Barnperspektiv i barnavårdsutredningar : med barns hälsa och barns upplevelser i fokus / Child perspective in child welfare investigations : children’s health and children’s experiences in focus

Hultman, Elin January 2013 (has links)
The overall aim of this thesis is to explore how the physical- and psychological health of children – as well as children’s own experiences – are represented in child welfare investigations. The results are discussed with reference to both legal regulations and theories, which identify children as subjects and social actors in their own right. The four studies show that there are limitations in how children’s health generally, along with their experiences more specifically, are described. The consequence is a diminishing of the chances to understand the child’s need for support. One reason for this might be that legal regulations for social welfare investigations do not automatically ascribe to children the status of subjects and social actors. Compared with previous research, results gathered in this thesis indicate that the child’s perspective has been strengthened in both law and in social welfare investigations. All the same, there is still a need for more developed analyses of children’s health as well as children’s experiences. Such an understanding requires that children be seen from their unique positions, ensuring moreover that social services take into account the specific needs of individual children.

Morina, Liridon, Johansson, Robert January 2013 (has links)
Individual Education Plans and the means of creating a sustainable platform for children with learning difficulties is a subject of vast discussion. The original idea was to create a system in which the documentation of certain students with learning difficulties would lead to precautions being taken in order to eradicate difficulties and improve student’s abilities to excel in studies. However, in practice, the IEPs proved less functioning and the special needs of students were not attained accordingly to the theoretical approach. In some aspects the IEPs were a helpful tool to create sustainability for students with special needs, but in the long term the IEPs seemed to provide less support and more segregation. The usage of individual education plans in the Swedish school, as well as Irish- and British schools, had its own theoretical standpoints within each faculty. For some schools the IEP was used as a tool to reflect that the institution indeed followed the guidelines set for special education, in order to protect institutional activities. For other schools there was a normative behavioral standard to be measured through IEPs, in these certain scenarios the IEP served as a tool to create a “normal” behavior for the students that showed certain social “problems”. In many regards these behavioral precautions did not have any actual relation to said student’s special education needs. In this study we examine how the theoretical approach to the IEPs was regarded and how these theoretical ideas have been implemented in practice. In this study we also present a discussion about how the theoretical and practical usage of IEPs is in any form regarded as positive or negative, in accordance to the scientific approach of special education.

The Role of social media artifacts in collaborative software development

Treude, Christoph 13 August 2012 (has links)
Social media mechanisms, such as wikis, blogs, tags and feeds, have transformed the way we communicate, work and play online. Many of these technologies have made their way into collaborative software engineering processes and modern software development platforms, either as an adjunct or integrated into a wide range of tools ranging from code editors and issue trackers to IDEs and web-based portals. Based on the results of several large scale empirical studies, this thesis presents findings on how social media artifacts, such as tags, feeds and dashboards, bridge lightweight and heavyweight task management in software development. Furthermore, this work shows how blogs, developer wikis and Q&A websites are changing the way software is documented. Based on these findings, the thesis describes a model that characterizes social media artifacts along several dimensions, such as content type, intended audience, and review mechanisms. The role of social media artifacts in collaborative software development lies in the timely dissemination of scenarios and concerns to a diverse audience through a process of implicit and informal collaboration, triggered by questions from users or articulation work. These findings lead to tool and process recommendations as well as the implementation of tools that leverage social media artifacts, and they indicate that tool support inspired by social media may play an important role in improving collaborative software development practices. / Graduate

Högberg, Denice January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to research how preschool teachers describe the participation of children in their pedagogical documentation. The hypothesis that the study is trying to answer are: What is the purpose of pedagogical documentation? How can you make the children a part of the pedagogical documentation? What signifies the choice of the individual documentation tool for the participation of the child during the documentation process? To reassures the empirical investigation of the study and its hypothesis, I used a qualitative research approach and interviews as a collection method. The study has its starting point in the social constructive perspective where also a power structure within the pedagogical documentation is used, as well as different views on children out of the pedagogues perspective. The study shows that the most common approach is reflection, in order to evaluate children in the pedagogical documentation. Reflection is done in various ways but mostly with the help of photographs taken by the pedagogues. Throughout the study it appeared that preschool teachers came to the conclusion that it is very complex to present the participation of the children in their educational documentary work. Depending on a range of different factors, most preschool teachers start to document from the children's point of view in order  to interpret the their learning process. The study also shows that there is a clear power structure in how preschool teachers communicate concerning the children's participation in their pedagogical documentation. The pedagogues control what to document and how the children's learning progress should be documented. Hur görs barnen delaktiga i förskollärarnas pedagogiska dokumentationsarbete?

No. of bitstreams: 1 5810.pdf: 4577582 bytes, checksum: a715a6af82868f2ff89c181e7fa995ba (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-27 / The quality of records conducted on medical record reflects the quality of care provided, and can inform about the health service. The literature raised for this study is emphatic when saying that the record of the professional writing is the only acceptable proof of intervention in treatment. This research is a transversal study, descriptive and exploratory based on technique of documentary analysis. The study aimed to describe what occupational therapists who work in outpatient service are registering in the medical records. For data collection was used a "check-list", which contains information on: Assessment, Intervention and Results. The records analyzed were those of patients who received occupational therapy treatment between June 2012 to June 2013. There were selected only those who were discharged, in order not to bring any bother. 15 medical charts were analyzed. It was found that the initial assessment (93, 3%) was the subtype most frequently used by professionals of the clinic and the method for recording was the use of pre-defined roadmap for the institution (80%), followed by information about the routine, complain and goals of the patient (80%). For intervention records, the subtype record used was the daily evolution (100%), being the narrative (100%) the method used to record the evolutions. Were analyzed 269 records of evolutions. There were found more information about the type of technical procedure used (100%) in the intervention was a free annotation, without a pattern. As for the discharged record it was observed that all professionals use a registry model (100%) as subtype to discharged record and all records (100%) the method used to discharged record was the guide pre- defined by the institution. Information to identify the record and information to identify the patient were the most frequent (93%), followed by information about the intended objectives and if they had been reached or not (26%). The study suggests a closer relationship with the subject rarely discussed in Brazilian literature and may point to a lack of important information in the records, suggesting that this issue needs to be better crafted, stimulating the search for capacity building on the subject. This research also provided knowledge that may guide the practice of occupational therapists, enabling greater accuracy when performing patient records.

The Strict Liability of State Suppliers in the Presentation of False Documentation or Inaccurate Affidavit / La Responsabilidad Objetiva de los Proveedores del Estado en la Presentación de Documentación Falsa o Declaración Jurada Inexacta

Martínez Zamora, Marco Antonio 10 April 2018 (has links)
The present paper pretends to open the debate about the limits of responsibility of State suppliers on the presentation of false or inexact documentation on the selection procedures as a participator on the frame of the public procurement law, considering that the burden of proof has been translated to the governed, punishing in a more severe way the infringement to the due of veracity on the documentation that is provided by suppliers to public entities.

Injury prevention related to falls of the residents of Home for the elderly.

SOUKUPOVÁ, Hana January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis is structured into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part consists of four chapters. The empirical part of the diploma thesis is based on qualitative research. The data were collected via semi-structured interviews with the senior citizens and the nurses. The replies were processed into clearly arranged charts and categories with brief descriptions. Another research method applied was observation. The interviews were followed by a detailed analysis of the documentation, which involved the analysis of the medical records of the senior citizens with a focus on medical diagnosis, chronic medication, and processing of the fall risk and its evaluation. The diploma thesis pursued three objectives by means of four related research questions. The first objective was to ascertain the extent of the clients' awareness of fall risks. The second objective was to assess the discomfort associated with usage of the special device preventing hip joint injuries resulting from falls during common everyday activities of the senior citizens. Finally, the third objective was to obtain the opinions of the healthcare staff on working with clients wearing special devices preventing the hip joint injuries. Four research questions were formulated in connection with these three objectives. Research question No. 1: What is the quality of information provided by the healthcare staff as part of the preventive intervention regarding the falls? Research question No. 2: How willing are the clients to accept changes contributing to fall prevention? Research question No. 3: To what extent is the comfort of the client affected by using special devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries? Research question No. 4: To what extent is the work of the healthcare staff affected if their clients use devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries? The results of the qualitative research suggest that the extent of information provided by the healthcare staff as part of the preventive intervention regarding the falls is insufficient in terms of awareness of the risky places. In particular, the research revealed that the nurses fail to sufficiently monitor the effects of chronic medication which may contribute to psycho-motor inhibition of the senior clients. As far as mobility aids are concerned, the nurses offer these devices sufficiently. The nurses demonstrated very good knowledge of all the mobility aids which may facilitate self-reliance of the senior clients. Another problematic issue is the safety of the rooms, particularly in terms of various protrusions and unevenness in the bathrooms. The results of the research do not show any unwillingness of the clients to accept changes contributing to fall prevention. Nevertheless, two of the respondents failed to engage in the activities and maintain physical fitness by regular exercise in the Retirement House. Furthermore, the results do not show any limitation of the clients' comfort resulting from using special devices preventing fall-related hip joint injuries. Finally, according to the research the healthcare staff does not feel restricted in any way when working with senior clients using such device. The results of the research will be used for repeated meetings with the senior clients and particularly with the nurses. The management of the Retirement House, together with the healthcare staff, are working on a new educational material which would indicate risky places with increased probability of falls. These results could be beneficial also for other facilities where healthcare staff takes care of senior citizens. Last but not least, the results are of interest also to the health insurance companies which could provide this special device with at least partial subsidy as part of the primary prevention programme.
