Développement d'outils de management et actes de langage dans les entreprises de spectacle vivant / Development of Management Tools and Speech Acts in Performing Arts Companies

Caillat, Isabelle 26 September 2011 (has links)
Performing arts companies operate in a context of declining resources and changes in the rules governing the allocation of grants, in accordance with the LOLF (Organic Law relative to the Laws of Finance). Their challenge lies in finding ways to address these constraints. We aim to demonstrate that their development depends on improving the manner in which all parties cooperate, based on the artistic project and taking into account the constraints resulting from the evaluation used by the LOLF, to reveal hidden costs and to develop internal resources. This research is based on the hypothesis that improving the overall performance of organizations depends on a transformative action that operates in three interdependent areas: intervention, management tools, and the speech-Actor. Based on intervention-Research in one theatre and on a qualitative study in another, we have assisted actors in the process of change management and examined the conditions in which managerial development takes place in this type of organization. We analyse how language use in the context of Socio-Economic Intervention modifies the representations and contributes to the elaboration of a new managerial instrument. We propose the use of socio-Economic management tools, serving as a framework for analyzing the organisation, combined with the criteria of evaluation and allocation of public funding as a basis of reflexion on the process of creation and dissemination of shows, as well as a means of building a shared representation between the different actors.

Hansell, Ebba, Harbi, Wurood January 2020 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to shed some light on how some hotels and travel agenciesin the Swedish tourism and hospitality industry have adapted to and managed the effects of theCovid-19 pandemic, particularly in terms of strategic and tactical digital marketing as well as crisismanagement, and the lessons learned from this crisis.Theory: The theoretical foundations for this paper include digital marketing theories, crisismanagement and organizational theory. In marketing theory, the SCRM and the RACE marketingplanning framework models have been applied and in terms of crisis management, the crisismanagement process as well as the crisis curve models have been applied. In terms oforganizational theory, focus has been on organizational learning and the theories single-, doubleand triple-loop learning as well as learning in crisis.Method: This study is a qualitative study of two hotels and two travel agencies based on semistructured interviews. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that the Covid-19 pandemic has forced the respondents tobe flexible and to make short-term adjustments to their marketing tactics. The tactical marketinghas included an increased use of digital channels and an adaptation of their marketing to theircustomers' needs for health and safety. It was too early to assess any changes in strategicmarketing, but some respondents planned to place a greater focus on value concepts such ashealth and safety. In practice, all respondents were engaged in crisis management and most of therespondents had some form of prepared crisis plans, which, however, were not adapted to such anextensive and protracted crisis as the Covid-19 pandemic. All respondents seemed to have gainedgreater insight into the importance of having effective and frequent internal and external crisiscommunication. The external situation has put a great deal of pressure on the respondents and hasgiven them lessons that they might not have acquired under normal circumstances, including acapacity to adapt flexibly and easily to new and changing situations. Although the Covid-19pandemic has caused a lot of stress and anxiety, it has also had positive effects that could triggerchanges in their longer term strategic marketing.

Knowledge management as a sustainable competitive advantage in the steel industry / Pieter Conradie

Conradie, Pieter Jacobus January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this study is to conduct a thorough theoretical study on the relevant aspects involved in knowledge management and organisational learning, and to assess the maturity level of knowledge management within the South African steel industry. Various aspects of knowledge, knowledge management and organisational learning with specific relation to sustainable competitive advantage are discussed in the literature study. During the literature research several factors which either promote or hinder the effective management of knowledge were identified and a list of lessons learned by other successful knowledge focused companies, are discussed. The critical success factors for a successful knowledge management program are also discussed. Knowledge can create a sustainable competitive advantage within an organisation, if successfully applied to make value adding decisions and to enable learning, and if it is applied to make decisions which are superior to that of its rivals across the supply chain. An integrated approach needs to be followed when KM is pursued and the knowledge must be applied to make value added decisions and facilitate learning across all processes in the value chain. The focus must be to retain an organisation’s tacit knowledge as this is a key success factor to ensure a sustainable competitive advantage. The study includes research on whether knowledge management is effectively used as a sustainable competitive advantage in the South African steel industry. The maturity level of the application of knowledge and learning principles implemented within the South African steel industry is assessed and compared to the maturity level of ArcelorMittal, Monlevade, located in Brazil. A survey was designed and distributed to determine the knowledge management and organisational learning maturity levels at two steel facilities of ArcelorMittal in South Africa and one facility in Brazil. The key problem areas as identified through the empirical research are discussed and it is concluded that South African facilities do not effectively use knowledge management as a sustainable competitive advantage. The maturity level of knowledge management in ArcelorMittal, South Africa is low compared to the maturity at Monlevade and rival companies such as Tata and Posco steel. A significant effort needs to be made in order to allow the effective creation, acquisition, sharing and leveraging of knowledge within the South African steel facilities. The key factors which constrain effective knowledge management is related to ineffective Human Resource policies, organisation structure, lack of knowledge exchange forums, collaboration and communication, coaching, and a lack of incentives to share tacit knowledge. It is also evident that knowledge is not seen as a sustainable competitive advantage by many respondents and that they perceive they do not have the time or capacity to transfer knowledge. Ten practical design principles were constructed and a knowledge management framework was developed to guide South African steel companies during the design and execution of a knowledge management programme which will ensure that knowledge management will result into a sustainable competitive advantage. / Thesis (M.B.A.)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2011.

Organisational Learning in Business Model Innovation in the Bottom of Pyramid market : An empirical fieldwork about the market introduction of clean cookstoves in Mozambique

Premer, Stefan, Nansubuga, Brenda January 2018 (has links)
There is a need for cleaner technology initiatives into the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) market to combat the effects of climate change. The difficulty of these initiatives lies in their business model innovation process, as those organisations struggle in finding adequate strategies to establish their business in the BoP market. The BoP market is characterised as highly uncertain, which makes the operation of businesses challenging. Hereby the thesis aims at answering the question on how organisational learning occurs in business model innovation in the BoP market. Through a case study approach, the thesis intends to understand the requirements to establish a functioning business model by analysing organisational learning under business model innovation within the BoP market. This has been realised through a three week field study in Northern Mozambique, observing the market introduction of a cleantech company operating in this context. Hereby the business model innovation process and the environment of operation was analysed. This research contributes to the current discussion of business model innovation in BoP markets by detecting organisational learning as a useful mechanism and adding relevant insights on how organisational learning occurs in this specific context. Therefore the study opens the discussion on organisational learning in business model innovation in the context of the BoP market by asking for further studies on the topic.
