Percepção e significante na construção do espaçoBreda, Fernanda Pereira January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation addresses the issue of development of the concept of space in psychoanalysis taking as central the clinical case of a patient treated at a public mental health clinic in the city of Porto Alegre. Given that time/space are inseparable categories in the field of human sciences, the research addresses the moments of the development of the subject in which the organization and structuring of these variables are concerned. Emphasizing the concept of space as an effect of the position of the subject in language, the text develops the relationship between perception and representation present in delusional formations. From clinical experience, it intends to discuss some important theoretical formulations in the field of psychoanalysis while composing a case study. It uses the literary work of the American writer Paul Auster "Oracle Night" as a privileged element in this dialogue as a representation of the structure present in the narrative. The relationships established between reader/writer /character composes a narrative universe similar to the transfer in clinical psychosis. From these elements it addresses the issue of the differences between fiction and delusion with regard to the narrative configuration.

January 2005 (has links)
Abstract: Moacyr Scliar's literature is based on the parody of the unusual filtered by the ironic author's view that uses the mise-en-abyme technique to organize his art of writing poems. In order to support this statement, three novels were analysed: Mês de cães danados: uma aventura nos tempos de Brizola (1977), A mulher que escreveu a Bíblia (1999) and Os leopardos de Kafka (2000). In these works, irony was concerned as principle of caranivalization in the relation between fiction and Brazilian history, the Bible and the Russian Revolution respectively. The intensity of the author's irony is the characteristic of a kind of contemporary parable that matches fantasy with the tragicomic reality. The organization of the novels is focused on the narrative refletion, formed by mise-en-abyme, as Dällenbach (1977) postulates, since such process is considered one of the supports of the unusual appropriateness by the irony of parody. / Doutor

The Book ThiefSvensson, Lovisa January 2018 (has links)

The specular narrative in Michel Butor and in Ma YuanZhang, Miao 15 December 2016 (has links)
This thesis aims to study the embodiment of specular narrative in the novels of French writer Michel Butor and Chinese writer Ma Yuan. Based on this, we try to explore and then to discuss the common points of the two writers in their philosophy of writing and narrative innovation, such as the preference for metaphorical mirror and the mirror thinking applied in the novel. It can be seen that the origin and application of the mirror narrative is also different under the different background of the two countries. Based on the analysis of L’Emploi du temps of Michel Butor and Niugui sheshen (Bull-headed monster and half-serpent spirit) of Ma Yuan, we explore the similarities and differences about the reflexivity, metaphorical "mirror", narrative innovation and the writing philosophy. Specifically, this thesis focus on two central subjects: on the one hand, the relevance between the cultural tradition (divination and Taoism) and the borrowing occidental narrative forms in the field of literature and culture; on the other hand, it also reflects and discovers the mutual exchange and inter-influence between China and France. We focus on concept of specular narrative and related issues (such as narrative metalepsis and intertextuality) between the two representative writers. The thesis searches on the different application on the same specular narrative through vertical comparison, combined with the horizontal comparison, in order to ultimately reveal the real cultural code behind it.

Interpretace románu Spas Ivana Matouška / Interpretation of the novel Spas by Ivan MatoušekMalá, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
The master thesis discusses the novel Spas by Ivan Matoušek published in 2001. The description of the structure and narrative time of the novel is followed by a characterization of the ironic self-conscious narrator and his relationship to the fictional world and the main character. The interpretation is partly inspired by a theoretical paper on irony by Vladimir Jankélévitch, which is compared with Paul de Man's concept of irony. The thesis also refers to Linda Hutcheon's theory of self- reflexivity and metafiction and employs the concept of mise en abyme.

The purpose of the present study is to examine the signification of identitary discourses in the novel Sefarad: Una novela de novelas by Antonio Muñoz Molina and determine to what extent these discourses represent and respond to identitary discourses in contemporary Spanish society. The analysis focuses on three principal questions: how is the narrative constructed, what is conveyed as a result, and what is the aim of the narrative. Identity is understood as a social construction, an individual and continuous process of assuming, defining, negotiating and maintaining cultural identities, elements of the surrounding world that provide the individual with a sense of meaning (Fromm 1956; Castiñeira 2005; Marsella 2008). The novel consists of different stories that manifest the social impact of the totalitarian regimes in Europe during the twentieth century, told by a diversity of voices. First, the analysis deals with the structure of the text, examined through the model of mise en abyme (Dällenbach 1989). Secondly, the significations of transition, transgression (Lotman 1978) and, analogically, stigmatization are deduced (Goffman 1972), processes that are related to the effects of the frontier as a metaphor (Pratt Ewing 1998) and to limit situations (Jaspers 1974). Thirdly, the study stresses the representation of the past, in which trauma, melancholy and mourning are significant (Benjamin 1992; Freud 1986). The conclusions confirm the claim that the novel corresponds to humanity’s treasure of suffering (Leidschatz), a cultural possession that thematizes the processes of memory and oblivion (Assmann 1999), represented through stories told by the victims of intolerance at different levels. The text is accordingly conceived as a mirror through which the narrator constructs his identity as a writer and transmits meaning to the reader by providing the opportunity to reflect upon identity issues today.
