Användaren och den digitala medarbetaren : En kvalitativ studie om användarnas upplevelse om samspelet med RPA

Organisationer har under de senaste åren börjat bestå av både människor och robotar i sina arbetsgrupper. Det som möjliggjort samarbetet mellan användare och robot är Robotic Process Automation (RPA) som kan beskrivas som en digital medarbetare. RPA syftar till att ersätta användarens monotona arbetsuppgifter, användaren kan då fokusera på mer avancerade och värdeskapande uppgifter som kräver kognitivt tänkande. Tidigare forskning visar på att användare upplever förändringen vid implementation av RPA i organisationen olika och kan uppfattas som ett hot eller en möjlighet. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur användare upplever förändringen och samspelet som sker med RPA i en organisation och ge insikter på hur samspelet kan förbättras. Studien genomfördes genom en kvalitativ ansats med semi-strukturerade intervjuer för att undersöka användarnas egna ord om upplevelsen till samspelet med RPA. Studiens slutsats är att användare upplever samspelet med RPA olika beroende på hur informerade dem är angående robotens syfte och mål, men i studien har det framkommit nedslag som kan förhindra de negativa upplevelser som kan uppstå vid samspel med RPA. / In recent years, organizations have begun to consist of both humans and robots in their work groups. What has enabled the interplay between humans and robots is Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which can be described as a digital employee. RPA aims to replace the monotonous tasks so that humans can focus on more advanced and value-creating tasks that require cognitive thinking. Previous research shows that users experience changes when implementing RPA in the organization differently and can be perceived as a threat or an opportunity. The purpose of the study is to investigate how users experience the change and interaction that occurs with RPA in an organization and provide insights into how the interplay can be improved. The study was conducted through a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews to examine the users' own words about the experience to the interplay with RPA. The study's conclusion is that users experience the interplay with RPA differently depending on how informed they are regarding the robot's purpose and goals, but the study has revealed impacts that can prevent the negative experiences that can occur when interacting with RPA.

Intelligent Process Automation : Building the bridge between Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence / Intelligent processautomation : Att bygga bron mellan processautomation och artificiell intelligens

Process Automation has the potential to yield great benefits for companies and organizations, especially in the financial services industry where companies are information-intensive and experience rich data flows. This has mostly been done through Robotic Process Automation (RPA), but the increased maturity of Machine Learning algorithms has increased the viability of combining classic RPA with Artificial Intelligence, leading to Intelligent Process Automation (IPA). However, there is a set of challenges embedded in the transition from RPA to IPA. These challenges need to be dealt with in order to ensure that the benefits of the new technology can be harvested. The aim of this research was to identify this set of challenges that the companies will face, as well as provide guidance to what preparations that need to be made before IPA can be implemented in full scale. The research was conducted as a theory building case study at a large Swedish bank. An empirical study was conducted, consisting of interviews with researchers, as well as automation professionals and R&D at the case company. The findings of the empirical study and previous research on the area were combined and condensed into a guiding framework for organizations wanting to adopt IPA. / Processautomation har potentialen att ge stora fördelar för företag och organisationer, speciellt i finansbranschen där företag är informationsintensiva och har stora dataflöden. Detta har huvudsakligen gjorts med Robotic Process Automation (RPA) men den ökade mognadsgraden av maskininlärning har snabbt förbättrat möjligheten att kombinera RPA med Artificiell Intelligens (AI) för att därmed möjliggöra Intelligent Process Automation (IPA). I övergången från RPA till IPA uppkommer däremot en del utmaningar och problem som företag måste hanteras innan potentialen med dessa nya tekniker kan förverkligas. Den här forskningen ämnar att identifiera de utmaningar som företagen kommer ställas inför samt ge vägledning för vilka förberedelser som företagen måste genomföra innan IPA kan implementeras fullskaligt i organisationen. Forskningen genomfördes som en teoribyggande fallstudie på en stor svensk bank. Den teoretiska grunden samlades in genom en omfattande litteraturstudie och en empirisk studie bestående av intervjuer med forskare samt automationsutvecklare och FoU på banken. Resultaten från litteraturstudien och empirin kombinerades och kondenserades till ett vägvisande ramverk för organisationer som vill implementera IPA.

Robotens tidevarv : En kritisk diskursanalys om debatten kring automatisering i försörjningsstöd / The age of the robot : A critical discourse analysis of the debate around automation in subsistence allowance

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att analysera hur svenska medier skildrar automatisering och robotisering inom biståndshandläggning. I denna studie analyseras 60 olika artiklar från olika svenska dagstidningar. Artiklarna har publicerats mellan april 2017 och februari 2021, ett urval som representerar hur diskussionerna gick efter den nya lag som tillåter automatiserade beslutsstöd i den offentliga sektorn.  Uppsatsen fokuserar på hur robotar, som RPA, konstrueras i artiklarna, vilka diskurser som kan urskiljas och vilka aktörer som formar diskurserna. Studiens teoretiska grund är ett socialkonstruktionistiskt- och diskursteoretiskt perspektiv som brukas för analys och tolkning av det empiriska materialet. Den valda metoden utgår från Faircloughs kritiska diskursanalys och hans tredimensionella metod. En kvantitativ innehållsanalys används som ett komplement till den kvalitativa utgångspunkten för att kvantifiera hur ofta aktörer uttalar sig och om vad de yttrar och därmed bidra till en större kontext. Genom att analysera ord, koncept, teman och innehåll generellt, har det hittats fem olika diskurser rörande automatisering i försörjningsstöd i Sverige. Studiens resultat av analyserad empiri visar att de fem dominerande diskurserna av RPA i artiklarna, enligt storleksordning från störst till minst förekommande, var effektivisering, laglighet, profession, bemötande och kontroll. I och med att effektiviseringdiskursen överlägset var störst kan den enligt socialkonstruktionismen ses motsvara den sociala verkligheten. Majoriteten av de aktörer som i störst utsträckning uttrycker sig och därav formar diskurser i de studerade artiklarna är olika typer av chefer inom socialtjänsten och ordföranden i nämnder. Handläggares och utvecklares utrymme är synnerligen begränsat, likaså klienter och brukare av försörjningsstöd. / The purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to examine how the Swedish media portray automation and robotization in subsistence allowance. In this study, 60 different articles from various Swedish newspapers are analyzed. The articles have been published between April 2017 and February 2021, a selection that represents how the discussions went after a new law was passed which allows automated decision support in the public sector. The essay focuses on how robots, such as RPA, are constructed in the articles, which discourses can be discerned and which actors shape the discourses. The study's theoretical basis is a social constructionist- and discourse theory perspective that is used for analysis and interpretation of the empirical material. The chosen method is based on Fairclough's critical discourse analysis and his three-dimensional method. A quantitative content analysis is used as a complement to the qualitative starting point to quantify how often actors express themselves and about what they express and thereby contribute to a larger context. By analyzing words, concepts, themes and content in general, five different discourses have been found regarding automation in subsistence allowance in Sweden. The study's results of analyzed empirical evidence show that the five dominant discourses of RPA in the articles, in order of magnitude from largest to least occurring, were Efficiency, Legality, Profession, Client interaction and Control. As the Efficiency discourse was by far the largest, according to social constructionism it can be seen as corresponding to social reality.  The majority of the actors who express themselves to the greatest extent and thereby shape discourses in the studied news articles are various types of managers in social services and the chairmen of municipal committees. The  visibility of social workers working with subsistence allowance and developers of the RPA-algorithms are extremely limited, as are the users of subsistence allowance.

Opportunities and Challenges of RoboticProcess Automation (RPA) in the Administration of Education / Möjligheter och utmaningar med Robotic Process Automation (RPA) inom utbildningsadministrationen

As the amount of administrative work are increasing in the education sector, organizations has started to look for alternative solutions to the problem. One such solution might be to use automation within the field of administration in order to free the existing staff from the most burdensome and monotonous tasks. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a technology used to automate digital processes and perform tasks that were previously performed by humans. The implementation of RPA has however proven to be resource-intensive and in need of special technical skill in order to be successful. This thesis has aimed to investigate how RPA automation can be managed within a smaller organization in the education sector and how the expectations of the opportunities and challenges of using RPA may change along with the RPA implementation. A smaller organization who needs to use outsourcing in order to carry out an RPA implementation may have limited knowledge of RPA, which means that the expectations for automation can be unattainably high or surprisingly low. Findings from the case study however suggest that once the first robots had been put into production and started to produce value to the organization, the expectations among the staff increased and a majority of them could see new opportunities of using RPA for further automations. These findings therefore suggest that it is important to generate short-term wins in order to reduce possible resistance to change and to move forward in the implementation of RPA. This thesis has also identified several challenges. These are primarily attributable to limited resources, which means that the important work of reviewing and documenting manual processes for automation may be downgraded because of time restraint. Other challenges may consist of limited knowledge of RPA and an unclear ownership of processes when manually performed processes instead are being carried out by robots. By considering and taking advantage of the changed expectations and the opportunities and challenges that have emerged through this study, it is possible to ensure a successful implementation of RPA automation within the administration of education. / Eftersom mängden administrativt arbete ökar inom utbildningssektorn har organisationer börjat leta efter alternativa lösningar på problemet. En sådan lösning kan vara att använda automatisering inom administrationsområdet för att befria befintlig personal från de mest betungande och monotona uppgifterna. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) är en teknik som används för att automatisera digitala processer och utföra uppgifter som tidigare utförts av människor. Implementeringen av RPA har dock visat sig vara resurskrävande och i behov avspeciell teknisk skicklighet för att lyckas. Denna fallstudie har syftat till att undersöka hur RPA-automatisering kan hanteras inom en mindre organisation inom utbildningssektorn och hur förväntningarna på möjligheterna och utmaningarna med att använda RPA kan förändras under en RPA-implementeringen. En mindre organisation som behöver stöd utifrån för att genomföra en RPA-implementering kan ha begränsad kunskap om RPA, vilket innebär att förväntningarna på automatisering kan vara ouppnåeligt höga eller förvånansvärt låga. Resultaten från fallstudien antyder dock att när de första robotarna hade satts i produktion och börjat producera värde för organisationen ökade förväntningarna bland personalen och en majoritet av dem kunde se nya möjligheter attanvända RPA för ytterligare automatiseringar. Dessa resultat tyder därför på att det är viktigt att generera kortsiktiga vinster för att minska eventuellt motstånd mot förändring och för att gå vidare i implementeringen av RPA. Denna fallstudie har också identifierat flera utmaningar. Dessa beror främst på begränsade resurser, vilket innebär att det viktiga arbetet med att granska och dokumentera manuella processer för automatisering kan få lägre prioritering på grund av tidsbrist. Andra utmaningar kan bestå av begränsad kunskap om RPA och ett oklart ägandeskap av processer när manuellt utförda processer istället utförs av robotar. Genom att överväga och dra nytta av de förändrade förväntningarna och de möjligheter och utmaningar som har uppstått genom denna studie är det möjligt att säkerställa ett framgångsrikt genomförande av RPA-automatisering inom utbildningsadministrationen.

Feedback Control of Robotic Friction Stir Welding

The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process has been under constant developmentsince its invention, more than 20 years ago. Whereas most industrial applicationsuse a gantry machine to weld linear joints, there are applications which consistof complex three-dimensional joints, requiring more degrees of freedom fromthe machines. The use of industrial robots allows FSW of materials alongcomplex joint lines. There is however one major drawback when using robotsfor FSW: the robot compliance. This results in vibrations and insufficient pathaccuracy. For FSW, path accuracy is important as it can cause the welding toolto miss the joint line and thereby cause welding defects.The first part of this research is focused on understanding how welding forcesaffect the FSW robot accuracy. This was first studied by measuring pathdeviation post-welded and later by using a computer vision system and laserdistance sensor to measure deviations online. Based on that knowledge, a robotdeflection model has been developed. The model is able to estimate thedeviation of the tool from the programmed path during welding, based on thelocation and measured tool forces. This model can be used for online pathcompensation, improving path accuracy and reducing welding defects.A second challenge related to robotic FSW on complex geometries is thevariable heat dissipation in the workpiece, causing great variations in the weldingtemperature. Especially for force-controlled robots, this can lead to severewelding defects, fixture- and machine damage when the material overheats.First, a new temperature method was developed which measures thetemperature at the interface of the tool and the workpiece, based on the thermoelectriceffect. The temperature information is used as input to a closed-looptemperature controller. This modifies primarily the rotational speed of the tooland secondarily the axial force. The controller is able to maintain a stablewelding temperature and thereby improve the weld quality and allow joining ofgeometries which were impossible to weld without temperature control.Implementation of the deflection model and temperature controller are twoimportant additions to a FSW system, improving the process robustness,reducing the risk of welding defects and allowing FSW of parts with highlyvarying heat dissipation.

Utmaningar och rekommendationer vid utvecklandet av robotstyrdprocessautomation inom en verksamhetsprocess

Företag strävar idag alltmer efter att automatisera och effektivisera sina verksamhetsprocesser. Till följd av den digitala transformationen av vårt samhälle skapas ständigt nya möjligheter och tekniska innovationer för att stödja automatiseringen av processer genom att göra saker på helt nytt sätt genom att använda sig av modern informations- och datorteknik. Denna studie undersöker en ny teknisk innovation i form av mjukvarutekniken RPA (robotstyrd processautomation) samt dess förmåga att automatisera arbetsuppgifter som vanligtvis utförs manuellt. Studien syftar till att belysa de utmaningar som riskerar att uppstå samt vad som bör beaktas vid utvecklandet av RPA inom en verksamhetsprocess vilket redovisas i form av rekommendationer. Studiens metod utgår från ett explorativt angreppssätt, en kvalitativ datainsamling samt har en abduktiv ansats då ett fenomen både undersöks och analyseras med hjälp av teori relaterat till RPA och automatiserandet av verksamhetsprocesser. De utmaningar och rekommendationer som tagits fram baseras på resultat från mötestillfällen i form av semistrukturerade workshops baserade på utvecklingsprocessens fyra steg samt på utvecklingsgruppens egna upplevelser kombinerat med den teori som använts som underlag för analys. Studiens viktigaste resultat är att processen noga bör kartläggas och optimeras innan utvecklandet inleds samt att en ständig uppföljning med slutanvändaren genomförs i syfte för att upptäcka eventuella förändringar av krav. Någon inom utvecklingsgruppen bör, utöver ett tekniskt perspektiv, även inneha ett processperspektiv samt grundläggande kunskap kring utvecklingen av en verksamhet. / In today’s society companies increasingly strive to automate and streamline their business processes. As a result of the digital transformation of our society, new opportunities and technological innovations are constantly being created with the purpose of supporting the automation of processes by doing things in a completely new way and by utilizing modern information and computer technology. This study examines the new technological innovation in the form of a software technology called RPA (robotic process automation) and its ability to automate tasks that are usually performed manually. The study aims to highlight the challenges that are likely to arise and what the developer should consider when developing RPA within an operational process, which is presented in the form of recommendations. The method of the study is based on an exploratory approach, a qualitative data collection and an abductive approach, since a phenomenon is examined and analyzed using theory related to RPA and the automation of business processes. The challenges and recommendations that have been developed are based on results from a number of meeting sessions in the form of semi-structured workshops based on the four stages of the development process and on the development group's own experiences combined with the theory used as a basis for an analysis. The most important result of the study is that the process should be carefully mapped out and optimized before the development begins and that a continuous follow-up with the end user should be carried out in order to detect any changes in requirements. Someone within the development group should, in addition to a technical perspective, also possess a perspective related to processes and basic knowledge of business development in general.

A formulação da Metodologia para a Implantação dos Processos da Cadeia Logística Segura visa estabelecer parâmetros e metodologia para aplicação dos diversos conceitos e programas de segurança para o comércio exterior visando o controle de carga que vêm sendo implementados por órgãos de governo e organismos internacionais. Estes programas têm como foco o controle sobre os processos de movimentação de carga, através da utilização de tecnologia aplicada à inspeção não intrusiva de carga, rastreamento e lacres eletrônicos, sistemas de troca eletrônica de informação e da integração sistêmica destes componentes. Desta forma, esta tese busca demonstrar como o modelo proposto impactará nos controles fiscais e aduaneiros bem como na otimização dos fluxos logísticos. O modelo proposto está ancorado nas diretrizes de segurança estabelecidas pela Organização Mundial das Aduanas (OMA) através do SAFE Framework of Standards, pela International Maritime Organization (IMO) através do Código Internacional de Segurança e Proteção a Navios e Instalações Portuárias (ISPS-Code), pelo Governo dos Estados Unidos da América através do Container Security Initiative (CSI) e do Safe Ports Act, pela Secretaria da Receita Federal Brasileira através do Plano Nacional de Segurança Aduaneira (PNSA) da Nota Fiscal Eletrônica (NFe) e Conhecimento de Trânsito Eletrônico (CTe) em conjunto com as Secretarias de Fazenda Estaduais, bem como pelo setor privado quem vêm implementado iniciativas voltadas ao controle e monitoramento de carga através de sistemas de Gerenciamento de Risco e os sistemas de Rastreamento e Lacres Eletrônicos aplicados à cargas e veículos. Para efeito de contextualização será apresentado o processo de importação e exportação, seus aspectos de transporte, armazenagem e manipulação de carga, bem como uma macro visão do fluxo documental e os intervenientes públicos e privados envolvido no processo. Esta abordagem tem por objetivo apresentar as diversas características dos fluxos de carga por modal e tipo, ou seja, granel, container e carga geral. Este modelo, se implementado, poderá proporcionar um aumento de produtividade do setor, pois a adoção de medidas de controle de carga exige que o planejamento das operações logísticas seja efetuado, acompanhado e corrigido sempre que necessário. Desta forma, o setor de logística poderá se valer desta ferramenta para o aumento de produtividade e conseqüente redução do Custo Brasil. O modelo de implementação será proposto apoiado em quatro diretrizes: normatização de processos, formulação de um modelo de avaliação contínua de nível de serviço das empresas e do processo, normatização de tecnologia, modelo de acreditação de processo e entidades por modal e/ou área de atuação. Neste trabalho serão detalhados o Modelo de Normatização de Processos e o Sistema de Avaliação de Nível de Serviço. A Normatização Tecnológica e o Modelo de Acreditação serão desenvolvidos em trabalhos futuros. / The development of the Methodology for the Implantation of the Processes of the Safe Logistic Chain aims at to establish parameters and methodology for application of the diverse concepts and programs of security for the foreign commerce being aimed at the load control that come being implemented for agencies of government and international organisms. These programs have as focus the control on the processes of load movement, through the use of technology applied to the not intrusive inspection of load, electronic tracking and sealing waxes, systems of electronic exchange of information and the systemic integration of these components. In such a way, this thesis searchs to demonstrate as the considered model will impact in the fiscal and customs controls as well as in the improvement of the logistic flows. The considered model is anchored in the lines of direction of security established by the Organização Munidal das Aduanas (OMA) through the SAFE Frameworks of Standards through the International Maritime Organization (IMO), through the International Code of Security and Protection the Ships and Port Installations (ISPS-Code), for the Government of the United States of America through Container Security Initiative (CSI) and of Safe Ports Act, for the Secretariat of the Brazilian Federal Prescription through the Plano Nacional de Segurança Aduaneira (PNSA) of Nota Fiscal Eletrônica (NFe) and Conhecimento de Trânsito Eletrônico (CTe) in set with the Secretarias de Fazenda Estaduais, as well as for the private sector who they come implemented initiatives directed to the control and monitorial of load through systems of Management of Risk and the systems of Tracking and Electronic Sealing waxes applied to loads and vehicles. For context effect, it will be presented the process of importation and exportation, its aspects of transport, load storage and manipulation, as well as a macro vision of the documentary flow and the intervening private public and involved in the process. To follow the proposals of regularization of the logistic process of chain will be presented insurance elaborated by Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Business Alliance will be Secure Commerce (BASC) and of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) through the ISO 28000 and correlates. The operational model that will be formulated consists of the proposal of an integrated logistic control. This boarding has for objective to present the diverse characteristics of the modal load flows and type, that is granary, container and general load. The implementation of this model will provide to an increase of productivity of the sector therefore the adoption of measures of load control demands that the planning of the logistic operations is effected, followed and corrected whenever necessary. In such a way the sector of logistic could use this tool for the increase of productivity and consequence reduction of what is called as Custo Brasil. The implementation model will be formulated supported in four pillars: regularization of processes, regularization of technology, formularization of a model of Acreditação of modal process and entities for and/or area of performance and the formularization of a model of continuous evaluation of level of service of the companies and the process.

Esta abordagem tem por objetivo apresentar as diversas características dos fluxos de carga por modal e tipo, ou seja, granel, container e carga geral. Este modelo, se implementado, poderá proporcionar um aumento de produtividade do setor, pois a adoção de medidas de controle de carga exige que o planejamento das operações logísticas seja efetuado, acompanhado e corrigido sempre que necessário. Desta forma, o setor de logística poderá se valer desta ferramenta para o aumento de produtividade e conseqüente redução do Custo Brasil. O modelo de implementação será proposto apoiado em quatro diretrizes: normatização de processos, formulação de um modelo de avaliação contínua de nível de serviço das empresas e do processo, normatização de tecnologia, modelo de acreditação de processo e entidades por modal e/ou área de atuação. Neste trabalho serão detalhados o Modelo de Normatização de Processos e o Sistema de Avaliação de Nível de Serviço. A Normatização Tecnológica e o Modelo de Acreditação serão desenvolvidos em trabalhos futuros. / The development of the Methodology for the Implantation of the Processes of the Safe Logistic Chain aims at to establish parameters and methodology for application of the diverse concepts and programs of security for the foreign commerce being aimed at the load control that come being implemented for agencies of government and international organisms. These programs have as focus the control on the processes of load movement, through the use of technology applied to the not intrusive inspection of load, electronic tracking and sealing waxes, systems of electronic exchange of information and the systemic integration of these components. In such a way, this thesis searchs to demonstrate as the considered model will impact in the fiscal and customs controls as well as in the improvement of the logistic flows. The considered model is anchored in the lines of direction of security established by the Organização Munidal das Aduanas (OMA) through the SAFE Frameworks of Standards through the International Maritime Organization (IMO), through the International Code of Security and Protection the Ships and Port Installations (ISPS-Code), for the Government of the United States of America through Container Security Initiative (CSI) and of Safe Ports Act, for the Secretariat of the Brazilian Federal Prescription through the Plano Nacional de Segurança Aduaneira (PNSA) of Nota Fiscal Eletrônica (NFe) and Conhecimento de Trânsito Eletrônico (CTe) in set with the Secretarias de Fazenda Estaduais, as well as for the private sector who they come implemented initiatives directed to the control and monitorial of load through systems of Management of Risk and the systems of Tracking and Electronic Sealing waxes applied to loads and vehicles. For context effect, it will be presented the process of importation and exportation, its aspects of transport, load storage and manipulation, as well as a macro vision of the documentary flow and the intervening private public and involved in the process. To follow the proposals of regularization of the logistic process of chain will be presented insurance elaborated by Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Business Alliance will be Secure Commerce (BASC) and of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) through the ISO 28000 and correlates. The operational model that will be formulated consists of the proposal of an integrated logistic control. This boarding has for objective to present the diverse characteristics of the modal load flows and type, that is granary, container and general load. The implementation of this model will provide to an increase of productivity of the sector therefore the adoption of measures of load control demands that the planning of the logistic operations is effected, followed and corrected whenever necessary. In such a way the sector of logistic could use this tool for the increase of productivity and consequence reduction of what is called as Custo Brasil. The implementation model will be formulated supported in four pillars: regularization of processes, regularization of technology, formularization of a model of Acreditação of modal process and entities for and/or area of performance and the formularization of a model of continuous evaluation of level of service of the companies and the process.

Strategic Alignment i en digital era : En studie om hur Robotic Process Automation (RPA) påverkar relationen mellan IT-avdelningen och verksamheten i en organisation

Idag tar allt fler verksamheter egna initiativ till att driva en lättare typ av teknik för att på ett snabbare och effektivare sätt kunna uppfylla sina behov. Ett populärt exempel på en sådan teknologi är Robotic Process Automation (RPA) som används i verksamheter för att automatisera processer. Det som skiljer RPA från mer traditionella tekniker är att robotiseringsmjukvaran interagerar med användargränssnittet på samma sätt som en människa gör. Detta innebär att RPA inte är beroende av programmeringskunskaper och därmed kan hanteras av verksamheten själva, utanför IT-avdelningar. Detta utmanar strategic alignment som haft stor betydelse för hur organisationer bygger ett strategiskt sätt att arbeta med IT i verksamheten för att stödja affärsprocesser. Denna studie ämnar därför att undersöka hur relationen mellan IT-avdelningen och verksamheten påverkas genom att RPA införs i en organisation. Studien har utgått från en kvalitativ forskningsansats på tre olika organisationer. Resultatet visade att relationen mellan IT-avdelningen och verksamheten påverkas genom organisatoriska förändringar som sker när RPA införs i verksamheten där en ny avdelning uppkommer, RPA-avdelningen. Resultatet visade att det inte finns en tydlig uppdelning mellan IT-avdelningen och verksamheten, vilket gör att organisationer behöver hitta nya sätt att samarbeta och upprätthålla relationer på. / More businesses are taking their own initiative to drive a lightweight type of technology in order to be able to fulfill their needs in a faster and more efficient way. A popular example of such a technology is Robotic Process Automation (RPA) used in organization to automate processes. What distinguishes RPA from more traditional techniques is that the robotisation software interacts with the user interface in the same way as a human being does. This means that RPA is not dependent on programming skills and can be managed by the business itself, outside the IT-function. This challenges Strategic alignment, which has been of importance to how organizations built a strategic way of working with IT in the organization to support business processes. This study therefore aims to investigate how the relationship between the IT-function and the business is affected by the introduction of RPA in an organization. The study was based on a qualitative research approach at three different companies. The result showed that the relationship between the IT-function and business is affected by organizational changes that take place when RPA technology is introduced into the business where a new department arises, the RPA-function. The result showed that there is no clear division between the IT department and the business, which means that organizations need to find new ways to cooperate and establish relationships.

Den nya dataskyddsförordningen som även kallas GDPR, ställer idag krav som företag och organisationer måste uppfylla samt regler som måste följas när det kommer till hur personuppgifter ska behandlas. Att radera data är en stor del i GDPR och i Rätten att bli bortglömd som är en del i GDPR, måste data raderas. Detta är regler som såklart ska följas men det manuella arbetet för detta är en väldigt lång och tidsödande process för den som ska utföra det arbetet. Robotic Process Automation är en relativt ny teknik som används för att automatisera manuella, repetitiva och tidskrävande affärsprocesser inom företag och organisationer. Syftet med studien är dels att undersöka hur fallföretaget kan uppfylla GDPR-kravet Rätten att bli Bortglömd med RPA tekniken. Rätten att bli bortglömd innebär att personuppgifter som kan kopplas till en viss individ ska raderas bort från ett företag om den specifika individen skulle begära det. Studien kommer även belysa de problem som uppstår mellan RPA tekniken ochRätten att bli Bortglömd inom fallföretaget. Studiens empiri består av den egna erfarenheten men kommer även kompletteras med intervjuer samt avstämningsmöten som skall användas som stöd och underlag för själva genomförandet av RPA. Studiens resultat visar de identifierade hindren som har uppstått i undersökningen. Det finns inget regelverk för hur fallföretaget går tillväga när de ska söka och radera personuppgifter. Undersökningens avgränsade process för Rätten att bli bortglömd var varken standardiserad, mogen, regelbaserad, repetitiv eller återkommande vilket gör automatiseringen problematisk och olämplig för RPA automation. För att uppfylla kravet Rätten att bli bortglömd med hjälp av RPA tekniken måste fallföretaget jobba med att få fram ett tydligt regelverk för hur de ska söka och hitta personuppgifter. Därefter krävs det att processen standardiseras och process stegen väl definieras för att kunna identifiera vilka delar av processen som går att automatisera med RPA.
