Lundin, Marie, Norrgård, Jessica January 2010 (has links)

This paper has it’s background in Physical Activity on Prescription, a projectwhich the Swedish sports movement is part of. The study refers to a limiteddivision of sports for adults, namely a phenomenon here by referred to as dropin-activity. This form of physical activity is characterized by an understandingthat the participant often lack experience and that it is possible to pay for eachoccasion. The purpose of the study was thus to take a closer look on organized,non-profit sports clubs which offer this type of exercise for adults. To get theresults interviews was carried out in three different sports clubs with leaders ofthe activity and members from the board. The respondents were asked to talkabout their thoughts and experiences of the activity involving physical activity ofdrop-in nature executed in each sport club. The theoretical framework used toanalyze the interviews was the phenomenon of logics within sport, as describedby Stenling and Fahlén (2009). The analysis resulted in the identification of twomain logics; Social values and Resources for continued existence. The healthperspective were analyzed on the basis what had, or had not been said abouthealth in the interviews. The results show that growth is a main issue which canbe used to motivate the Swedish sport clubs to develop their activities. It’s alsoshown that the participants of the drop in-activities don’t get as much attention asthe ordinary members of the sport clubs which is crucial if the social values areto be obtained. The conclusions are that in order to make the healthimplementations work the programmatic approach has to be clear and consist ofterms that is easily related to.

Swedish Players’ Transition From Junior to Senior Football in Relation to Perceived Health and Athletic Identity

Eriksson, Christoffer January 2010 (has links)
The objectives of this study concerning Swedish players’ transition from junior to senior football were to examine: (1) transition, perceived health, and athletic identity variables, as well as the relationship between them; (2) how transition, perceived health, and athletic identity variables contribute to: (a) healthy sport participation; (b) unhealthy sport participation; (c) quality of adjustment on the senior level of football; (d) life satisfaction. The theoretical frameworks included: the developmental model on transitions faced by athletes; the career transition model; the perceived health and sport/exercise participation model; the circle of health model. The participants (n = 126) were Swedish adolescent football players at local, national or international competitive levels. Three instruments were used in regard of the quantitative approach: the Transition Monitoring Survey; the Perceived Health and Sport Participation Profile; the Athletic Identity Measurement Scale. The transition variables were examined and several relationships were discovered between transition and perceived health variables, and athletic identity. Four multiple regression analyses showed that satisfaction with different spheres of life and coping strategies are significant positive predictors of healthy sport participation. Athletic identity, personal resources, and environmental pressure are significant positive predictors of unhealthy sport participation. In addition, environmental support was revealed to be a significant negative predictor of unhealthy sport participation. Importance of different aspects of sport and satisfaction with sport participation are significant positive predictors of the quality of adjustment on the senior level of sports, whereas importance of different spheres of life and athletic identity are significant negative predictors. Importance of different spheres of life and healthy sport participation are significant positive predictors of life satisfaction. The results are discussed in relation to theoretical frameworks and previous research. De teoretiska referensramarna inkluderade: the developmental model on transitions faced by athletes; the career transition model; the perceived health and sport/exercise participation model; the circle of health model.

Johnsson, Elin January 2010 (has links)
An Applied Model of Imagery Use in Exercise (Munroe-Chandler & Gammage, 2005). / Exercise is important for our health, but many who start exercise drop out in the near future (Fallon, Hausenblas, & Nigg, 2005). It is therefore important to develop strategies that motivate people to exercise. Imagery has been shown to have a motivating effect on exercisers. Kim and Giacobbi (2009) argue that there is a need to distinguish between content, functions and effects in exercise imagery and that a new instrument therefore is needed. The objectives of this study were therefore to: (1) develop and test the instrument Individual Profile of Imagery Experiences in Exercise (IPIEE; Weibull & Johnsson 2010) and (2) study exercisers’ voluntary and spontaneous imagery experiences. The theoretical frameworks that were used were the Analytic Framework of Imagery Experiences (Weibull, 2009) and An Applied Model of Imagery Use in Exercise (Munroe-Chandler & Gammage, 2005). The result shows that IPIEE worked well, that voluntary imagery was mostly used to increase motivation and the most spontaneous imagery patterns had an effect on motivation. The most common contents were Exercise situations followed by Non-exercise related events/situations. The results are discussed in relation to theoretical frameworks and previous research.

PSYKOSOCIALA FAKTORERS PÅVERKAN PÅ SKADERISKEN BLAND UNGDOMSLANDSLAGSSPELARE I FOTBOLL / Psychosocial factors influence on injuries among youth national soccer players

Hulander, Markus January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to study psychosocial factors influence on injury risk among youth national team soccer players. Obsessive passion has been a key factor that has been studied in relation to injury. Also the factors number of training hours per week, number of matches played, stress, self confidence and motivation has been studied in relation to injury. A quantitative design was used in which 300 Swedish youth national team soccer players have concluded as study participants. Used instruments in this survey has been PANAS, PSS, Grit-scale, PCLDS, Passion Scale, SCI and SMS.. The results showed that men incur more serious injuries then women. Furthermore, results showed that players with more than one injury during the season had higher obsessive passion then other players. The results are discussed in relation to the theoretical framework and the results from previous research. Proposal for future research in the field are provided.

Elitdressyrryttares visualiseringsupplevelser samt deras förståelse och upplevelse av instrumentet the Survey of imagery experiences in sport / Elite equestrian dressage riders’ imagery experiences and their understanding and experience of the instrument the Survey of imagery experiences in sport

Johnsson, Elin January 2010 (has links)
Blakeslee and Goff (2007) suggest that dressage riders’ imagery experience should be different from other sports that do not involve an animal. According to Murphy, Nordin and Cumming (2008), there is a need for an assessment instrument assessing the imagery type, function and outcome. The Survey of imagery experiences in sports (SIES, Weibull & Wallsbeck, 2009; Wallsbeck & Weibull, 2009) is a relatively new instrument that measures these variables. The objectives of this study was therefore to: (1) study the elite dressage riders’ imagery experiences, (2) study the elite dressage riders’ understanding and (3) experiences of the instrument SIES. A combination of qualitative and quantitative method was used in the study. The elite dressage riders’ imagery experiences partly differed from previous research. Most imagery patterns were for example used for the purpose find the right feeling and the auditory sense was included in many imagery patterns. The participants’ understanding and experience of SIES were good, with only a few ambiguities regarding for example effect and frequency.
