Metody potlaÄen umu pro rozpoznvaÄe eÄi / Methods of noise suppression for speech recognition systems

Moldkov, Zuzana January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with methods of noise suppression for speech recognition systems. In theoretical part are discussed basic terms of this topic and also methods for noise suppression. These are spectral subtraction, Wiener filtering, RASTA, mapping of spectrogram or algorithms based on noise estimation. In second part types of noise are analyzed, there is proposal and implementation of spectral subtraction method of noise suppression for speech recognition system. Also extensive testing of spectral subtractive algorithms in comparison with Wiener filter is conducted. Assessment of this testing is done with defined metrics, successfulness of recognition, recognition system score and signal to noise ratio.

Vlnková filtrace elektrokardiogramů / Wavelet Based Filtering of Electrocardiograms

Smital, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
This dissertation deals with possibilities of using wavelet transforms for elimination of broadband muscle noise in ECG signals. In this work, the characteristics of ECG signals and particularly the most frequently occurring type of interference are discussed firstly. The theory of wavelet transforms is also introduced and followed by design of the simple wavelet filter and the more sophisticated version with wiener filtering of wavelet coefficients. Next part is devoted to the design of our filter, which is based on wavelet wiener filtering and is complemented by algorithms that ensure full adaptability of its parameters when the properties of the input signal are changing. Suitable parameters of the proposed system are searched automatically and the algorithm is tested on the complete standard electrocardiograms database CSE, where it achieves significantly better results than other published methods.

Approximation Methods for Convolution Operators on the Real Line

Santos, Pedro 22 April 2005 (has links)
This work is concerned with the applicability of several approximation methods (finite section method, Galerkin and collocation methods with maximum defect splines for uniform and non uniform meshes) to operators belonging to the closed subalgebra generated by operators of multiplication bz piecewise continuous functions and convolution operators also with piecewise continuous generating function.

Gebäude als Ereignis - der Prozess als Designer

Lendzinski, Lukasz, Weigand, Peter 23 July 2021 (has links)

Distances in random trees

Lundblad, Jacob January 2023 (has links)
The Wiener index of a graph G is defined as the sum of the distances between all pairs of vertices in G. In this master thesis we introduce recursive trees, plane oriented recursive trees (PORTs) and simply generated trees. We then present results by Neininger, Janson, and Munsonius and Rüschendorf for the expectation and limiting distribution of the Wiener index of these families. For recursive trees and PORTs the results follow from analysing the recursive structure of the trees and the contraction method, while the results for simply generated trees is based on a limiting object, the continuum random tree.

Design and implementation of adaptive baseband predistorter for OFDM nonlinear transmitter. Simulation and measurement of OFDM transmitter in presence of RF high power amplifier nonlinear distortion and the development of adaptive digital predistorters based on Hammerstein approach.

Ghazaany, Tahereh S. January 2011 (has links)
The objective of this research work is to investigate, design and measurement of a digital predistortion linearizer that is able to compensate the dynamic nonlinear distortion of a High Power Amplifier (PA). The effectiveness of the proposed baseband predistorter (PD) on the performance of a WLAN OFDM transmitter utilizing a nonlinear PA with memory effect is observed and discussed. For this purpose, a 10W Class-A/B power amplifier with a gain of 22 dB, operated over the 3.5 GHz frequency band was designed and implemented. The proposed baseband PD is independent of the operating RF frequency and can be used in multiband applications. Its operation is based on the Hammerstein system, taking into account PA memory effect compensation, and demonstrates a noticeable improvement compared to memoryless predistorters. Different types of modelling procedures and linearizers were introduced and investigated, in which accurate behavioural models of Radio Frequency (RF) PAs exhibiting linear and nonlinear memory effects were presented and considered, based on the Wiener approach employing a linear parametric estimation technique. Three new linear methods of parameter estimation were investigated, with the aim of reducing the complexity of the required filtering process in linear memory compensation. Moreover, an improved wiener model is represented to include the nonlinear memory effect in the system. The validity of the PA modelling approaches and predistortion techniques for compensation of nonlinearities of a PA were verified by several tests and measurements. The approaches presented, based on the Wiener system, have the capacity to deal with the existing trade-off between accuracy and convergence speed compared to more computationally complex behavioural modelling algorithms considering memory effects, such as those based on Volterra series and Neural Networks. In addition, nonlinear and linear crosstalks introduced by the power amplifier nonlinear behaviour and antennas mutual coupling due to the compact size of a MIMO OFDM transmitter have been investigated.
