Solución Web para la automatización de los procesos del curso de taller de proyectos

La Escuela de Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad Ricardo Palma ofrece dentro de su malla curricular el Curso de Taller de Proyectos, único en su forma de organización y trabajo vertical. En este curso se desarrollan proyectos de software, realizados por alumnos de diferentes ciclos y experiencia académica, los cuales desempeñan todos los roles que un proyecto requiere tal como documentador, programador, analista, diseñador, gestor de base de datos y gerente de proyecto, a lo largo del 5to ciclo y 9no ciclo de la carrera. Dicho curso empieza con la presentación de una propuesta de proyecto, por parte del alumno que desempeñara el rol de Gerente del Proyecto, el cual debe definir una problemática real en cualquier empresa o ámbito y su respectiva propuesta de solución de software. Seguidamente la Escuela, mediante un Comité Evaluador, aprueba la propuesta y comienzan a conformar los equipos de trabajo con los demás alumnos. Terminada la conformación de equipos el proyecto es desarrollado en los próximos 4 meses que dura el curso, con entregables de por medio y una calificación final al producto y al desempeño de cada integrante del equipo. Contradictoriamente, desde el inicio hasta el final del taller, el curso está organizado sin el uso de una herramienta de software, ocasionando que los involucrados realicen un trabajo excesivo y se retrase el inicio normal del curso. Es por ello que el propósito de la presente tesis es la mejora de los procesos del taller mediante una solución web que permita la automatización de sus procesos más relevantes y críticos, reduciendo las demoras y trabajos engorrosos en cada semestre académico. The School of Engineering at the University Ricardo Palma offers in its curriculum the Course Project Workshop, unique in its form of organization and vertical work. In which software projects, carried out by students from different cycles and academic experience, all of which play roles as a project requires documenter, programmer, analyst, designer, database manager and project manager, to develop throughout the 5th and 9th cycle race. The course begins with the presentation of a project proposal, by the student will play the role of Project Manager, which must define a real problem for any company or its respective field and proposal software solution. Then the School by an Evaluation Committee approves the proposal and begins to form work teams with other students. Forming teams finished the project is developed in the next four months, with deliverables through and a final grade the product and the performance of each team member. Contradictorily from the beginning to the end of the workshop is organized without the use of a software tool, causing the excessive work involved and conduct normal course start is delayed. That is why the purpose of this thesis is to improve processes through a web shop solution that enables automation of its most important and critical processes, reducing delays and cumbersome work in each semester.

Effekter av Robotic Process Automation : En fallstudie om RPA:s potential för offentlig sektor

Organisations in the public sector are facing tough challenges and need to review alternative ways of working. Robotic process automation (RPA) is a technology that is becoming a more common way to automate processes in order to become more efficient as an organization. However, the majority of studies on RPA are focused on companies in the private sector. Through a qualitative case study, we investigate the effects that RPA has on a organisation in the public sector. This study finds effects such as time savings, liberation from tedious tasks, reduced number of employees and increased productivity. Preparation before the implementation of RPA, in particular process mapping, has proven to be a factor that has a significant impact on the outcomes. In general, RPA is perceived as something positive within the studied case. The study shows that there is potential in automating public sector processes with RPA, however there seems to be some challenges with RPA as well, such as the loss of human social interpretation when a human is replaced by a robot.

The aim of this master thesis is a theoretical summary of resources and available tools for real-time deployment. The master thesis briefly introduces the Siemens PCS 7 DCS system and the APC library tools (functional blocks). For these types of regulators, their proper use is discussed.

Inhalt In diesem Beitrag wird die Kombination von virtuellen und experimentellen Methoden im Produktentwicklungsprozess am Beispiel einer Handhabungseinheit zur automatisierten Ablage technischer Textilien thematisiert. Um das Automatisierungspotenzial in den Fertigungsprozessen zum Aufbau von Faserverbundstrukturen zu erschließen, entwickelt das Institut für integrierte Produktentwicklung (BIK) seit längerem Handhabungseinheiten für technische Textilien. Eine automatisierte Fertigung soll die Reproduzierbarkeit und die Qualität von Bauteilen erhöhen, um z.B. den Beanspruchungen bei größer werdenden Rotorblättern von Windenergieanlagen gerecht zu werden. Ein weiteres Ziel der Automatisierung besteht in der Reduzierung von Prozesszeiten und Fertigungskosten, um den Fertigungsstandort Deutschland in Zukunft attraktiv zu gestalten. Die erfolgreiche Umsetzung der Produktentwicklung erfolgt am BIK unter kombinierter Anwendung von virtuellen und experimentellen Methoden. Insbesondere bei der Handhabung von technischen Textilien, deren biege- und schubweichen Materialeigenschaften nur mit hohem Aufwand in einer virtuellen Umgebung abgebildet werden können, ist das Durchführen von experimentellen Methoden bei komplex ablaufenden dynamischen Prozessen notwendig, um nicht vorhersehbares Materialverhalten zu identifizieren.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) är en ny teknik med hög potential för organisationer som vill göra stora tids- och kostnadsbesparingar samt möjliggöra för deras anställda att fokusera  på mer värdeskapande arbetsuppgifter. Men med ny teknik tillkommer det nya utmaningar. För  att undvika dessa utmaningar krävs det en bra blandning av rätt metoder, tekniker och  människor. Studien har identifierat kända utmaningar organisationer har vid implementering  av RPA samt varför konsulter spelar en viktig roll vid en framgångsrik implementering. I  studien har en kvalitativ metodansats tillämpats för att få en djup förståelse över ämnet.  Studiens slutsats visar på att organisationer har utmaningar med att sätta upp en intern RPA organisation, förståelsen för vilka resurser som behövs, involvera IT-avdelningen samt valet  av process. Utifrån dessa utmaningar visar studien på att konsultens roll är betydande för  organisationer för att hantera kända utmaningar vid implementering av RPA. / Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is demonstrating remarkable potential in enterprise deployments, saving thousands of hours each year and enabling people to focus on higher-value work. However, with technology comes new challenges. To deal with these challenges, a good mix of people, methods and techniques is required. This study has identified common challenges organizations have when implementing RPA as well as why consultants play an important role in successful implementation.A qualitative method waschosen to interpret and understand the topic in depth. The conclusion shows that organizations have challenges in setting up an internal RPA organization, the understanding of what resources are needed, involving the IT department and the choice of process to automate. Based on these challenges, this study shows that the consultant's role is important for organizations to handle common challenges in implementing RPA

Nya perspektiv på HR, Human relations & Artificiell intelligens : En kvalitativ studie där AI-enheter inkluderas i HR-perspektivet.

För nästan hundra år sedan, lades grunden för det som senare kom att benämnas som human relations. HR-perspektivet med Mayos “Hawthornsstudie” i spetsen, innebar ett skifte i hanterandet och synsättet av människor i organisationer. Taylorismens organisatoriska kontroll och effektivitet byttes ut mot människors behov och välmående. Numera är HR-diskursen mångfacetterat och dess nuvarande existens ses som relativt självklar i många sammanhang. Men i och med den nya teknologiska eran, som numera innefattar artificiella intelligenta (AI)-enheter, gör att HR-perspektivet inte bör negligera dessa nya aktanters involvering. Med hänsyn till AI-enheternas ökade inkludering i organisationers och individers vardagliga leverne, räcker det nuvarande HR-perspektivet inte till. Förbiseendet av en AI-enhets inflytande på individer och organisationer i kombination med att det nuvarande HR-perspektivet inte beaktar eller kan hantera en ny “aktör” i sammanhanget, ansåg vi vara högst problematiskt. Problematiken synliggörs inte minst i våra två exemplifierande fall Trelleborg och Kungsbacka kommun, där AI-enheter skapat oro och medfört konsekvenser för både organisationen och individen. Uppsatsens huvudsakliga syfte har varit att bidra till en ökad förståelse för hur en AI-aktant bör inkluderas och beaktas i det nuvarande HR-perspektivet. Uppsatsens bidrag till HR-området gjordes genom att presentera ett nytt HR-AI perspektiv, som inkluderar AI-enheter på ett högst medvetet sätt. Det befintliga HR-områdets breda spektrum, gjorde att vi valde att utgå från särskilda HR-grundantaganden, som i sin tur underbyggdes av en redogörelse för HR-områdets vitala delar. Genom inkluderandet av Latours Actor Network Theory (ANT) i kombination med en kvalitativ metod med en hermeneutisk ansats, möjliggjordes därmed en resa in i rhizomatiska resonemang, som i slutändan ledde fram till det nya perspektivet, HR-AI.  Vårt nya HR-AI perspektiv belyser därmed AI-enheter som centrala aktanter i sammanhanget, vilket gör att det nya perspektivet betraktar och behandlar AI-enheter som komplexa samt unika aktanter med nio unika behov. AI-enheternas behov bör i sin tur matchas med organisationens och individens behov, för att därigenom uppnå en “win-win-win” situation. Exemplifierande av fallen i kombination med uppsatsens analys, visar därmed att AI:s behov bör tillgodoses och beaktas som vitala för en organisation och individ. HR-AI perspektivet innehåller även flertalet praktiska “goda idéer”, för hur aktörer kan hantera och inkludera den nya medarbetaren.

Scalability in Startups : A Case Study of How Technological Startup Companies Can Enhance Scalability

Startups and new businesses are important for the development of technology, the economy, and the society as a whole. To be able to contribute towards this cause, startups need to be able to survive and grow. It is therefore important for startups to understand how they can scale up their business. This led to the purpose of this study: to determine success factors for technological startup companies to increase their scalability. Five areas were identified to have an impact on the scalability of a business, namely; partnerships, cloud computing, modularity, process automation and business model scalability. Within these areas, several subareas were found, which were certain areas of interest within the theory. Together, these subareas helped answer how companies can work with scalability in each area. These areas, and their subareas, went into an analytical model that formed the structure of the empirical and analytical parts of the study. The study is a multicase study, consisting of 15 B2B companies, of varying size and maturity, whom all offered software as a part of their solutions. The study concludes that there are six important factors for succeeding with scalability. An important factor to succeed with scalability is to adopt partnerships, since this will allow for outsourcing, and give access to resources, markets and customers. It is also concluded that cloud computing is a very scalable delivery method, but that it requires certain success factors, such as working with partners, having a customer focus, having the right knowledge internally, and having a standardized product. Further, modularity can enable companies to meet differing customer needs since it increases flexibility, can expand the offer, and make sales easier. The study concludes that process automation increases the efficiency in the company, and can be done through automating a number of processes. Focusing both internally and externally is another important factor for success, by allowing companies to develop a scalable product that is demanded by customers. Lastly, a scalable business model is found to be the final objective, and that it is important to work with the other areas to get there, something that includes trial and error to find what works best for each individual company. The six important factors formed the basis for the recommendations. The study recommend that startups should utilize partnerships and process automation. Startups should also be aware of, and work with, the success factors of cloud computing, use modularity when selling to markets with different customer needs, automate other processes before automating sales, keep customer focus when developing the product, and work actively to become more scalable.

Цель работы: автоматизация процессов, протекающих во время спортивной деятельности клуба, путем внедрения системы управления спортивными клубами SAP Sports One. Объектом исследования данной выпускной работы является система управления спортивными клубами SAP Sports One. Предметом исследования является бизнес-процесс прогнозной аналитики предстоящих матчей футбольного клуба. Научная значимость заключается в оценке эффективности использования методологии «Agile» для процесса внедрения системы SAP Sports One с помощью моделей системной динамики. Также в работе было проведено сравнение альтернатив для внедрения через метод анализа иерархий. Практическая значимость заключается в автоматизации процессов, протекающих во время спортивной деятельности клуба, путем внедрения системы управления спортивными клубами SAP Sports One. Также, 2 раздел данной работы может использоваться как методические указания к изучению системы SAP Sports One в различных дисциплинах. Также переход к методологии внедрения «Agile» может быть использован в будущих проектах внедрения. / The relevance of the topic is due to the need of the football club "Football Club" to automate the processes occurring in the club in order to increase the efficiency of the football club's staff, reduce time and resource costs, as well as improve the results of the team's performance in various championships. Purpose of the work: automation of processes occurring during the sports activities of the club by implementing the SAP Sports One sports club management system. The object of study of this graduate work is the SAP Sports One sports club management system. The subject of the study is the business process of predictive analytics for the upcoming matches of a football club. The scientific significance lies in evaluating the effectiveness of using the Agile methodology for the process of implementing the SAP Sports One system using system dynamics models. Also in the work was a comparison of alternatives for implementation through the method of analysis of hierarchies. The practical significance lies in automating the processes occurring during the club's sports activities through the implementation of the SAP Sports One sports club management system. Also, Section 2 of this work can be used as guidelines for studying the SAP Sports One system in various disciplines. Also, the transition to the Agile implementation methodology can be used in future implementation projects.

Organisatoriska effekter vid implementering av RPA : En kvalitativ studie om medarbetares upplevelser / Organizational effects when implementing RPA

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a growing field that is receiving more and more attention. The technology is complex and there can be many different reasons why an organization chooses to implement an RPA system. This study aims to investigate which organizational effects can occur when implementing an RPA solution in a business. The aim is to gain a clearer understanding of the factors that influence the employees' attitude towards the RPA system. By examining how the implementation has looked, the essay will draw attention to important aspects that may have an impact on how the RPA solution is perceived and accepted within the organization. This study also discusses how the implementation process has affected the employees' trust in the RPA robot.  Implementing an RPA robot can free up time from repetitive tasks for an organization's employees. Therefore, this study also aims to investigate what differences employees have experienced on their work motivation after the implementation. The result shows various aspects that affect the staff's ability to develop and build trust in an RPA robot. In addition to this, the study has found that it is of great importance that the organization's management possesses the ability to convey information and knowledge. Finally, the study has observed differences between employees' experiences of work motivation before and after the implementation.
