Macedo Filho, Manoel Dantas 21 February 2014 (has links)
The present work has as proposal expose the representation of teachers in comic books, introducing the relevant research line studies teacher training: knowledge and skills, graduate program in education of the UFS. For both the analysis turns to the work of Maurício de Souza, with the character´s comic Chico Bento; and Charles Schulz, with strips of Snoopy and the gang (Peanuts), considering the look of high school students from a school in the public school system in Aracaju (SE) with reference to the contribution of the theory of social representations. The qualitative research was chosen to exhibit and interpret the relationships recorded in data collection with the use of the fanzine and the questionnaires. The main problem being considered does not seem to be checking whether the current production of comics strives and/or discusses educational issues in a transparent manner and understandable by anyone who creates and for whom the consumes, since several projects checked already pored over this, but understand if the images themselves that feature teachers in comics may also allow a legitimate print showing somehow just their representations. For generation and coherent dissemination of this exhibition |graphic-figurative|, the focus is set by probable similarities observed between two sets different compositional elements with regard to authorship and origins, but with a similar orientation, referencing the same thematic and segment.

Solving Linear Matrix Equations via Rational Iterative Schemes

Benner, Peter, Quintana-Ortí, Enrique, Quintana-Ortí, Gregorio 01 September 2006 (has links)
We investigate the numerical solution of stable Sylvester equations via iterative schemes proposed for computing the sign function of a matrix. In particular, we discuss how the rational iterations for the matrix sign function can efficiently be adapted to the special structure implied by the Sylvester equation. For Sylvester equations with factored constant term as those arising in model reduction or image restoration, we derive an algorithm that computes the solution in factored form directly. We also suggest convergence criteria for the resulting iterations and compare the accuracy and performance of the resulting methods with existing Sylvester solvers. The algorithms proposed here are easy to parallelize. We report on the parallelization of those algorithms and demonstrate their high efficiency and scalability using experimental results obtained on a cluster of Intel Pentium Xeon processors.

Brachtlová, Magdalena January 2018 (has links)
The subject of the master's thesis is the royal box at the National Theater in Prague. The diplomat elaborates in detail its construction history from the initial construction, later reconstructions and repairs. She will put the box in the context of type development and will be interpreted in terms of the meanings projected therein. Of course, there will also be analyzed in terms of functioning. The interpretation of the architectural site is supplemented by the analysis and interpretation of the iconography of painting decoration. An integral part of the work will be detailed picture documentation. Keywords National Theatre, The Royal / Presidential box, Vojtěch Hynais, Václav Brožík, Julius Mařák, Josef Zítek, Josef Schulz, Neo Renaissance

Baquerizo Barrios, Deborah 11 November 2020 (has links)

Kostel sv. Václava v Praze na Smíchově. Otázka historismu a novorenesance. / The Church of St. Wenceslas in Prague-Smíchov. The issues of historicism and Neo-Renaissance

Klinerová, Adéla January 2014 (has links)
This thesis is presenting the church of St. Wenceslas in Prague-Smíchov and also the issues of historicism and Neo-Renaissance, which are directly connected to this religious building. The introductory chapter of the thesis is depicting the historical and urban development of Prague historical suburb Smíchov that contributed to the creation of its church. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to the matter of selecting the architect. This part observes the circumstances of the architectural competition and compares the projects of participating architects. Following part of the thesis is consecrated to the decoration programme of the church of St. Wenceslas. Applied art is included only marginally. The conclusion has the objective of classifying the building of the church of St. Wenceslas into the wider context of central European architecture and religion painting. This thesis would not have been achieved without archival materials and historical sources, including especially architectural plans and the documentation administrated once by the parish office of the church of St. Wenceslas in Smíchov.

The screen of writing : the film adaptations of Wojciech J. Has as operators of reading texts of Jean Potocki, Bolesław Prus and Bruno Schulz

Neau, Jessy 31 March 2017 (has links)
This dissertation proposes a renewed approach to the topic of film adaptation, by studying several literary texts together with their film adaptations directed by the same filmmaker, Wojciech Jerzy Has (1925-2000). The originality of our analysis lies in placing films, not texts, as primary and central elements in the organization of our approach. By the choice of a target-oriented approach (Cattrysse 2014), literary texts become the points of arrival rather than the starting points of this comparative analysis. Three films directed by Wojciech Has give the impulse to an itinerary of analyzes that includes various texts adapted by this director (those of Jan Potocki, Bruno Schulz and Bolesław Prus). This mode of organization creates unprecedented modes of relation between the texts and the films, but also between texts themselves, while no relation of explicit intertextuality justifies their connections: Jan Potocki’s Zaragoza Manuscript (1794-1810), Bolesław Prus’ The Doll (1890) the short stories of Bruno Schulz (1934-1937) belong to three different centuries. The reversal of the traditional critical path that we are implementing in this work, by mobilizing the resources of films to capture and project the experience of reading, reveals analogies between filmic and textual analysis. The notions of figure and montage will allow to discover how adaptations can also qualify as rewritings (réécritures) (Ropars 1990), a concept that points towards films that alter the text.It is by the unveiling of some figures related to the fantastic genre that a posterior coherence is given to the texts adapted by Has: the three films present doubles, automata, labyrinth experiences and self-reflexive configurations, creating new relationships between heterogeneous texts. Our research doubles the experimentation of this cinematographic operator of the literature with a fantastic operator, which acts as an element of cohesion in the differential game between literature and cinema.
