Research on Customer¡¦s Environment Strategy and Supplier¡¦s Environmental commitment in automobile industry.

Wu, Shu-Chin 31 May 2012 (has links)
The Green factory mark system validated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs will be officially launched in 2012. The assessment of green plants covers not only in the prohibition of harmful substances during the manufacturing process, reduction of unnecessary waste and promotion of environmental protection policies, but also extends to the whole supply chain from raw materials, parts suppliers to proceed with the environmental protection policies, and ultimately helps to achieve the objective of the green supply chain. However, there are no related laws to require part suppliers to adhere to green production plant objective currently in car industry. This study focuses on how customers affect and influence suppliers¡¦ environmental commitment based on its own environmental strategies and environmental performance requirements. The study is mainly from the constructs of customer¡¦s environmental strategy and customer¡¦s environmental performance requirements which includes moderators of contract, evaluation, and encouragement to investgae the relationship with suppliers environmental commitment. The study takes 246 suppliers of Honda Taiwan Motor Co., Ltd as sampling and utilizes Likert five-level scaling method from 1 to 5, from ¡uStrongly disagree¡v¡B¡uDisagree¡v¡B¡uNeither agree nor disagree¡v¡B¡uAgree¡v¡B¡uStrongly agree¡vto confirm hypothesises of the study. According to the results of this study, the predictive factors for improving suppliers¡¦s environmental commitment are customer environmental performance requirements; customer environmental strategy and contract in order. The statistical results are significant. In other words, suppliers will raise its environmental commitment according to its major customers¡¦ environmental performance requirements and environmental strategies. Suppliers also agree that contract restrictions signed with major customers would enhance and raise its environmental commitment. The study takes Honda Taiwan Motor Co., Ltd. as an example trying to see how to raise suppliers¡¦ environmental commitment without any laws reinforcement and expects to set the standard for other companies in Taiwan.

Development of Quality Assurance Methods for Performance-Based Maintenance Contracts for Roadway Assets

Shelton, Debora Brooke 2010 December 1900 (has links)
Performance-based Maintenance Contracts (PBMCs) are increasingly being used for roadway maintenance as an alternative to method-based specifications. However, this technique is still relatively new and several issues have not been adequately addressed in the literature. The paper provides a systematic process for developing quality assurance measures to be used within these contracts. The process addresses key issues, including the development of performance standards and targets, a method for monitoring the roadside performance, and a methodology for developing pay adjustment factors. The developed performance standards presented in the paper are easily measured and assigned grades of pass, fail, or not applicable. The required sample size is a function of the project characteristics, including performance variability along the project, required confidence level, and allowable tolerance. Finally, the pay adjustment curves are a function of the initial project LOS, the target LOS, and the maintenance cost to achieve the target LOS.

Dagens inneklimat : En granskning av svenska riktlinjer för rådande inneklimat / Indoor climate today : A review of the Swedish guidelines for the prevailing indoor climate

Benitez, Miguel, Goyeryd, Adam January 2015 (has links)
An actual question is the importance of having a good and healthy indoor climate. The workplace need to have a good indoor climate, so that people can thrive and work effectively. Since people spend most of thier lives indoors, it is important to avoid being negatively affected by the internal environment. Buildings have the main purpose to protect people but many buildings cause health problems of various kinds.  There is a poor knowledge of what a good indoor climate really mean is. This can, for example, cause communication problems that complicate the negotiation where the customer and the company have different concepts of what indoor climate is. The purpose of this project is to ease the negotiation process by defining the meaning of the indoor climate and commonly used terms. This will help the customer and the company to understand the meaning of requirements and guidelines by starting from common definitions and conditions. This project has been written based on general definitions of the factors that affect the indoor climate as well as descriptions of the guidelines. The problem that emerges in agreement with the customers, because of lacking information, has been identified in discussions with experts. Definitions and descriptions contained in this essay will be used to assist during the negotiations and ease the communication between the client and contractor. The project has led to some conclusions that are worth thinking about: The lack of knowledge can aggravate negotiations; therefore it is important that the information is mediated in a clear and educational way. The guidelines are there to assist the planning or assessment, but they should be treated with caution because of the limited update of these.

Kan kreativitet manipuleras? : En experimentell studie om hur prestationskrav under tidspress påverkar kreativiteten / Can creativity be manipulated? : An experimental study on how performance requirements during explicit time constraint affect creativity

Agestad, Emma, Lindgren, Mia January 2017 (has links)
Creativity is a popular term that frequently occurs in the working life. Despite its popularity, the possibility to be creative varies a lot between work places, and many employees feel that they do not have a creative outlet in their work role. The purpose of the present study was to examine how different conditions could affect creativity. The two questions that this study intended to answer was: a) Can individuals' creative performance be manipulated by performance requirements during explicit time constraint? b) Can individuals' self-rated creativity be manipulated by performance requirements during explicit time constraint? An experimental study was conducted with a total of 89 participants randomly distributed into two groups. Experimental group 1 had a total of 47 participants, of which 23 women (48.9%) and Experimental group 2 had a total of 42 participants, of which 15 women (35.7%). The experiments were conducted individually with one participant at a time. The measuring instruments used were Guilford's (1967) Alternative Uses Task to measure creativity and Mini-IPIP6 to control for personality. The current item used in Alternative Uses Task was a coffee mug that the participants were assigned to write down as many alternative uses for as possible. Experimental group 1 had a performance requirement to write down a minimum of 15 alternative uses and an explicit time constraint. Experimental group 2 did the same task, but without performance requirement and no explicit time constraint. The collected data was analysed with IBM SPSS and the tools used for the analyses was Pearson's correlation (r), independent t-test and Repeated Measures ANOVA. The results showed a) that Experimental group 1 produced a higher number of creative ideas than Experimental group 2, but that Experimental group 2 had a significantly higher creative quality on their ideas than Experimental group 1. Further the results showed b) that it was not possible to manipulate the self-rated creativity when the personality trait Openness was controlled for.

How are students’ experiences and coping with stress affected by personality?

Johansson, Linnéa, Dzirlo, Sabina January 2020 (has links)
Students interpret and handle experiences and problems differently. Something that can affect students’ interpretations and management is personality. The study’s purpose is to examine students at Örebro University interpretations of stress, both general stress and performance requirements, and social support, in relationship to coping strategies. Further, the purpose is to see if personality dimensions from five-factor theory affect students’ experiences of stress in relation with coping strategy. Data were collected through surveys that were published on social media for the students, and consists of questions from established measuring instruments. 226 students answered the questionnaire. Results showed that students experience average stress, and high social support, and tend to use coping strategies for low performance requirements and low social support. Personality dimensions from the five-factor theory partly affect the interprets of general stress, performance requirements and social support, and tendencies of using coping strategies. The conclusion is that personality dimensions from five-factor theory is partly a reason why students’ interpretations and stress management differ.

FÖRFRÅGNINGSUNDERLAG-TOTALENTREPRENAD : BYGGNATION AV DUBBELSPÅRFUNKTION GODSSTRÅKET HALLSBERG- DEGERÖN DELEN STENKUMLA-DUNSJÖ

Mofti, Wirya January 2014 (has links)
Turnkey contract is a commonly used form of contract for procurement of projects, however not so common when it comes to rail infrastructure, because railway installations are so complex and makes greater demands on availability and traffic safety. Performance contracts have occurred in railway projects for a long time. The Swedish Transport Administration has received directives from the government to push for increased productivity and increased degree of innovation in the construction industry. The Swedish Transport Administration has the ambition to transform its role as a client to create the conditions for the market and its driving forces for increased innovation and productivity by handing over a greater commitment and responsibility to the contractors. A strategic primary focus is to increase the proportion of turnkey projects within the construction industry. Contracts relating to investments between 25-500 million will be procured through turnkey projects. The purpose of this report is to identify how the market views the specifications with emphasis on object-specific technical description, its calculability, structure and clarity. The section that has been analyzed in this report is the construction of the freight line between Stenkumla - Dunsjö that is part of the whole distance between Hallsberg - Degerön. Interviews were conducted with entrepreneurs who have participated in the bidding contest. The purpose of the interviews was to get the contractors' views on the specifications that can be taken into account in future projects. Responses will be analyzed by the Swedish Transport Administration and taken into account for the development of future specifications in turnkey contracts for the construction industry. OTB for the route Stenkumla - Dunsjö, entrepreneurs are not allowed to come up with innovative solutions, since the specifications contain many technical solutions specified by the Swedish Transport Administration. The contractors want more freedom in the specifications in order to provide innovative solutions. One reason that there are many technical solutions in this project is because, the project was meant to be procured as performance contract and Traffic Authority had already planned a lot before they decided to purchase it as Turnkey contract.

Peñaloza, Guillermina Andrea January 2015 (has links)
In the construction industry falls from height are one of the most frequent types of serious accidents. There are a number of factors that contribute for such falls, such as the lack of training for workers, layout constraints, and the lack of fall protection barriers. Although the use of temporary edge protection systems (TEPS) is an important measure to prevent falls from height in construction sites, the literature does not present a comprehensive set of requirements for those systems. Safety and health standards in construction, both in Brazil and abroad, have several requirements to which the SPP should meet. However, most of those standards are limited to structural strength and geometric configuration requirements, neglecting efficiency and flexibility, as well as do not address the assembly and disassembly processes. The limitations of requirements considered in several sources, and the lack of methods to verify the conformance of TEPS to the requirements established in standards (and other relevant requirements) create difficulties for stakeholders, such as government supervisory bodies, construction companies, and the workforce involved in the installation of TEPS. The aim of this study is to propose a set of performance requirements for temporary edge protection systems. These requirements have been identified from various sources, such as standards, direct observation od assembly and disassembly operations, analysis of TEPS design, and interviews with specialists. Thus, a set of 33 requirements were identified: 15 related to safety, 12 to efficiency and 6 to flexibility. Based on those requirements 9 TEPS solutions were evaluated in 26 construction sites. Those solutions were divided into three categories according to the materials used: metal, wood and mixed. The main contributions of this investigation refers to the development of a broad set of requirements, the analysis of the relationships between those requirements, indicating that these can either reinforce each other or be in conflict, and the proposal of a protocol that makes it clear the assumptions made at each evaluation stage.
