Motivation to donation

Steneberg, Nellie, Ibarbachane, Sara January 2020 (has links)
Today, the world contains a large number of important non-profit organizations (NPOs) that seek to maintain the welfare of people and animals and to preserve the natural world. NPOs are extremely dependent on funds from the public which has resulted in severe competition between these organizations. This has also come as a result of the cut down of government support and a shortage of donations. Their lack of financial resources indicates that NPOs around the world face major challenges and are therefore in need of customized tools to increase their revenue and ensure their survival. With the purpose of increasing donations towards NPOs, this study aims to research how a media object can be developed and marketed in Bali to motivate tourists into donating money to the Bali Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) which is located in Canguu, Bali. By doing this, NPOs can use this research as tool for application within their own organization to increase their revenues. The media object that was chosen for this research was a poster, placed in the streets of Canggu, Bali and was selected because it has been shown that visual communication is a powerful tool for encouraging prosocial human behavior. The aim was to document how the media object affected levels of tourist engagement and ultimately their motivation to donate money to an NPO. A number of theories of motivation and behavior were used to form the foundation for this research. The methodology used included qualitative data collection by way of interviews, observations of local conditions pertinent to tourist interaction with media objects, as well as information gathered through a focus group involving local tourists. Research Through Design (RTD) was the framework that was used to structure the process for the creation and the testing of the prototype (the media object). The RTD included four phases, two of which were not completed due to complications involving the COVID-19 pandemic. The research concluded that the environment, attitudes towards legitimacy and emotional engagement all played a crucial role for the effectiveness and ultimately the success of a media object. Furthermore, it was concluded that there is a need for extended research on tourists’ behavior as well as consumer behavior, in relation to donors, in order to fully understand how a media object should be developed to motivate a tourist to donate money to an NPO.

Revisorns roll i svenska lokala partiföreningar : faktorer som påverkar revisorernas handlingsutrymme / The auditor's role in Swedish party associations at the municipal level

Edalova, Natalia January 2020 (has links)
In Sweden's 2018 elections, eight parties were given the mandate in Parliament: M, C, S, V, L, KD, SD, MP. The parties' organization exists on three levels: party associations at the municipal level and district organizations linked together in a national organization. Party associations at the municipal level are registered as non-profit associations.  During annual meetings, members elect the board, treasurer, auditors, and deputy auditors. Auditors elected at the annual meeting may be a professional accountant or a lay auditor, i.e. someone who does not professionally work with auditing but who is volunteering. The auditor has a controlling function in the association, so it will be instructive to study the role of the auditors in Swedish party associations at the municipal level.  The role of the auditor in party associations is about what possibilities exist to be able to do their job, which the auditor has in these associations. There are several internal and external factors that affect the auditor's discretion. These factors were explored to create a clear picture of the auditor's role in party associations at the municipal level.  There is no previous research on which factors affect the auditor's discretions in party associations. The result can be used to increase knowledge of the auditor's role the municipal level as well as to make party associations aware of the factors that affect the auditors' scope and clarify the importance of these when the party association appoints auditors in the future.  Question: What factors affect the auditors' discretions for party associations at municipal level?  The conclusion of the study is that all auditor in party associations feel that their discretion is more than enough. The auditors are aware of their controlling role. Their audit work it is support and security to the members as well as the board.  The purpose of this study is to probe the factors that affect the auditor's discretion within these associations.

Volontärers upplevelser av att stötta tjejer med psykisk ohälsa på Tjejzonen och betydelsen av återkoppling i uppdraget / Volunteers’ experiences of supporting girls with mental illness at Tjejzonen and the importance of feedback in the assignment

Fridell, Signe, Olsson, Helena January 2022 (has links)
Background: Mental illness is a public health problem that is increasing nationally and internationally. In Sweden, mental illness is unevenly distributed and the largest increase can be seen among young girls. As a result of the congested public sector, the non-profit sector has become an important complement in supporting people with mental illness, which is important from a public health perspective. Meeting people who suffer from mental illness can, however, be stressful and the turnover of volunteers is today high. Feedback from the volunteer organization has proven to be important for volunteers’ willingness to stay in the assignment. Therefore, it is of interest to investigate how volunteers at Sweden's largest support organization for girls, Tjejzonen, experience the work of supporting girls with mental illness and the feedback they receive from the organization. Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate volunteers’ experiences of supporting girls with mental illness at Tjejzonen and what significance the supervisors’ feedback have for the volunteers in their assignments. Method: To answer the study's purpose, a qualitative approach has been used, where data was collected through semi-structured interviews in the spring of 2022. For the study, eight participants were selected through a goal-oriented selection. The collected data was analyzed with a qualitative content analysis. Results: The results of the data analysis resulted in five categories: Own reward, Emotional stress, Positive work culture, Varying needs and Skills development. The revision of the five categories resulted in the theme The value of being part of a community. Conclusion: Volunteers at Tjejzonen feel that there is a valuable community that strengthens them in the mission and soothes stressful situations. The feedback provided by the supervisors is described as a strong contributing factor to the community and is presented as important for competence development purposes. In addition to the feedback from the supervisors, the collegial support from other volunteers is described as being important for the feeling of community, which in turn breeds an increased motivation and sense of meaning in the assignment.

Fu, Cheng-Liang Unknown Date (has links)
After reform and opening up in 1978, all aspects of mainland China, such as the economy, politics and culture affairs, were in an unprecedented state of shock. Meanwhile, the opportunity was given for the development of the non-profit organizations (NPO) which were growing rapidly in recent years. Though the development is still at the primary stage, the participation of citizens in NPOs is increasing gradually. NPOs have become an important force with their growing influence on the social welfare, kindly supports, healthcare, cultural and education affairs, and environmental protections. Much related research was published in recent years. The current study uses China Youth Development Foundation as an example to understand the development of NPOs in mainland China. The study focuses on its background, history, current situation, relevant regulations, relationship with the civil society, and future developments. The purpose of this study is to know more about the present development of NPOs in mainland China by methods of interviews and analyses. As NPOs develop rapidly in recent years, they are also facing some problems, such as their connections with politics, shortage of financial support and personnel, and insufficient regulation establishments. In general, the NPOs of mainland China are still in a period of transition. Since the reform and open market, NPOs have had a great opportunity for their development, but they are also experiencing many problems and challenges.
