To secure and improve medication-use process are nowadays two important challenges for hospitals. Nominative dispensing, computerization, robots, and unit doses are some possible solutions enabling to give better and more secured treatment to patients. Consequently, hospitals need to reorganize and redesign their working. Unfortunately, such actions are not easy and successful due to lack of methods and tools to help decision-makers. So, in order to fill this gap, we develop in this work a new approach and three generic tools enabling health structures, and particularly pharmacists, to test some scenarios and realize themselves this reorganization. Focused on medication-use process, we use ASDI methodology to build a new generic approach, dedicated to pharmacists. Completed with the use of BPMN and UML languages, ASDI leads to a generic simulation model, which needed the conception of a “good practice guide” to structure the translation of the BPMN theoretical model to this simulation model, developed with SIMIO®. Leading to a structured approach adapted to a profession not used to work with these concepts, we apply our work on the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand, and simulate various scenarios of evolution in order to help this hospital to improve its working.

A demo modelling tool that facilitates semi-automatic demo-to-BPMN transformationsGray, Thomas James January 2020 (has links)
Given the increasing emphasis on multi-perspective modelling, the University of Pretoria’s Industrial Engineering Department requires a tool that enables horizontal transformation between DEMO (Design and Engineering Methodology for Organisations) models and other models. This tool needs to be available free-of-charge, up-to-date, and vertically consistent, and should enable horizontal transformation between DEMO models and other models such as the BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) models. Using design science research, this dissertation develops a part of this tool by first identifying and evaluating currently available tools, then discovering how other authors have approached model consistency and transformation, and finally developing a tool in ADOxx that supports the modelling of DEMO’s construction model– more specifically, the organisation construction diagram (OCD) and transaction product table (TPT) and transformations from the OCD to BPMN collaboration diagrams. The new tool, called DMT (Demo Modelling Tool), is demonstrated by modelling two case studies within the tool, and then performing four transformations. It is evaluated by having postgraduate participants model the same case study and rate the tool using pre-established usability criteria. / Dissertation (MEng)--University of Pretoria, 2020. / Industrial and Systems Engineering / MEng / Unrestricted

The process management is critical to improving the performance of companies, and the modeling stage of Business Process Management cycle (BPM). Several studies that verify the perception of responsible for modeling. Despite this there is a shortage about the perception of the process user and about the process diagram. This is important for provide improvements in the diagram as well as the notation used. This research aims to propose an approach for mapping the process user perceptions about the influence of the use of standard Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) in the management of processes in a retail company in the industry. Initially it created a literature review, through selected articles in Scopus in order to identify advantages and disadvantages regarding the use of BPMN. The results of this review have supported the creation of a closed questionnaire and structured in two parts. The first part of the questionnaire aimed to identify the importance of the criteria for research and the other to identify the influence of BPMN these criteria. The questionnaire was applied to a sample of 34 members belonging to the financial sector of a company in the retail sector. They were calculated and analyzed the means and frequency responses for all users and in particular for those with management positions. As a result the criteria were considered important or very important. The pattern of influence was considered as positive or very positive by most respondents. It also found that the criteria "easy to understand diagram", "facilitating identification of anomalies and bottlenecks" and "process management" the most important were analyzed. The criteria "easy diagram understanding" and "facilitates communication between users" were those most influenced by default. The main contribution of this study is a questionnaire template proposal, supported by the literature, which can be applied in evaluating the use of BPMN. The model helps in decision making of managers as the default deployment in the enterprise and may be used by default experts in their improvement by evaluating their results in a given context. Also, through this research, it reduces the scarcity of standardized work, regarding the use of BPMN in companies.

Konsensus i affärsprocessmodellering genom processlikhet : implementation och utvärdering av algoritmer / Consensus in business process modeling through process similarity : implementation and evaluation of algorithmsANDERSSON, MATTIS, SANKARI, SAMI January 2013 (has links)
Program: Systemarkitekturutbildningen

Utilização de ontologias para certificação de boas práticas em modelagem de processos de negócio / Using ontologies for the certification of best practices in business process modelingGoldberg Júnior, Valter Helmuth January 2016 (has links)
Business Process Management (BPM) increases the products and services quality and decreases operational costs in organizations. BPM requires the mapping of such process models that must present synthetic quality, semantic quality and pragmatic quality. Pragmatic quality, in particular, ensures understandability of the model. Models are designed by process analysts, gathering information spread at the organization and the knowledge of stakeholders. The design task is complex and some times does not result in process models with high pragmatic quality. Process model with low pragmatic quality may be difficult to understand by process stakeholders. Pragmatics quality certication tests the understanding of the process with new users. Most of the time it is hard to get new users to run tests. This work proposes an approach based on an ontology to represent process models and modeling practices to identify models with low pragmatic quality. The proposed approach is based on the development of a plug-in for Protégé ontology editor, and uses metrics from the literature to identify pragmatic quality problems in process models. This tool can be aplied in academic context so that students can better understant best practices in business process modeling, and also at business context, to review large process repositories selecting models which may have pragmatic quality problems.

Metodika vývoje IS / Methodology of IS DevelopmentSynáček, Václav January 2007 (has links)
BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation), EPC (Event-driven Process Chain), MMABP (Methodology for Modeling and Analysis of Business Process) a Meta-modelem standardů modelovacích jazyků.

Incrementando a codificação da notação e modelo de processo de negócio / Increasing the coding of the Business Process Model and NotationSantos, Carlos Francisco Habekost dos January 2016 (has links)
Business process management (BPM) enables the documentation and standardization of business processes, increasing efficiency and quality in their execution. A business process can be represented graphically by Business Process Model and Notation – BPMN, which is an OMG (Object Management Group) standard for process modeling. BPMN provides an extensive set of modeling elements, such as activities, events and gateways, which enables the representation of a wide variety of business processes. It presents high expression power that captures both temporal and logical relations between activities, data object and resources. However, considering the BPMN specification, there exists a lack of conformity between the conceptual BPMN elements definition and their respective codification (in XML format). For example, it is not expressed in the XML Message Flow element any definition to connect only elements from different pools, as described in the conceptual element definition The main goal of this work is to develop a logic that enables to express the rules described in the conceptual element definition, for each notational element. In this work, meta-algorithm is the term used to refer to this logic. Techniques of Software Testing, such as decision tables and graph coverage were used to check expressiveness of the proposed meta-algorithms. In order to verify the acceptance of users, a survey was applied, to verify the acceptance with users. As result, meta-algorithms had accepted by 73.33% participants. As main contribution this work provides a more adherent logic, compared to conceptual element definition, as well an evidence that users can have an increasing of understanding, like verified in the survey.

AUTOMATIC GENERATION OF WEB APPLICATIONS AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEMZhou, Yu 01 March 2017 (has links)
One of the major difficulties in web application design is the tediousness of constructing new web pages from scratch. For traditional web application projects, the web application designers usually design and implement web application projects step by step, in detail. My project is called “automatic generation of web applications and management system.” This web application generator can generate the generic and customized web applications based on software engineering theories. The flow driven methodology will be used to drive the project by Business Process Model Notation (BPMN). Modules of the project are: database, web server, HTML page, functionality, financial analysis model, customer, and BPMN. The BPMN is the most important section of this entire project, due to the BPMN flow engine that most of the work and data flow depends on the engine. There are two ways to deal with the project. One way is to go to the main page, then to choose one web app template, and click the generating button. The other way is for the customers to request special orders. The project then will give suitable software development methodologies to follow up. After a software development life cycle, customers will receive their required product.

Išplėstoji UML notacija verslo procesams modeliuoti ir specifikuoti / Extended UML Notation for Modelling of e-Business ProcessesPašilskytė, Inga 24 May 2005 (has links)
Visual languages are used for understandability of business analysis, modeling and computerization processes for business analysts as soon as system developers. The advantages of visual modeling are standard notation, unified concepts, and intuitive use. There is no single language suitable for all phases of business process evolution. Three languages were analyzed: UML 2.0, BPMN and BPEL4WS, with regards to their possibilities to represent and execute e-business processes. It is proposed to extend UML 2.0 with BPMN stereotypes for e-business process modeling with succeeding transformation to execution language BPEL. The exclusive feature of proposed way of modeling lies in integration of business process model with object types of problem domain. In order to test the proposed method, scenario for modeling was prepared and three models were designed: two models using UML 2.0 notation, and one model using UML extended with BPMN stereotypes. Models were compared to show new method advantages. For implementation of proposed method, UML CASE tool MagicDraw was extended with stereotypes required for the proposed method of modeling. Extended user interface was proposed for specification of business rules governing the e-business process.
