Crematorio de Mascotas “Patitas del Recuerdo”

Arriaga Velasquez, Renzo Jonathan, Brito Angulo, Andrea Cristina, De La Cruz Vasquez, Angie Elizabeth, Farroñay Blanco, Jordany, Morales Bocanegra, Liz Caroll 17 January 2020 (has links)
Currently, pets have become another member of the family and their death is painful but inevitable. There is an increase in families seeking to perpetuate through cremation, the memory of the being that gave them unconditional love. In Lima Metropolitana, approximately 60% of households (1.37 million) have some pets at home, dogs with 74% and cats 39%. Due to the growth of real estate, these families and their pets live in apartments or housing complexes and it is not allowed to bury their pets in the gardens. The goal of our project is to create a comprehensive pet cremation service that provides logistical and emotional support to families during this farewell process that is so sensitive to them. This comprehensive service includes moving family members from their homes to the wake and vice versa, a comfortable place while waiting for the custom-designed urn with their pet's ashes, cremation certificate, support groups and visits to pet shelter. For the start-up of the project, an initial investment of S / 253,741.00 is necessary, with a financing of 40% with bank loan and 60% with contribution from shareholders, where it is estimated that the capital recovery period will be one year approximately. Therefore, we conclude that, according to the study carried out, the Patitas del Recuerdo project is economically viable. / Trabajo de investigación

PETWALK

Blanc Arias, Dan, Cruz Rojas, Nidia, Sánchez Huaman, Carolina, Ushiñahua Meza, Maria Fernanda, Zavala Huaytan, Kevin Omar 08 July 2020 (has links)
Ladra Seguro

Paniagua Palavicini , Gustavo Alonso 01 December 2019 (has links)
In today's world, having a pet is very common in every home. In Metropolitan Lima, 1.37 million households have a pet at home, this represents 55% of Lima households, and it is estimated that by 2021 the figure will reach 1.45 million (Ipsos, 2016). Our research allows us to know that people who have a dog, generally consider the dog as another member of the household, however care for pets sometimes cannot be given due to the lack of time that their owners present and that they even prevent them from being able to walk their pets at least once a day. Therefore, if this does not happen, dogs suffer from stress and somatic diseases that are triggered, in addition to behavior problems that in the long run cause problems for the owners and their homes (Mármol, 2016). This situation gives rise to the creation of "Safe Barks", a project that seeks to formalize a service for dog walkers, relying on state-of-the-art technological tools such as an application that provides pet owners with a safe and good quality service. In addition, a training will be developed that allows the canines to obtain all the exercise and care they require during the time they are away from home. / Trabajo de investigación

Preschool Children's Perceptions of Dogs and Cats as Pets

Reyes, Roberto F. 01 May 1969 (has links)
The perceptions of dogs and cats as held by children were studied in six areas of interest. The subjects were twenty-one males and twenty-one females ranging in age from 3 years 3 months t o 5 years 0 months selected from the Utah State University Nursery School. Responses to six areas of interest: identification, sex characteristics, love and affection, cornparionship , and therapeutic value, were elicited during interviews using a color picture of a mature German Shepard and mature Siamese cat as visual stimuli. A telephone interview with one parent of the subject was made to assess pet contact of the subject. Little difference was found between males and females and their perceptions of the animals. Females, however, were found to be more aware of sibling relationships of the animals than were the males, and were, in general, more verbally responsive. Little difference in perception was found between the older three and four year old subjects. A significant difference was found between the age groups in relation to the animals being friends and playmates with the older subjects stating that the animals could be their friends and playmates more often than the younger subjects. Those subjects who were assessed as having high pet contact were found in general to be less responsive than those with low pet contact. The types of responses given by those subjects with high, medium, or low pet contact, not controlling for sex or age , were found not to differ significantly. However, those with high pet contact i 2 the area of sex characteristics evidenced a lesser degree of knowledge about from where the babies of the animals came. In general the findings gave support to the conclusions of other authors t hat a dog as a pet may be perceived as a therapeu tic device.

The Effects of Animals on Children's Development of Perspective-Taking Abilities

Maruyama, Mika 01 January 2010 (has links)
Although attention to the effects of child-animal interactions on children's development has increased in the last three decades, developmental psychology has not attended to the importance of the effects of animals on children's development. There is a need to consider the possible impacts of animals as significant social partners for children's socioemotional development. The current study, through survey questionnaires and interview methods, investigated whether interacting with animals, especially when children have responsibilities for the welfare of pets and perhaps have formed strong attachments with pets, will promote children's socio-emotional development, specifically their abilities to take the perspective of others. Sixty-five students who attended the local humane society's summer camp program, and students who participated in a monthly humane education program as part of their after school program were invited to participate in the study. All participants completed seven surveys and one telephone or face-to-face interview that were designed to measure their attitudes toward animals and humans, as well as their abilities to take the perspective of others. A linear regression analysis, Chi-Square test, and correlation coefficient test were conducted to assess the quality of interaction with pets on children's humane attitudes toward animals and humans, empathy, as well as their perspective taking abilities. It was found that students who showed stronger attachment toward their pets showed more humane attitudes toward animals and toward humans than students who showed weaker attachment toward their pets. Additionally, it was found that students who showed stronger attachment with their pets had higher levels of social cognitive development (i.e., perspective taking abilities) than students who showed weaker attachment with their pets. Also, significant correlations among variables, such as students' knowledge of animal care, attitudes toward animals and humans, attachment with pets, perspective taking abilities, were found. Lastly, students whose parents show more effective guidance on pet care have more advanced skills of thinking and solving problems in flexible manner than students who do not receive any or less guidance on pet care at home. Findings from the current study suggest the importance of humane education programs as well as effective parental guidance in pet care at home to promote students' knowledge of animal care and humane attitudes toward animals, which influence students' ability to take perspective of others. Promoting such knowledge and attitudes of children may help to promote their empathy and ability to take perspective of others. Having such abilities will alternately help children to have high interpersonal skills, which is a key to have a more successful life in society.

Collares geolocalizadores para mascotas vinculados a una aplicación móvil / Pet locator necklace linked to a mobile application

Aguirre Pacheco, Catherine Fiorella, Aguero Solano, Jean Pooul, Felix Cabanillas, Eliana Brigitte, Landeo Salazar, Jimena Alexandra, Wong Mendoza, Anthony Juseb 01 July 2019 (has links)
Currently, there is a tendency to humanize pets, and each year people spend a greater amount of their income on caring for them, such as health, beauty and fashion. However, along with this growth, there are also losses or thefts of Animals. Only in Perú, around 420,000 pets per year are lost, of wich only 18% return with their owners. The business idea that is being presented consists of a geolocalizer collar for pets that will be linked to a mobile application through wich you can know the extact location of who uses the device, the 24 hours a day. The name of the Company is Geopet, wich will also have a fence with wich a perimeter can be established from where the device can not leave; and in case it happens, an alert will automatically arrive at the owner`s cell indicating wich direction the animal is leaving. However, the functions not only focus on the locator, but to provide something more to users, so it also has a social network in wich pet owners can interact and upload information about their dogs or cats. The main reason for the creation of Geopet is to reduce the loss of pets in the city of Lima Metropolitana and maintain the safety of those who are now a day fundamental part of families. / Trabajo de investigación

Adding realism to abstract simulation games : A study about mechanics in a virtual aquarium

Sunebäck, Isabel January 2020 (has links)
Many simulation games feature realistic mechanics that are highly representational (Adams 2014, p. 37) and closely recreate real activities or processes. Simulation games where the player keep artificial pets in their own environment (e.g. virtual aquarium) often feature abstract mechanics (Adams 2014, p. 37). The question was how players would experience an abstract simulation game where players keep artificial pets (fish), with realistic mechanics that are more representational. A simple game prototype was created based on existing games within the abstract life-simulation genre, which respondents playtested for 15 minutes. Data was collected through a short survey prior to each playtest, and semi-structured interviews after respondents had tested the artefact. Results indicated (among other things) that it was possible to translate many affordances of real aquariums and fish into mechanics. Whether they were perceived or not depended on the personality of the respondent, and did not have any correlation between knowledge about fish or gaming habits.

Husdjurens betydelse för hälsan hos äldre personer som bor hemma   : En litteraturöversikt / The significance of pets for the health of elderly people living at home : A litterature review

Al Yasein, Maisoun, Plaksina, Oxana January 2023 (has links)
Background: Until 2050, the global population over 60 years old is expected to double, and the number of people over 80 years old is expected to triple. The UN launched a program for healthy aging (2021–2030) to reduce health disparities and improve the quality of life for older people. Older individuals increasingly want to age in their own homes, as home represents an important aspect of their security and freedom. Pets, especially dogs and cats, are becoming more common in the home environment. Nurses play a crucial role in home healthcare by understanding the significance of pets and providing high-quality person-centered care. Aim: The purpose was to describe the significance of pets for the health of elderly people living at home. Method: A literature review based on ten scientific articles. The search was conducted in databases such as Cinahl Complete and PubMed. Friberg's analytical model was utilize. Results: The results showed that the health of elderly people was positively influenced by pets. For example, owning a pet can increase physical activity and improve health behaviors, boost self-esteem, provide love and comfort, as well as increase social interactions, and reduce social isolation and loneliness. The study also mentioned some challenges and risks associated with pet ownership, such as concerns about financial costs, worries about the pet's future if the owner is unable to care for them, the risk of falls, and the need för an adapted living environment for both the owner and the pet.     Conclusions: Pets can have a positive impact on the health and well-being of elderly people. It is important for nurses to consider this knowledge and utilize it in their work to promote the health of elderly people and prevent illness through pet-related activities and interventions.
