Kaninen Bishop på matematikäventyr : Ett material som kan stödja matematikundervisning för de yngsta förskolebarnen / Bishop the Rabbit on a math adventure. : An instructional material for mathematics teaching in preschools.

Boström, Sara, Wolff, Ottilia January 2021 (has links)

Under Wendy Bishop’s Eye: An Autofictional Account of Teaching and Learning in a 21st Century (Creative) Writing Program

Roosevelt, Maura January 2023 (has links)
“Under Wendy Bishop’s Eye” examines the teaching, learning, and social environment of a graduate student in an American creative writing MFA program in the early years of the 21st century. This dissertation is a work of autofiction; it is both an autoethnography and a fictionalized story written in the form of a novel. The project uses the scholarship of writing studies’ leader Wendy Bishop to discuss and analyze the dynamics of graduate student learning in creative writing courses, undergraduate learning in creative writing courses, graduate student teaching in creative writing courses, and graduate student teaching in expository writing or first-year composition courses at a four-year college. The project addresses the limitations of the “workshop method” for teaching creative writing, while supporting the benefits of writing pedagogy that includes cross-genre writing exercises in all university-level writing courses, specifically bringing “personal writing” and creative non-fiction into both creative writing and first-year composition course.

A Study of the Rhetoric of the Early Sermons of St. Augustine

Wall, John K. January 2012 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / This examination of the first five years of his preaching identifies key ways in which Augustine of Hippo transformed classical rhetoric into the pattern he would later outline in De doctrina christiana. This thesis argues that Augustine began his career as a priest giving sermons in line with the sophistic speeches he had taught before his conversion, but that by 396 he had "redeemed" his rhetoric to fit the new purposes of the Christian church. During these early years, Augustine reduced or removed the classical exordia and perorations in order to meld his sermons into the liturgy. He also humbled, but did not eliminate, his rhetorical polish as he shifted the main purpose of rhetoric from pleasing the elites to teaching the masses.

Garin of Sion: (* c. 1065 – † 28 Aug 1150)

Luther, Johannes 28 June 2024 (has links)
Perhaps born in Pont-à-Mousson in Lorraine, G. entered Molesme around 1085 and participated in the foundation of Notre-Dame d’Aulps in 1093/94, where he became abbot in the early 1110s. Influenced by Bernard of Clairvaux, his abbey was transferred into the Cistercian movement in 1136. He became Bishop of Sion at a high age. On 25 May 1148, he attended Pope Eugene III’s consecration of the cathedral of Saint-Maurice. G. maintained close ties with his monastery in Aulps until his death. He died while travelling there. G. was not canonized, but his grave in Aulps has been a destination for pilgrims since the second half of the 12th c.

Christian rebellion theories as delivered by St. Paul from Mars Hill by Augustine, Calvin and Adams

Hastings, Jason Michael, University of Lethbridge. Faculty of Arts and Science January 2003 (has links)
This thesis explicates teh rebellion theories of three reowned Christian political thinkers and evaluates the extent that each can communicate an intelligible rebellion theory to a non-Christian audience. Augustine of Hippo, at a dawn of the medieval ages, John Calvin of Geneva during the Reformation and John Adams of the USA in the midst of the Enlightenment are the three thinkers selected for consideration. These thinkers have produced ideas that have transcended time and geographical location. Rebellion is an issue of the utmost political importance as it reveals the limits, and the first principles of politics. The issues surrounding the involovement of religion in politics have created a place for confusion in minds of many people today. The issues surrounding religion and politics need further elucidation. The way these thinkers were able to translate the divine command from Romans 13:1, which decrees an absolute prohibition against rebellion, into an intelligible rebellion theory to non-Christians, is an important consideration in this thesis. / ix, 158 leaves ; 28 cm.

Mathematical Pluralism: Constructive Mathematics and Economic Theory

Steins, Stefan Arno 09 December 2021 (has links)
We propose a practice-oriented explication of the philosophical position known as mathematical pluralism. According to this position there exist more than one legitimate mathematical system. We interpret 'legitimate' as 'suitable for realizing scientific goals' and apply the resultant pluralist position to mathematical economics. We present a conceptual framework within which pluralist theses can be formulated and evaluated, introduce an informal system of constructive mathematics as an alternative to classical mathematics, and point out that central theorems of economic equilibrium theory are not constructively provable. On this basis, we argue that pluralism obtains with respect to goals related to explanation and simplicity in economics.
