Previous issue date: 2005-06-07 / Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo / "Wicked Inclusion: child labor of students in the city of São Paulo" discusses the matter of the wicked insertion that characterizes the child labor in the nowadays society in big cities, such as São Paulo. In this way, the research that has been made came from the idea that what characterizes the children and teenagers submitted to the dynamics of child labor is their precarious urban insertion. For this purpose, it has been tried to find how that happens in the neighborhoods of the periphery of the city. The universe that has been researched, Paraisopólis and Cidade Tiradentes, are located in places marked by the precarious conditions of life and housing and/or irregular and disordered settlements of its population.
The study proposed aimed to analyze the portion of the population that works and study, evaluating the situation of the families involved in the phenomenon of the child labor.
It has been tried to characterize the situation of the children and teenagers - aged between 7 and 14 years old - paying attention for the involvement of the families: in productive activities and in their strategies. In particular, it has been a special concern to verify how the universe of children and teenagers articulate itself with the representations about the work and their meanings.
In order to obtain a more deepened and wide-ranging discussion of the problems related with the object of study, it has been introduced the technique of the focal groups. This doctoral thesis presented here, aimed , therefore, to discuss the articulation that exists between the factors of socio-spatial segregation , that express the inequalities presents in the structuration of the city with the processes of wicked social inclusion that create the growth of the child labor in the city of São Paulo.

Previous issue date: 2008-10-30 / This study had as objective to verify if Christians from the Catholic Church, in Lages/SC, can develop their social protagonism and in which level, from the participation proposed by the Catholic Church.
At first, it was important to understand the matter of sacred from its history and how it has been changing in religious experience, that is, in a religion more and more institutionalized. That process can be verified into the Christianity, rendering bureaucratic to it so that it was important to ask: is there condition in this Church for humans development on their several subjective spiritual expressions?
In this study, protagonism was understood as the human s possibility to develop himself/herself as a social actor, able to perform an active citizenship in different levels (personal and social), making the difference into the society, the same that happened with the Christians from the communities during the three first centuries of the Catholic Church.
After analyzing the history of the Catholic Church practices, from global to local levels (Lages), it was made a research with people from 08 parishes (Lages/SC), in order to (1) verify if Christians feel themselves as actors of their actions and if their faith practices contribute on their actions in civil society as well; and (2) detect if there is the practice of the protagonism.
It was possible to perceive an accentuated negative sense of the Catholic Christians in relation to the Church and a camouflaged but conscious cry for changes, mainly in changing that Church rigidly hierarchical with a centralized power. They manifested a strong desire for a Church as a community of brothers and sisters , using as reference the practice of the first Christians, who lived in a permanent dialectics among institution, multiplicity of charismas and prophecy / Esta tese verificou se os cristãos da Igreja Católica, em Lages, Santa Catarina, a partir da participação nas diversas atividades que nela exercem, desenvolvem seu protagonismo social, e em que níveis.

The Discourse and Practice of Child Protagonism: Complexities of Intervention in Support of Working Children’s Rights in SenegalLavan, Daniel 20 April 2012 (has links)
Contesting international strategies for combatting child labour that derive from modern, Western conceptions of childhood, several developing country organizations have embraced the principle of child protagonism by declaring that working children can become the leading agents in struggles to advance their interests when they are mentored in forming their own independent organizations. This thesis first explores how an African NGO, informed by its urban animation experiences, developed its own specific discourse of child protagonism and employed it as the basis for establishing an African working children’s organization designed to provide compensatory literacy and skills training and to empower members to improve their own and other children’s working conditions. The thesis considers this foundational child protagonism discourse in light of data collected in Senegal by means of participant observation and interviews in grassroots groups and associations of working children, as well as in the offices of both the local NGO and its international NGO donor. Fieldwork revealed limitations of the specific child protagonism practice pursued over the past two decades. Specifically, redirecting resources from direct pedagogical accompaniment of grassroots working child groups towards bureaucratic capacity building for the “autonomization” of higher hierarchical levels of the organization, as well as towards international meetings, has resulted in the organization’s diminished impact for vulnerable groups in Dakar, particularly migrant girl domestic workers. Deepening implication with international donors has forced shifts in the priorities of the local NGO and the working children’s organization it facilitates, yet the two have been largely successful in buffering donor probes precisely into the ground level effectiveness of their child protagonism strategy. No previous independent research has sought to confront the discourse of child protagonism with a comprehensive examination of a working children’s organization’s practice, from its most local processes to its international dimensions and donor relations.

Previous issue date: 2016-07-28 / Among the themes that appear in the agenda of environmental policy, the water crisis, which
affects a large part of the world, is an important item that arouses the interest of governments
and several social, environmental and market segments. In the globalized world, public policies
and modes of management of water resources can be seen as a strategic and geopolitical issue
given the importance of water for productive processes and life itself. In Brazil, water is
managed by the basin committee, an administrative unit that is different from the politicaladministrative
division of the Federation as established by the Federal Constitution of 1988.
This work aims at discussing and understanding the role of the Basin Committee of the
Paranaíba River in the of creation and decision processes of policies for the management of
water resources in the basin as an integration of the institutional arrangement as defined by Law
9.433/1997, which establishes the participation of the Public Power, users and the organized
civil society as agents in the shared management of water resources in Brazil. The investigated
problem has been synthesized into an open question: What is the political protagonism of the
basin committees within the institutional arrangement of decentralization of the national policy
on water resources? The work is grounded on the hypothesis that the role of political protagonist
of the basin committees is secondary in the decentralized structure of management of water
resources in Brazil. Multi-method quality research was chosen as it is an approach that does not
constrain the researcher to any given specific method only, but it also allows a wider range of
data collection. In the present study, upon the association of more than one method of qualitative
research, the multi-method approach was configured in the use of more than one instrument of
field research and in the performed analysis. The work seeks to analyze and understand the
dynamics of the decision-making process adopted by the Paranaíba River Basin Committee,
with reference to the decentralization format for the management of water resources adopted
by Law 9433/1997 and by the National Policy and Water Resources. The Basin Committee of
the Paranaíba River was created through a Presidential Decree on 16 July 2002 and installed in
2008. It occupies an area of 63.3% of the state of Goiás, 3.4% of Mato Grosso do Sul, 31.7%
of Minas Gerais and 1.6% of the Federal District. It encompasses 197 municipalities and the
Federal District4. The research analyzes the period between the installation of the Basin
Committee of the Paranaíba River – namely the year 2008 – and the publishing of the Plan of
Water Resources of the Basin, in 2014.
A opção
Distrito Federal.

Previous issue date: 2016-08-09 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The family as a privileged place of social protection becomes increasingly a "partner" of the state and focus of social policies. It is required that the family meets certain functions of breeding, individual formation, protection and socialization, but it will be a space of protection only if it is protected, need to have access their rights. In this sense, despite the family exert their protective function, it cannot be a substitute of the State and not eximi it of its responsibilities. It is urgent to discuss the significance of social protection, contrasting family responsibilities to the State, expanding the look over the place that the family occupies in various social policies, among them the Mental Health. After all, the family institution has historically been removed from the patient in psychological treatment, but over the Psychiatric Reform process this was taken as a fundamental factor for social rehabilitation of the patient. Faced with the constant threat of kicking and precariousness of Mental Health Policy in the neoliberal environment, added to redirect policy passing to favor territorial basic services and the various functions that the family takes on the care of the patient, the aim of this study is understand the configuration of the family role in a Psychosocial Attention Centre (CAPS) in the city of Toledo (Parana state - Brazil), as recommended by the Mental Health Policy in the Psychiatric Reform process. This is a quantitative and qualitative research. Using as data collection the document research methodology, semi-structured interview and directed observations, it was possible interpret the data collected through the content analysis technique. As some of the results for this problem, it was found that the role is experienced by these families, basically, as individual's care in psychic suffering. The way they exercise their role relates closely with the socioeconomic context in which they are, permeated by difficulties in access to employment and income, prejudice and social stigma and feelings of guilt and stress related to mental disorder. On the other hand, the CAPS objective conditions also put limits to offer greater space for the family support; moreover, the offered spaces are hardly occupied by families. Front this context, that families adopt a posture against reform, situation closely related to the lack of a more consistent support of the service network, or try to fight for their rights through the CAPS Patients, Family and officials Association; however, the lack of coordination, the lack of clarity in relation to the Mental Health Policy and the principles of psychiatric reform and the lack of political support, substantially limit advancement possibilities of this association. This situation has a direct impact on the social reintegration possibilities of individuals in psychological suffering and limits the political struggle of these families to advances in Mental Health Policy and the Psychiatric Reform Movement.

This study, developed in the sphere of Professional Master of Letters from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora - PROFLETRAS, is linked to the second stage of macroproject "Portuguese language education - teacher education to the classroom" (MIRANDA, 2014) and is defined as a case study and as an action research (MORIN, 2004). The investigative scenario is a Portuguese classroom of a public school from the city of Juiz de Fora / MG, and the subjects, 26 students from the 9th grade. This classroom, marked by apathy, no interest indiscipline and microviolences, was not shaping up as a good living environment and therefore unfavorable to the teaching-learning process. The project consists of two stages - a diagnostic and an interventional one. For the diagnostic stage, we elected two investigative tools geared to the students - a socioeconomic and cultural questionnaire and the writing of an Experience Report. For the analysis of student speech, it was based on the Semantic of Frames (FILLMORE, 1982) and his lexicographical project Framenet (www.framenet.icsi.berkeley.edu). The results of this semantic analysis served as indicators for an interdisciplinary interpretive exercise of educational issues in focus. Our interventional actions had the goal of reframing the classroom environment, so as to make it a place for the effective exercise of language. This step was structured in two projects: 1. "Educating orality and promoting a Social Pact" and 2. “Reflecting on the future and writing a Life Project ".The pillars supporting this project fall in the construction of a School Environment for coexistence (TOGNETTA and VINHA, 2007, 2009, 2013; GARCIA, 2006, 2009, 2013; ARAUJO, 1994, 1999; LA TAILLE, 1994, 2006, 2009; CHARLOT, 2002; DEBARBIEUX, 2006), anchored in Protagonist action of students (COSTA, 2004; COSTA and VIEIRA, 2006), the recovery of the teaching authority by Authorship pathways (MIRANDA, 2005; AQUINO, 1998, 2014; GARCIA, 2010; ARAUJO, 1999; GUZZONI, 1995), the equation of language and citizenship education (MIRANDA, 2005; DOLZ and SCHNEUWLY, 2004; TOGNETTA and VINHA, 2007, 2009; ARAUJO, 1999, 2014; LA TAILLE, 2006). It has based proposals for teaching reading, writing and speaking skills, a language teaching perspective anchored in the language vision as a social practice (SOLÉ, 1998; MIRANDA, 2006; and KOCH ELIAS, 2014 ANTUNES, 2010). The reinterpretation of the environment and interpersonal relations among the participants of my classroom favored linguistic practices and made possible the process of teaching and learning, which is an attached dissertative document with the theoretical, methodological basis and diagnostic analysis of the classroom in focus. The work developed is presented in two documents: a digital and interactive pedagogical Notebook which describes and justifies the interventional action and a dissertative document with the theoretical, methodological basis and the diagnostic analysis of the classroom in focus.

(https://framenet.icsi.berkeley.edu/fndrupal).
The present work - a case study of participatory and interventional nature defined as
Action Research (MORIN, 2004) - has as its central goal the construction of a Learning
Environment in a Portuguese Language classroom. The investigative scenario is a 9th grade
classroom of the Education of Youth and Adults - EJA - 23 students aged between 17 and 55
years old - from a municipal public school in Muriaé, MG. Conflicts of interest between
generations, disrespect, disorganization and apathy demarcated the environment of this
classroom, hindering or impeding learning, which led to the definition of the issue of this study.
This study is part of the macroproject "Portuguese Language Teaching - from Teacher Training
to theClassroom" (MIRANDA, 2014, FAPEMIG CHE APQ 02584/14), assuming its
theoretical-methodological matrix and models of intervention actions. Three stages of action
were proposed: an initial diagnostic, an intervention, a final diagnostic and the final evaluational
steps. The diagnostic actions involved the application of two investigative instruments aimed
at the students: a semiabalized questionnaire cutting the socioeconomic and cultural profile,
applied at the beginning of the project and the Report of Practices, one of which was collected
at the beginning and another, with an adjustment of content at the end of the project. For the
comparative diagnostic analysis of the two Student reports, Framing Semantics (FILLMORE,
2009 [1982] and SALOMÃO, 2009) and its Framenet lexicographic project
(https://framenet.icsi.berkeley.edu/fndrupal) were used. The results of this semantic analysis
were submitted to an interdisciplinary interpretive reading in order to construct indicators of
the student perspective on Portuguese language teaching before and after the application of the
project. The intervention stage, accompanied by records of teachers (and students) logbooks,
was organized into three projects: Project 1: Building a learning environment through
Portuguese language teaching - the production of the Dogmatized Debate genre; Project 2:
Looking for the student's voice and getting to know their points of view - from the court to the
production of the Opinion Article genre and Project 3: Giving the public their knowledge and
opinions - the production of the Seminary genre. These interventive actions were supported by
an interactionist conception of language and involved the daily teaching practice of Portuguese
teacher-researcher - reading, writing, speaking and linguistic reflection - during the academic
year of 2017. The final results achieved show that strengthening the protagonism of the students
and the collaboration network between them modified the environment, making it conducive to
teaching-learning Portuguese. Following the model developed for the Final Conclusion of
PROFLETRAS / UFJF, this study has as a product a digital and interactive Pedagogical
Notebook accompanied by a dissertation document.

The Discourse and Practice of Child Protagonism: Complexities of Intervention in Support of Working Children’s Rights in SenegalLavan, Daniel January 2012 (has links)
