Kläder, genomslag och tidlöshet : En studie om förutsättningar att slå igenom med ett idrottsrelaterat tidlöst plagg

Syftet med studien är att ta reda på om det finns förutsättningar att skapa ett idrottsrelaterat plagg som kan få liknande genomslagskraft som en välkänd tidlös symbol inom modevärlden, "den lilla svarta" (Coco Chanel). Begrepp som tidlöshet och genomslag är svårdefinierade visar genomgången litteratur. En ansats är att tillämpa filosofiska begrepp för att kartlägga modefenomenet. Förutom de filosofiska begreppen, litteraturstudier och erfarenheter från "den lilla svarta" innehåller studien utarbetade frågor till tre personer med stor branschvana. I analysen förs ett resonemang som visar att det utefter dessa förutsättningar är möjligt att skapa plagget. / The purpose of the study is to find out if there are prerequisites for creating a sports-related garment that can have a similar impact to a well-known timeless symbol in the fashion world, "the little black dress" (Coco Chanel). Concepts such as timelessness and impact are difficult to define, the review shows literature. One approach is to apply philosophical concepts to map the fashion phenomenon. In addition to the philosophical concepts, literature studies and experiences from "the little black", the study includes elaborate questions for three people with great industry experience. The analysis provides a reasoning that shows that it is possible to create the garment according to these conditions.

Implication des canaux ioniques dans l'hypersensibilité au froid induite par l'oxaliplatine / Involvement of ion channels in the cold hypersensitivity induced by oxaliplatin

L'oxaliplatine, largement utilisé dans le traitement du cancer colorectal, se singularise par la survenue très précoce, dés le début du protocole de chimiothérapie de troubles douloureux associés à la perception du froid (hypersensibilité au froid). De nombreux traitements ont été testés pour ces symptômes sans grand succès, c'est pourquoi le développement de nouveaux analgésiques est nécessaire. Le but de ce travail est de développer un modèle souris reproduisant cette hypersensibilité au froid et d'en rechercher les mécanismes physiopathologiques. Comme chez les patients, l'administration aigüe d'oxaliplatine entraîne une amplification importante de la perception du froid chez la souris. Nous montrons que ces symptômes sont médiés par les nocicepteurs exprimant le thermorécepteur TRPM8. Sur le plan du mécanisme physiopathologique, l'oxaliplatine favorise l'excitabilité de ces nocicepteurs en diminuant de manière drastique l'expression des plusieurs canaux potassiques (TREK1 et TRAAK en particulier), et en augmentant l'expression de canaux proexcitateurs tels que les canaux cationiques activés par l'hyperpolarisation (HCN1 notamment). Ces constatations sont confortées au niveau comportemental par l'analyse de la lignée de souris double KO pour TREK1 et TRAAK, et par l'utilisation de l'Ivabradine, un inhibiteur pharmacologique spécifique des canaux HCNs. L'ivabradine, déjà utilisé en clinique pour le traitement de l'insuffisance cardiaque, entraîne une disparition de l'hypersensibilité au froid induite par l'oxaliplatine. Collectivement, ces résultats suggèrent que l'oxaliplatine exacerbe la perception du froid en remodelant le patron d'expression de plusieurs canaux ioniques qui coordonnent la réponse au froid. L'ivabradine peut ainsi représenter un traitement sur mesure pour les neuropathies induites par l'oxaliplatine. / The hallmark of oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy is a hypersensibility to cold that develops in nearly all patients ultimately leading to cessation of this chemotherapy treatment. To date, classical pain management strategies have failed to alleviate these painful symptoms, and hence there is a need for developing new and efficient analgesics. Here we report that, as in patients, oxaliplatin mediates a clear development of exaggerated perception of cold temperatures in mice. These symptoms are mediated by nociceptors expressing the thermoreceptor TRPM8. Mechanistically, we find that oxaliplatin promotes excitability in nociceptors drastically lowering the expression of distinct potassium channels (TREK1, TRAAK) that act as excitability brakes for cold perception, and by increasing the expression of pro-excitatory channels such as the hyperpolarisation-activated channels (HCNs). These findings are corroborated by the analysis of the TREK1-TRAAK null mice, and by the use a specific HCN channel inhibitor abolishing the oxaliplatin-induced cold hypersensibility. Collectively, these results suggest that oxaliplatin exacerbates cold perception in cold sensing neurons by transcriptionally remodeling a combination of ionic conductances that together shape the final response to cold. A direct promising clinical consequence of these findings for patients would be that the HCN inhibitor ivabradine could represent a tailored treatment for oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy.

The Chanel brand can be perceived, for its time of existence and marketing reach, as having a considerable power of interference on both the economic and cultural fields of the current panorama. Equally, one can perceive the interference of the personality of its founder ? stylist Coco Chanel, as a prominent female figure in the advertising of the Chanel No. 5 perfume. The observations by Patrick Charaudeau about the analysis of the discourse consist the theoretical/methodological contribution of this research, which has, as its guiding problem, to try to understand how the Chanel No. 5 perfume presents love as an object of search in its speech contract. The corpus of this study consists in four advertising films for the product, which were released between 2004 and 2014, and was outlined from the universe of advertising films that can found on the brand?s YouTube channel, considering its content in relation to love and its consequences on western culture, as well as demonstrating the aspects concerning Coco Chanel, her brand and the Chanel No. 5 perfume. Finally, this research develops the analysis of the selected advertising films, considering their situational context, identifying its discursive subjects, discursive strategies, and their enunciative contracts. As a main result, this paper demonstrates that Chanel No. 5?s advertising films try to present contemporary social aspects, especially those regarding the outlining of women?s profiles, but hide, in these traces, the persuasive presence of romantic love, instituting a kind of discursive masking. / Ao entender as emo??es como o incitamento da ordem social contempor?nea, e a import?ncia de observar a participa??o da comunica??o na constitui??o das rela??es afetivas, este estudo busca realizar uma an?lise semiolingu?stica da publicidade do perfume Chanel N?5, na inten??o de evidenciar a constru??o de sentidos relacionados ao amor. Percebe-se na marca Chanel, por seu tempo de exist?ncia e abrang?ncia mercadol?gica, um consider?vel poder de interfer?ncia tanto na inst?ncia econ?mica quanto cultural do panorama presente. Innovatrice et subversive, Chanel a transformé l’image que les femmes avaient sur elles-mêmes, en (re)signifiant le corps féminin à partir du concept issu de l’acception de l’élégance en tant que liberté en mouvement. La créatrice s’est servie du décor corporel afin de transgresser les frontières du genre à la recherche d’une mode fonctionnelle, pratique et confortable. À travers le vêtement, elle a combattu les règles de conduite et d’apparence pour les femmes de son époque à partir de l’élaboration d’un corps ambigu dont les contours se sont métamorphosés en un style qui s’est imposé tout au long du XXe siècle en devenant intemporel. Face à la diversité de catégories suggérées par l’ACD, j’ai choisi celle des choix lexicaux et de l’ethos du personnage Chanel, tout comme le découpage de « fragments discursifs », selon trois grands « axes thématiques » (donnés (auto)biographiques; corps, mode et genre; glamour et solitude) sélectionnés selon l’observation et l’identification des aspects discursifs et des thèmes davantage expressifs et significatifs pour le récit de la vie de Chanel. L’analyse – une fois étant réalisée à partir de fondements théoriques et de concepts issus de différents domaines – permet de percevoir dans le texte de Maria Adelaide une histoire de vie caractérisée par des réalisations professionnelles et des drames individuels synthétisés par des expériences paradoxales de glamour et solitude. / A presente dissertação tem como objetivo principal analisar no texto de Maria Adelaide Amaral, a construção da (auto)biografia “Mademoiselle Chanel”, voltando atenção às questões de corpo, moda e gênero, com o fim de estabelecer de que forma o glamour e a solidão se presentificam na vida da protagonista. “Mademoiselle Chanel” (2004) é um texto dramático acerca de uma das mais importantes estilistas da história da moda: Gabrielle Chanel (1883-1971). Inovadora e subversiva, Chanel transformou a imagem que as mulheres tinham de si mesmas, ao (re)significar os corpos femininos a partir do conceito que se fundamenta na acepção de elegância como a liberdade em movimento. A estilista se utilizou da decoração corpórea para transgredir as fronteiras de gênero em busca de uma moda funcional, prática e confortável. Por intermédio do vestuário, desafiou as normas de comportamento e aparência para as mulheres de sua época a partir da elaboração de um corpo ambíguo cujos contornos se transformaram em um estilo que atravessou o século XX e se tornou atemporal. A moda caracteriza-se como um sistema de comunicação e, neste viés, para fins de análise, utilizo pressupostos teórico-metodológicos obtidos da Análise Crítica do Discurso (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001; JÄGER, 2001), dos estudos sobre os gêneros literários (auto)biográficos (ARFUCH, 2007), do conceito de “biografema” de Roland Barthes (2005b), das noções de corpo (GROSZ, 2000; GOELLNER, 2003), moda (CRANE, 2000; CASTILHO, 2006) e gênero social (PERROT, 2007; FLAX, 1991), entre outros fundamentos. Diante da diversa gama de categorias sugeridas pela ACD, opto pela análise das escolhas lexicais e do ethos da personagem Chanel, além de fazer recortes de “fragmentos discursivos” segundo três grandes “eixos temáticos” (dados (auto)biográficos; corpo, moda e gênero; glamour e solidão) selecionados com base na observação e identificação dos aspectos discursivos e temas mais expressivos e significativos para a escrita da vida de Chanel. A análise, realizada com base em fundamentos teóricos e conceitos oriundos de áreas diversas, permite perceber no texto de Maria Adelaide uma história de vida composta por realizações profissionais e dramas particulares sintetizados em experiências paradoxais de glamour e solidão.

A Linguistic Analysis of Some Japanese Trademark Cases

Doctor of Philosophy / There has been dissatisfaction over some court rulings among lay people in Japan. In this thesis I propose a model to explain the discrepancies between legal experts and lay people. Chapter 1 presents the purpose of this thesis, and an overview of the model called the Linguistic Legal Model. Chapter 2 shows the Japanese legal system including a new lay-participation system, the mixed court system. Chapter 3 provides background information on Japanese trademark issues. In Chapter 4 and 5, the Linguistic Legal Model is explored with Layer Analysis and Register Analysis. For Layer Analysis in Chapter 4, the notion of layering is presented from a linguistic perspective whereas legal reasoning is discussed from the notion of different modes of thought. Register Analysis in Chapter 5 is discussed in terms of genre and register. Japanese legal language is examined together with English legal language. In Chapter 6 and 7 I examine trademark cases. The Golden Horse case in Chapter 6 presents court’s judgment of the likelihood of confusion which is in common with that of lay people. However, it is argued that the thought process in the legal judgment court was not convincing. In Chapter 7, the Snack Chanel case portrays a judgment characteristic of the legal layer, which is quite different from the common sense of lay people. This discrepancy is explained from the perspective of different layers and different modes of thought. Chapter 8 concludes with a brief summary of this thesis.

Uppsatsen har tre syften. Det första är att introducera modehistoria och modeteori som specifika vetenskapliga områden och det andra är att lyfta fram Coco Chanel och det banbrytande och framåtpekande i hennes modehistoriska insats. Det tredje syftet är att tillämpa de olika allmänna teorierna på Coco Chanels livsgärning. För det tredje syftet är frågeställningen; ”Vilka av de äldre och nyare, ofta inbördes konkurrerande, generella modeteorierna skulle på ett eller annat sätt kunna tillämpas på Coco Chanels liv och modeskapande?”. I uppsatsen ger jag en modehistorisk bakgrund och genom den visar jag Coco Chanels roll i modets historia. Jag presenterar också sex olika teorier som jag i analysen prövar på Coco Chanel. Dessa teorier är nedsjunkningsteorin, modet som kollektivt urval, mode som praktik, Lars Fr.H Svendsens teori om modets förändring för förändringens skull, Gabriel de Tardes som säger att mode kan gå från de lägre klasserna till de högre samt Eric Hobsbwan som menar att modeskapare har en speciell förmåga att fånga tidsandan. Dessa teorier sätter jag sedan i förhållande till Coco Chanel för att se huruvida de stämmer på Coco Chanels mode. Min undersökning visar att samtliga teorier, både de äldre och de nyare är tillämpbara på Coco Chanel och att de till viss del överensstämmer eller kan förklara Coco Chanels mode och etablering men i andra fall också motbevisas. Orsaken till detta är att Coco Chanel överbryggar mellan den äldre och 1900-talets modehistoria.

Pharmacologie du canal CFTR : développement de molécules activatrices du canal / Pharmacology of CFTR chanel : development of new activators

PHARMACOLOGIE DU CANAL CFTR : SYNTHESE DE NOUVEAUX COMPOSES ACTIVATEURS DE L'EFFLUX DES IONS CHLORURE.Après la découverte dans notre laboratoire d'une nouvelle réaction entre le méthylglyoxal et les α-aminoazahétérocycles aromatiques, une nouvelle famille de modulateurs de l'activité de la protéine CFTR (« Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane conductance Regulator ») a été mise en évidence en collaboration avec l'équipe de F. Becq à Poitiers. Les dysfonctionnements de cette protéine transmembranaire résultent de différentes mutations du gène correspondant et sont responsables de plusieurs pathologies dont la mucoviscidose. Les perspectives thérapeutiques de cette maladie grave impliquent l'utilisation et la recherche d'activateurs du canal CFTR.En nous basant sur la structure des composés ayant présenté les meilleurs effets activateurs de la protéine, nous avons conçu et synthétisé une série d'analogues du composé activateur le meilleur mis en évidence précédemment, GPact-11a. Les nouveaux composés préparés sont issus des réactions du méthylglyoxal ou de nouvelles voies de synthèse utilisant des acides aminés. La réactivité de GPact-11a a ensuite été étudiée et exploitée pour préparer des prodrogues potentielles et réaliser la séparation des quatre énantiomères formés lors de la préparation de GPact-11a. Un travail de modélisation des interactions des modulateurs synthétisés avec un modèle de la protéine CFTR construit par homologie de séquences par I. Callebaut, J.-P. Mornon et P. Lehn a également été développé afin de concevoir rationnellement de nouveaux activateurs et de comprendre les effets observés. / PHARMACOLOGY OF CFTR CHANNEL: SYNTHESIS OF NEW ACTIVATORS OF CHLORIDE ION EFFLUX.After the discovery in our laboratory of a new reaction of methylglyoxal with α-aromatic aminoazaheterocycles, a novel family of CFTR modulators (“Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane conductance Regulator”) has been identified in collaboration with the group of F. Becq in Poitiers. The dysfunctions of this transmembranar protein that result from different genetic mutations lead to several pathologies and among them to the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. In the search for more efficient CFTR activators from the structure of the best activator GPact-11a identified previously, a series of GPact-11a analogues was designed and synthesised through reaction of adenine derivatives with methylglyoxal or amino acids. The GPact-11a reactivity was also studied and used for the preparation of potential prodrugs and for the separation of the four enantiomers formed in the reaction leading to GPact-11a. Works were also developed to model the interactions between the synthesised derivatives and a CFTR model built through sequence by I. Callebaut, J.-P. Mornon and P. Lehn in order to design more rationally new activators and understand the biological effects.
