Utredning av potentiella hälsorisker i samband med slagg- och slaggvattenhantering vid Hedenverket, Karlstad / Study of Potential Health Risks in Connection with Handling of Bottom Ash and Bottom Ash Water at a Municipal Waste Incineration Plant

In this study potential health risks for employees in connection with handling of bottom ash and bottom ash water at a Municipal Waste Incineration (MWI) plant have been investigated. Air surrounding the bottom ash and the bottom ash water has been examined. MWI is one of the primary ways to manage solid household waste, and bottom ash is the main solid residue produced by the incineration process. Bottom ash constitutes about 15-20% of the original waste. The bottom ash is extinguished in a water bath (bottom ash water). The study was carried out in a MWI plant in Karlstad, Sweden. The plant is equipped with a grate furnace with a capacity of 7 tonnes per hour. Annually about 50 000 tonnes are incinerated at the plant. Levels of airborne particles, metals present in the airborne particles, volatile organic compounds (VOC), and phosphine were measured in the air. Analysis of the bottom ash water including: pH, total phosphorus, ammonium, chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, and bacteria were also carried out. Further, a questionnaire was distributed to investigate how the workers at the MWI plant re°ected on health when working. The results showed that the levels of airborne particles, metals and VOC did not pose any major health risks. The bacterial analysis demonstrated very low concentrations of bacteria in the water and thus that the bacteria posed no risk for the workers. The phosphine measurements did not result in levels exceeding the Swedish threshold limit value. However, the method used in this study was not well-tested in these sorts of environments and the results implied that higher levels of phosphine might be present. The conclusion from the questionnaire was that there is a concern about health risks in connection with certain tasks at the plant. / På Hedenverket, Karlstads Energi AB, förbränner man årligen cirka 50 000 ton hushålls- och verksamhetsavfall. En av restprodukterna av förbränningen kallas slagg (bottenaska) och utgör ca 15-20% av det inmatade avfallet. Slaggen släcks i ett vattenbad under själva pannan (slaggsläckningsbad) och matas sedan ut, via ett skakbord för reduktion av vatten, till containrar innan det slutligen körs på deponi. Syftet med det här projekt var att utreda om det föreligger några hälsorisker vid arbete kring slaggen och slaggsläckningsvattnet. För att skapa en bild av möjliga hälsorisker gjordes en inledande studie av tidigare utredningar, mätningar gjorda på avfallsförbränningsanläggningar runt om i Svergie och vad kemiska och biologiska hälsorisker innebär. Även lagstiftning på området har berörts. Med tidigare utredningar och mätningar samt diskussioner som grund utfördes mätningar av damm, metallhalter i damm, VOC och fosfin i luften samt en analys av slaggvattnet och bakterier i slaggvattnet. För att skapa en uppfattning av hur personalen, som arbetar med driften, upplever sin arbetssituation ur hälsorisksynpunkt genomfördes även en enkätundersökning. Resultaten av undersökningarna på Karlstads Energi AB visade att varken damm, metaller eller VOC utgör någon hälsorisk. Bakterieprovtagningen av slaggsläckningsvattnet visade på mycket låga halter av bakterier och bakterier kan därför inte sägas utgöra någon hälsorisk. Undersökningar av slaggvatten på andra anläggningar i Sverige visar däremot på höga metallhalter i slaggvattnet och det vore således inte särskilt hälsosamt att få i sig större mängder av detta. Resultaten av fosfinmätningen visar inte heller på några alarmerande nivåer, men metoden som användes är inte väl beprövad i den här typen av miljö. Resultaten kan tyda på att högre halter av fosfin förekommer, men hur höga de är inte möjligt att svara på. Fosfin är ett ämne som i små mängder kan ge upphov till bland annat illamående. I enkätundersökningen påtalades att obehag och illamående uppstºar vid längre arbeten över skakbordet och det är möjligt att fosfin kan vara en orsak till detta. Enkätundersökningen visade även att det finns en oro för hälsan vid vissa typer av arbeten på anläggningen och oro för att hälsan ska påverkas negativt på längre sikt.

"Flexibelt arbete är bra men…" : En kvalitativ studie om flexibelt arbete och gränsdragningsstrategier utifrån ett chefsperspektiv

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur chefer upplever flexibelt arbete samt hur de använder sig av gränsdragningsstrategier för att hantera balansen mellan arbete och privatliv. Studien har baserats på frågeställningar gällande hur chefer ser på det flexibla arbetet, hur krav/kontroll/stöd och balans påverkar chefers hälsa, hur förhållandet mellan arbete och privatliv ser ut samt vilka gränsdragningsstrategier som används. Studien visar på att cheferna har en positiv uppfattning om flexibelt arbete men att det finns svårigheter kring hur flexibiliteten ska hanteras. Vidare visar resultatet i studien att cheferna önskar en balans mellan arbete och privatliv, vilket de får genom en hårddragen gräns som vissa av cheferna dock saknar. Resultatet visar också på att cheferna är i behov av stöd från arbetsgivare, chef och omgivning och att de uppskattar ett stödjande och öppet klimat där de tillåts diskutera kring arbetssituation och hur de hanterar det flexibla arbetslivet. En kvalitativ metod valdes för studien som sedan genomfördes i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer tillsammans med sex chefer som valdes på grund av deras flexibla arbetsliv. Svaren från intervjuerna analyserades sedan gentemot relevanta teorier och tidigare studier inom ämnet. / The purpose of this study is to investigate how managers experience flexible work and how they use work balance strategies to be able to handle the balance between work and private life. The study is based on questions regarding how managers experience flexible work, how high demand-low control and balance affects managers health, how the relationship between work and private life looks like and what work balance strategies that are being used. The study shows that the managers have positive experiences with flexible work but that there are difficulties with how the flexibility should be handled. Furthermore, the results of the study show that the managers would like to have a certain balance between work and private time which they get with set limits. However, some managers lack these limits. The results also show that the managers require support from their managers, employers and work environment and that they appreciate a supporting and open work environment where they are allowed to discuss their work situation and how they handle flexible work. A qualitative method was chosen for the study which was done as a semistructured interviews with six managers who were chosen because of their flexible work. The answers from the interviews were analysed and compared with relevant theories and earlier studies in the subject.

Stress och överbelastning : Ett hot mot sjuksköterskor och omvårdnaden av patienter

Bakgrund: Stress är en del av sjuksköterskornas vardag. Lite stress gör gott, medans höga stressnivåer påverkar negativt. Arbetsbelastningen på sjuksköterskor kan vara överväldigande, stressande och påfrestande. Detta kan resultera i att patientsäkerheten påverkas negativt. Syfte: Att undersöka om sjuksköterskans upplevelse av stress och överbelastning i sjuksköterskeyrket påverkar omvårdnaden av patienten. Metod: Studien använde sig av en systematisk litteraturstudie med 12 originalartiklar. För att hitta relevanta artiklar till studien söktes artiklar i databaserna Pubmed och Cinahl. Resultat: Fyra kategorier av sjuksköterskans upplevelse av stress identifierades: patientsäkerhet, utmattning, arbetsmiljö och arbetsbelastning och arbetsskift. Det framgick att stressen påverkade omvårdnaden på ett negativt sätt. Stressen uppkom av olika anledningar, till exempel hög arbetsbelastning eller dålig arbetsmiljö. Detta berodde på för långa arbetspass och för många patienter per sjuksköterska. Många sjuksköterskor var missnöjda med situationen på sin arbetsplats och många hade funderat på att byta jobb. Stressen kunde även leda till att sjuksköterskorna blev utmattade och utbrända. Stressen hängde därför ihop med utmattning, men även med arbetsbelastning och arbetsmiljö. Slutsats: Det var för höga stressnivåer inom vården och därigenom påverkades omvårdnaden. Effekten av överbelastning på sjuksköterskor var en stor faktor till den stress som påverkade omvårdnaden. Vidare forskning skulle kunna användas för att optimera vården. / Background: Stress is a part of nurses' everyday lives. Low stress levels are good, while high stress levels affect people negatively. As the workload on nurses can be overwhelming, stressful and heavy, there might be a risk that the patients’ safety can be jeopardised. Aim: To examine if the nurses’ experience of stress and a heavy workload in the nursing profession affects the care of the patient. Method: The study used a systematic review with 12 original articles. To find relevant articles the authors searched in the databases of Pubmed and Cinahl. Result: Four categories of nurses’ experiences of stress were identified: patient safety, burn out, working environment and workload and shift work. The result showed that stress had a negative impact on nursing. The stress arose because of assorted reasons, such as a heavy workload or poor working environment. The reason to this was to long work shifts and to many patients per nurse. Many nurses were dissatisfied with their work situation and many of them had thought about changing their jobs. The stress could also lead to exhaustion and burnout among the nurses. Therefore, the stress related to exhaustion, but also with the heavy workload and work environment. Conclusion: There were too high stress levels in healthcare, which thereby affected the nursing. The effect of a heavy workload on nurses is a major factor in stress affecting the healthcare. Further research could be used to optimize the healthcare.

Motivation i en arbetsmiljö präglad av säkerhet : En kvalitativ studie om varför kriminalvårdare väljer att arbeta innanför murarna

Syftet med denna uppsats är att kartlägga motivationsfaktorer bland anställda inom Kriminalvårdens anstaltsverksamhet. För att undersöka detta utformades en huvudfrågeställning som besvarades med hjälp av tre delfrågor om vad som motiverar individer att ta anställning hos Kriminalvården, om denna motivation förändras över tid samt hur kriminalvårdarna reflekterar kring arbetsmiljön utifrån ett motivationsperspektiv. För att samla in det empiriska materialet genomfördes sex stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer med kriminalvårdare på anstalter med säkerhetsklass ett. Det resultatet genererade var att motivationen förändras över tid. Vid början av anställningen är det faktorer som inkomst och framtida karriärmöjligheter samt viljan att testa något nytt som motiverade. Efter en tid inom yrket hade motivationen skiftat till att klienterna och sina arbetslaget som utgör den främsta motivationsfaktorn, arbetsmiljön väger in på så vis att kriminalvårdarna behöver utföra sitt arbete på ett säkert sätt då detta skapar en god sammanhållning. I slutsatsen framkommer även att en motivation till att ta anställning som kriminalvårdare är att det kan vara en språngbräda för framtida yrken. Arbetsmotivation grundar sig i en avvägning och kombination av flera olika faktorer. / The purpose of this study is to identify the motivational factors among Prison Officers working in a high security prison. To investigate this purpose, a key issue was formulated and answered with the help of three sub-questions regarding why Prison Officers choose to take employment in the prison service, if their motivation changes over time and which views they have towards the working environment from a motivation perspective. In order to collect data, six semi-structured interviews were carried out with Prison Officers in a high security prison. The results of these interview showed that motivation among Prison Officers changes over time. Initially it was the need to have an income, the possibility of future career opportunities as well as wanting to test new career paths that drove their motivation. Later, motivation shifted to it being their colleagues and the clients who contribute to their work motivation. The work environment also has an impact on Prison Officers’ motivation as safety at work it is an important factor in creating good cohesion. The study also shows that one reason for becoming a Prison Officer can be that it provides a springboard for future work opportunities. Also, work motivation is based on a balance and a combination of several factors.

The diploma thesis deals with the employment of people from developing countries in the Czech Republic, with the focus on the workers from Latin America. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the current situation of the employment of Latino American workers in the Czech Republic and to suggest possible ways of improvement. The possible suggestions to improve the situation are general recommendations for the employers with the intention to raise their awareness about the employment of workers coming from different cultural environments. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part represents the literature review. The practical part is based on the qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with twelve Latino American respondents that have working experience in the Czech companies.

Satisfação no trabalho de profissionais bancários em agências de uma instituição financeira de economia mista / Job satisfaction of banking professionals in branches of a financial institution of mixed economy

Nas instituições financeiras, a atividade bancária sofreu grandes transformações no trabalho e reestruturação das suas atividades decorrentes da incorporação de inovações tecnológicas e organizacionais. Houve mudanças no ambiente e no ritmo de trabalho voltadas à maximização dos recursos disponíveis e ao aumento da produtividade, o que leva às organizações a se preocuparem com condições de trabalho oferecidas, identificando fatores que geram satisfação no trabalhador. Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo identificar o nível de satisfação no trabalho de profissionais de agências bancárias de um banco de economia mista e sua relação com fatores do perfil socioprofissional. Trata-se de estudo exploratório, transversal de abordagem quantitativa dos dados. O universo desta pesquisa correspondeu a 388 trabalhadores de 38 agências de um banco de economia mista localizado em uma cidade no interior do estado de São Paulo. Fizeram parte da amostra àqueles que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão da pesquisa, sendo 208 participantes. Para a coleta de dados utilizou-se um questionário com dados demográficos e socioprofissionais, seguido pela aplicação da Escala de Satisfação no Trabalho composta por 25 itens distribuídos em cinco dimensões: satisfação com os colegas, salário, chefia, natureza do trabalho e promoções. Os resultados mostraram escores médios de satisfação geral de 4,09, o que representa indiferença do bancário em relação à satisfação no trabalho. Porém, quando separadas cada dimensão de satisfação, observou-se satisfação somente para a dimensão \"satisfação com os colegas\". Houve insatisfação dos participantes nas dimensões \"satisfação com as promoções\" e \"satisfação com o salário\". Ao analisar a relação entre as dimensões de satisfação e o perfil socioprofissional, identificou-se que em relação às promoções, há insatisfação independente do cargo exercido, da carga horária de trabalho e do tempo no cargo atual. Já em relação ao salário, os trabalhadores apresentaram-se insatisfeitos, independente do cargo exercido, da carga horária de trabalho e do tempo na instituição. Esses resultados alertam para as condições de remuneração e ascensão profissional, apontando a necessidade de melhoria nesses processos, na busca de melhores incentivos financeiros e valorização desses profissionais. A percepção do trabalhador com aspectos ligados às promoções e remuneração demandadas pela instituição não apresentam relação com o cargo e a carga horária do trabalhador, o que sinaliza a necessidade da empresa elaborar planos de metas que incentive e beneficie seus trabalhadores. Ainda, os resultados desse estudo devem contribuir na reflexão de gestores e futuros trabalhadores bancários sobre os fatores ocupacionais que podem levar a sua satisfação no trabalho e o quanto o investimento nesta área pode representar um indicador não financeiro fundamental na sustentabilidade da organização em longo prazo e no relacionamento com os clientes / In financial institutions, banking has undergone major transformations in work and restructuring of its activities resulting from the incorporation of technological and organizational innovations. There were changes in the environment and the pace of work for the maximization of available resources and to increased productivity which leads organizations to be concerned with working conditions offered, identifying factors that generate satisfaction worker. This research aims to identify the level of job satisfaction of professionals of bank branches of a joint stock bank and its relationship with the socio-professional profile factors. It is an exploratory study, cross-sectional approach with quantitative data. The universe of this research amounted to 388 workers from 38 agencies of a state-controlled bank located in a city in the state of São Paulo. The sample included those who met the research inclusion criteria, with 208 participants. For data collection was used a questionnaire with demographic and socio-economic data, followed by the application of Satisfaction Scale at Work, which contains 25 items distributed in five dimensions: satisfaction with colleagues, salary, leadership, nature of work and promotions. The results showed mean scores of overall satisfaction of 4.09, which represents bank\'s indifference to job satisfaction. However, when separated from each dimension of satisfaction, there was satisfaction only to the extent \"satisfaction with colleagues.\" There was dissatisfaction of participants in dimensions \"satisfaction with promotions\" and \"satisfaction with salary.\" By analyzing the relationship between the dimensions of satisfaction and socio-professional profile, it was identified that in relation to promotions, there is independent of the position held dissatisfaction, the workload and time in current position. In relation to wages, workers showed up dissatisfied, regardless of the position held, the workload and time in the institution. These results highlight the conditions of remuneration and career advancement, pointing out the need for improvement in these processes, in search of better financial incentives and recognition of these professionals. The perception of the worker with aspects related to promotions and compensation demanded by the institution no relation to the position and the workload of the worker, which signals the company\'s need to develop plans targets to encourage and benefit their workers. Still, the results of this study should contribute to the reflection of managers and future bank employees on occupational factors that may lead to their job satisfaction and how much investment in this area may represent a non-financial indicator fundamental sustainability of long-term organization and in the relationship with customers

Desse modo, o objeto desta investigação trata-se do trabalho e a relação com a saúde para os assistentes em administração da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Os objetivos são: analisar o sentido da relação trabalho e saúde para os técnicos administrativos em educação, com cargo de assistentes em administração da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora; descrever o processo histórico de implantação da área de saúde e segurança do trabalho no âmbito da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora; caracterizar os grupos de pertença, rede e apoio social dos técnicos administrativos em educação a partir do “I Inquérito sobre condições de trabalho e de vida dos trabalhadores da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora”; identificar os elementos que interferem no sentido da relação trabalho e saúde para os assistentes em administração da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora e caracterizar os processos e organização do trabalho com foco na relação trabalho e saúde para os assistentes em administração da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. A investigação está ancorada na abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Na primeira, participaram 833 técnicos administrativos em educação. Na segunda, 53 assistentes em administração. A técnica de coleta de informações foi o grupo focal, sendo submetidas ao processo de análise de conteúdo temático. Como resultados chama atenção porcentagem alta de trabalho passivo (37%) entre os técnicos administrativos em educação (TAE’s) e foi identificado a importância do apoio social como estratégia política de proteção à saúde do trabalhador, 56,7% dos técnicos apresentam alto apoio social no trabalho. O nível de classificação dos TAE’s apresentou forte associação com as três dimensões de apoio, principalmente com relação à de apoio emocional/informação e à de apoio material. Entre as categorias emergentes que se destacam estão: a importância das relações interpessoais, da transparência e participação na gestão e do reconhecimento através da valorização dos esforços dos trabalhadores para resolução dos problemas. O engajamento no trabalho foi outra característica marcante e distancia-se da visão difundida socialmente do servidor público. A limitação do poder de ação no desenvolvimento das atividades e a falta de comunicação entre os setores prejudicam os processos de trabalho, já que não se conclui o serviço da maneira desejada. O aspecto organizacional também foi um tema importante relacionado ao processo de construção de ambientes saudáveis. As condições que vulnerabilizam a motivação do servidor e respectiva ação referem-se à inadequação do ambiente físico, dificuldade do trabalho em equipe e falta de cultura de meritocracia. Tais elementos devem tornar-se foco no processo de vigilância da relação trabalho e saúde, como estratégicos na organização social dos ambientes de trabalho. A criação de espaços coletivos de participação nos setores de trabalho fortalece o protagonismo dos servidores e pode potencializar mudanças organizacionais que impactam na ampliação da saúde institucional e na qualidade dos serviços prestados. Os princípios identificados, embora relacionados a um contexto singular, geram ideias a respeito do desenho da intervenção e podem assumir caráter abrangente para outros ambientes e suas respectivas instituições. / The worker in the public sector is considered privileged because of employment stable, however, their working conditions are often situations that cause suffering and illness. This way, the object of this research is the work and the relationship with the health to the assistants in administration of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. The objectives are: to analyze the meaning of the relation work and health for the administrative technicians in education, with position of assistants in administration of the UFJF; describe the historical process of implementation of the area of health and safety at the UFJF; characterize the groups of belonging, network and social support of the administrative technicians in education from the “I Inquiry on conditions working and living of UFJF workers”; identify the elements that interfere in the sense of the relation work and health for the assistants in administration of the UFJF and characterize the processes and organization of the work with focus on the relation work and health for the assistants in administration of the UFJF. The research is anchored in the qualitative approach and is attended by 53 administrative assistants. The technique of information collection was of focus group, being submitted to the analysis process of thematic content. The results highlight the importance of interpersonal relationships, transparency and participation in management and recognition through the valorization of the efforts of workers to solve problems. The engagement at work was another featured caracterisct and distanced of difunded view socially of the public servant. The limitation of the power of action, the development of activities and the lack of communication between sectors hinder the work processes, since as the service is not completed in the desired manner. The organizational aspect was also an important theme related to the process of building healthy environments. The conditions that undermine the motivation of the server and action referent to the inadequacy of the physical environment, difficulty in team work and lack of culture of meritocracy. Such elements should become focus in the process of vigilance of the relationship work and health, as strategic in the social organization of work environments. The creation of collective spaces of participation in the work sectors strengthens the protagonism of the servers and can potentiate organizational changes that impact on the expansion of institutional health and in the quality of services provided. The principles identified, although related to a singular context, generate ideas about the design of the intervention and can assume a broad character for another environment and their respective institutions.

Abstract   Hansson, A. (2017). The experience of demands, control and social support among a group of health care providers in Central Sweden - a cross sectional study. Background: In Sweden, employees who work within health and social care is the largest occupational group and is also the group which accounts for the highest number of illness cases. Work in health care often means a variety of psychosocial workloads such as high demands, low control and lack of social support. Aim: The aim of the study was to examine the experiences and/or presence of demands, control and social support among nurses and home care workers in their daily work in health care in a municipality in central Sweden. Method: The study included 44 participants, 12 nurses and 32 home care workers. In a quantitative cross-sectional study, data was collected by use of a questionnaire designed by the author for the aim of the study. Participants reported their age, gender, working years and working hours, and answered questions about the experience and/or presence of demands, control and social support in their daily work. Results: The majority of the respondents experienced social support at their workplace. However, respondents 44 years or younger, did rarely/did not experience high work demands from managers or colleagues. Employees who worked more irregular hours experienced more often that they achieved expectations of what should be done from the care takers and their relatives. Respondents who had worked as caregivers 10 years or more, felt that their working hours were governed by the needs of care taker. Conclusion: The results show that an inadequate psychosocial work environment, with high demands, low control and lack of social support, was not experienced and/or a present problem among the majority of the respondents. Further research and knowledge is needed on how the perception of demands, control and social support at work has an impact on the self-perceived health of municipal employees within the health care sector since the work leave due to illness in this sector in Sweden continues to rise. Våld mot vårdpersonal är ett aktuellt ämne och ett växande problem världen över. Till akutmottagningen kommer akut svårt sjuka vårdsökande för undersökning och behandling. Sjuksköterskor som arbetar på en akutmottagning jobbar i en utsatt position där våld ofta förekommer och det finns en mängd olika faktorer som bidrar till att våld uppstår. Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att studera sjuksköterskors upplevelse av våld på en akutmottagning. En litteraturöversikt av analys av tio vetenskapliga artiklar som var utförda med kvalitativ metod. Artiklarna är publicerade mellan åren 2008-2017 och har bearbetats för att få en inblick i hur sjuksköterskor upplever våld på akutmottagningarna. I detta examensarbete söktes det efter artiklar på ett metodiskt vis i databaserna Cinahl och Medline. Dataanalysen mynnade ut i fyra huvudteman: “Rädsla och oro”, “Maktlöshet och frustration”, “En del av jobbet” och “ Försämrade (vård)relationer” som presenteras i resultatet. Litteraturöversikten visar slutligen att sjuksköterskor upplever en påverkan på både inställning till arbetet men även på sociala relationer samt en försämrad kvalitet på omvårdnadsarbetet. / Violence against healthcare workers is a current issue and a growing problem all over the world. Patients with acute and severe illness goes to the emergency department, ED, to seek treatment. Nurses working in the ED are in a vulnerable position where violence has a high prevalence and is often present at the ED. There are a variety of factors that contributes to the emergence of violence. Thus the aim of this literature review was to explore the nurse's perception of violence in the ED. A literature review of analysis of ten scientific articles carried out with qualitative method. The articles are published between 2008-2017 and have been processed to gain an insight into how nurses experience violence at ED. Furthermore the search for articles in this literature review was conducted in a methodical way and extracted from the two databases Cinahl and Medline. The data analysis resulted in four main themes: "Fear and worriness", "Powerlessness and frustration", "A part of the job" and "A deterioration in relations" presented in the result. This literature review shows that nurses experience a variety of things and feelings when they are exposed to violence and these experiences leads to an impact on both the personal attitude towards the work, but also has an effect on the social relationships and the quality of the patient related work.

Sjukskrivningar hos sjuksköterskor är ett utbrett problem, både i Sverige och globalt. Orsaker i arbetsmiljön gör att sjuksköterskor löper risk för sjukskrivning. Syftet med studien var att beskriva orsaker till arbetsmiljörelaterade sjukskrivningar hos sjuksköterskor. En allmän litteraturstudie användes som metod för studien. Studien baserades på nio kvantitativa samt två kvalitativa artiklar. Resultatet visade att orsaker till sjukskrivning hade sitt ursprung i tre områden, som bildade tre kategorier. Sjukvårdsorganisatoriska brister och problem, En psykosocial arbetsmiljö präglad av höga krav och otillfredsställande relationer samt Ogynnsamma förutsättningar i den fysiska arbetsmiljön. Genom att erhålla förståelse och kunskap till vad som bidrar till arbetsrelaterade sjukskrivningar skulle åtgärder kunna vidtas för att främja en god arbetsmiljö både för hälso-och sjukvårdspersonal men även utifrån ett omvårdnadsperspektiv. En djupare förståelse av problematiken ökar möjligheten för sjuksköterskor att ställa krav på organisationen i syfte att ge en patientsäker vård. / Sickness absence in nurses is a widespread problem, both in Sweden and globally. Causes in the working environment make nurses at risk of sick leave. The purpose of the study was to describe the causes of occupational health-related sick leave in nurses. A general literature study was used as a method. The study was based on nine quantitative and two qualitative articles. The results show that several causes of sick leave originated in three areas, which formed three categories. Healthcare organizational shortcomings and problems, A psychosocial work environment characterized by high demands and unsatisfactory relationships, as well as Unfavorable conditions in the physical working environment. By gaining understanding and knowledge of what contributes to work-related sick leave, measures could be taken to promote a good working environment for healthcare professionals, but also from a nursing perspective. A deeper understanding of the problem increases the possibility for nurses to claim the organization in order to provide patient-safe care.
