It's through the body image that the femininity contours draws itself but, it seems possible to catch a glimpse of feminine expression only through the flaw or the rift of it. Similar to the uncontrolled expression of the unconscious, feminine expression displays itself like the slip of the tongue or the parapraxis. Consequently, it seems necessary to point the different relation a woman maintains to her drives. It's through a potential link between drive and body image that the feminine expression seems to take place. To do so, maternal unconscious and the mother's look requires particular attention; insofar as, the mother's optic drive will be differently investing a girl child body. Through a look non-limited by the signifier, it will be question for the girl to invest her whole body and this will lead her to a diffuse and hardly containable relation to her own drive. The multiplicity of phallic inscriptions on the girl's body renders differently her relation to images – the overinvestment signs, beside all, fragility. The look that the expression by images sparks off distorts the feminine call, which can only rise in the absence of words and sayings. The new social requirement seems hardly articulate itself with the roots of familial discourse; it is, though, possible to glimpse the inhibition of thoughts by the way images are overinvested.

Towards a Phenomenology of Repression - a Husserlian Reply to the Freudian ChallengeSmith, Nicholas January 2010 (has links)
This is the first book-length philosophical study of Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology and Freud’s theory of the unconscious. The book investigates the possibility for Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology to clarify Freud’s concept of the unconscious with a focus on the theory of repression as its centre. Repression is the unconscious activity of pushing something away from consciousness, while making sure that it remains active as something foreign within us. How this is possible is the main problem addressed in the work. Unlike previous literature (including Ricœur, Merleau-Ponty and Derrida) this book makes full use of the resources of genetic phenomenology and passivity in the attempt to clarify the Freudian unconscious. The central argument developed is that the structure of the lebendige Gegenwart as the core of Husserl’s theory of passivity consists of preliminary forms of bodily kinaesthesia, feelings and drives in a constantly ongoing process where repression occurs as a necessary part of all constitution. The clarification of Freudian repression thus takes place by showing how it presupposes a broad conception of consciousness such as that presented by Husserl’s genetic phenomenology. By arguing that “repression” is central to any philosophical account of subjectivity, this book takes on the most distinct challenge to philosophy posed by Freud.

Nos résultats confirment l’ambiguïté émergeant de la littérature relative aux zones de contours les plus informatives, et semblent conforter la nécessité d’un haut degré d’automaticité des processus impliqués dans la perspective de mettre en évidence des effets d’amorçage perceptif / Three main hypotheses exist concerning the most informative local features of contour for binding processes, allowing visual object identification: vertices and 3D features (Biederman, 1987 ; Boucart et al, 1995), midsegments elements (Kennedy R& Domander, 1985, Singh & Fulvio, 2005), and the interaction betweenfragmentation type and complexity of the global form (Panis & Wagemans, 2009). The aim of this work is to confront these hypotheses, while trying to determine the level (conscious or unconscious) at which the detection and the processing of these features occur. Conscious and unconscious priming paradigms are employed. Drawings of fragmented objects contain either vertices and 3D features or midsegment elements. They are used as primes, preceding a fragmented target image of the same object containing identical or complementary contour features. None of these four experiments highlight a qualitative effect of fragmentation types. However, a quantitative priming effect can be observed under certain timing conditions. Our results confirm the ambiguity emerging from literature concerning the most informative contour features and the necessity of a high degree of automatism of the processes involved in order to highlight perceptual priming effects

The unconscious life of the child with obsessive-compulsive disorderEpstein, Tamarin Gwendolyn 19 May 2008 (has links)
This qualitative study explores the unconscious life of four children diagnosed
with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) specifically related to selfconcept,
personality, and psychopathology using a case study approach. A
review of literature on childhood OCD is presented and the study is located
within a psychodynamic theoretical framework. Findings indicate that the
children are emotionally maladjusted, with high levels of anxiety and
psychopathology. They have low self-esteem and poor body images, mostly
tending towards immaturity. Two of the children have personality disturbances
(neurotic, hysterical personalities). All the children have disturbed superegos
(harsh or neurotic).
Although their symptoms are currently mild, and some have ceased, analysis
suggests they have been repressed and continue to affect them. They are
sexually preoccupied and conflicted due to the unsuccessful resolution of the
Oedipus complex. They have poor impulse control and considerable anger
and aggression (mostly overt). They experience their environment as unstable
and frightening and have anxieties about physical injury and being watched.
The boys have regressed sex drives and homosexual tendencies, and have
not identified with their fathers. The girls have identified with their mothers but
experience masturbation guilt and blocked sexual drives, causing anxiety and
moodiness. The children are all highly defended and escape from feelings of
helplessness, inadequacy, and isolation, and discharge anxiety and
aggressive instincts by using the defenses of undoing, reaction formation,
acting-out, fantasy (sometimes violent), projection, displacement, and
intellectualisation. Their strong dependency needs suggest fixation in the oral
stage of psychosexual development. They tend towards self-directed
aggression and depression. Most have family histories of mood disorders
(particularly depression), and obsessions linked to fears of economic hardship
due to parental illness or death. Most have histories of anxiety disorders or
anxiety-related problems, and family histories of anxiety disorders
and/paternal OCD. They all experienced a personally traumatic event
precipitating the onset of OCD.

Image inconsciente du corps familial et liens familiaux à l'épreuve du syptôme obésité à l'adolescence / Unconscious image of family body and family bonds to the test of symptom adolescent obesitySchwailbold, Marie-Anne 05 December 2014 (has links)
So far, research has only considered obesity in an individual point of view, but this scourge is still getting increasing, especially among children and teenagers. For this reason, we have decided to bring a new point of view and focus upon the family and the way its members behave with one another, thus placing obesity at the heart of inter-subjective relationships. Hence we chose a psychoanalytical perspective and used groupal projective tools, the projective genography test (a free drawing of a family tree) and the family projective spatiography test (a drawing of the dream house). These projective tests examine the diachronic and synchronic dimensions and materialize a unconscious picture of the family body. We therefore carried out a longitudinal study with a representative sample of 43 families whose teenager suffered from obesity. The results show how weak and vulnerable the envelope of the family group can be. Concerning intersubjective bonds, we spotted a psychic undifferenciation leading to isomorphic relationships. Finally, we noticed that the teenage having been separated from his family proved to be traumatic, and that it reactivated former traumas. Thus families build strong strategies of resistance to counteract the fact that one member is changing, forcing the teenager to regain his previous position within the family, by regaining weight, in order to maintain family homeostasis

O discurso da autonomia em saúde mental: construção, reprodução, institucionalização e criação / Not informed by the authorOtsuka, Ed 05 April 2017 (has links)
Assim, a problemática da autonomia desloca-se para a de criação / In the present work, we aim to explicit how the discourse of autonomy promotion is established and reproduced by several actors in the mental health field, especially the workers, who utter it most of the time as a way to support their actions. In order to do so, we have analysed how the notion of autonomy is sustained by institutions and how it sharply reaches the users of mental health services, upon whom institutional actions and practices fall. Throughout the research, we have considered that the type of psychoanalysis that interpret an individual as a part of a group consists in the most appropriate theoretical framework to discuss the processes that encompass the theme, as it considers the dimensions of subjectivity, society, groups and institutions. We think it is fundamental to understand how the autonomy of the subject has been shaped since his constitution, which occurs in the relationship with the other and the world, thus defining his intrapsychic and intersubjective reality. Based on René Kaës\'s work and the concept of unconscious alliances, we have discussed the way by which the subject is built, considering the relationship between external and internal worlds inseparable. The alliances play the role of intermediary. In order to understand how the subject enters the world, we stress the importance of the imperative of contracts and pacts, especially the narcissist contract and the denegativo pact, by means of a process of psychic economy that is aimed at guaranteeing each subject possible ways of survival and interactions. By means of these types of unconscious alliances, the subject seeks self-preservation and the perpetuation of the group, the institution and the species. Based on Piera Aulagnier, we have immersed ourselves in the processes of the constitution of the subject, which is determined by the relationship with the mother, the first representative of the world, who presents him his possibilities of representation of the world. So, his possibilities of subjectivation, identity building and action are limited and shaped by all the aspects that the reality, which comes before the subject, gives to him. The aim of this work consists in stimulating a discussion that may bring possibilities of analysis and ruptures as well of the discourses that are established and reproduced in an alienated way. By elaborating the psychic processes that are involved in the institutional framework, it is possible to identify the possibility that each subject who participates in this reality has to overcome this context. Considering that the search for knowledge and innovation is inherent in every subject, we have discussed the process of creation that consists in a tension between the established situation and different scenarios, which may arise when there is a dialectical tie between them, thus overcoming the dilematic state that imposes a stoppage on this relationship. In other words, the question of autonomy gives way to that of creation

Psiquismo e vida: o conceito de impulso nas obras de Freud, Schopenhauer e Nietzsche / Psychism and life: the concept of drive in the works of Freud, Schopenhauer and NietzscheFonseca, Eduardo Ribeiro da 05 March 2010 (has links)
Fonseca, Eduardo Ribeiro da. Psiquismo e Vida. / This thesis aims at reconstructing the origins of Freud\'s concept of drive from an understanding of what is said about the same subject in the works of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. Although these philosophers did not systematize the concept, it is a fundamental theoretical operator in the works of these philosophers, what makes possible an attempt to systematize as from what is said at various moments in their works. Our task is, at first, to reconstruct the formulations and reformulations of the theory of drive in Freud comparing it with the arguments of these philosophers on psychism and life, which are inevitably the problems of body and drive as representative of the desire on the organism. It is about to expose and analyze the arguments of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche in order to build a more wide metapsychology in its historical context and at the same time to show in what sense the same approach of psychoanalytic background can contribute to broaden the horizons of studies of the works of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche. In this sense, this work aims to reflect on the difficulty involved in the task of addressing a concept that cannot be, by its very nature, entirely free from our discursive assumptions. Our challenge is to examine the commonalities of the psychoanalytic approach to drive present in both philosophies and investigate issues such as the opposition between conscious and unconscious, the circularity of physiology of drive. Moreover, the absence of rational ground for the psychism shared by these three authors requires that their views on the ethical drive to be exposed and compared. This issue is related, in all them, to the problem of suffering, helplessness and the debate on affirmation and negation of desire and life. Thus, at a third and concluding moment, we will contrast their thesis on sublimation, the privileged destination of drive, but considered by the Viennese psychoanalyst the most complex and almost inaccessible aspect of psychology of the unconscious. Freuds difficulties in writing on the concept of sublimation of drive expose the need for retrieving the arguments of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche on the subject to the extent that they help to clarify drives logic of operation. This debate is at the heart of considerations on the future possibilities not only of metapsychology, but also of the clinic\'s daily psychoanalysis.

Ouro, cobre e chumbo: A psicanálise, o grupo e o movimento analítico brasileiro em tempos de ditadura / Gold, copper and lead: psychoanalysis, group and the Brazilian psychoanalytic movement during military dictatorship timesSilveira, Fernando da 26 February 2016 (has links)
This current paper seeks to understand the role that unconscious alliances play in the institutionalization of Brazilian psychoanalysis. The psyche is understood starting from an intersubjective perspective, as proposed by Kaës. The hypothesis is that, beginning in the 1970s, one of the effects of unconscious alliances has been to restrict the possibility of psychoanalysis to deal with the question of the group within the Brazilian analytical movement. Under the shadow of Freuds narcissism, the group has paradoxically been the basis for the transmission of psychoanalysis and a denied object of study from the founding of the Brazilian psychoanalytical movement. The objective of this study is to contribute to the debate concerning the relationship between the group and the institutionalization of the Brazilian psychoanalytical movement. Based on a reading of texts published in the Brazilian Journal of Psychoanalysis (BJP) [Revista Brasileira de Psicanálise -- RBP], it looks for elements to try to understand the moving away from group work in psychoanalytic institutions, a fact that can be observed until the present day. Unconscious alliances are intermediary formations that are at the root of the construction of the ties between a singular subject and a group which make up the psychic supports of an institution. Texts on the institutionalization of psychoanalysis in Brazil were subjected to interpretation. Elucidating the past may aid in analyzing the resistance that still exists and which, in the present, impedes the extension of psychoanalysis to inclusion of the group as a legitimate field of study. A total of 55 texts published between 1967 and 1976 have been analyzed. This analysis was then divided into two periods: 1967 to 1970 and 1971 to 1976. Until 1970, several psychoanalysts attempted to validate group work as being psychoanalytical. After 1970, the limits of psychoanalysis were confined to the study of intrapsychic processes in bipersonal clinical situations. Work with groups remained outside of the Brazilian psychoanalytical movement as it was not legitimized as being truly psychoanalytic. At the same time, there was an insistent return of that repressed work as the crises of group relations in society were increasingly discussed in the pages of the BJP. As Kaës has stated, the group is the fourth narcissistic wound of humanity, and was also an important narcissistic wound for psychoanalysis from which it tried to defend itself during the period studied. The constant attacks on intermediate spaces, beginning with the social metaframework and extending to the institutional framework, argue for the existence of a rift that holds psychoanalysis within a strictly narcissistic condition, one in which the libido turns towards self--preservation.. The continuity of life occurs by means of the other, by means of the group and not by means of the Self. Building a culture of the group that may serve as a psychic support so that our narcissism may be of service to future generations and the continuity of life is indeed a great challenge

Previous issue date: 2006-08-31 / The following dissertation has the objective of presenting the archetypal images of
the suffering of the just revealed by the myth of Jo. The material studied was
extracted of the book of Jo inserted in the Holy Bible. The author intends to analyze,
with this essay, the suffering of a just, knowing the symptoms came from trauma;
identifying the levels of mourning; recognizing the perceptions of this character about
himself, his suffering, people around him and his divinity; as well as analyzing the
suffering in three dimensions: physical, psychical and spiritual. Through the reading
of the myth, the author intends to identify the archetypal images expressed both in
speech and in Jo s actions. Using these analyses as a starting point it is also
possible to notice the model of suffering of a just, his or her difficulties, pain, as well
as the process of overcoming the mourning and the reintegration of his physical and
spiritual health.
justo, conhecendo os sintomas advindos do trauma; identificando as fases do luto;

Previous issue date: 2009-03-24 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The main purpose of this research is understand the experience of expansion of
consciousness, lived along de process of psychotherapy after Calatonia and
expressed by means of making mandalas and its subsequent associations. It
deals with a qualitative research, based in clinical cases interpreted through the
lumen of Jungian Analytic Psychology. The expansion occurred always that
some unconscious content was integrated to the consciousness in this process.
When the unconscious content was retained by mechanisms of defense,
pressuring and provoking the increase of the unconscious energetic level, the
emergency of a new symbol, enabled by Calatonia and expressed in the
mandalas and/or in the process of associations, allowed the transformation of
the structure of the consciousness and the assimilation of the unconscious
content, that formerly couldn t be assimilated. Both experiences, corporal and
artistic, in the process of Calatonia and the accomplishment of mandalas, based
on the singularity of the relationship between patient and therapist, reproduced
similar conditions of the first relations between people, propitiating the
transformation of the complexes and the expansion of consciousness / O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender a experiência de ampliação de
assimilado.
