Previous issue date: 2014-02-28 / The present study has the objective to understand the experiences in Cunha agroecological
settlement as a result of the peasant struggle with agribusiness in order to stay on land. To
achieve it we use the bibliographical and documentary research, and fieldwork with
conducting semi-structured and structured interviews, besides the direct observation in the
field notes, and photographic records. In this sense, the research was based on a wide
understanding, who believes in the existence of disparate projects for the field. Meanwhile,
the conquest of the Cunha farm, appropriate / dominated by agribusiness was essential to give
other uses through Agroecology. However, the territorial settlement involved production
disputes MST with its constituent base, which was co-opted by the state, supported by
CONTAG. This process resulted in the provision of unfavorable Agroecology limits, with the
difficult to control of inputs and direct marketing channel, reality aggravated by the action of
Agribusiness on the settlement, both directly with borderline monoculture in the municipality
of Cristalina, such as indirect with the determination of the direction of agricultural policy.
Associated to the pressure of the financial/property capital of the national metropolis, Brasilia.
The analysis of the actors of agroecological production, the collective experience of the
"Eldorado dos Carajás" is the result of a policy network in defense of Agroecology. The
experience of Integrated Sustainable Agroecology Production (PAIS) is a result of the
institutional proposed peasant permanence on land, these add up traditional knowledge and
territoriality of settled peasant families that promotes peasant agriculture with the principles
of agroecology. The network inside the settlement, changing the seeds, knowledge, and
others, the networks of the peasant settlement with external actors, as Brazilian Agricultural
Research Agency (EMBRAPA) allowed the relative autonomy of inputs, but the farms remain
submitted to the user and commercial capital. However, the adoption of agroecology allowed
the revision of the society / nature, the strengthening of the struggle for the sovereignty food
and the territorial agrobiodiversity. / O presente estudo objetivou compreender as experiências agroecológicas no assentamento
No entanto, a produção territorial do assentamento envolveu disputas do
A experiência
comercial.
agrobiodiversidade.

AnÃlise de sustentabilidade econÃmica, social e ambiental do cultivo orgÃnico de hortaliÃas: o caso dos produtores da associaÃÃo para o desenvolvimento da agropecuÃria orgÃnica -ADAO / Analysis of the sustentabilidade economic, social and ambient of the organic culture of hortaliÃas: the case of the producers of the Association for the Farming Development of Organic - AFDOJoÃo Benigno de Mesquita Filho 06 September 2006 (has links)
The little that still remains of the biome of the Atlantic forest, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, is represented in the form of fragments, which is the case of the county of ViÃosa, a region considered to be of extreme ecological importance and that has been intensely degraded over the last years, due to anthropic activity. This fragmented scenery is due mainly to the actions of coffee planters that destroy its permanent preservation areas (PPAs) and legal reserves (LRs). Considering only the county of ViÃosa 4000 hectares has been planted with coffee, causing in this way, a drastic reduction of the native forest of the region, as well as a significant reduction of what economists call ecosystem goods and services - EGS. Thus, the coffee planters in the PRO-CAFà (organization of local coffee planters) were selected as target public, this choice being credited to the fact that this group characterizes the coffee planters of the mountainous region. In this respect this investigation had as a purpose to determine the main variables that affect the coffee planters environmental perception, and monetarily valorization of the forests, since this might be the a single strategy for environmental preservation. For this a formulary was developed with 33 questions involving information on socio economical characteristics, the use of the methodology of contingent valorization (MCV), and the vehicle of payment of the âoffer gameâ that reveled the willingness to accept a compensation (WAC) in exchange of a hectare of coffee for a hectare of forest. The results show that the coffee planters have a good understanding of the importance of the fragments, being important to stress that the interviewees linked the existence of the PPAs and LRs as the direct responsible for the provisions of the EGSs. However, it was found that even though aware of this importance a conservationist attitude was not perceived, associated to this the absence of a clear environmental education, as well as impunity. The DAC estimate shows that in the case that the government is willing to increase the provision of forest to 70 hectares, they should pay out 254,200 reais (around 116,000 dollars), dealing only with the coffee planters linked to the PRO-CAFà organization and 1,147,000 reais per year if the government should be willing to work with the entire coffee planters population in the county of ViÃosa, which represents 314 hectares of forests.

Agroecological transition: a strategy for coping with the reality of Cearà semiarid / TransiÃÃo agroecolÃgica: uma estratÃgia para a convivÃncia com a realidade semiÃrida do CearÃLuciana Rodrigues Ramos Duarte 10 July 2009 (has links)
This work has as objective investigates and to

The principal found fetter were: inadequacy of information and incentives for other farmers to stick to the transition, the access to the credit to finance and to finance the production, water in amount and quality for the production, the environmental problems in the community, to disorganize social of the family farmers, the access the technical attendance and the
commercialization that it benefits the merchants. It
is waited with this work to contribute with the production of knowledge; for the use of methodologies of character participation; in the listens of the interests and it changes of you know between the academy and rural
communities; what implicates in to rethink paradigms of the rural and technological development and to act in new philosophical bases.

Peasant agriculture, PRONAF and in the municipality of agroecological initiatives Crato - CE / Agricultura camponesa, PRONAF e iniciativas agoecolÃgicas no municÃpio Crato - CECÃcero Erivaldo de Lima 31 August 2011 (has links)
The study of peasant agriculture and the changes occurring within the production in the
Brazilian countryside and agricultural space are axes of social concern, political and
academic. The recognition of peasant agriculture as productive activity took place through the
action of social movements from the 1990s. It was also during this period ensured that the
state of public resources through the creation of
PRONAF(Programa Nacional de Apoio e Fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar) for funding of peasant farmers. The theme of peasant agriculture today is in focus, considering its importance in food safety policy, given their representation in the internal market for food and raw materials, as well
as offering contributions to sustainability and ecology, an innovative practice that is rational use of land
and equity of social inclusion, as one of it
s features is the participation in social
production. This research aims to reflect peasant agriculture in its role to provide different forms of coexistence and permanence in the field. For this, it aims to analyze the challenges of access
inly on the settlement on 10 de Abril
in the municipality of Crato-CearÃ
State, from the years 1990 to investiga
te experiences of Agroecology innovations and
alternative techniques for gathering and rational use of land, viewing the work of institutions that work with
the peasants. For this study, we as a methodological basis of Marx's social theory seeking to understand the interpretations of authors who discuss ideas regarding vision of the peasantry and its continued existence and the capitalist mode of production.
Finally, the analysis concludes that the peasants` demands were not met. An agrarian policy with access to
water resources should be classified as state public politic and PRONAF requiring adjustments to
enable the improvement of the peasants with the increase of Agroecology initiatives that need wider dissemination and management support.

Diversidade de fungos micorrÃzicos arbusculares em solo de agroecossistemas do semiÃrido cearense / Diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the soil of agroecosystems in semi-arid CearÃFabio Perlatti 28 June 2010 (has links)
Neste trabalho avaliaram-se as influÃncias de parÃmetros quÃmicos do
solo, perÃodos do ano e quatro diferentes agroecossistemas com fruteiras tropicais (cajueiros -
Anacardium occidentale (2 pomares), coqueiros - Cocos nucifera, e gravioleiras - Annona
aumento significativo no perÃodo seco.
A abundÃncia
A maior
agroecosystems, as being responsible for a symbiosis that occurs in more than 80% of
terrestrial vascular plants. Work in mutualism with plants, helping them with less mobile
nutrient uptake, increase the absorption of water, protect them against diseases and are
strongly influenced by agricultural practices and environmental changes. This study evaluated
the influence of chemical parameters of soil, climate variation in two seasons and four
different agroecosystems of tropical fruit trees (cashew- Anacardium occidentale, coconut -
Cocos nucifera and soursop - Annona muricata), with the diversity of AMF compared with an
area of native forest adjacent to plantations, considering the hypothesis that these factors
change the community composition of these fungi. Samples were collected at depth of 0-20
cm in the rainy (April/2009) and dry season (October/2009) and used ecological indexes as a
way of evaluating changes in the systems and periods. In total were identified 35 different
morphotypes of spores and chemical parameters of the soil indicated that pH was negatively
correlated with the average density of spores, Mg with the species richness and Zn with both.
The average density of spores was negatively influenced by agroecosystems, because the
highest values were found in the forested area in both periods, and except for the coconut
(Cocos nucifera L.) crop, all the others had a significant increase in between the periods.
Species richness was found to be stable, with only the soursop culture (Annona Muricata)
different compared to other systems in the rainy season. During the dry season no differences
being detected in richness. The relative abundance indicates greater dominance in the
communities during the rainy season and relative frequency shows the prevalence of species
of the genus Glomus on all systems. The highest diversity, as measured by the Shannon-
Wiener index, indicated that the soil under coconut had the highest values in both periods.
There was a general increase in diversity comparing the rainy with the dry season. The
dominance assessed by the Simpson index corroborates the results obtained by relative
abundance, demonstrating that in the rainy season the concentration of dominance was higher
in all systems. The similarity analysis using the Bray-Curtis index shows that the dry season
has made the systems more similar, since they showed higher values in this period. Cluster
analysis based on similarity index shows that despite the richness of abundance variations, the
systems were also grouped in both periods. The soursop formed an isolated group, the area of
forest was more similar to the old cashew culture. The other cluster was formed by the
coconut culture and the new cashew plantation. Results of the study allowed concluding:
agricultural activities have changed the community composition of AMF in relation to the
native forest; the coconut agroecosystem had the highest biodiversity of AMF among all the
systems evaluated; the species of the genus Glomus were the most abundant in
agroecosystems and natural ecosystem; there were differences in community composition and
diversity of fungi in between the rainy and dry season; and the diversity of AMF spores in soil
did not correlate with the tropical fruit treeâs infective capacity.

Uma ilha na monocultura: a reinvenção do campesinato pela Agroecologia / An island in monoculture: the reinvention of the peasant by the agroecologyThais Maria Souto Vieira 05 September 2014 (has links)
The economic perspective that the Agribusiness impose today requires to the occupant of the field brought large rearrangements in the situation of permanency ,social and economic viability, raising new challenges including the Social Movements Fight for Earth. This study aims to understand the cultural changes experienced by this social stratum that modernity tried sometimes challenged, and how new paradigms related to environmental issues have become a possibility for social and economic reproduction of the peasantry. Based on the evolution of the peasantry concept within the Brazilian social thought, is held to reflect on how this layer was designed and struck by the resolution of public policy issues relating to land reform and resolving the issue of poverty in rural areas, finding in Agroecology, today the battle flag of Rural Landless Workers Movement, the possibility of their autonomy and social reproduction. To think how this presented nowadays, a field research guidance by participant observation was made with an ecological group of organic producers in Settlement Carlos Lamarca, in order to understand how is the rearrangement of cultural values peasants in direct contact with Agribusiness. The settlement, surrounded by eucalyptus and pine forests, is located in Itapetininga city that according to polling done by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), calculating the last survey, base year 2009, maintains the largest GDP of the State Agricultural of São Paulo. This reality begs the question of how the family farm survives spatially and culturally in direct relationship with the major Agriculture

Previous issue date: 2018-03-02 / With the evolution of the genus Homo, both intellectually and physically, an important phase
of history began: the Neolithic farming revolution. The planet came to know an activity that
so far hadn’t been part of the relations between living beings: farming. Over the centuries the
landscape has changed, along with the evolution of techniques to carry on such activity. The
most affected environments were forest ecosystems, as the introduction of fire and cutting
tools allowed the forest to be put down and burned for later agricultural planting. The advance
of this management, along with the continuous increase of domesticated species, has provided
the expansion of framing for great part of the world. In modern times, this activity has
reached great proportions, influenced mainly by the green revolution, genetics, chemistry and
biotechnology, that became widely present in the farming environment .Therefore, it is
evident the degradation that this practice brings to life. As an attempt to confront this
situation agroecology has been trying to rescue and improve practices that are well-adjusted to
the dynamics of nature. When dealing with a science that involves many areas of knowledge,
agroecology is based on working with the flow of life and natural processes. An activity that
is related to agro ecological science is agroforestry systems, which basically has the purpose
of forest restoration, food production and products for use in human daily life. However, in a
more intense sense of the agroforestry system, there is an activity developed by the Swiss
farmer / researcher Ernst Götsch, with his theory and practice has been developing for almost
forty years the work of forest recovery and food production, called Syntropic Farming. So, the
work aims to perform an analysis of the Syntropic Farming, considering its foundations and
empirical applications. For the analysis of the empirical experiments, three areas were
selected that follow the management proposed and developed by Götsch, located in the states
of Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul and in the Federal District. In order to fulfill this objective, the
research had different stages. Being carried out research and readings of bibliographical
references; interviews; visitation to the selected areas, to acquire knowledge of the history and
composition of the agroforestry systems in question and direct observation; implantation and
evaluation of an agroforestry system in a town, called Sananduva - RS, in the property of the
own author. The results indicate that the Syntropic Farming shows great potential for forest
recovery, together with the restoration of the micro fauna due to the constant presence of
organic matter in the soil. It is noteworthy the great production of food, both in quantity and
in quality. The potential of replicability of the Syntropic Farming in the three analyzed
experiences was also verified, considering some selected central aspects. Since the cultivation
is based on the processes of the forest, an important effect is in the autonomy that the system
provides to the farmer.
O planeta passou a
Distrito Federal.
analisadas, considerando alguns aspectos centrais selecionados.

Previous issue date: 2018-05-30 / The debate on sustainability and more sustainable ways of dealing with the environment in which we live have permeated with relevant importance in the rural environment. Regarding this theme, the present dissertation presents an approach regarding the dynamics of agroecological production of the farmers members of the West Center of Paraná of the Ecovida Network of Agroecology. Through the method of participant observation and the application of a questionnaire in an interview, the data were obtained, making possible the subsequent analysis of the same. Through the farmers' perceptions, it was possible to analyze important aspects related to the agroecological production and agroecology in the region studied. The results obtained show a growing agro-ecological scenario, which faces some obstacles, with the challenge of overcoming social problems, such as lack of labor, family succession, lack of adequate technologies, financial support, access to agroecological inputs, as well as the low organization of farmers in access to markets. Farmers find prospects for progress in the technical support of non-governmental organizations such as Biolabore and also the important support of Itaipu Binacional, which is a reference in encouraging sustainable practices and has been doing a relevant job with rural producers in the western region of Paraná, promoting the strengthening of non-conventional Family Agriculture. In the face of the recent and progressive discourse on sustainability, it is clear that the work of agroecological farmers becomes important and of great relevance for part of the society that seeks a rural with another development perspective, that of sustainable development.

Previous issue date: 2016-03-04 / Because of the hegemonic model of food production, thousands of people are poisoned by pesticides. Poisonings increase each year, particularly in areas where uses pesticides. It is known that there are enough studies to prove that pesticides damage the health of farm workers and residents of nearby towns to agricultural regions, causing acute intoxication, subacute and chronic, and triggering a serious public health issue in Brazil. This is a research of a qualitative nature where interviews were carried out with medical that are references in the municipality of Marechal Candido Rondon and had the objective of analyzing the relation of diseases with the use of pesticides. The doctors interviewed dominated the subject with experiences of years experienced in the city and, in addition to reporting on diseases related to pesticides, were discussed poisoning cases that were neglected and the influence of the capitalist system that overlaps the quality of life of the human. Due to acute poisoning by pesticides, cases of abortions, preterm births, malformations and hypospadia in babies newborns, were reported by the physicians interviewed as a frequent diseases in the population. The professionals also draw attention to neoplasms in general and depression as clinical pathologies related to the use of agrochemicals in chronic form. It is concluded that the medical support for the diagnosis of diseases, the correct use of personal protective equipment for the application of pesticides and a existence of protocols within Public Health programs aimed at the continuous monitoring of the rural worker would be some protective actions in search of resolution of the problem with regard to contamination by the use of pesticides / Devido ao modelo hegemônico de produção de alimentos, milhares de pessoas são intoxicadas por agrotóxicos.
