Some microorganisms are known to form mutualistic symbiosis with plant roots and by their impact they can improve some plant parameters. These symbiotic microorganisms, which are able to improve some plant parameters, include especially mycorrhizal fungi, plant growth promoting bacteria and some saprotrophic mycoparasitical fungi. Mechanisms of changes of these parameters, as influenced by symbiotic microorganisms, are known only in part and nowadays are being actively researched. Aims of this work were to find out if selected microbial treatments influence selected growth, physiological and yield parameters of plants and contents of selected substances in fruits. Within this work were made three pot greenhouse experiments (experiments 1, 2 and 3) and three pilot greenhouse experiments (experiments 4, 5 and 6), performed on tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and cucumber (Cucumis sativus) plants. Plants were grown in hydroponics using a carrier of rockwool and they were watered by nutrient solution. As microbial treatments for plants in experiments have been used a mixture of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AM), mixture of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB), saprotrophic mycoparasitical fungus Trichoderma harzianum (Th) and various mutual combinations of these treatments. Ověřování efektu jemných vláken a absorpčních přísad na proces self-healing betonu / Verification of the effect of fine fibers and absorbent additives on the process of self-healing concrete

The diploma thesis deals with self-healing of concrete composite. In the theoretical part, it represents the effect of polymer microfibers on reducing the development of cracks and on improving self-healing properties. It also describes the most commonly used types of bacteria used to enhance the self-healing process and their effect both alone and in interaction with fibers, calcium sources and absorbent additives. It also represents auxiliary additives in the form of superabsorbent polymers. In the practical part, it verifies the influence of the above elements and describes how much the self-healing of concrete has been enhanced by the use of combinations of fibers, absorbent polymers and a source of calcium in the form of calcium lactate. It also indicates whether the self-healing properties used were not improved at the expense of deteriorating the mechanical properties of the composite.

År 2020 drabbades världen av Covid-19. Spridningen av viruset resulterade i att många länder upprättade en lockdown. Detta påverkade sjöfartsbranschen negativt och ställde till med problem när folk blev sjuka. Detta är på grund av den unika miljön som finns ombord på fartyg. Syftet med studien var att analysera och utvärdera hur olika fartyg och rederier agerade under covid-19-pandemin med fokus på effektivitet, framgång och problem när det kommer till smittskydd. Studiens frågeställningar berörde hur rederiers existerande smittskyddsplaner såg ut och huruvida de kan förbättras, vilka lärdomar som kan dras om smittspridning ombord på fartyg och huruvida en förbättrad smittskyddsplan kan konstrueras utifrån de som redan existerar. En kvalitativ metod i form av granskning och inläsning av studier i området smittspridning i allmänhet samt studier om utbrott av covid-19 ombord på fartyg. Smittskyddsplaner samlades in genom ett mailutskick till svenska rederier. Resultatet visar att rederierna efterlevde många av WHO:s riktlinjer där de även implementerade egna tillägg till den ombordhavna smittskyddsplanen. Vi kom även fram till att landbaserad assistans är en viktig komponent för att kunna bekämpa smittspridning ombord. / In 2020, the world was struck by Covid-19. The spread of the virus resulted with many countries establishing  lockdowns. This negatively affected the shipping industry and caused problems when people got sick. This is because of the unique environment that exists on board ships. The purpose of the study was to analyze and evaluate how different ships and shipping companies acted during the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on efficiency, success and problems when it came to controlling the spread of infections. The study's questions concerned how shipping companies' infection control plans were complied with and whether they can be improved, what lessons can be learned about the spread of infections on board ships and whether an improved infection control plan can be constructed from those that already exist. A qualitative method of reviewing and reading studies in the field of infection control in general and studies on COVID-19 outbreaks on board ships. Infection control plans were collected through a mailing to Swedish shipping companies. The results showed that the shipping companies complied with many of the WHO's guidelines where they also implemented their own additions to the on-board infection control plan. We also came to the conclusion that land-based assistance is an important component for combating the spread of infections on board.

Faktory ovlivňující kvalitu červeného vína / Factors influencing the quality of red wine

In my thesis, I focused on monitoring of microorganisms in the sample of red grape juice and on the interactions between yeasts, bacteria and filamentous fungi. Three different media were applied for the cultivation of microorganisms; firstly for monitoring of total volume of microorganisms, secondly for yeasts and third time for lactic acid bacteria. The indirect method was used for the determination of the amount of viable cells. This method consists in enumerating of visible macroscopic colonies grown up on agar plates. When the cells grew up, the forms of colonies were analyzed visually and the morphology of microorganisms was detected microscopically. The operating time of enzymes in grape juice in the production of red wine was monitored after application of commercial enzymatic preparation. The enzym action in grape juice was observed on the basis of the process of degradation of high – molecular substrate by enzymes through the use of Ubbelohd´s viscometer. The research findings provided a lot of knowledge about the occurance of microflora in the process of production of red wine. The commercial preparations added to grape juice played a significant role.
