NIR-diode laser spectroscopy for isotope-selective sensing of soil-respired carbon dioxideHörner, Gerald, Lau, Steffen, Löhmannsröben, Hans-Gerd January 2004 (has links)
The performance of a home-built tunable diode laser (TDL) spectrometer has been optimized regarding multi-line detection of carbon dioxide in natural gases. In the regime of the (3001)III ← (000) band of 12CO2 around 1.6 μm, the dominating isotope species 12CO2, 13CO2, and 12C18O16O were detected simultaneously. In contrast to most established techniques, selective measurements are performed without any sample preparation. This is possible since the CO2 detection is free of interference from water, ubiquitous in natural gases. Detection limits in the range of a few ppmv were obtained for each species utilizing wavelength modulation (WM) spectroscopy with balanced detection in a long-path absorption cell set-up. Linear calibration plots cover a dynamic range of four orders of magnitude, allowing for quantitative CO2 detection in various samples, like soil and breath gas. High isotopic resolution enables the excellent selectivity, sensitivity, and stability of the chosen analytical concept. The obtained isotopic resolution of typically ± 1.0 ‰ and ± 1.5 ‰ (for 3 vol. % and 0.7 vol. % of CO2, respectively) offers a promising analytical tool for isotope-ratio determination of carbon dioxide in soil gas. Preliminary experiments on soil respiration for the first time combine the on-line quantification of the overall carbon dioxide content with an optode sensor and isotopic determination (TDL system) of natural gas species.

This project aims to understand the difficulties related to the acquisition of coreference of French speaking children with developmental language disorder (DLD) and to determine the various factors influencing its acquisition and mastery. The current definition of DLD indicates that it is a spoken language difficulty that affects both comprehension and expression. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by highly variable developmental delays in one or more language spheres.
Two theories are seen in detail: the computational grammatical complexity (CGC) hypothesis (van der Lely and Stollwerck, 1997) and the working memory–based account (Montgomery and Evans, 2009). The CGC theory proposes that the difficulties of using coreference are due to the innate representation of the syntax which would be immature for DLD children and particularly the principle B which would not be acquired. In contrast, Montgomery and Evans argue that this difficulty in understanding and using anaphoras stems from a limitation in working memory and specifically with the allocation and capacity of attentional resources.
Different factors influencing the acquisition of coreference in children with are discussed. First, the child must have lexical and semantic knowledge related to pronouns and anaphoras. Second, the child must acquire syntactic knowledge in order to know the possible antecedents for pronouns and anaphoras as well as the rules connecting them. Finally, working memory and the allocation and capacity of mental resources play an important role in the resolution of anaphoras.
It is thus clear, according to us, that the theories are not totally sufficient to explain the deficit in coreference, but they partly explain other types of problems which are necessary for the resolution of the anaphora. The resolution of anaphoras is an important phenomenon for a good understanding of developmental language disorder, especially in French speaking children, since it is a clinical marker of the disorder in French.

TENA Performance in a Telemetry Network SystemSaylor, Kase J., Wood, Paul B., Malatesta, William A., Abbott, Ben A. 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2009 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Fifth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 26-29, 2009 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / The integrated Network-Enhanced Telemetry (iNET) project conducted an assessment to determine how the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) would integrate into an iNET Telemetry Network System (TmNS), particularly across constrained environments on a resource constrained platform. Some of the key elements investigated were quality of service measures (throughput, latency, and reliability) in the face of projected characteristics of iNET Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) devices including size, weight, and power (SWAP), and processing capacity such as memory size and processor speed. This paper includes recommendations for both the iNET and TENA projects.

Previous issue date: 2007-04-27 / In this research paper, I try to analyse the prophetic actions of Dom Antonio
Ribeiro de Oliveira when he was Metropolitan Archbishop of Goiânia. The
dissertation is divided into three chapters, the first presents historical elements
of the Archdiocese of Goiânia, starting with the presence of the first colonizers
who reached the region. In the second chapter, the theoretical references are
presented: biblical and theological foundations and a sociological overview,
using classics of sociology of religion, especially works of Otto Maduro. In the
third chapter I try to define in detail why certain specific pastoral acts of Dom
Antonio can be considered prophetical, using the references exposed in the
previous chapter. Finally, in the conclusion I try to prove the hypothesis
presented in the beginning. Considering the historical, social and eclesial
circumstance of the Archdiocese, which influenced Dom Antonio in his pastoral
activity it is possible to affirm that his action can be characterized as prophetic,
using the referentials adopted. Those acts also influenced the historical, social
and eclesial formation of the society in which he lived and worked as
Archbishop.
No segundo, o referencial teórico:
No terceiro
do referencial trabalhado do capítulo anterior. Por fim, na conclusão procurouse
comprovar a hipótese apresentada inicialmente. E considerando as

A 1.8 ps Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) Implemented in a 20 nm Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Using a Ones-Counter Encoding Scheme with Embedded Bin-Width Calibrations and Temperature CorrectionSven, Engström January 2020 (has links)
This thesis investigates the use of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to implement a time-to-digital converter (TDC) with on-chip calibration and temperature correction.Using carry-chains on the Xilinx Kintex UltraScale architecture to create a tapped delay line (TDL) has previously been proven to give good time resolution. This project improves the resolution further by using a bit-counter to handle bubbles in the TDL without removing any taps. The bit counter also adds the possibility of using a wave-union approach previously dismissed as unusable on this architecture. The final implementation achieves an RMS resolution of 1.8 ps.
