дальнейшее сопоставление полученных результатов в рамках русской и британской лингвокультур. Каждый аспект анализируется на основе найденных текстовых фрагментов, а также на основе результатов опроса в рамках возрастных и гендерных групп. По каждому пункту делаются выводы, выявляются сходства и различия между представлениями россиян и британцев. Результаты исследования могут быть использованы в рамках курсов по лингвокультурологии, страноведению, межкультурной коммуникации, а также в преподавании иностранного языка. / This scientific work is written within the theory of linguocultural types and is dedicated to the research of “businessman” type in English and Russian linguocultures. The research is based on the analyses of 125 abstracts, 80 photographs (40 photographs of Russian businessmen and 40 photographs of British ones), and results of the survey, including 144 answers (104 Russian informants and 40 British informants). The first part of the work deals with the problem of wording the meaning of the term “linguocultural type” and also ways to classify linguocultural types and methods of their investigation. The second part of the work specifies conceptual, figurative-perceptual, and evaluative characteristics of linguocultural type “businessman”. After that modelling of the investigated type and comparison are held in frames of Russian and British cultures. Every aspect is analyzed on the basis of found abstracts and results of the survey due to age and gender brackets. After each paragraph conclusions are made, and similarities and differences are found between Russian and British people. Results of the research can be used for teaching such subjects as cultural linguistics, national studies, intercultural communication, and foreign language.

Successful client care depends on effective nurse-client communication. It is essential in meeting clients' needs, providing quality care, and maximizing positive client outcomes. The intent of this thesis was to explore nurse perceived barriers to effective nurse-client communication. A literature review was conducted and nine articles were identified as addressing nurse perceived barriers to communication. Four major barriers were identified: nurse comfort and knowledge, environment, time, and culture and language. Research on interventions to address nurses' perceptions of barriers to effective nurse-client communication may provide a better understanding of communication barriers and address issues created by ineffective communication with clients.
