Percepção e aprendizagem no Museu de Zoologia: uma análise das conversas dos visitantes / Perception and Learning in the Museum of ZoologyCampos, Natalia Ferreira 01 November 2013 (has links)
This study presents an analysis of aspects of learning through the conversations of adult visitors at an exhibition of zoology. We adopt the sociocultural perspective of learning and development of Vygotsky (2009), according to which the use of language is understood as a way to share and develop knowledge together, but also as a tool that guides the internal psychological processes of the individual. Accordingly, we explore the cognitive process of perception verbalized, i.e., mediated by language (Vygotsky, 2009; LURIA, 1970), and the collaborative learning among peers (Mercer, 2000). Our goal was to analyze how language is used in the voiced interaction to qualify and expand perceptions of the elements of the exhibition and to jointly construct meaning about objects and contents. For this, we seek to characterize the conversations of the subjects throughout the exhibition, through the analysis of epistemic operations performed in speech and also the forms of interaction as characterized by Mercer (2000) (cumulative, disputational and exploratory talk). Epistemic operations were organized into three groups: operations guided by perception; operations connecting to knowledge and experiences; and operations of greater conceptual elaboration. Our subjects were adults, members of school in the modality of Youth and Adult Education, visiting in pairs the exhibition Fauna of South America, which was focused on the presentation of preserved animals and habitat dioramas, at the Museum of Zoology, University of São Paulo, in August 2011. It was observed that most of the conversations developed collaboratively to learning, often with partners building positively, but uncritically, on what the other has said (cumulative talk), being rare conversations centered in arguing divergent points (exploratory talk). During the visits, the conversations were mostly focused on elements of the display, indicating the attractiveness of objects. Through the epistemic operations of Naming, Pointing, Affectivity and Characterization subjects directed the attention of partners, qualified and shared perceptions, acting on the joint construction of meanings about objects. Among these stands out the importance of Naming objects for visitors, that has promoted discussions on some occasions and deeper engagement in the exhibition. We also observed, but with lower occurrence, the operations of Knowledge-connection, Supposition and Explanation, which indicated talks with greater conceptual elaboration. It is noteworthy, however, that more elaborated conversations generally showed greater articulation of epistemic operations, including overlapping, such as in the case of Explanations constituted by Knowledge- connections or Characterizations, which indicates the importance of operations guided by perception for operations of greater conceptual elaboration. Questions also had an important role in promoting epistemic operations. Operations of greater conceptual elaboration were developed as both a function of the perception of objects as per demands of conversation itself, indicating the relevance of concrete experience with objects and aspects of social interaction for learning. We hope that this study may contribute to understanding the role of educational exhibits, and to understanding how adult visitors share perceptions, negotiate and construct meanings related to musealized knowledge and objects.

The present investigation included key issues to reflect on the different paradigms and new production sharing knowledge. It is the interaction between science and society. Within this perspective, the investigation points to a collective effort to think about access to information as a citizen's right. So some questions guided the development of this dissertation in the dissemination and access to the results of clinical trials for volunteers. From these questions, we sought to identify and describe interactions between researchers and volunteers of clinical research conducted at the Institute Evandro Chagas clinical research of Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, from the perspective of access to information and potential production of shared knowledge. The subject in question becomes relavant in that it presents itself as a new alternative and approximation between participants who are volunteers of clinical research in Instituto and researchers who perform these researches. We opted for given the results found, it is believed to involve the volunteers with information exchange and dialogue throughout the development of research can generate changes in behavior of those citizens. Another result mentioned by respondents were invested in the preparation of printed material as brochures, booklets and posters with their participation, as an engagement estratetgy involvement and inclusion in the context of clinical research. It is believed that the development work of this nature contribute to the promotion of health through collective action where citizens can constitute active participants in the decisions of social life.

Train more people to save more lives : Teaching Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in compulsory schools in SwedenOlgac, Selvi January 2020 (has links)
Globally, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) occurs ranging between 20 to 140 per 100 000 people, with only 2-11% surviving. Immediate bystanders, i.e. a person close to the victim, performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) have a vital role to play in the chain of survival from OHCA. Today CPR training takes place in many different contexts as workplaces and schools, but there is still a lack of knowledge concerning CPR in society at large. The overarching aim for this thesis is to find new ways of delivering CPR in order to train more laypeople and save more lives. By initially exploring CPR training in both workplaces and compulsory schools in Sweden, my final design question for this thesis has been: How might we empower the teachers to enable them to carry out CPR training at school? Ethnographic fieldwork both exploring CPR training in workplaces and schools including interviews with mainly instructors, teachers, and laypeople as well as participatory observations in CPR training, have been carried out. In addition, the fieldwork included being a participant in a CPR training course myself. The results from my research process were clustered into insights and potential opportunity areas. Departing from these insights a decision was made to continue the thesis with CPR training in schools as reaching out to children and young people already at school can open the path for more long-term sustainable knowledge. Despite CPR training being core content from year 7 in compulsory schools in Sweden, it is not carried out in a majority of them. My research shows that lack of CPR material as well as an unclear syllabus in Physical Education and Health in how to involve CPR in your teaching, are some of the main obstacles for teachers and reasons for why CPR training is not being carried out in every school today. Potential future scenarios were explored through creative workshops and idea sessions with the users and main stakeholders. The explorations led to focusing on the teachers, as they have a vital role in being the bridge between the CPR knowledge and the pupils. My final proposal is CiPRA: a collaborative CPR education platform for teachers and schools, with the aim to increase the knowledge and the conditions for teachers to carry out CPR training, starting already from six years of age. The structure of the platform follows the years of the Swedish school system and the recommended steps fromThe Swedish Resuscitation Council for CPR training and first aid. The platform enables teachers to plan and prepare CPR training, both long a short term irrespective of previous experience. The platform is based on three main parts; knowledge contributions from teachers, teaching content both through pre-made lessons and an idea bank as well as a shared booking system for practical CPR material. Together these parts unify in an individual lesson planning for every teacher. In my final design proposal, it has been important to emphasise the main insights as well as making sure that every involved stakeholder is represented.

An exploration of cultural identity in creative practiceDomeij, Tina January 2020 (has links)
My work is about the feeling of standing in between two worlds of my cultural heritage. To feel connected but at the same time not connected to them. The feeling of missing out in one of my cultural heritage because of the language that I do not fully speak. I use a traditional craft from that side to build a bridge to fill the gap. It is about combining my heritages and the connection/disconnection and fuse them together into one as I am a person of two cultures. By not putting myself in a box that the society wants me to fit in to, I challenge that norm also in my work. I transformed the traditional craft placed in a room of a house to become jewelry. The wearer is allowed to choose what kind of jewelery it is and it can be placed on many different ways. My work is about investigate the meeting of craft on a body, and body in a craft. Its about to invite the Thai practice to my Swedish practice and vice versa and fuse them together.

Dialogue During Team Problem Solving Using Visual Representation Boundary Objects: A Case StudyWebb, Julie M. 01 January 2020 (has links)
Organizations benefit from the knowledge held by individual members as well as knowledge that is shared among those members. In order for knowledge to co-develop between members, and to spread, organizations must provide opportunities for members to collaborate. Organizational teams sometimes require assistance with interpersonal communication, establishing consensus, and sharing knowledge when collaborating. Group facilitators can offer guidance and intervene when teams need support. In addition, teams can find support through the use of visual representation boundary objects (VRBOs) to build trust, improve communication, increase cooperation, and share ideas. This study explores how knowledge is shared between team members and uncovers the importance of social interaction during the co-development of shared knowledge. The role that group facilitators play in team collaboration is highlighted. The results of the study indicate that a positive relationship exists between the use of a VRBO and the development of shared knowledge amongst a team. Patterns emerged from the findings that reveal a structure to the team’s collective meaning making that constitutes an underlying theory of action. The author examines the benefits of using VRBOs for teams and organizations including improved collaboration and communication.

Professional competence and especially its recognition are factors that facilitate access to language and to its appropriation through professional integration. This study seeks to cause a change in the attitudes of those working in the field of Language Teaching, Educational Sciences, and Medical Studies, so that account should be taken of what constitutes individuals’profiles (their historicity and knowledge) in the search of a more productive articulation between achievements and learning experiences (academic or professional) to be constructed

Komponent pro sémantické obohacení / Semantic Enrichment ComponentDoležal, Jan January 2018 (has links)
This master's thesis describes Semantic Enrichment Component (SEC), that searches entities (e.g., persons or places) in the input text document and returns information about them. The goals of this component are to create a single interface for named entity recognition tools, to enable parallel document processing, to save memory while using the knowledge base, and to speed up access to its content. To achieve these goals, the output of the named entity recognition tools in the text was specified, the tool for storing the preprocessed knowledge base into the shared memory was implemented, and the client-server scheme was used to create the component.
