To learn again fractions by means of pedagogical workshops: challenge for initial formation / Reaprender fraÃÃes por meio de oficinas pedagÃgicas: desafio para a formaÃÃo inicial.

Maria Josà Costa dos Santos Barros 14 May 2007 (has links)
FundaÃÃo de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Cearà / The primary concern of the present research is fractionsâ content, focusing on the relevance of such mathematical content to logical-mathematical acquisition. Firstly, a discussion on pedagogueâs early instruction is done, since this professionalâs grounding enables her to teach Mathematics in early series and so it needs to be improved. The aim of this study is to observe how Fedathiâs Sequence methodology, connected with Didactic Engineering, can contribute to enhance the teaching and learning practices of fractions, theoretically and methodologically supported by pedagogical workshops and by the TelEduc Platform. Therefore, the main question this work answers is whether Fedathiâs Sequence methodology, connected with Didactic Engineering, contributes to decrease lacks in the apprehension of the concept of fraction. Participative research methodology scaffolded this work, since it was considered necessary to comprehend the action and participation of investigated subjects. These were students of the 7th semester of the Pedagogy course from the Faculty of Education belonging to Universidade Federal do Ceara. The analysis pointed to the following results: a) the students-teachers have a limited background on fractions; b) they do not know available methodologies to teach Maths; c) there is little contact with information technologies. Thus, the researchers worked to operate real changes in their relationship with fractionsâ content, favoring the attainment of new schemes and restructuring other consolidated ones. It was possible to provide a discussion on the knowledge they already had and the knowledge they thought they had, observing these concerns within the re-elaboration of a new discourse of theirs. It was concluded, during the whole groundwork, that the investigated subjects, that is, future teachers made explicit the need for more study on the subject, in order to develop autonomy and a full reflection on the relation between docentâs theory and practice.

Imagens do hospício vazio : fotografia, pesquisa e intervenção

Maurente, Vanessa Soares January 2010 (has links)
This thesis was inspired by the desire to pursue ways to perform research and intervention through photography, and in the recognition of the possibilities of constructing new practices in the field of mental health. It took place in the context of the Oficinando em Rede research and extension project – a partnership between the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the Integrated Center for Psychosocial Care of Children and Adolescents (CIAPS) of the São Pedro Psychiatric Hospital in Porto Alegre, Brazil. This project develops technological workshops – on internet, robotics, photography and video – with hospital workers and young patients. During the photography workshops, we observed that giving cameras to patients and allowing them to use the equipment freely and to produce their own inscriptions generated a feeling of unease in the hospital personnel, due to the torsion of legitimized positions in which patients were usually viewed as objects of specialized medical knowledge. This was due to the fact that photography maintains a similarity relationship with reality which differentiates it from other artistic practices in mental health (such as painting, writing and drawing). On the other hand, if the legitimacy of photography is warranted by the belief in its capability to reproduce reality, exercises of authorship through it are frequently invisible. Our aim was to discuss the ways in which authorship is exercised in the institutional context, and to study the self-experience of workers and patients with regard to the discourses and practices in mental health. In this context, we formulated four propositions for this thesis. The first, theoretical, is based on the concepts of Michel Foucault and consists of establishing relationships between self-experience and exercises of authorship. The second one, also theoretical, aims to discuss the peculiarities of photography through the theories of Gilbert Simondon and consists in analyzing individuation processes in photography. The third, designated as methodological, is to produce knowledge about photography as a research and intervention strategy. The fourth one, empirical, consists of building ways to exercise authorship through photography workshops in the CIAPS. Our field work consisted of organizing photography workshops directed to workers (permanent and third-party) and patients of the CIAPS (outpatients and inpatients). These workshops were divided into three stages: 1) sensitization to the symbolic condition of photography and to the possibility of exercising authorship through photography; 2) requiring subjects to photograph based on the question “What is the CIAPS?” and 3) verbal expression about the experience and photographed images. Our analysis was based on the way in which the proposal was received, on the process of photographing, on the possibilities of exercises of authorship within the institution and on the various readings of the subjects and researchers concerning the photographed images. The photographs and discussions revolved around themes such as imprisonment, contradictions in public policies on mental health and questioning on the role of the psychiatric hospital. Photography was shown to be powerful not only due to its symbolic condition, which emphasized exercises of authorship, but also to its iconic and index positions, which allowed analysis and discussions with workers, patients and the hospital’s ethics committee. Based on this, we believe that the potential of working with photography in research and intervention resides in the construction of strategies which can encompass its epistemiological complexity.

IMAGENS NA EDUCAÇÃO: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A(S) CONCEPÇÃO(ÕES) DE NATUREZA EM ANÚNCIOS PUBLICITÁRIOS / IMAGES IN EDUCATIO: A STUDY ABOUT NATURE CONCEPTIONS IN ADVERTISEMENTS

Richter, Luciana 09 May 2008 (has links)
Considering the expressive presence of publicity images nowadays, this research was proposed aiming at understanding deeply the meaning of advertisement with nature images through pedagogical workshops. The study consists of a qualitative analysis besides being a case study. Considering that advertisements are widely spread in our society, the Cultural Studies were chosen to guide this research. The workshop tried to foster the participants understanding in relation to a critical images reading, particularly the advertising ones, as well as to discuss and reflect about nature conceptions. 11 workshop implementations occurred, working with images for students of Teachers Formation Courses and also professionals of the Education area, totalizing 310 participants. The workshop made possible countless discussions and reflections about the role we educators represent for he media and how we as consumers answer to he attractions we are exposed to. In the advertisement reading, some privileged only the images, others the relation between textual elements and images, while others exposed what they felt in front of the advertisement. The discussions about nature conceptions showed some divergences, but there was convergence in affirming that nature can be used to sell all kind of things, and the way it is exposed in the media most of times do not demonstrate that there are environmental problems. Through the workshop evaluation form, it was possible to perceive that the participants were touched to the use of images in the classroom, but there are some limitations as the school table of contents and time. This research fits in the line of research Curriculum, Education and School Practices in the Post- Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM).

PERSPECTIVAS DE PROFESSORES E ESTUDANTES EM RELAÇÃO À UTILIZAÇÃO DE TEXTOS DE DIVULGAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA(TDC) EM OFICINAS PEDAGÓGICAS DE GENÉTICA / TEACHERS AND STUDENTS PERSPECTIVES IN RELATION TO THE USE OF SCIENCE DIVULGATION TEXTS (TDC) IN PEDAGOGICAL WORKSHOPS ABOUT GENETICS

Silva, Graziele Baldoni da 25 April 2008 (has links)
The way Biology contents are taught at school are generally limited to the simple accomplishment of textbooks table of contents and the knowledge is presented as ready, absolute and truthful. This teaching crystallization that is based only on a noncontextualized knowledge transmission in a way provokes a disconnection between what is learned at school and the students reality. Considering that, we suggested the use of Science Divulgation Texts (TDC) through pedagogical workshops, aiming at putting together social problems and the school context, as well as to foster experiences that make possible a critical and significant reading of the information. Three workshops were made up: Genetics in the media: stem cells; Stem cells: do they save?; and Cloning: producing franksteins?. Different aspects related to this theme are discussed in the workshops. The workshops were offered to 89 school teachers, 77 students from UFSM and also students from the public education system in Santa Maria city. The data informed by the implementations was collected through two tools: Field Diary and Questionnaire and they were analyzed through the discourse analysis perspective. It was evidenced through the registers and participants narratives that most of them were favorable to the workshops development, because they affirmed that they proportioned a space of reflection, experience exchange and problematization of Science contents. The TDC reading is relevant in way that most of the participants attributed sense to the texts read, relating them to the context lived by them, building the most varied discourses. However, a non-critical and centered on traditional models reading, besides the attachment to determined behaviors and conceptions of some participants were limits to be overcome in the workshops and also in the education process in a general way. We believe that the overcome of such barriers are to develop more dialogic and problematizing practices that stimulate a critical sense and prepare people properly to the life in society. This study fits in the Line of Research: Curriculum, Education and School Practices in the Post-Graduate Program in Education at UFSM.

To deepen this approach we elected as its general objective understanding, from our experience, as the implementation of Pedagogical Workshops and the support of a Solidarity Network can contribute to the Development of Community neighborhood Areial and its surroundings, in the municipality of Mamanguape, Paraíba, Brazil. For this, we have three specific objectives: 1) Present the phenomenon through the record of the history of the neighborhood, the fair of the Areial and the deployment of the project Ecofeira Iande; 2) Describe on the concepts relating to the promotion of Community Development and Solidarity Network; 3) Reflect on the Community Development of the Areial through relationship learners X community. The theme is very relevant, because combined with the lack of scientific literature on this subject and, motivated by professional work developed by our site, we chose the case study, using the methodology of qualitative and subjectivist, involving the interpretation of data collected through searches, documentary and field. For tell this story, we use in some titles, the metaphor of a journey in the direction of the site through a vehicle: the Pedagogical Workshops (OPs) and its support strategy (Network of Solidarity and Support). We have as resulted, the finding that, in spite of almost 63 years of existence of the neighborhood and almost 20 years of existence of a fair public site, the current index of Community Development (IDC) the neighborhood is small, however, the project Ecofeira Iande has been collaborating with the mobilization of its residents, merchants and local institutions in favor of changes related to CommunityDevelopment, through actions aimed at improving the environment and the generation of jobs and income in the neighborhood and in its surroundings.

Firstly, a discussion on pedagogue’s early instruction is done, since this professional’s grounding enables her to teach Mathematics in early series and so it needs to be improved. The aim of this study is to observe how Fedathi’s Sequence methodology, connected with Didactic Engineering, can contribute to enhance the teaching and learning practices of fractions, theoretically and methodologically supported by pedagogical workshops and by the TelEduc Platform. Therefore, the main question this work answers is whether Fedathi’s Sequence methodology, connected with Didactic Engineering, contributes to decrease lacks in the apprehension of the concept of fraction. Thus, the researchers worked to operate real changes in their relationship with fractions’ content, favoring the attainment of new schemes and restructuring other consolidated ones. It was possible to provide a discussion on the knowledge they already had and the knowledge they thought they had, observing these concerns within the re-elaboration of a new discourse of theirs. It was concluded, during the whole groundwork, that the investigated subjects, that is, future teachers made explicit the need for more study on the subject, in order to develop autonomy and a full reflection on the relation between docent’s theory and practice / O ponto de fulcro desta pesquisa é o conteúdo das frações, destacando-se a relevância deste conteúdo matemático para a aquisição do conhecimento lógico-matemático.
