When technology comes knocking, will public care get rocking? : Public care's relation to Giraff and technical aidsBackelin, Kristina, Oveland, Anna-Sofie, Salorinne, Lena January 2010 (has links)

/
The purpose is to gain and create an understanding of how municipalities argue at the prospect of procuring technical aids. The Buying Decision-making Process for B2B is the theoretical base. A qualitative study made up by semi-structured telephone interviews was conducted and in total there were eleven respondents. The conclusion is that on a political and managerial level there is an evident interest for new technology. Delaying factors are the scepticism of the staff and out-dated directives for negotiations. The results do however indicate that the market for technical aids will grow.

The influence of and interaction between socialization agents in the child-consumers purchasing process.Rubil, Dijana, Schöld, Caroline January 2010 (has links)
In several years researchers have focused on identifying different socialization agents that influence the child consumer in the purchasing process. These studies have identified parents, friends and peers, television, role models, and different virtual communities as socialization agents. However, there is still no understanding of how the socialization agents are integrated in the decision-making process. The purpose is therefore to identify how the child-consumers are influenced by different sources in their decision-making process, and recognise the socialization agents’ interaction as influencers. The authors have found that there is a continuous interaction between the socialization agents in the decision-making process. The socialization agents, such as parents, siblings, friends and peers, television, role models and virtual communities, separately influence the adolescents in the purchasing process, however, the adolescents do not only take into consideration the opinion of one socialization agent but rather they use all of them. The authors have also found that the socialization agents act as support systems to other socialization agents, this in both influence and credibility.

The Contribution Of Geographic Information System To The Urban Planning Process In TurkeyKepoglu, Volkan Osman 01 September 2003 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis attempts to show the contribution of Geographic Information System to urban planning process in Turkey. GIS can enhance the planning system by providing an access to accurate, reliable and update geographical information, producing alternatives according to the scenario and ensuring participation in the evaluation of the alternatives. This is the high level contribution of GIS for the enhancement of planning. The contribution can occur / if certain conditions are
sustained such as establishment of geographical data provision system among public institutions. Obviously, these are connected with available technical and social infrastructure. Although, there is not a digital infrastructure system among the public institutions, several general directorates have started to provide some geographical
information in their works. These efforts should be increased in quality and quantity. From the planning point of view, we argue that these are not even at satisfying level
to work with the GIS in the plan-making processes. To prove our argument, the use of GIS and technology in the Bank of Provinces and private planning offices are inquired. The results of the thesis study show that the Bank of Provinces is in the transition period for the use of GIS. Private planning offices are in the initial stage and some of them seem unable to adopt themselves if the plan-making process
becomes digital, because of the extra costs for them. Therefore, geographical data provision policies among public planning institutions will determine the future
development of GIS in the planning process.

In May 2011 the new Planning and Building Act was introduced, which makes it possible to regulate the division of property into property division’s provisions. Today, plot subdivisions and property regulation plans formed under previous legislation, counts as property division’s provisions according to the Planning and Building Act. Since the majority of these are either completed or outdated today, it becomes a problem connected to land parceling and therefore needs to be abolished. The aim with this report is to describe and analyze how older plot subdivisions and property regulation plans are dealt with in connection to land parceling. The report will explore which handling and decision-making systems are used when abolishing plot subdivisions and property regulation plans. A secondary objective is to provide suggestions on how to improve the handling and decision-making process according to the new Planning and Building Act. The methods consist of a literature review, case studies and a questionnaire survey. The studied literature was scientific papers, legal texts, law proposals and other appropriate literature. The case studies were conducted to describe and analyze the handling and decision-making process in different land surveying agencies. The survey was sent to active land surveyors in Dalarnas and Gävleborgs counties, to obtain a deeper knowledge and their opinions on plot subdivisions and property regulation plans. The literature review shows that the need to regulate land use has long existed and still exists today. By determining how land is divided into parcels it could prevent uncontrolled expansion of the city. The legislation has changed over the years and several new features have been introduced in the new Planning and Building Act, i.e. plan notices. The case studies and questionnaires shows that the surveying authorities manages the handling and decision-making process differently. There are differences between national and municipal surveying authorities regarding communication and establishing records. The National Land Surveying Agency in Dalarna, unlike the municipal surveying authority in Gävle, does not have a delegation decision from the town planning committee to abolish plot subdivisions and property plans. There are also differences in how to establish records, the National Land Surveying Agency lack a uniform format while the municipal surveying authority in Gävle has established templates. The conclusion is that the handling and decisions-making process can be simplified by establishing uniform records. The National Land Surveying Agency should continue to create planning proposals. A legislative amendment may be made to provide the National Land Surveying Agency a temporary right to make the decision to abolish property regulation plans. It is proposed that the plan notice should be exempt from the handling and decision-making process.

The purpose with this study is to illustrate if the keyhole-symbol of food products has an impact on consumers view on, and choice of food product. This study will also illuminate if the consumers reasoning is critical of the sources. Fifty interviews were applied. The study shows that the keywhole-symbole has a positive influence on respondent's perception of healthiness and on likelihood to buy the product. The study also shows striking results int the absence of critical thinking about the sources.
