Vyresnių klasių mokinių, turinčių specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių, streso įveikos ypatumai / Stress Coping Characteristics of High School Students With Special Educational Needs

Magistro darbe buvo atlikta teorinė mokslinės literatūros analizė apie stresą, jo įveikos būdus, mokyklinį stresą ir jo įveikimą, mokinių paauglystės psichologinius ypatumus. Taip pat nagrinėti autorių darbai apie mokyklinio streso įveikos stilius ir naudojamas strategijas. Iškelta hipotezė, kad vyresnių klasių mokinių naudojami streso įveikos stiliai skiriasi, lyginant specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių turinčius mokinius ir jų bendraamžius. Anketinės apklausos metodu buvo atliktas tyrimas, kurio tikslas – ištirti vyresnių klasių mokinių, turinčių specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių, streso įveikos ypatumus. Atlikta statistinė (aprašomoji vidurkių, koreliacijų) duomenų analizė. Tyrime dalyvavo 216 bendrojo lavinimo mokyklų vyresnių klasių mokinių, iš kurių 114 – mokiniai, turintys specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių, 102 – jų bendraamžiai. Empirinėje dalyje nagrinėjami vyresnių klasių specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių turinčių mokinių ir jų bendraamžių naudojami streso įveikos stiliai; patikimo mokytis mokykloje, mokymosi rezultatų ir mokyklinio streso įveikos stilių ryšiai; vyresnių klasių mokinių mokyklinio streso įveikos ypatumai. Svarbiausios empirinio tyrimo išvados: 1. Mokiniai, neturintys specialiųjų ugdymo(-si) poreikių, dažniau renkasi adaptyvaus vengimo mokyklinio streso įveikos stilių. 2. Also it was analyzed styles and strategies of school stress coping. Hypothesis, that high school students’ used styles of stress coping are different compared to the students with special educational needs and their peers. The study was conducted the questionnaire method. Research destination – investigate stress coping characteristics of high school students with special educational needs. It was conducted the statistical (descriptive averages, correlations) data analysis. The study included 216 general education high school students, of which 114 - students with special education needs, 102 - their peers. The empirical part deals with high school special education (learning) needs of students and their peers used stress coping styles; connections between styles of school stress coping, pleasant to learn at school and learning outcomes; characteristics of high school students’ stress coping. Magistro darbe yra atlikta teorinė komandos ir komandinio darbo sampratos analizė, atskleistas komandinio darbo teisinis reglamentavimas, komandinio darbo organizavimo ypatumai, komandos ir komandinio darbo svarba tenkinant specialiuosius ugdymo(si) poreikius. Iškelta hipotezė, jog tikėtina, kad, tenkinant specialiuosius ugdymo(si) poreikius, formaliai reglamentuojamas darbas komandoje, tačiau realiai ugdymo proceso dalyviai dirba, orientuodamiesi į individualias veiklas. Tyrimo tikslas – įvertinti komandinio darbo organizavimo ypatumus bendrojo lavinimo mokykloje, tenkinant mokinių (vaikų) specialiuosius ugdymo(si) poreikius. Tyrimo objektas – komandinis darbas ugdant specialiųjų poreikių vaikus bendrojo lavinimo mokykloje. Siekiant patikrinti iškeltą hipotezę, buvo atliekamas kiekybinis tyrimas anketinės apklausos metodu. Tyrimo imtis – 182 respondentai, iš jų 117 pedagogų ir 65 tėvai, auginantys vaiką, turintį specialiųjų ugdymo(si) poreikių. Kiekybinis tyrimas buvo atliekamas rytų Lietuvos bendrojo lavinimo mokyklose 2009/2010 m.m. Gautiems tyrimo duomenims apdoroti buvo taikoma statistinė tyrimo duomenų analizė (deskriptyvinės ir daugiamatės statistikos metodai). Empirinėje magistro darbo dalyje nagrinėjami komandinio darbo ypatumai specialiųjų ugdymo(si) poreikių tenkinimo kontekste. The hypothesis of the work is that it is probable that in meeting special educational needs, the work in a team is regulate nominally, but the parties of the education process work orients to individually activities realistically. The aim of the research is to evaluate the peculiarities of teamwork organization meeting special educational needs of the schoolchildren in comprehensive school. The object of the research is the teamwork in educating the children who have special needs in comprehensive school. In order to verify the hypothesis of the research, the quantitative analysis using the questionnaire method was carried out. The amount of research is 182 respondents – 117 pedagogues and 65 parents who grow a child having special educational needs. The statistical data analysis (the methods of descriptive and multivariate statistics) was used to generalize the data of the research. The peculiarities of teamwork in the context meeting special educational needs are analyzed in the empirical part of the paper. STUDIES ON SILICON NMR CHARACTERIZATION AND KINETIC MODELING OF THE STRUCTURAL EVOLUTION OF SILOXANE-BASED MATERIALS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN DRUG DELIVERY AND ADSORPTION

This dissertation presents studies of the synthetic processes and applications of siloxane-based materials. Kinetic investigations of bridged organoalkoxysilanes that are precursors to organic-inorganic hybrid polysilsesquioxanes are a primary focus. Quick gelation despite extensive cyclization is found during the polymerization of bridged silane precursors except for silanes with certain short bridges. This work is an attempt to characterize and understand some of the distinct features of bridged silanes using experimental characterization, kinetic modeling and simulation. In addition to this, the dissertation shows how the properties of siloxane- materials can be engineered for drug delivery and adsorption. The phase behavior of polymerizing mixtures is first investigated to identify the solutions that favor kinetic characterization. Microphase separation is found to cause gradual loss of NMR signal for certain initial compositions. Distortionless Enhancement by Polarization Transfer 29Si NMR is employed to identify the products of polymerization of some short-bridged silanes under no signal loss conditions. This technique requires knowing indirect 29Si-1H scalar coupling constants which sometimes cannot be measured due to second-order effects. However, the B3LYP density functional method with 6-31G basis set is found to predict accurate 29Si-1H coupling constants of organoalkoxysilanes and siloxanes. The scalar coupling constants thus estimated are employed to resolve non-trivial coupled NMR spectra and quantitative kinetic modeling is performed using the DEPT Si NMR transients. In order to investigate the role of the organic bridging group, the structural evolution of bridged and non-bridged silanes are compared using Monte Carlo simulations. Kinetic and simulation models suggest that cyclization plays a key role right from the onset of polymerization for bridged silanes even more than in non-bridged silanes. The simulations indicate that the carbosiloxane rings formed from short-bridged precursors slow down but do not prevent gelation. The tuning of siloxane-based materials for adsorption technologies are also discussed here. In the first example, antioxidant enzyme loading is investigated as a means to reduce oxidative stress generated by silica nanoparticle drug carriers. Materials are engineered for promising enzyme loading and protection from proteolysis. Second, the potential of copper sulfate impregnation to enhance adsorption of ammonia by silica is explored by molecular simulation.

Etude par dynamique moléculaire de l'alliage eutectique Au-Si en volume et en interaction avec un substrat de silicium

Ce travail a pour but l'étude des propriétés structurales, dynamiques et thermodynamiques de l'alliage Au-Si dans l'état liquide et surfondu. Nous avons utilisé des simulations de dynamique moléculaire pour déterminer ces propriétés. Les interactions interatomiques nécessaires à ces simulations ont été construites dans un modèle de type MEAM. Dans une première partie de ce travail, nous avons montré que pour la composition eutectique, la structure locale de l'alliage liquide est caractérisée par une forte affinité entre l'or et le silicium, conduisant à un ordre chimique local très important qui ralentit la formation des motifs icosaédriques, caractéristique de l'ordre structural des systèmes métalliques surfondus. Nous avons également montré que cet ordre local influence fortement les propriétés thermodynamiques et dynamiques de cet alliage liquide. Une étude plus générale autour de la composition eutectique confirme les propriétés particulières du liquide à la composition eutectique. Dans une seconde partie, nous avons étudié les propriétés de l'alliage eutectique Au-Si en interaction avec des substrats de silicium. Nous avons mis en évidence une forte structuration du liquide à l'interface, le liquide ayant la propriété de reproduire sur une couche atomique la topologie de la surface du substrat en modifiant parfois sa composition chimique. Ce comportement très particulier est relié aux propriétés de surfusion observées expérimentalement dans ces systèmes.

La femme africaine dans Une si longue lettre de Mariama Bâ et Assèze l'africaine de Calixthe Beyala

This study is based on the main female African characters in Une si longue lettre written in 1979 by Mariama Bâ and Assèze l’Africaine written in 1994 by Calixthe Beyala. Both novels describe the African society and the obstacles that exist for women in this society where men dominate. This study presents the transformation of Ramatoulaye that is a traditional and passive woman but she becomes modern. In addition, it presents the transformation of young Aïssatou that becomes an independent and strong woman, in these two novels. These two women are facing similar forms of discriminations and oppression in the African society and they are struggling against injustice in various ways. The aim of this analysis is to investigate how the image of the African women and the feminism in Africa show and develop through the main characters, Ramatoulaye and Aïssatou. The conclusion reveal that the image of the African women has considerably changed over the years in a positive way and that Femininity is a cultural construction and not a natural construction. The conclusion further reveal that even today a woman is not independent, but is still considered "the Other" in relation to the man.

Genetic Aspects of Endocrine Tumorigenesis : A Hunt for the Endocrine Neoplasia Gene

Endocrine tumors arise from endocrine glands. Most endocrine tumors are benign but malignant variants exist. Several endocrine neoplasms display loss of parts of chromosome 11 or 18, produce hormones and responds poorly to conventional chemotherapeutics. The multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes are mainly confined to endocrine tumors. This opens the question if there exists a single or several endocrine tumor genes. The aim of the study was to describe genetic derangements in endocrine tumors. Paper I: Investigation of mutational status of SDHAF2 in parathyroid tumors. SDHAF2 is located in the proximity of 11q13, a region that frequently displays loss in parathyroid tumors. We established that mutations in SDHAF2 are infrequent in parathyroid tumors. Paper II: Study of SDHAF2 gene expression in a cohort of benign pheochromocytomas (PCC) (n=40) and malignant PCC (n=10). We discovered a subset of  benign PCC (28/40) and all malignant PCC (10/10) with significantly lower SDHAF2 expression. Benign PCC with low SDHAF2 expression and malignant tumors consistently expressing low levels of SDHAF2 were methylated in the promoter region. SDHAF2 expression was restored in vitro after treatment with 5- aza-2-deoxycytidine. Paper III: HumanMethylation27 array (Illumina) covering 27578 CpG sites spanning over 14495 genes were analyzed in a discovery cohort of 10 primary small neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) with matched metastases. 2697 genes showed different methylation pattern between the primary tumor and its metastasis. We identified several hypermethylated genes in key regions. Unsupervised clustering of the tumors identified three distinct clusters, one with a highly malignant behavior. Paper IV: Loss of chromosome 18 is the most frequent genetic aberration in SI-NETs. DNA from SI-NETs were subjected to whole exome capture sequencing and high resolution SNP array. Genomic profiling revealed loss of chromosome 18 in 5 out of 7 SI-NETs. No tumor-specific somatic mutation on chromosome 18 was identified which suggests involvement of other mechanisms than point mutations in SI-NET tumorigenesis. Paper V: The cost for diagnostic genetic screening of common susceptibility genes in PCC is expensive and labor intensive. Three PCC from three patients with no known family history were chosen for exome capture sequencing. We identified three variants in known candidate genes. We suggest that exome-capture sequencing is a quick and cost-effective tool.
