Björn, Teresia, Skodo, Adina January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of howindividuals experience that stalking victimization has influencedbehavioral changes in their everyday activities. Hütterová, Olivia January 2015 (has links)
A Abstract of the thesis "The Issue of an Offender's Personality in Criminology" Offender's personality is a summary of various aspects influencing one's behaviour in regards of a set offence. This paper focuses mainly on criminological and psychological aspects of people who commit violent crimes. It summarizes different typologies of offenders, schools of criminal causes, various aspects of personalities, and discusses prevention of criminality in the Czech Republic. In addition, it focuses greatly on stalking from theoretical as well as practical point of view through an extensive case study. The main foundation for this case study is a court case from early 2008, further anonymous due to request of the Municipal Court in Prague. Even though this case took place before stalking was recognised as a criminal offense in the Czech Republic, it served greatly as a foundation for its recognition, and thus plays a vital role. The main research questions of this thesis are a) "Why do people commit violent crimes?", and b) "What are the main intentions behind it?". With deeper understanding of the knowledge of offender's personality and motivation, findings of this paper can serve as a significant tool for prevention of criminal behaviour in society. The major research goal was to conduct the case study, and show...

Students' perceptions of sexual harassment at a Gauteng university campus

Wanyane, Dimakatso Maria 19 July 2012 (has links)
M.A. / South African society is experiencing high levels of violence against women. Various research studies have been conducted in South Africa and at international universities: they all indicate the presence of violence on campus. The researcher used a quantitative approach to gather information on students‟ perceptions of sexual violence and focused on gender differences and similarities. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students living in residence were invited to participate in the study. Significant findings of the study are that sexual harassment was rampant on this campus. In addition, there are gender differences in the perception of sexual harassment. Both genders agreed that direct, physical violence and electronic harassment both constitute sexual harassment. However, men and women did not agree that non-violent behaviour constitutes sexual harassment. It is noteworthy that some men reported having experienced non-violent forms of sexual harassment. The study established that rape was not common on this campus. Moreover, different forms of non-violent sexual harassment were widespread and that more women than men experienced various forms of sexual harassment on campus. Both male and females perpetrate sexual harassment. However, perpetrators were predominantly male with a significant number being students, academic and non-academic staff members. The majority of students were not aware of the procedure to follow if sexually harassed on campus and were unaware of the universitiy's sexual harassment policy. Males and females preferred talking to a friend about their sexual harassment and seldom used university resources. Sexual harassment occurred all over campus and the researcher strongly recommend that university management commit themselves to dealing with sexual harassment by clearly stating that sexual harassment is not tolerated on campus and introducing measures to address this problem.

Tayebi, Nilo, Zsido, Melinda January 2019 (has links)
The present study examined the perceptions and prevalence of ex-partner stalking among university students. It examined whether there were differences between young men and women in the perception of ex-partner stalking and how this perception is related to prior victimization. 508 respondents, of whom 195 were men and 313 were women between the ages of 19-29 (M = 22,7, SD = 2,3), answered a questionnaire, consisting of a script and a list of stalking-related behaviors. The results indicated that 168 (33.1%) respondents had prior experience with ex-partner stalking. Furthermore, the results showed that women perceived that it was more likely that stalking would occur compared to men in all continuations of the narrative in the script. The respondents who had prior experience with ex-partner stalking perceived the victim in the script as being responsible for their own victimization to a greater extent than those who did not have prior experience. These results emphasize the importance of increased knowledge and understanding, which can form the basis for preventive measures and subsequent support.

Šikana na pracovišti / The Vexation at the workplace

Chaloupková, Naďa January 2007 (has links)
The border between common and vexation matter of person behaviour we are accustomed to is very slight. The topic of my diploma paper "Vexation at the workplace" becomes very actual and constantly the bigger problem in the contemporary modern society. Everyday mentally terror at the workplace, vexation among the colleagues, systematically made malignancies through which the superiors attack their inferiors (or vice-versa) is a problem that belongs serious incoveniences both to its victims and the company. My diploma paper is above all focused on the sophisticated and malicious area of work-vexation that is called the mobbing. Marginally I mention other forms of vexation and the bossing. I made my exploration at the public service environment as the work-vexation is usually put together with it. Primarily I point the legal and moral side of the mobbing and its psychological and social aspects. Secondarily I mark the mobbing as a job-psychological phenomenon, its influence to the company itself and consequences between it and some modern society trends (teamwork, power, burn-out syndrome, internet technologies). Supposing to become the managers we should make effort to eliminate the mobbing. As only the workplace without the vexation brings the satisfaction that can results in higher level of the work productivity, economic profit and the the incapacity of work decreasement. Thereby the mobbing affects the whole life of its victim and also that anyone of us can become the victim it is necessary to solve this problem urgently and constantly.
