Etik vid användarinvolvering : Att se individen bakom användaren

Lahti, Angelica, Naraha, Sanna January 2013 (has links)
Nowadays ethics within user involvement will often be linked to the need for users in the development stage of IT-products. It is hard to find ethical guidelines regarding the treatment of users throughout a project process. In this study that is approached by identifying ethical themes, related to treatment of users, and cooperation with users through a litterateur review. The study aims to investigate how practitioners solve challenges they experience in user involvement throughout all the stages of an ITproject. It also aims to give practitioners support in finding and managing ethical challenges. With interviews, practitioners’ current solutions to experienced problemshave been identified and challenges have been verified. Interviewed practitioners did notconsider how they manage ethical challenges. It is obvious challenges often get approached when they appear, rather than get prevented. The study results in a proposal regarding ethical solutions as education and substantiating ethical concepts which can be used as support to solve challenges within user involvement.

Click to act? the (de) mobilizing effect of expressive low-threshold online collective actions :motivational underpinnings and contextual boundaries

Schumann, Sandy 12 June 2014 (has links)
Previous research highlighted that Internet use, in particular online information<p>retrieval and discussions, can facilitate offline collective actions (Boulianne, 2009).<p>Recently, however, the Internet also has been criticized for encouraging low-cost and lowrisk<p>online collective actions—slacktivism—that may have detrimental consequences for<p>groups that aim to achieve a collective purpose (Gladwell, 2010). More precisely, it is<p>argued that actions such as “liking” Facebook pages or posting ingroup-endorsing<p>comments online make users instantly feel good, satisfy their need to act, and derail<p>participation in offline collective actions (Lee & Hsieh, 2013; Morozov, 2009).<p>In my thesis, I assessed this postulation as well as the underlying processes and<p>boundary conditions of the relationship between so-called slacktivist actions and offline<p>collective actions. After introducing a conceptualization of slacktivism as expressive lowthreshold<p>online collective actions, I investigated its influence on offline engagement<p>(Study 1, N = 634; Study 2, N = 76; Study 3, N = 63; Study 4, N = 48). Results indicated that<p>expressive low-threshold online collective actions reduce the willingness to join offline<p>collective actions. This effect was mediated by the satisfaction of group-enhancing<p>motives; members considered the online actions as a substantial contribution to the<p>group's success. The demobilizing impact of expressive low-threshold online collective<p>actions was qualified when members took the online actions in the co-presence of the<p>ingroup, all parties being mutually identifiable (Study 5a, N = 84; Study 5b, N = 99). In this<p>context, obligatory interdependencies between members were enhanced and fostered a<p>spill-over from online to offline collective actions (Study 6, N = 62).

COMPARAÇÕES MICROBIOLÓGICAS DE INDIVÍDUOS EXPOSTOS E NÃO EXPOSTOS AO CRACK: / MICROBIOLOGICAL COMPARISON OF INDIVIDUALS EXPOSED AND UNEXPOSED TO THE CRACK

Casarin, Maísa 07 July 2015 (has links)
Several risk factors have been shown to be able to adjust the establishment and progression of periodontal disease. There is evidence demonstrating that some illegal drugs like cocaine and heroin can influence the pathogenesis of periodontitis. However, there is little evidence investigating the influence of crack in epidemiology and periodontal profile in periodontitis. The aim of this cross-sectional study with a control group was to compare the count of some periodontal pathogens in individuals exposed to crack the control subjects matched for age, sex and exposure to tobacco. Demographic variables were collected, clinics and subgingival biofilm of 155 subjects (74 exposed to crack / 81 controls). The microbiological outcome was count Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa), Prevotella intermedia (Pi), Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) and Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn) measured by real time PCR. The results demonstrated that exposure presented in greatest severity insertion loss (P = 0.000), analyzed by McNemar with the exception of marginal gingival bleeding (P = 0.489) and supragingival calculus (P = 0.504), Wilcoxon. No significant differences were observed in the prevalence of counting 106 cells / ml and the total count of bacteria evaluated between groups through Poisson regression with Variance Robusta. In the analysis of subjects who had only the highest bacterial counts (≥ 75%), both in gross nor adjusted analysis, there was a significantly higher prevalence of individuals in the group exposed to crack. It is concluded that the microbiological profile of Aa, Pg, Pi and Fn did not differ between exposed and unexposed to crack.

Raad, Elie 22 December 2011 (has links)
In recent years, social network sites exploded in popularity and become an important part of the online activities on the web. This success is related to the various services/functionalities provided by each site (ranging from media sharing, tagging, blogging, and mainly to online social networking) pushing users to subscribe to several sites and consequently to create several social networks for different purposes and contexts (professional, private, etc.). Nevertheless, current tools and sites provide limited functionalities to organize and identify relationship types within and across social networks which is required in several scenarios such as enforcing users’ privacy, and enhancing targeted social content sharing, etc. Particularly, none of the existing social network sites provides a way to automatically identify relationship types while considering users’ personal information and published data. In this work, we propose a new approach to identify relationship types among users within either a single or several social networks. We provide a user-oriented framework able to consider several features and shared data available in user profiles (e.g., name, age, interests, photos, etc.). This framework is built on a rule-based approach that operates at two levels of granularity: 1) within a single social network to discover social relationships (i.e., colleagues, relatives, friends, etc.) by exploiting mainly photos’ features and their embedded metadata, and 2) across different social networks to discover co-referent relationships (same real-world persons) by considering all profiles’ attributes weighted by the user profile and social network contents. At each level of granularity, we generate a set of basic and derived rules that are both used to discover relationship types. To generate basic rules, we propose two distinct methodologies. On one hand, social relationship basic rules are generated from a photo dataset constructed using crowdsourcing. On the other hand, using all weighted attributes, co-referent relationship basic rules are generated from the available pairs of profiles having the same unique identifier(s) attribute(s) values. To generate the derived rules, we use a mining technique that takes into account the context of users, namely by identifying frequently used valid basic rules for each user. We present here our prototype, called RelTypeFinder, implemented to validate our approach. It allows to discover appropriately different relationship types, generate synthetic datesets, collect web data and photo, and generate mining rules. We also describe here the sets of experiments conducted on real-world and synthetic datasets. The evaluation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed relationship discovery approach.

Psychiatrická komorbidita uživatelů metamfetaminu / Psychiatric comorbidity of methamphetamine users

Táborská, Vilma January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe cooperation with clients / users of methamphetamine with a severe psychiatric disorder from the schizophrenic spectrum using case management methods. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge of the negative consequences of using methamphetamine, focussing on serious psychiatric comorbidity from the schizophrenic spectrum. It includes research of current studies (both Czech and foreign), information on specific comorbid diagnoses and a description of the case management method, including its specific application within the SANANIM addictology ambulance. The practical part contains three case studies structured into six sections: (1) Initiation of the program entry, (2) The first contact and setting, (3) Entrance evaluation and indication, (4) Establishing a relationship and developing cooperation, (5) Cooperation with other experts and stakeholders (6) The results of cooperation focussed on changes in relation to: comorbid illness, severity and frequency of use of a primary drug and other addictive substances, social situation and relational healing. I chose AA SANANIM clients by a deliberate targeting method based on the following criteria: (1) 7-month co-operation with a minimum of 28 personal contacts (roughly equivalent to once a week), (2)...

Co-creation, innovation and new service development : the case of the videogames industry

Czarnota, Jedrzej January 2016 (has links)
Co-creation is a new approach to the development of videogames, films, television, music and other creative services. It is a manifestation of open innovation paradigm where the firm collaborates with customers in new service development (NSD) activities. Firm can either co-create with individual customers, or with customer communities. Customers may substantially contribute to ideation, design, production, testing, marketing or distribution of a new or existing service. Customer networks, because of their intrinsic and extrinsic motivations, contribute to the development of services. They have a potential to innovate, as their ideas come from the outside of the organization and reflect their need-related knowledge. Via co-creation a firm can also learn about unarticulated or future customer needs, and what kind of service features they would pay the most for. Co-creation has also benefits for marketing. By inviting customers to participate in their activities, firms can capitalize on positive word of mouth and increased value ascribed to their services. They can also engage in new models of raising finance, i.e. crowdfunding. We studied thirteen videogames firms in North America and in Western Europe. Our goal was to gain insight into their NSD activities when customers were also involved. We observed those studios’ co-creation practices, tracked their communications with customers, and spoke to employees in all levels and functions of those firms. We also participated in various related events. We identified three ideal types of co-creation practice: structured, semi-structured, and loose, and ordered the firms into three cases according to these types. We investigate the main factors that determine co-creation’s practice in firms, as well as firms’ ability co-create. This includes a firm’s propensity for and style of co-creation. We identify four relevant co-creation competences which, together with funding arrangements and organizational culture, influence co-creation. We find that co-creation can occur via formal, as well as informal channels. Informal co-creation takes place on the level of individual interactions between employees and customers (and is linked to hidden innovation), while formal relies on the strategic use of contests, volunteer programs, as well as other legally-regulated exchanges. Firms can use co-creation in NSD to source ideas from the customers, as well as to enhance their marketing by redefining customer relationship. Still, co-creation also has a profound transformative effect on the organization itself. We identify the sites within a firm that are affected by co-creation. Those sites go beyond just the content of the service, and include functions of the firm that normally are hidden from customers (back-end and service design functions). The new service development is also affected. Similarly, the way that firm interacts with its customers is transformed, too.

Hälso- och sjukvårdspersonalens upplevelser av att vårda patienter med missbruksproblematik : en litteraturöversikt / Health care professionals’ experiences of caring for patients with substance abuse : a literature review

Forsman, Annie, Forsell, Sofia January 2017 (has links)
Background: In today's society, the word addiction is often stigmatized and has a negative tone. The use of illegal drugs increases in society, which means a greater burden on healthcare. According to the Health Care Act the aim is to promote good health and provide equal treatment for the entire population. The care should be given with respect for the equal worth of all people and the dignity of the individual. Studies show that patients with substance abuse experienced a stigmatized behaviour from healthcare professionals. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to describe the healthcare professionals' experiences of caring for patients with substance abuse. Method: This literature review was made by studying ten scientific articles. The articles have been analysed according to Friberg's method of analysis where the authors found similarities and differences of experiences, which were reported in various main themes and sub themes. Results: Based on the analysis, two main themes were created: Negative experiences and Positive experiences. Negative experiences were divided into four sub themes: Education and knowledge, Fear and lack of confidence, Feeling insufficient and Stigmatization. Discussion: The main findings of the result have been discussed in relation to the background of the literature review and Joyce Travelbee's Human-To-Human Relationship Model as a reference frame.
