Gottfridsson, Anna January 2008 (has links)
Abstract; Finding needs of knowledge are important for universities but also for operation in the surrounding area. Teacher, student and other organization have to make efforts to create opportunities to develop knowledge. Without cooperate/ cooperation they can loose possibilities to develop valuable knowledge. How do the organization see upon meanings of the procedures of cooperation? How do they work with and for cooperation? What role should the universities play in the development of knowledge in todays community of change? The aim of this study is to create an understanding for the meaning of cooperation procedure by developing knowledge and how it might bring value. My interest in this is to find the means of procedure of cooperation and to create understanding. By using interviews, the interviewee can tell about their different experiences. In this study there is six interviews made with people who work with procedure of cooperation in six different operation. The result shows that opportunity to make a procedure of cooperation and developing knowledge depends on the operators work with planning of the procedure. By finding needs and the means to attain the goals depends on the different needs and demands of the operator. The procedure might bring both the development of knowledge but also values. It requires good communication and action from all parts involved. Both Universities and surrounding operators have to change their role by working towards cooperation. It is a matter of creating values for all in the procedure of cooperation.

Förtroende i ansvarsfördelade organisationer : En kvalitativ fallstudie hur aktörer skapar och bibehåller förtroende

Bergvik, Jens, Eriksson, Hanna January 2015 (has links)
Nyckelord: Decentralisation, distributed responsibility, organisational trust, trust, create trust, retain trust / Title: A qualitative case study research on how operators create and retain trust in organisations with distributed responsibility Level: Bachelor thesis Author: Jens Bergvik och Hanna Eriksson Supervisor: Stig Sörling och Tomas Källquist Date: 2015 – January Aim: According to earlier research trust is important to many of the organisations results and the base in relationship and collaboration. The connection between trust and organisations with distributed responsibility is identified but there is a lack of practical research. With distributed responsibility there will be a need of collaboration, when a lot of people have responsibilities and authority to make decision. The purpose of this report is to increase understanding about how operators create and retain trust and to highlight the role of trust in organisations with distributed responsibility. Method: The report adopts a hermeneutic perspective and the studied phenomenon assumes to be a social construction. A deductive approach have been used to collect theoretical and empirical information. The base for the report is a case study with a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews. Result & Conclusions: The report implies that trust is difficult to describe because it is perceived as an abstract phenomenon and therefore there is an absence of concrete tools. Instead, the factors that is considered to influence trust is also the factors that is being used to create and retain trust, which is competence, communication and understanding. Suggestions for future research: Trust has an important role in organisations and this report is limited to a specific organisational structure. Another suggestion is to study the different operators’ role in the process of creating trust. Contribution of the thesis: The reports contribution is how operators create and retain trust and highlight the role of trust in organisations with distributed responsibility. The report indicates that trust is difficult to describe because it is perceived as an abstract phenomenon. Also shows the importance of trust in organisations with distributed responsibility, because trust makes relationships and delegation more effective. Competence, communication and understanding are factors that the report present as factors that has influence on creating trust. To retain trust the report argues that continuously work with competence and communication will be needed. Key words: Decentralisation, distributed responsibility, organisational trust, trust, create trust, retain trust

Model-Based Development of Multi-iRobot Simulation and Control

January 2012 (has links)
abstract: This thesis introduces the Model-Based Development of Multi-iRobot Toolbox (MBDMIRT), a Simulink-based toolbox designed to provide the means to acquire and practice the Model-Based Development (MBD) skills necessary to design real-time embedded system. The toolbox was developed in the Cyber-Physical System Laboratory at Arizona State University. The MBDMIRT toolbox runs under MATLAB/Simulink to simulate the movements of multiple iRobots and to control, after verification by simulation, multiple physical iRobots accordingly. It adopts the Simulink/Stateflow, which exemplifies an approach to MBD, to program the behaviors of the iRobots. The MBDMIRT toolbox reuses and augments the open-source MATLAB-Based Simulator for the iRobot Create from Cornell University to run the simulation. Regarding the mechanism of iRobot control, the MBDMIRT toolbox applies the MATLAB Toolbox for the iRobot Create (MTIC) from United States Naval Academy to command the physical iRobots. The MBDMIRT toolbox supports a timer in both the simulation and the control, which is based on the local clock of the PC running the toolbox. In addition to the build-in sensors of an iRobot, the toolbox can simulate four user-added sensors, which are overhead localization system (OLS), sonar sensors, a camera, and Light Detection And Ranging (LIDAR). While controlling a physical iRobot, the toolbox supports the StarGazer OLS manufactured by HAGISONIC, Inc. / Dissertation/Thesis / Model-Based Development of Multi-iRobot Toolbox (version 1.0) / M.S. 網站內容由使用者提供的Web 2.0網站之價值共創與創新事業模式研究 / A study of value co-creation and innovation business model of aggregator type Web 2.0 websites

Chiang, Fang Yi Unknown Date (has links)
In the past business mindset, people think that the value was created by enterprises. Enterprises decide what value their products and services provide, and the consumer only means the demand of their product. With the industry environment changes and the internet economics’ coming, the boundary between producer and consumer is getting more and more indistinct. This kind of situation also takes place in the internet. The website only provides the information with their desires and the users for the website are just the flow creator. As the progress of the information technology and the internet technology, people are getting to cooperate by their collective intelligence through the internet. And the phrases“Web2.0”is born to represent this new internet development. According to the research of July 2007 Taiwan broadband transmission investigated by TWNIC, the internet popularity rate of Taiwan has reached 67.77%, and there are more than 450 million network users around the world. In this kind of trend, the Web2.0 companies in the US has received $ 870 million from venture capitalists, and under the trend, plenty of start-up companies has devoted themselves in the business. So this study’s objective is to give a preliminary study on how the Web2.0 websites in Taiwan construct the innovative business model, and to let the new followers or the old Web1.0 websites know how to succeed in this competitive market. This study will focus on the aggregator type Web2.0 website, research how the innovative concept come into being, start-up history, and how they create the business model of the value co-create with customer. At the beginning, this study will generalize the definition of the Web2.0 in this study by reviewing discusses and analyses which were proposed by scholars and internet trend observers, and then propose the research construct base on the business concept innovation (Hamel, 2000), value co-creation theory (Prahalad & Ramswamy, 2003), and the start-up capital construction. After the case study and research, there are five research results: 1.The aggregator web2.0 website’s innovative concept is not only come from entrepreneur but also the website users. And there are many people participate the concept create process. 2.The aggregator web2.0 website’s core strategies will depend on if the entrepreneur is the lead user. Their target market strategy is to focus on one single niche market at the beginning, then extend to other niche market, and finally aim at mass market. 3.The strategic assets for the aggregator web2.0 website are not the key component. But with the website’s growth, the strategic assets will affect the core strategies’ construction and implementation. 4.The aggregator web2.0 website provides the value co-creation designed customer interface on its platform. 5.The aggregator web2.0 website builds their value network by content construction, complementary functions construction, value exchange and other alliances.

The Mandala dancers : a collaborative inquiry into the experiences of participants in a program of creative meditation : an investigation into a means of celebrating the wonderful in ordinary people

Pearce, Malcolm, University of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury, Faculty of Health, Humanities and Social Ecology, School of Social Ecology January 1994 (has links)
The thesis is the result of an inquiry into the experiences of a group of people engaged in a Buddhist inspired creative meditation program, the main practice of which is the recognition and honouring of the spiritual dimensions, the divinity of self and others. The study employed a heuristic process of examining 'inner world' experiences. The inquiry was collaborative in the sense that its findings were not those of one person alone, but were a compilation of the results of interactions within the group. The inquiry was based on the hypothesis that creative meditation can facilitate changes in a person's perception of self and the external world. The principal aim was to explore into that possibility and investigate the group members' thoughts and feelings as to the main function, significance and eventual outcome of their practice. The investigation seemed to show that for the core group participants there were changes in self-understanding involving more self-acceptance. Changes in attitudes to relationships of various kinds also took place and these also seemed to involve the development of a greater degree of acceptance. With some participants the association of the practice with favourable co-incidence was an interesting but inexplicable feature. For some there was an identification of mind sets which seemed to have a bearing on the quality of meditation experience and its outcomes. The title of the study refers to the manner in which the meditations were often generated. A mandala, a symbolic picture, was designed by each participant and the features of this were imagined to move, sometimes dancing, through the meditations which followed. The second sub-title refers to an integral feature of the practice which was an attempt to arouse a sense of the wonderful as a quality of the people who were imagined to appear in the meditations. / Master of Science (Hons) (Social Ecology)
