Perdón y estilos de apego en universitarios que tienen una relación de pareja / Forgiveness and Attachment styles in college students who have a relationship

Angeles Lujan , Pierina 27 November 2020 (has links)
The study sought to determine the relationship between forgiveness and attachment styles in college students who are in a relationship. To this end, a quantitative empirical study of an associative type was developed with 260 students who are in a relationship with a partner who reported some type of transgression in their relationship. The instruments used were the Couple Relationship Forgiveness Scale and the Adult Attachment Styles Scale. The results show that there is a positive, statistically significant relationship with a low effect size between the factors positive affect and benevolence and positive cognition with the avoidant attachment style. On the other hand, a negative, statistically significant and low effect size relationship was found between positive behavior and compassion with anxious attachment (fear of distance from partner's affection). In turn, a negative, statistically significant and moderate effect size relationship was found between positive affect and positive behavior and compassion with anxious attachment (fear of abandonment). It is concluded that if one of the members of the couple is transgressed, they have an avoidant attachment, which will enable their ability to forgive. / Tesis

Hur motiverar Studenthälsan universitetsstudenter till minskad alkoholkonsumtion? : - En kvalitativ intervjuundersökning / How Student Health Center motivate university students to reduce alcohol consumption?  : A qualitative interview study

Al-Fayadh Mean, Sophada January 2019 (has links)
Abstract   Mean, A.F. S. (2019). How Student Health Center motivate university students to reduce alcohol consumption? A qualitative interview study was carried out at three selected Swedish universities and four professionals employed were included in this empirical study. Bachelor thesis in Public Health Science. Department of Occupational and Public Health Science. Faculty of Health and Occupational Studies. University of Gävle, Sweden.   Background: Universities and Student Health Centers are arenas that works with motivation methods to reduce student’s alcohol consumption during studies. Previous studies have discussed social norms, alcohol culture and pointed out that nearly half of all Swedes between 18-25 years are university students. Over the years, this age group has had a higher alcohol intake compared to other periods in life. High alcohol consumption can affect health and all three sustainable aspects: social, economic and environmental sustainability that according to SDGs is to be achieved at year end 2030. The Aim of study: was to investigate how Student Health Centers motivate students to reduce alcohol consumption. Method: A qualitative interview study was carried out at three selected Swedish universities and four professionals’ employees at Student health centers were included in this investigation. Result: The Student Health Centers used a number of different evidence-based methods and strategies with motivational interview to motivate university students to reduce their alcohol consumption. Motivational work was focused on both individuals and groups. Motivational work based on personal experiences and the implementation of motivational conversations with students were accordance with students´ health status and their alcohol issues. Discussion: Students search motivational counseling not because of perceived alcohol problem, but due to stress factors and similar problems. A change in attitudes towards less alcohol intake among young adults could be reached due to increased awareness and knowledge of alcohol harm and alcohol-free drinks alternatives. Conclusion: The main task of the student Health Service is to try to reach all university students by using different motivational methods and tools. The main goal is to increase health promotion, reduce alcohol risk, prevent alcohol abuse and injuries at universities and colleges. Further qualitative research is needed to be able to identify patterns of underlying stress factors and alcohol-related ill-health among university students on a larger number of Universities and Student Health Centers.

Bienestar psicológico y motivación de logro atribucional en estudiantes universitarios peruanos / Psychological well-being and attributional achievement motivation in Peruvian university students

Ríos González, Blanca María, Sillau Pacheco, Silvana Fiorella 29 September 2020 (has links)
This research aims to determinate the relationship between psychological well-being and the dimensions of the motivation attributional achievement in Peruvian university students. The sample was conforming by 344 civil engineering students, of which 54.1% belonged to a public university; and 45.9% to a private one in Lima Metropolitana, between 18 and 29 years old. The 17% of the sample were women; and 83% men. The 12.2% works; while 87.8% do not. Likewise, 54.4% perform some physical activity and 45.6% do not. The validation of Dominguez (2014) of “Scale of Psychological Well-being for Adults” (BIEPS-A) was used; and, the “General Achievement Motivational Attribution Scale” (EAML-G) of Durán-Aponte and Elvira-Valdés (2015). The results showed that the global score os psychological well-being is directly and slightly correlated with both patterns, adaptative (r = 0.29); and, maladaptive (r = 0.28). It is concluded that there is a relationship between psychological well-being and motivational patterns of attributional achievement. Both adaptative and maladaptive patterns have little relation to the dimensions of psychological well-being: projects, autonomy, social ties, and acceptance. In addition, people who work show greater social ties and autonomy; and, those who do physical activity, greater autonomy and acceptance. / Tesis

Gharbi, Zeïneb 01 1900 (has links)
Electronic reading is taking an increasing place in the total reading space of students. Although the first e-reading systems, commonly called electronic books or ebooks, have been existing for several years, opinions about their potential still diverge. A great variety of electronic scholarly content is now offered to students, and this involves a multiplication of uses as well as a variety of reading modes. E-reading systems are now an integral part of the electronic environment to which students have access and need to be studied in greater depth. Many experiments have been conducted in public libraries and academic libraries on electronic books. Research was undertaken on their usability and the degree of readers’ satisfaction in order to improve their design. However, few studies have tackled the reading practices of scholars (in particular students) and their perceptions of these new reading systems. Our research focuses on these aspects by studying two different e-reading systems, the Tablet PC (portable device) and a Web-books system, NetLibrary (reading interface integrated into a Web navigator). Our research investigates the reading practices of students on electronic books. It is guided by three research questions : (1) students’ reading strategies (before, during and after reading), (2) elements of the e-reading system which influence (positively or negatively) the reading process, and (3) students’ perceptions of the electronic book technology and its potential contribution to their scholarly work. For this research, a mixed-method approach was chosen, using three modes of data collection : a questionnaire, semi-structured interviews with students having used one e-reading system, and the capture of reading traces (annotations, highlights, etc.) left by students in the systems, after use. Respondents in our study (n=46) were students at the Université de Montréal, from three departments (Library & information sciences, Communications and Linguistics & translation). About half of them (n=21) were interviewed. Furthermore, reading traces left by students in the e-reading systems were analysed. Data from interviews and answers to open questions of the questionnaire were subjected to content analysis, while data from the closed questions of the questionnaire were summarized statistically. Our results show that, generally, the reading goal, the type and structure of the text, student’s reading practices and functionalities of the e-reading system are the elements which determine and orient the choice and use of reading strategies. Helps and barriers for the reading process were identified for each of the two e-reading systems under study. Help mostly consists in elements of the paper book metaphor in the electronic reading environment (delimited page, pagination, etc.), the integrated dictionary, and the fact that ereading systems facilitate text skimming. As for the barriers, reading instrumentation seems to affect text appropriation by the reader. Moreover, the electronic reading (eg. « on screen ») involved lack of concentration and visual tiredness, particularly with NetLibrary. Both the Tablet PC and NetLibrary were considered easy to use, although not always comfortable, discomfort with NetLibrary being more manifest. Students believe that the two e-reading systems are practical tools for their academic work, although for various reasons, specific to each reading system. Overall evaluation of the e-reading experience by respondents was judged positive for the Tablet PC, and somewhat mitigated for NetLibrary. This research contributes to the knowledge on : (1) electronic reading, in particular that of student readers, and (2) the impact of a reading system on reading effectiveness, on readers, on the achievement of a reading goal, and on reading strategies used. In addition to the limits of this study, suggestions for future research are presented.

A study in alcohol : A comparison of data mining methods for identifying binge drinking risk factors in university students / En studie i alkohol : En jämförelse av dataminingmetoder för identifieringen av bakomliggande riskfaktorer hos universitetsstudenter

Lamprou, Sokrates January 2021 (has links)
Hazardous alcohol consumption is an issue that affects a lot of university students today. Consuming alcohol tend to have a negative impact on both mental and physical aspects, which can lead to severe alcohol addictions in the future. This study investigates which background factors that causes the phenomenon of binge drinking by collecting and analysing data from Linköping University. The results were analysed with data mining techniques such as: decision trees, random forest, and logistic regression. The results showed that logistic regression were the most reliable method in predicting binge drinking with an accuracy of (86.50 %), precision (92.64 %) and recall (90.96 %). The findings also showed that participation in student events together with higher weekly alcohol consumption predicted binge drinking. Additionally, other risk factors were the amounts of time the students spent with their friends and the students activity in partaking in their programs section (program association). The results from this study suggest that the student culture not only influence alcohol consumption but it induces the habits of binge drinking.

Education is one of the most key areas at the sectoral level; it is one of the main pillars in any society for the growth and progress of a country. A country with greater opportunities for education as a promotion of this will be a much more competitive country at a sectorial and global level. For years, education in Peru has been more than a right, it has been a privilege that for years has been evidenced in both public and private education. Currently in Peru, there are hundreds of communities that do not have the necessary means to provide adequate classes to children at both primary and secondary level. All this was affected by the pandemic that stopped the educational processes and meant a challenge to implement online education. A challenge that little by little schools have been making efforts to improve the quality of teaching, trying not to lose the real figure that is gradually fading. The reality of the current education is not very encouraging, the level of performance of thousands of students significantly lower with virtual classes is not surprising since the low investment in the sector makes the decisions of the Ministry of Education much more complicated. Education is now a challenge and many schoolchildren do not understand their classes, do not improve their performance and the level of satisfaction is exceptionally low. Under this context, our vision is to bring a new view of online education, an improved one where education is the protagonist. Our project seeks to mark a milestone at a national level, uniting students with other students. Through our project we will seek to provide fully customized tutoring to elementary school children under the teaching of young university students trained in various subjects. Through this business model both parties win and gain new opportunities as life experiences. We want to position ourselves as a proposal for quality education and excellence. Our initiative will result in children with a better school performance, but also with young people who lead an initiative to build a country with a better level of education. This initiative seeks to achieve impressive results in the long term to continue with our proposal at a national level as well as in our next expansion. / Trabajo de investigación
