Para isto, observou-se o modo pelo qual as subjetividades emergem no jogo de espelhos contrastantes entre a narradora e as personagens femininas diante do casamento, da família, da sexualidade, elementos chaves neste processo.

Para tanto, foram analisados, especialmente, os livros Água viva e A paixão segundo G.H, na discussão sobre autoria. Os textos não ficcionais também foram contemplados nesse estudo: depoimentos, entrevistas, filme, vídeo, produção intelectual e outros, especialmente para a exploração dos aspectos biográficos. Analisamos o modo de circulação dos textos em trânsito (ficção e não ficção), enfim como se constroem esteticamente os jogos autorais lispectoreanos. Com relação ao tema do humano, analisam-se as reflexões postas na literatura dessa autora, quando se focaliza o animal, a relação do homem com os bichos, com o completamente outro, com os viventes. Verificamos quais as concepções derrideanas, nesse particular, são úteis para dialogar com a literatura de Lispector, aproximando, dessa forma, o discurso literário e o filosófico. Utilizou-se como referencial teórico-metodológico, para esse outro assunto, formulações de Jacques Derrida e Evando Nascimento, postas em diálogo com A paixão segundo G, H., alguns textos de Onde estivestes de noite, algumas crônicas e contos de Lispector. Com relação ao tema das paixões em Lispector, priorizamos A via crucis do corpo e Uma aprendizagem ou O livro dos prazeres. Por fim, demonstramos de que forma esses três eixos temáticos (autoria, humano e paixão) se articulam em Clarice Lispector, configurando a construção de uma literatura pensante. / This is a study of Clarice Lispector’s works, in dialogue with French philosophy (Foucault and Derrida), which seeks to analyze how Lispector develops the themes of authorship, human and passion. Thus, the books Água Viva and A Paixão segundo GH were specially analyzed in the discussion of authorship. The non-fiction texts (testimonies, interviews, film, video, intellectual production, and others) were also considered in this study especially for the exploration of the biographical aspects. We analyzed the circulation mode of the texts (fiction and nonfiction), and finally how to build esthetically fixtures of the author. Regarding the theme of the human, we analyze the reflections raised in the literature of this author, by focusing on the animal, man's relationship with animals, with the completely other, with the living. We verified which conceptions dialogue with Lispector’s literature, approaching the philosophical and the literary discourse. Jacques Derrida and Evando Nascimento’s formulations were used as a methodological reference, into dialogue with A Paixão Segundo GH and some tales by Onde estivestes de noite, some chronicles and tales by Lispector. Regarding the theme of passion in Lispector, we priorize A via crucis do corpo, Uma aprendizagem ou O livro dos prazeres. Finally, we show how these three themes (authorship, human and passion) are articulated in Clarice Lispector, configuring the construction of a thoughtful literature.

Ela assim o faz resgatando a presença, nessa obra literária, de relatos míticos das Escrituras judaico cristãs, mostrando que esses relatos foram retomados e reatualizados através da paródia. Para tal empreendimento foram tomadas como principais referências obras de Nelson Vieira, Nádia Battella Gotlib e Berta Waldman (sobre a produção de escritores judaico-brasileiros), Mircea Eliade (sobre mito) e Linda Hutcheon (sobre paródia). A metodologia empregada foi a qualitativo-interpretativa, baseada em análises descritivas e comparativas de textos literários e teóricos. Evidenciou-se, no âmbito de A hora da estrela, a aproximação de Lispector de múltiplas tradições culturais, principalmente a da judaica, que ela procurava escamotear quando questionada sobre esse assunto. / This thesis, contributing to Literary Studies, approaches Clarice Lispector to the Jewish tradition, more precisely to the one linked to the interpretation of sacred texts, resorting mainly to A hora da estrela (The Hour of the Star), the last book she published while still living. It does so by recuperating, in this literary work, the presence of mythical accounts from the Judeo-Christian Scriptures, showing that these accounts have been recaptured and updated with the help of parody. In order to do so, works of Nelson Vieira, Nádia Battella Gotlib and Berta Waldman (on the production of Brazilian-Jewish writers), Mircea Eliade (on myth) and Linda Hutcheon (on parody) have been used as main theoretical reference sources. The methodology used was the qualitative-interpretative one, based on descriptive and comparative analyses of literary and theoretical texts. It has been evidenced, within A hora da estrela, Lispector‘s approximation to multiple cultural traditions, mainly the Jewish one, which she used to hide when questioned about this subject.

Levantamos uma questão bem específica: que sentidos de dor e sofrimento são mobilizados por Clarice nas crônicas publicadas no Jornal do Brasil? Que disputas de sentido são travadas nas páginas daquele jornal que colaboram com as reflexões sobre o que é o sujeito da atualidade? Sob o ponto de vista da Análise do Discurso, serão analisados enunciados extraídos de crônicas da autora, publicadas em sua coluna semanal no Jornal do Brasil, entre os anos de 1967 e 1973, e que integram o campo semântico da dor, do sofrimento e da angústia. Nossa hipótese é de que, naquele espaço da coluna, que mantinha com o jornal e o jornalismo da época uma relação intertextual e interdiscursiva, a autora pode ter vocalizado outros modos de subjetivação em relação àqueles que iriam se afirmando na época, principalmente, no que diz respeito às enunciações sobre o mal-estar nas sociedades contemporâneas. O pressuposto é de que, ao nos interrogarmos sobre a dor e o sofrimento e seus sentidos para o sujeito, podemos encontrar as próprias pistas que marcam os modos de subjetivação de uma dada época. A pesquisa passa pela história da crônica e pelas transformações do jornalismo no país na metade do século XX; por sentidos recorrentes na obra da autora; pelas transformações nos modos de enxergar o sujeito e também os sofrimentos que o acometem. A análise se inicia com um breve estudo lexicográfico, para, em seguida, tratar das metáforas da dor e do sofrimento e da presença do “outro” nas crônicas analisadas. / The present work starts from the essential understanding that the perception of pain is built historically and socially to investigate the discourse of the writer Clarice Lispector in the light of a subjectivation in transformation. We raise a very specific question: what meanings of pain and suffering are mobilized by Clarice in the chronicles published in Jornal do Brasil? What disputes of meaning are played in the pages of that newspaper that collaborate with the reflections on what is the subject of the present? From Discourse Analysis point of view, we will analyze statements taken from the author's chronicles, published in her weekly column in Jornal do Brasil, between 1967 and 1973, and which are part of the semantic field of pain, suffering and anguish. Our hypothesis is that, in that space of the column, which maintained an intertextual and interdiscursive relationship with the newspaper and journalism of the time, the author may have voiced other modes of subjectivation in relation to those who would assert themselves at the time, respect to the enunciations about the malaise in contemporary societies. The assumption is that, when we interrogate ourselves about pain and suffering and its senses for the subject, we can find the very clues that mark the modes of subjectivation of a given time. The research goes through the history of the chronicle and the transformations of journalism in the country in the middle of the twentieth century; through recurrent meanings in the work of the author; through the transformations in the ways of seeing the subject and also the sufferings that affect him. The analysis begins with a brief lexicographic study, to then deal with the metaphors of pain and suffering and the presence of the "other" in the analyzed chronicles.

[pt] A presente dissertação busca analisar o modo como Clarice Lispector foi traduzida e lida em língua inglesa. Desse modo, serão pontuados os contextos históricos e os agentes de dois projetos distintos de tradução: o primeiro, ocorrido entre as décadas de 1960 e 1990, que situou Clarice como uma escritora sobretudo acadêmica e feminista; e o segundo, que vem ocorrendo desde o ano de 2009 e que teve como ponto inicial a biografia de Clarice escrita por Benjamin Moser, no qual Clarice figura como uma escritora estrangeira e canônica. As vertentes teóricas que embasam este trabalho, provenientes dos Estudos da Tradução e que sofreram o impacto da chamada virada cultural da área, auxiliarão na análise dos paratextos que cercam as traduções aqui discutidas, uma vez que atribuem um papel ativo ao tradutor e enxergam a tradução como instrumento de consagração de um autor. Desse modo, a teoria da invisibilidade do tradutor, proposta por Lawrence Venuti, os conceitos de patronagem e reescrita, de Lefevere, e os estudos desenvolvidos por Luise von Flotow e Sherry Simon, que vinculam a tradução às questões de gênero, serão peças integrais para que possamos analisar as diferentes imagens de Clarice Lispector criadas pela via da tradução. / [en] The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the translation into English of Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector s books and the different readings of her work which surfaced in that language. With that in mind, the historical contexts as well as the agents behind two distinct translation projects will be analyzed: the first project, which took place between the decades of 1960 and 1990, and understood Clarice as an academic and feminist writer; and the second project, which began in 2009 with Lispector s biography, written by Benjamin Moser, and placed her as a foreign and canonical writer. The theoretical frameworks employed in this thesis all originate in the field of Translation Studies and were influenced by the so-called cultural turn. They will be applied to analyze the paratexts accompanying the various translations discussed herein, since they afford the translator a more active role and view the act of translation as a way of acknowledging an author. Thus, the notion of translator s invisibility proposed by Lawrence Venuti, the concepts of patronage and rewriting of Andre Lefevere, and the studies developed by Luise von Flotow and Sherry Simon, linking translation and gender, are essential for analyzing the different images of Clarice Lispector created through translation.

Discuto aqui alguns conceitos sobre a imaginação nos quatro contos para crianças da autora: O mistério do coelho pensante; A mulher que matou os peixes; A vida íntima de Laura; Quase de verdade. Esta pesquisa procura demonstrar a versatilidade da autora em transitar pelos diferentes aspectos da imaginação de forma singular. Verifica-se que o ineditismo, a transgressão e a vanguarda estão presentes na linguagem tipicamente peculiar de Clarice Lispector, provocando no leitor, na época em que os contos foram publicados, o efeito do estranhamento, independentemente de este leitor ser um adulto ou uma criança. Clarice é um dos autores que em muito contribuirá para suavizar a literatura infantil nacional das imposições pedagógicas enraizadas desde o período colonial. / This study proposes an investigation on the presence of elements that arouse the imagination of the reader in child work of Clarice Lispector. I discuss here the different shapes that make up the comprehensive way of imagination, listing the four short stories by the author: O mistério do Coelho pensante; A mulher que matou os peixes; A vida íntima de Laura; Quase de verdade. This research will seek to demonstrate the versatility of the author in transit the different aspects of the imagination through a unique way, where the novelty, transgression and the vanguard are present through the typically peculiar language of Clarice Lispector, causing the reader, at the time the short stories were published, the effect of estrangement, regardless of whether it is an adult or a child. Clarice is one of the authors who will contribute to soften the national children's literature of the rooted pedagogical impositions from the colonial period.

A escritura clariciana propõe essa estratégia de criação como necessária à liberação da vida em sua manifestação mais potente e impessoal. Para Clarice, portanto, a literatura se constitui como uma prática extrema e arriscada, porque requisita uma aproximação com intensidades desterritorializantes: o risco é desejar dar um passo fora do senso comum, do reconhecível; escapar das leis da língua; viver escrever intensamente; capturar a realidade do devir. A figuração desse pensamento foi percebida, de modo concentrado, no conto “Os obedientes”, do livro Felicidade Clandestina, texto cujas imagens relativas à profundidade e à superfície podem remeter a uma criação filosófico-conceitual a respeito da vida e do real. Essa escrita, interdisciplinar e intensiva, praticada por Clarice Lispector abriu espaços de encontros com outros criadores de pensamento, entre eles Roberto Corrêa dos Santos, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Roland Barthes, Suely Rolnik, Nietzsche, Alberto Pucheu e André Monteiro. / Our objective inside this work was to critically read several texts by Clarice Lispector, most of them short stories and novels, from which was possible to see the affirmation of the indiscipline as a creative strategy. Through the experience of transgression – specially to the disciplinary boundaries of literature and philosophy, and to the canonical rules of the language –, Lispector‟s writing presents indiscipline as a necessary condition to the release of life in its most potent and impersonal form. To the writer Clarice Lispector, therefore, literature is an extreme and risky practice because it demands the proximity to non-territorial intensities: the risk is to desire to step outside the common sense, what can be recognized; escaping from the language rules; living and writing intensely; capturing the reality of devir. The image of this line of thinking can be seen mostly in the short story “Os obedientes”, published in the book Felicidade Clandestina. The images related to the deepness and the surface inside this text can be related to a philosophical and conceptual creation concerning life and reality. Lispector‟s intensifying and interdisciplinary writing made it possible to create connection and encounters with some other thinkers, e.g., Roberto Corrêa dos Santos, Gilles Deleuze, Félix Guattari, Roland Barthes, Suely Rolnik, Nietzsche, Alberto Pucheu and André Monteiro.

[pt] Esta dissertação busca construir um diálogo entre a escritora brasileira Clarice Lispector, nascida na Ucrânia e naturalizada brasileira, e Agnès Varda, cineasta belga radicada na França. Enquanto a primeira estabeleceu uma mudança de paradigma na prosa de ficção brasileira, produzindo imagens a partir da escrita, a segunda se tornou uma referência do cinema ensaístico em todo o mundo, usando o texto de suas narrações em off para expandir o significado das cenas que preenchiam a tela. A análise de suas obras revela pontos de intersecção na construção de suas narrativas: ambas cultivam um olhar especulador e formas semelhantes de estranhamento e deslocamento, partindo do fragmento para falar do todo e enfocando os que estão à margem. Esta dissertação tem também como objetivo identificar traços como flexibilidade e apagamento da ideia de roteiro e de linearidade, tanto temporal quanto da trama como um fio que se possa seguir. / [en] This thesis intends to build a dialogue between the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, born in Ukraine and naturalized Brazilian, and Agnès Varda, a Belgian filmmaker based in France. While the first established a paradigm shift in Brazilian fiction, producing images from writing, the second became a reference of essayistic cinema worldwide, using her narrative texts in off to expand the meaning of the scenes that filled the screen. The analysis of their work reveals points of intersection in the construction of their narratives: they both cultivate a curious look and similar forms of estrangement and displacement, starting from the fragment to speak of the whole and focusing on those who are on the edge. This thesis also seeks to identify aspects such as flexibility and dissolution of the idea of script and linearity, both temporal or as a plot that can be followed.

Este trabalho apresenta-se como um exercício de leitura da ficção da escritora brasileira Clarice Lispector e tem por objetivos identificar, em contos e romances de sua autoria, a presença de questões relativas à História, à cultura e à sociedade brasileiras e examinar o modo como tais questões são representadas. Propõe-se, assim, uma leitura da obra de Lispector em que se realiza o cruzamento de uma forma de evidente caráter intimista com temas de natureza social, histórica e cultural, dando-se especial relevo à cidade e à constituição da experiência urbana no Brasil. Para tanto, são examinados, com maior detalhamento, os romances Perto do coração selvagem, O lustre, A cidade sitiada, A paixão segundo G.H. e A hora da estrela, além de vários contos da autora, publicados em diferentes coletâneas. The city and the construction of urban experience in Brazil are highlighted in this study.
