Leblanc, Véronique January 2009 (has links) (PDF)
______________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Art relationnel, Art d'intervention, In situ, Artur Zmijewski, Action terroriste socialement acceptable (ATSA), David Dupont, Devora Neumark, Raphaëlle de Groot.

The logistical secret : Supply Chain Management in the Dominican Republic

Timén, William January 2013 (has links)
Globalisation has made logistics more important than ever in developing countries. If one business function raises their costs on a service, the end customer will usually pay the price in the store. When the end customers cannot afford the end price on a product, they will turn to other alternatives. This thesis examines how process management would affect the local population within the Dominican Republic. By beginning to question why some functions exist the effect will be economically visible in a DuPont according to the theories. Supply chain management seeks to manage the whole processes from A to Z in the most efficient way possible. The study was conducted during 8 weeks in the Dominican Republic. Eleven managers were interviewed to see how important SCM is for DR. The conclusions of the study is that Supply Chain Management is very important for DR. Well managed supply chains allow higher quality goods such as medicine and food to be accessed at a lower price by the local population. By targeting the economical position of working capital in a process an organisation can reach an increased ROI without the use economical means (increase the income/delivery service or reduce the costs). / MFS study financed by the Swedish International Development cooperation Agency, SIDA

Finding a position for a firm to succeed in the seed industry

Carlson, Thomas R January 1900 (has links)
Master of Agribusiness / Department of Agricultural Economics / Arlo Biere / The investors I am representing would like to know if they can be successful in the seed industry. They have certain skills and abilities along with industry experience that provides them with certain advantages that would allow them to succeed in the industry. The thesis or study will provide them with a detailed study of the possibilities and the challenges that are before them. To gain insight into positioning a firm in the industry, one must find a tool to help us to discover the answers to the question. I will use "Strategic Visioning in Cascade", this model outlines area of interest such as; a strategic overview, a value proposition, a market analysis, a functional analysis, financial projection and exit strategy in its total. The focus of the study will provide insight into the value proposition and market analysis. The value proposition will follow Michael Porter's Competitive Strategy analogy of cost leadership, differentiation and focus strategies. The market analysis will follow Thompson and Strickland's seven questions that lead to understanding of the selected industry.

Theory and Practice of Financial Analysis / Theory and Practice of Financial Analysis

Jakova, Ivana January 2009 (has links)
Analysts, managers or other business executives and students have at their disposal wide variety analytical techniques when they want to evaluate company's financial position or when they wish to better understand the financial implication of business operational activities or investment. This thesis examines the uses of financial analysis as one of the main financial assessment techniques. After describing theoretically the main tools of financial analysis, this thesis determines the practicality of these tools in evaluating the financial health of a car distributor company for the period from year 2002 to year 2009. Despite the fact that the analyzed company's core business is car distributor, this analysis takes into consideration also other activities of the company such as repair center because, as the analysis shows, it influenced the financial results of the company. This thesis is concluded with general outcomes from the financial analysis and with recommendation for the company in order to prevent potential risks and in order to improve its financial results.

Reporting výkonnosti pobočkových pracovníků / Client workers‘ performance reporting

Klepetko, Vítězslav January 2012 (has links)
The thesis aims at design and implementation of a corporate performance management system in retail banking. It proposes a tree of performance metrics based on Dupont pyra-mid model. Using financial as well as non-financial measures, the proposed model manages to link all levels of management together into one shared hierarchy. As a result, the model shows how performance of a single worker adds up to the performance of the company as a whole. The model uses financial metrics such as interest margin, account balance, fees and remuneration cost and links them with non-financial measures such as client worker activities with clients, success rate of marketing campaigns, or client complaints. Implementation of the corporate performance management system is done using regular business intelligence tools. Third normal form data warehouse is the source for all data needed. A datamart on Teradata platform is proposed to hold the SQL transformed data from the data warehouse. Using the datamart a metadata layer in Microstrategy is created to distribute data among users.

Moreau, Annabelle 04 1900 (has links)
Refering to the theories of Lise Gauvin, Sherry Simon and Catherine Leclerc on «linguistic superconsciousness» (surconscience linguistique), «impact of languages» (choc des langues), and « contact zones» (zones de contact), this thesis produces a Montreal literature which is based on languages, French and English, in a contemporary context. Motivated by the debates around anglo-quebec literature and anglo-quebec writers, this thesis analyses two novels from the points of view of languages : Eric Dupont's La logeuse and Gail Scott's Heroine. The main objective of this study is to show that the concept developed by Gilles Marcotte in « Neil Bissoondath disait » which forbids comparisons between French an English texts, is obsolescent following the reading of the two novels. This thesis shows that in the context of Montreal, languages can create a specificity when they are not anymore a pretext to division, but the sign of a reconciliation.

Material planning : for optimized logistical processes in terms of time and cost.

Linhem, Nathalie, Arvidsson, Caroline January 2017 (has links)
Planning, control and monitoring are key processes in material planning and its flow from supplier to end customer. The activities within the planning process can also have a crucial effect on the availability of the company’s products. This thesis examines how planning can be optimized for different products, and aims to develop procedures for the handling of product planning in order to contribute to a better efficiency from a holistic perspective. There’s a need for a clear framework to optimize the conditions for the planning of complex customer orders. The planning process is in need of ancillary activities for optimal outcomes and is based on logistical and financial tools and methods. If these are applied effectively, the lead times can be reduced and the backward scheduling can be simplified, since the right products are stocked and orders are being placed at the right time, with the optimum order quantity for minimizing the costs that may arise. Additionally, a holistic approach is required, where the whole supply chain is involved. The relationships within the network are an important aspect for an optimized planning, to ensure a high delivery precision. The framework that have been produced, includes a basic idea of logical thinking, effective communication channels and the right thing at the right place at the right time. But it should be emphasized that each organization is unique and should adapt this approach to its own business, but still apply the mindset that the framework entails.

The method used to perform this evaluation was the DuPont System, that acts as a search technique that helps locate the key areas responsible for the company's financial performance. The results showed clear financial and operational differences between the groups of companies that were already disinvested by PEIF and those that are still part of the portfolio. In the first group, approximately 71.42% of the companies had a positive net margin and a stable financial leverage multiplier of around 2.0 times for at least three years before the disinvestment, generating positive impacts on the accumulated results of ROA (Return on Assets) and ROE (Return on Equity) profitability indicators calculated by the System DuPont. From this data analysis it will be possible, for instance, to determine standards that will help managers to satisfactorily complete the divestment process in the companies that are still part of the portfolio. The analysis of the companies already divested in relation to the results obtained and the way they were constructed allows us to conclude that the investment in Private Equity can be an alternative to diversify portfolio of investments, as well as reduce the concentration in segments of variable income and fixed income.
