abstract: Between the years of 1818 and 1833 the Austrian composer, teacher, and pianist, Carl Czerny (1791–1857) wrote one of his greatest compositions, the f minor Grand Piano Sonata, Op.178 for piano four hands. Overshadowed by composers like Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and possibly because of Czerny’s prolific pedagogical output, this work has received little scholarly attention and is rarely performed. The aim of my paper is first to provide a concise background of the composer for better insight of his ideas and influences and, second to provide a theoretical framework and analysis of the composition to show how this piece is uniquely set in the musical backdrop among early nineteenth century piano music. Further, I will demonstrate performance concepts and ideas of the composition highlighting his instructional mastery. There are two components for this project including a research paper and a lecture recital. I hope this project could bring more musicians and audiences to Carl Czerny’s serious and concert music as he categorized his music. He had been a great model of true artist, he composes, teaches and perhaps not the greatest promoter of his own music like the contemporaries. Dans cette th`ese, nous proposons l'´etude d'un nouveau syst`eme de trafic a´erien, caract´eris´e par un tr`es haut degr´e d'organisation. Dans ce syst`eme, les avions sont assujettis `a suivre des points mobiles fictifs durant leur trajet. Ces points mobiles sont organis´es et s´equenc´es de fa¸con `a ´eviter les conflits entre avions, notamment lorsque ces derniers convergent vers une mˆeme intersection. Cette th`ese propose la mod´elisation d'un probl`eme sous-jacent `a ce paradigme. Ce probl`eme peut ˆetre vu comme la recherche d'un stable dans un graphe infini sous certaines contraintes. Apr`es une ´etude th´eorique de ce probl`eme, nous proposons une heuristique de r´esolution, amenant `a pr´esenter un syst`eme global de trafic a´erien, puis nous exposons des r´esultats num´eriques.

<p>Development and construction of an electronic Breakout box is the main work for this thesis. The box is a part of a test system for the component Fuel Flow Transmitter and should convert signals to be suitable for a frequency counter. A previously constructed Breakoutbox for this purpose is being old and needed to be recreated. So SAAB Aerotech, Aircraft services, the company for the thesis work wanted to construct a new, more sustainable Breakoutbox adapted to a more modern technology. The signals to the box comes from the transmitter and should be converted to suitable signals for a frequency counter so it can show pulse and time difference between the signals. Both a digital and an analog approach for this purpose have been examined in the work. The result was that the analog solution worked better because the conversion could be performed with OP-amplifier instead of algorithms in a microprocessor. Many problems occured in this thesis work that wasn’t included in the beginning so the most important property proved to be the ability to solve this problems. The Breakout box finally met the requirements from the specification and will in the future be used instead of the old Breakout box as a component in the test system for the Fuel Flow Transmitter.</p> / <p>Det här arbetet handlar om att utveckla och konstruera en elektronisk Breakoutbox som används vid tester av bränslekomponenten Fuel Flow Transmitter. En tidigare konstruerad Breakoutbox för detta ändamål började bli gammal och behövde förnyas. SAAB Aerotech avdelning Aircraft Services, som examensarbetet utfördes åt, ville därför konstruera en ny, mer hållbar Breakoutbox som är anpassad till en modernare teknologi. Insignalerna till boxen kommer från transmittern och ska omvandlas så att en frekvensräknare kan visa pulstid samt tidsdifferens mellan dem. Både ett digitalt och ett analogt tillvägagångssätt för att omvandla signalerna har undersökts under arbetets gång. Resultatet blev att den analoga lösningen fungerade bättre för detta ändamål då omvandlingen kunde utföras med OP-förstärkare istället för algoritmer i en mikroprocessor. Den viktigaste egenskapen i arbetet visade sig vara problemlösning då många problem dök upp under arbetets gång som inte var medräknade från början. Breakoutboxen uppfyllde till slut de krav som fastställdes från början. Boxen kommer i fortsättningen att användas istället för den gamla Breakoutboxen som en komponent i bränsletestkedjan för Fuel Flow Transmittern.</p>

<p>Den här högskoleavhandlingen beskriver framtagningen av en modell för en kombinerad styr- och mätutrustning. Syftet med utrustningen är att använda denna för att underlätta vidare utveckling av organisk elektronik vilket är ett av Acreo AB:s forskningsområden. Istället för att till varje ny komponent eller system utveckla ett nytt testsystem kan denna modell användas på ett generellt sätt, vilket sparar värdefull utvecklingstid. I avhandlingen presenteras först de krav som utrustningen ska uppfylla följt av några förslag på lösningar. Därefter väljs ett av förslagen och en grundläggande implementering genomförs med hänsyn mot kraven. Slutligen innehåller rapporten förslag på hur vidare arbete med modellen kan ske.</p> / <p>This bachelor thesis describes the developing of a model for combined steering and measuring equipment. The purpose is to ease further developing of organic electronics, which is one of Acreo AB’s research areas. A test system is needed for every new component or system developed. Instead of constructing a new test environment for every case this equipment will be a general solution that will save valuable developing time. This thesis will first present the requirements followed by some proposal solutions. Thereafter one proposal will be chosen and an essential implementation will be done with consideration of the requirements. Finally the thesis contains suggestions on how to further develop the model.</p>

<p>Parker Hannifin AB i Trollhättan ingår i en koncern som består av 263 fabriker med över 50 000 anställda. Med 300 anställda produceras, utvecklas och säljs huvudkomponenterna i mobila hydraulsystem. Parker i Trollhättan har konstruerat och tillverkat fasta pumpar och motorer för lastvagnar sedan 1980-talet.</p><p>Genom att eliminera aktiviteter som inte är värdeskapande och införa nya system strävar Parker efter att uppnå kortare ledtider, minskat bundet kapitel och ständiga förbättringar. Orsaken till att Parker vill införa konsignation är att det innebär många fördelar. Fördelarna är bland annat minskad administration, minskat bundet kapital och ökad tillgänglighet av detaljer.</p><p>Examensarbetet visar att den största vinsten med konsignationslager för kunden är att det eliminerar flera delar av flödet mellan avtal till betalning. Delar som elimineras är avropsarbete, fysisk mottagning, mottagningsrapport, lagerbokföring, fakturaregistrering, fakturakontroll samt materialrekvisition. För leverantören är vinsten att fritt kunna planera försörjningen till kunden efter sin egen kapacitet. Samtidigt lagras materialet kostnadsfritt hos kunden, Parker i Trollhättan.</p><p>Detaljerna ägs av leverantören då de ligger på lager hos Parker. Resultatet av examensarbetet visar att ägandet av material bör övergå till Parker då arbetsordern avrapporteras. Detaljernas lastbärare består av hel-pallar, där pallarna märks upp av en pallflagga. I examensarbetet har en pallflagga för konsignation skapats. Pallflaggan upplyser om att pallen innehåller konsignationsmaterial som ägs av leverantören. Informationsflödet är tydligt eftersom en fraktsedel skickas med det skickade materialet till Parker. Fraktsedeln kontrolleras med följesedel som fås av leverantören. Information måste också ges ut vid större förändringar i förbrukning så att båda parter känner sig trygga över vad som lagerhålls. Konsignation bygger på ett långsiktigt samarbete och bidrar till en tätare relation mellan företagen. Konsignation innebär en vinna/vinna-situation.</p>

In a wider context this means Aftonbladets potential to contribute to the role of the press as a forum of public debate.</p><p>Material/Method: The study focuses on one week during 1999, 2002 and 2005. Here a quantitative contents analyse with inspiration from conversation (dialogue) analyse has been used.</p><p>Main results: The study shows that the paper has strengthened its position over this period of time. Mainly by taking a more active role in forming and encouraging the debate. The public was given more space in 2002, then in 1999 and 2005. But on the other hand, in 2005 the public got, through the papers more active role, a stronger role themselves and by that, they strengthened their position too. Aftonbladet also broaden the debate to the Internet, whereby enlarging the papers own role as a forum of public debate. The elite temporarily was weakened in 2002 but regained its volume in 2005. Industrial systems often require the acquisition of real-world analog signals for several applications. Various physical phenomena such as displacement, pressure, temperature, light intensity, etc. are measured by sensors, which is a type of transducer, and then converted into a corresponding electrical signal. The electrical signal obtained from the sensor, usually a few tens mV in magnitude, is subsequently conditioned by means of amplification, filtering, range matching, isolation etc., so that the signal can be rendered for further processing and data extraction. This thesis presents the design and implementation of a general purpose op amp used to condition a reflective object sensor’s output. The op amp is used in a non-inverting configuration, as a current-to-voltage converter to transform a phototransistor current into a usable voltage. The op amp has been implemented using CMOS architecture and fabricated in AMI 0.5-µm CMOS process available through MOSIS. The thesis begins with an overview of the various circuits involving op amps used in signal conditioning circuits. Owing to the vast number of applications for sensor signal conditioning circuits, a brief discussion of an industrial sensor circuit is also illustrated. This is followed by the complete design of the op amp and its implementation in the data acquisition circuit. The op amp is then characterized using simulation results. Finally, the test setup and the measurement results are presented. The thesis concludes with an overview of some possible future work on the sensor-op amp data acquisition circuit.

Die koronare Herzkrankheit ist trotz wachsendem Lebensstandard und aller präventiven medizinischen Maßnahmen nach wie vor von hoher medizinischer und ökonomischer Bedeutung. Die Akutform stellt das akute Koronarsyndrom dar. Komplizierend kann sich im Rahmen eines akuten Koronarsyndroms ein kardiogener Schock manifestieren, welcher die häufigste Todesursache für Patienten mit akutem Myokardinfarkt nach Aufnahme ins Krankenhaus darstellt. Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Identifizierung von Risikofaktoren für die Krankenhaus- sowie Langzeitmortalität bei der chirurgischen Revaskularisation von Patienten mit akutem Koronarsyndrom und komplizierendem kardiogenen Schock. Wir führten hierfür eine retrospektive Datenanalyse an 302 konsekutiven Patienten durch, welche im akuten Koronarsyndrom und kardiogenen Schock mittels aortokoronarer Bypassoperation therapiert wurden. Insgesamt wurden 44 präoperative, 18 intraoperative und 28 postoperative binäre Items analysiert. Wir konnten zeigen, dass bei den Höchstrisiko-Patienten die Letalität stark vom präoperativen Risikoprofil und dem Ausmaß des kardiogenen Schocks abhängt. Insbesondere der präoperative Einsatz einer IABP sowie die Verwendung der linken Arteria mammaria als Bypassgefäß wirkten sich positiv aus. Das gute Langzeit-Ergebnis demonstriert den Benefit einer chirurgischen Revaskularisation bei den Patienten mit akutem Koronarsyndrom und kardiogenen Schock mit anderenfalls schlechter Prognose.

Conscious Living is a series of visual solutions to a current and escalating problem in increasingly populated modern societies between its citizens and the environment they inhabit. Documented in the photographs are two dissimilar intentional communities that both strive to operate harmoniously with the surrounding ecology. Originally intending to address the misconception that low impact living is uncomfortable or unsatisfying, this research and my firsthand experience has led to conclusions that are more complex and less didactic. Although the images focus on these two communities, ultimately the intention is to provide the viewer with new perspectives on these niche groups, as well as options to implement low impact alternatives to their lifestyle.
