Translation of educational professional language from english into Lithuanian / Edukacinės profesinės kalbos vertimas iš anglų kalbos į lietuvių kalbą

Žmėjauskienė, Ivanna 26 September 2008 (has links)
Nowadays when Lithuania is a member of the European Union the English language penetrates into all spheres of our life and serves as a precondition for the upsurge of translation from/into English and Lithuanian. Translation in the realm of different professional discourses causes a number of problems. The aim of the research is to specify the peculiarities of translating educational discourses from English into Lithuanian. The paper presents a brief theoretical overview on the issues of the translation. It analyses not only the definitions and the main characteristics of the educational discourse but also reveals the particularities of the professionalisms as a linguistic phenomenon. Besides, it presents the selected examples of educational professional language from English educational discourses and their equivalents in the Lithuanian language. The following sources have been used for the empirical investigation: Paul Ramsden (1992) "Learning to Teach in Higher Education"; Paul Ramsden (2001) "Kaip mokyti aukštojoje mokykloje"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1995) "Public Values, Private Values and Educational Responsibility"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1997) "Šiuolaikinė ugdymo filosofija: demokratiškumas, vertybės, įvairovė". Darbe pateikiami edukacinės profesinės kalbos pavyzdžiai iš anglų kalbos edukacinių diskursų ir jų lietuviški vertimo ekvivalentai, kurie išrinkti naudojant žemiau išvardintus šaltinius: Paul Ramsden (1992) "Learning to Teach in Higher Education"; Paul Ramsden (2001) "Kaip mokyti aukštojoje mokykloje"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1995)"Public Values, Private Values and Educational Responsibility"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1997)"Šiuolaikinė ugdymo filosofija: demokratiškumas, vertybės, įvairovė".

Samverkan, hur fungerar det? : En kvalitativ studie om samverkansarbete. / Collaboration, how does it work? : A qualtitative study about collaboration labor

Åkesson, Max, Henell, Tomas January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to examine how interaction between different activities can be organized.      The background of the essay highlights why collaboration is becoming common, and what it means for professionals involved in it. Collaboration is becoming common because the government insists on collaboration in practical work and that it is referred to in legal text. Collaboration is a comprehensive change to something unknown which could lead to fear of interaction within professionals who practice it.          The method used was qualitative and the empirical data were obtained through semi-structured interviews. Five respondents participated, three from one collaborative work and two from another. They are professionals in various professions involving humanitarian work in collaboration with each other. Results were analyzed through profession theory, collaboration theory, the user perspective, projects as labor as well as previous research.      The results show that there are various factors that inhibit and/or promote collaboration and conditions that may promote and/or inhibit collaborative success and efficiency. An example of a factor that can inhibit or promote interaction depending on how it is managed is the professional language, while management is a condition that promotes collaboration.

Deret, Lydia 18 November 2019 (has links)
This work takes place within a line of research regarding teachers’ professionalism. We are looking particularly at the language activity of beginners. The central hypothesis is that it is possible to identify, within teachers’ conversations as they interact with pupils, clues regarding their professional development. The theoretical framework links the contributions made by professional didactics with those of language pragmatic and interactional linguistic theory. Set within a didactical context, we consider language as the first strategical tool to teach and we are placed within an approach orchestrated by teacher activity. We lead an ergonomic investigation alongside three newly qualified teachers, from videos shot during mathematics lessons and from self- confrontation interviews. Language interactions between teachers and their students have been analysed qualitatively and quantitatively, in relation with the identification of pedago-didactic functions. Results highlight professional language know-hows, revealing of the professionalism and the professional development of each of the teachers investigated.

Skola på vetenskaplig grund : hur uppfattar lärare och skolledare att de kan realisera skollagens skrivning om vetenskaplig grund i skola och förskola / School based on scientific research : how do teachers and school leaders comprehend that they can realize the school law´s writing concerning scientific research in school and preschool

Sjögren, Torun January 2014 (has links)
This paper investigates a number of attitudes to the formation of the Swedish School Law that education shall rest on a scientific base with the aim of getting a better understanding of which conditions and startingpositions these are for the implementing of the law. The basic data have been taken from a quantitative total survey which has been sent to school leaders and teachers on schools and pre-schools in a smaller commune. The response rate of the survey is 40 %. Then the data have been analysed and shown as descriptive statistics. The paper has a phenomenogical starting-point. The result shows that, generally, there is a positive attitude to using research in school and pre-school. The result indicates also that conversation with colleagues is the most important source of research and that one´s own research is the source that least contributes to scientific thinking in school and pre-schools. The study shows that what is considered to be the biggest obstacle for using research is lack of time and linguistic difficulties. The study points at a relatively low scientific base of conception concerning theories of knowledge and research methods. This can indicate a less developed professional language. The conclusion of the study is that much effort and creativity will be demanded concerning both organisation and knowledge in order to realize the formulation of the school law.

La notion de moment professionnel : développement en Français Langue Professionnelle / The notion of professional moment : French as Professional Language Development

Demont, Guillaume 29 May 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to enrich the conceptual and methodological framework of French as Professional Language (FPL) by introducing a new operative concept derived from Henri Lefebvre's theory of moments: the professional moment. Our hypothesis is that this concept allows to identify the logics of professional practices and discourses and provides a framework for language teaching focused on those logics. This thesis consists of three main parts who determine prospects resulting from the concept of professional moment on a theoretical, methodological and didactic level. The first part explains the theoretical framework, trace the history of French as a Professional Language and define the theory of moments. Then, it explores prospects of the theory of moments for the professional discourse analysis. The second part concerns our methodological framework and develop our method of investigation, data collection and analysis. Then, this method is applied to two professions that appear to be diametrically opposed: Medical/psychological Assistants who provide dependent people with day-to-day support and French Army senior officers. The third part describes the didactic framework and proposes to apply the concept of professional moment to the teaching of French as Professional Language. Our teaching experience in the army shows that the concept of professional moment allows to renew the teaching of languages for specific vocational purposes by providing some didactic tools and by focusing the learning on professional posture.

Ögonblickets pedagogik : Yrkesgrupper i samtal om specialpedagogisk kompetens vid barn-och ungdomshabiliteringen / The pedagogy of the moment : Professional groups in conversational talk about competence in special education within child and youth habilitation

Åman, Kerstin January 2006 (has links)
<p>This thesis is about special needs educational competence of educators working in collaborating teams within child and youth habilitation centres. The pedagogy of the moment stands for the decisions made by educators, based on their observations made when meeting the child in its different environments. These decisions build on educational theoretical and practical knowledge and experience developed through collaboration within interprofessional teams. The study was carried out through the use of focus groups consisting of professionals within different child and youth habilitation centres. The data consists of taped and transcribed focus groups discussions. Participants provided additional information concerning, estimations of the focus group session, their education and use of special needs educational assignments through additional questionnaires. The analysis focuses on how the educators conceptualise their competence and the dialogue in the group conversation. To facilitate the interactional analysis, a constructional key for the conversation was developed.</p><p>The educators within child and youth habilitation centers have not developed specific professional strategies, but instead, appear to have adapted a mission through structural means. Their competence appears contextually adapted and devel-oped within three spheres of activities. Their basic education is in the area of pre-school with theoretical focus on children’s normal development, pedagogical experience of working with groups of children, play and learning. On the basis of this background, together with experiences with toy library activities for children with disabilities, they have become one of the corner stone of child and youth habilitation centres of the 1980’s. In these centers, by tradition a mainly medical sphere of activity, they work in teams with family orientated habilitation, and have developed compe-tence for special needs educational intervention for children with disabilities. Special needs education is a supplementary field, which includes educators who are being trained for municipal operation. The educators use professional speech genres with colloquial language terminology, which is adjusted to its communicative context. The educators and their colleagues in the teams emphasize the importance of the educator bridging the medical, treatment and pedagogical contexts, together with a focus on child, parents and staff, at home and in preschool/school. A communicational genre has developed within the occupational group, where the educators reinforce rather than question each other when taking turns during interprofessional conversations. The competence of the educator is based on knowledge and experience when it comes to children, their development, play and learning. The thesis demonstrates that the main focus of the supplementary education increasingly lies on the pedagogical meeting with adults, mostly parents, around specific child. The practical pedagogical work for the child, playing as intervention as well as the specific special needs educational intervention is less conceptualised by the educators. They are requesting relevant research and theories to support their field of knowledge.</p>
