Usage and Non-usage Behaviour of eHealth Services Among Chinese Canadians Caring for a Family Member with DementiaChiu, M. L. Teresa 30 July 2008 (has links)
Background: Information Communication Technologies (ICT)-mediated support can reduce family caregiver burden and may bridge service gaps caused by time constraints and language or cultural barriers. (Non)-usage behaviour can be explained using Andersen’s Behavioural Model of Health Service Utilization, Venkatesh’s Unified Theory of Use and Acceptance of Technology, Eysenbach’s Law of Attrition, and Wilson’s and Chatman’s Information Behaviour Theories. Purpose: This study aimed to describe and explain (non)-usage behaviour of ehealth services among Chinese caregivers. Method: This two-phase study used a mixed methods design involving 46 Chinese caregivers who cared for a family member with dementia. Usability of the ICT tools designed in the study was tested. Phase I participants (N=28) had access to a bilingual information site and personalized email support from professionals. Phase II participants (N=18) were randomized to use one of three enhanced features. Pre- and post-intervention data were collected, and qualitative interviews were conducted. Results: The Phase I ICT tools supported the core functions without major usability issues. Perceived efforts to use the ICT-mediated services influenced the consent decisions of Phase I caregivers (p=.036). Caregivers initiated service earlier if they had a higher acceptance of the service (p=0.017). Frequent users of email support experienced a decline of perceived burden compared with an escalation of perceived burden by non-users (p=0.023). An older age, greater caregiving competence, and lower English or computer proficiency explained non-usage behaviour. Requirements were identified to enhance the Phase I ICT tools. In Phase II, a test of three enhanced features showed there was no major usability issue. The intervention study found the enhanced features did not influence email use as hypothesized. Qualitative analysis showed usage patterns were explained by caregiver needs, caregiving beliefs, personal capacity, social support, ICT factors, and style of use. Non-users preferred Chinese to English compared with users (p=0.046). Integrating the theories and empirical findings, three concepts were developed to explain (non)-usage behaviour: usage in context, usage paths, and stages of use. Conclusion: Usage and non-usage behaviour can be explained by the service needs in the caregiving context, the use of non-ICT-mediated resources, and the access barriers to Internet use. Use of ICT-based support can be beneficial to caregivers if they do not drop out of the service.

以網路外部性探討行動應用程式對智慧型手機購買意圖之影響 / Exploring the effect of mobile apps on purchase intention of smart phone by network externalities黃詩婷 Unknown Date (has links)

The Impact of Learning Management System Usage on Cognitive and Affective PerformanceMabed, Metwaly, Köhler, Thomas 14 December 2012 (has links) (PDF)
1 INTRODUCTION
Since learning management systems (LMSs) are offering a great variety of channels and workspaces to facilitate information sharing and communication among learners during learning process, many educational organizations have adopted a specific LMS into their educational context. A LMS is a software that handles learning tasks such as creating course catalogs, registering students, providing access to course components, tracking students within courses, recording data about students, and providing reports about usage and outcomes to teachers [1]. LMSs include several applications such as OLAT, WebCT, Moodle, ATutor, Ilias, and Claroline. However, LMSs can be utilized to integrate a wide range of multimedia materials, blogs, forums, quizzes, and wikis. Therefore, the researchers suggest that studying the influence of technology usage on end-users, especially students, is fundamental in learning and teaching environment. Despite educational organizations routinely make decisions regarding the best pedagogical approaches for supporting students’ performance, there is very little research on the impact of LMSs on learning outcomes [2]. Indeed, a considerable number of studies were conducted to examine the adoption of various LMSs, whereas little researches focused on understanding how educational institutes can enhance learning and teaching process through a particular LMS [3]. Consistent with this, the researchers found virtually no research on investigating the relationship between LMSs usage and attitude toward learning.

Adoption, Anpassung oder Abkehr? - Eine Studie zur Nutzung von kollaborativen Web 2.0-Anwendungen durch StudierendeRenken, Uta, Bullinger, Angelika C. 14 December 2012 (has links) (PDF)
1 EINLEITUNG

Exploring the development of a framework for agile methodologies to promote the adoption and use of cloud computing services in South AfricaMwansa, Gardner 24 August 2016 (has links)
The emergence of cloud computing is influencing how businesses develop, re-engineer, and
implement critical software applications. The cloud requires developers to elevate the
importance of compliance with security policies, regulations and internal engineering standards
in their software development life cycles. Cloud computing and agile development
methodologies are new technologies associated with new approaches in the way computing
services are provisioned and development of quality software enhanced. However adoption and
use of agile and cloud computing by SMMEs in South Africa is seemingly constrained by a
number of technical and non-technical challenges. Using Grounded Theory and case study
method this study was aimed at exploring the development of a framework for agile
methodologies to promote the adoption and use of cloud computing services by SMMEs in
South Africa. Data was collected through survey and in-depth interviews. Open, Axial and
Selective coding was used to analyse the data.
In tandem with its main objective the study, besides exploring the development of the envisaged framework, also generated and made available valuable propositions and knowledge
that SMMEs in South Africa using agile development methodologies can use to work better
with cloud computing services in the country without compromising on software quality. The
findings of this study and the emerging insights around the development of the framework,
which in itself also constitutes an important decision making tool for supporting adoption and
use of cloud computing services, are a substantial contribution to knowledge and practice in
the ICT field of information systems in South Africa / Information Science / D. Phil. (Information Systems)

[en] BUILDING TRUST IN THE AGE OF DISTRUST: BRAZILIAN CONSUMER MOBILE SHOPPING BEHAVIOR / [pt] CONSTRUINDO CONFIANÇA NA ERA DA DESCONFIANÇA: COMPORTAMENTO DE COMPRA POR DISPOSITIVOS MÓVEIS DO CONSUMIDOR BRASILEIROCRISTIANE JUNQUEIRA GIOVANNINI 11 July 2018 (has links)
[en] Trust is an core element in relationships. This dissertation proposes a model in which a multidimensional trust construct mediates consumer intention to purchase products and services using a mobile device. This study also analises impacts of product type on the proposed relations and compares three different models each one using an alternative representation of trust in order to expand academic knowledge regarding trusting relationships in mobile contexts. An online survey using social networks provided the data used in a structural equation modeling analysis. Results show that trust constructs should be multidimensional whenever trust is a construct of importance, that trust mediates the relationships between mobile devices innovative characteristics and adoption of mobile commerce, that search and experience products produce different effects, and that ease of use of mobile devices and vendor competence play important parts in the adoption and use of mobile commerce.

Previous issue date: 2009-09-04 / This study examines the factors that influence public managers in the adoption of advanced practices related to Information Security Management. This research used, as the basis of assertions, Security Standard ISO 27001:2005 and theoretical model based on TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) from Venkatesh and Davis (2000). The method adopted was field research of national scope with participation of eighty public administrators from states of Brazil, all of them managers and planners of state governments. The approach was quantitative and research methods were descriptive statistics, factor analysis and multiple linear regression for data analysis. The survey results showed correlation between the constructs of the TAM model (ease of use, perceptions of value, attitude and intention to use) and agreement with the assertions made in accordance with ISO 27001, showing that these factors influence the managers in adoption of such practices. On the other independent variables of the model (organizational profile, demographic profile and managers behavior) no significant correlation was identified with the assertions of the same standard, witch means the need for expansion researches using such constructs. It is hoped that this study may contribute positively to the progress on discussions about Information Security Management, Adoption of Safety Standards and Technology Acceptance Model / Este estudo analisa os fatores que influenciam os gestores p?blicos na ado??o de pr?ticas van?adas de Gest?o de Seguran?a da Informa??o.

Previous issue date: 2010-09-03 / In recent decades the public sector comes under pressure in order to improve its performance. The use of Information Technology (IT) has been a tool increasingly used in reaching that goal. Thus, it has become an important issue in public organizations, particularly in institutions of higher education, determine which factors influence the acceptance and use of technology, impacting on the success of its implementation and the desired organizational
results. The Technology Acceptance Model - TAM was used as the basis for this study and is based on the constructs perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. However, when it comes to integrated management systems due to the complexity of its implementation, organizational factors were added to thus seek further explanation of the acceptance of such systems. Thus, added to the model five TAM constructs related to critical success factors in
implementing ERP systems, they are: support of top management, communication, training, cooperation, and technological complexity (BUENO and SALMERON, 2008). Based on the foregoing, launches the following research problem: What factors influence the acceptance and use of SIE / module academic at the Federal University of Para, from the users' perception of teachers and technicians? The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of organizational factors, and behavioral antecedents of behavioral intention to use the SIE / module academic UFPA in the perspective of teachers and technical users. This is applied research, exploratory and descriptive, quantitative with the implementation of a survey, and data collection occurred through a structured questionnaire applied to a sample of 229 teachers and 30 technical and administrative staff. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling with the technique of partial least squares (PLS). Effected primarily to assess the measurement model, which were verified reliability, convergent and discriminant validity for all indicators and constructs. Then the structural model was analyzed using the bootstrap resampling technique like. In assessing statistical significance, all hypotheses were supported. The coefficient of determination (R ?)
was high or average in five of the six endogenous variables, so the model explains 47.3% of the variation in behavioral intention. It is noteworthy that among the antecedents of behavioral intention (BI) analyzed in this study, perceived usefulness is the variable that has a
greater effect on behavioral intention, followed by ease of use (PEU) and attitude (AT). Among the organizational aspects (critical success factors) studied technological complexity (TC) and training (ERT) were those with greatest effect on behavioral intention to use, although these effects were lower than those produced by behavioral factors (originating from TAM). It is pointed out further that the support of senior management (TMS) showed, among
all variables, the least effect on the intention to use (BI) and was followed by communications (COM) and cooperation (CO), which exert a low effect on behavioral intention (BI). Therefore, as other studies on the TAM constructs were adequate for the present research.
Thus, the study contributed towards proving evidence that the Technology Acceptance Model can be applied to predict the acceptance of integrated management systems, even in public.
No entanto,
A presente pesquisa ?
facilidade de uso (PEU) e a atitude (AT).
