Previous issue date: 2015-08-07 / Situated in the didactic, this research is focused on teaching and learning of the mathematical
concept of function. The Brazilian scientific literature within the mathematics education
shows that the learning difficulties related with the concept of function, are associated with
teaching methodologies. Teaching through problem solving is an alternative, but in general,
are not singled out theories or teaching methods by problems with potential to promote
change. Emphasizing the historical-cultural approach, it sought to clarify the issue: how to
structure the teaching approaching the theories Davydovs developmental teaching and
Majmutovs problem-based teaching for what the student to learn the concept of function?
Besides the analysis of the teaching-learning of concept of function on the basis of historicalcultural
theory, the research aimed to: clarify the nuclear aspect of the concept of function as
the basis for its teaching; analyze the teaching theories of Davydov and Majmutov discussing
their similarities and differences; point out the benefits and limitations of the teaching of
function based on these theories. For teaching the concept of function, it is considered the
Bourbakis approach, which points as nuclear element, essential to the understanding of this
concept, the specificity of the relationship between the elements of the sets involved. The
methodological procedures were literature and field research, and the latter consisted of a
formative didactic experiment in 1st year Teaching Integrated Technical High School of an
area of the Instituto Federal de Goiás. The tools to collect the data were observation, semistructured
interviews and diagnostic tools of student learning. The analysis sought to confront
the initial learning situation of students with one identified after teaching by problems in the
formative didactic experiment. The results showed that the privileged teaching theories
complement each other and are close in some respects: 1) Teaching must be focused on the
development of theoretical thinking of students; 2) Students should learn from research
processes and not ready conclusions; 3) The teaching and learning must provide active and
creative appropriation of knowledge by the student; 4) The tasks of the students must contain
problems to be solved through investigation, contemplating the existent contradictions in the
objects of knowledge. In addition, the qualitative changes in the relations of the students with
the concept of function have shown signs of development of theoretical thinking, as
advocated by Davydov and cognitive independence as advocates Majmutov. The
contradictions and limitations were related to low workload of math classes, with little time
for reflection, and the difficulty to dissuade students from individual study habit, transmissive
and passive, in favor of collective study, reflective and active. It is concluded that the teaching
structured with problems based in theory Davydov and on theory Majmutov, presents
possibilities for effective learning of mathematical concepts, particularly of concept of
function.
deve proporcionar a apropriação ativa e criativa do conhecimento pelo aluno;
As contradições e limitações estiveram

O processo de disciplinarização da metodologia do ensino de matemática / The process of disciplinarization of the Methodology of Mathematics TeachingFerreira, Viviane Lovatti 01 June 2009 (has links)
Since the first decades of the XXth century, it can be noticed the presence of a discipline whose constitution, operation and objectives are aimed towards the task of teaching how to teach mathematics. Historically, the discipline Methodology of Mathematics Teaching has appeared in the courses to prepare Mathematics teachers under several distinct denominations. In the years 1930s, it showed itself under the name of Special Didactics of Mathematics. In the 1960s, such denominations was replaced by Practice of Mathematics Teaching, under the form of Supervised Stage. In the 1990s, a new terminology appears: Methodology of Mathematics Teaching. Throughout such changes, the backgrounds and features of that discipline has been changing. The present work had as its main goal to understand the historical process of disciplinarization of the Methodology of Mathematics Teaching in undergraduate courses, searching the origin and the historical development of that discipline, identifying contents and methods proposed as well as the changes through which that discipline had passed. The motive in proposing and putting into practice such study came up from the need to acknowledge the epistemological status of the discipline, in order to understand its place in the teaching preparation courses curricula. As a research method we have applied the documental analysis (teaching programs, text-books, and official legislation), the oral history (interviews) and the study of the literature concerning the subject. Our work is greatly based on the theories of André Chervel, who has proposed and studied the concept of discipline in the school context, emphasizing the factors that determine when a field of knowledge gets institutionalized and becomes what in general is called a discipline. The process of disciplinarization has been carried out by a similar path to that of the Mathematics Education research area, presenting features of plurality of knowledge, constituting, at final analysis, an interdisciplinar discipline.

Professoras das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental e as orientações curriculares oficiais para o ensino de matemática: um estudo dessa relação / Teachers of the initial grades of elementary school and the official curriculum guidelines for the teaching of Mathematics: a study of this relationshipPoggetti, Liane Geyer 20 May 2014 (has links)
The present qualitative research was carried out between 2012 and 2013 with teachers who have worked at the first grades of Elementary School at a public school in São Paulo. Having as a reference the teachers\' viewpoints on their own practices concerning the teaching of Mathematics, the study aimed at discussing the value and the role of the concepts as well as the teaching procedures that are suggested in the official educational guides and the knowledge and the concepts which originate from their own history, including their initial education and experiences as teachers. It also aimed at discussing the role of the continuing education teachers are offered in the places where they work, which has as its main objective to prepare them to deal with the official orientations. The development of this research had the studies of Fiorentini (1995, 2003), Abreu (1995, 2000), Curi (2005), Garcia Blanco (2003), Ponte (1992, 1999, 2012), Nacarato, Mengali & Passos (2009), Canavarro (2003), Tardif (2010, 2012), Nóvoa (2012), Chacon (2003) and Sacristán (1998), among others, as its theoretical support, and the use of questionnaires and interviews as well as the application of a teaching case. Those tools for data collection were used as a means to gather the subjects\' concepts and ideas about Mathematics and its teaching, about their initial and continuing education, the knowledge that they favor, which one they put into practice, and the way they articulate the proposals and concepts of the official syllabus guides in that context. The results revealed some inconsistencies between teachers\' discourses and the teaching practices suggested in the guides, i.e. while planning and reflecting upon their pedagogical task, teachers emphatically presented concepts which originated from different sources - their way of being, doing, and understanding Mathematics -, independently of the official syllabus orientation they have received. The data also made it evident the fragility in the continuing education offered by the school as an attempt to help teachers reflect upon and raise awareness of their own concepts and of the concepts presented in the guides as well as to establish a comparative relationship between them so that they could transform and create educational moments which are coherent to the official orientations for the teaching of Mathematics.

Um retrato de aprendizagem em educação matemática: professoras dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental em processo de inovação curricular / A portrait of learning in Mathematics Education: teachers of early Elementary School years in the process of curriculum innovation.Motta, Cristina Dalva Van Berghem 16 March 2011 (has links)
This paper presents a study of relations between theory and practice in a context of curriculum reform, from the research about how school teachers of elementary school reconstruct their knowledge based on the work proposal with the Theory of Conceptual Fields presented in the Program \"Curriculum Guidelines: Expectations for Learning and Didactic Guidelines, established in the Municipal School Network of São Paulo City by Ordinance No. 4507 of August 30th, 2007. Through the dialogue with authors such as Fiorentini, Libâneo, Nóvoa, Pimenta, Pires, Tardif and Lessard, we demonstrate how the educational reforms of recent decades have influenced the movements of professionalization of the teacher and discussion about the docents knowledge. Then we present the Program based on the work proposal with the Theory of Conceptual Fields presented in the Program \"Curriculum Guidelines: Expectations for Learning and Didactic Guidelines\", and theories of French Didactics of Mathematics present within it, especially the Theory of Conceptual Fields, cited in several curricular materials of this Program. The analysis of the interviews showed us the entanglement of the teachers report in a web of interactive relationships, constitutives of the construction of docent knowledge: the life story of the teacher, the various sources of his personal and professional formation and his pedagogical practices. The teachers interviewed emphasized the interaction among peers, in school and in continued education courses as a privileged form of professional development and revealed challenges and dilemmas faced in the process of curriculum implementation. They also showed, by their counterpoint between their personal and professional constitutions before and after accession to the theoretical and methodological proposals given by this Program, a reformulation of their own conceptual systems.

Previous issue date: 2018-11-27 / The present work is the culmination of a project developed with the Professional Master's Program in Mathematics in National Network - PROFMAT, Campus UFG (GO). Its main objective was to study what changes we need to make in our classes towards mathematical research. The field applications were carried out in a 9th grade elementary school class, held in May, June and August of the year 2018. The research is based on the idea that the exploratory activities arouse the curiosity of the student and develop the logical reasoning, leading him to establish strategies, formulate his own questions, perform tests, becoming autonomous in order to build his own learning. For the development of this work, I opted for bibliographical research to understand more about mathematical research, allied to field research with the 9th grade students of the Municipal School Divino Bernardo Gomes, in the municipality of Alto Horizonte-GO, in order to verifying "in loco" the impacts of using this methodology in the process of teaching and learning. Thus, the work with investigative activities, despite presenting difficulties in its execution, is a factor that stimulates learning and the ability of the learner to develop transversal skills inherent in the maturation of criticality and skills essential for learning mathematical content.

Previous issue date: 2012-05-23 / This research aimed at to identify mathematics prospective teachers in their
conceptions and beliefs of teaching maths. The study is justified by the
understanding that the knowledge of such conceptions and beliefs can contribute to
the improvement of the educators practice, mobilizing them into new professional
knowledge which benefits their own undergraduates. The data collection instruments
were a questionnaire and teaching cases. Research participants were 27 students of
the last two semesters of a teacher education course in Mathematics from a private
University located in São Paulo. The authors who referenced the analyzes were
Fiorentini, Ponte, Shulman and Marcelo García, among others. The undergraduates
statements revealed that for the teacher to perform an effective mathematics
teaching, not only should he master the mathematics content but also he should
know how to teach, so that his students can learn. Moreover, undergraduate students
consider important that the teacher knows how to relate his subject with others. As
far as the degree course in mathematics is concerned, although the undergraduates
had evaluated it as a difficult course that requires so much dedication to its studies,
they are aware that this is necessary to graduate good professionals. In relation to
the expectations for the teaching profession, the prospective teachers presume to
find several challenges such as the myth that mathematics is a difficult subject that
frightens children, which impairs the learning of that subject. However, the
prospective teachers are very hopeful that their students will be well capable to learn
maths on the grounds, because they strongly believe that commitment, dedication
and patience will not give them up / A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo conhecer as concepções e crenças dos

Previous issue date: 2010-09-30 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / This piece of work had as aim to verify in which measure a pedagogical strategy
with use of several technologies, traditional ones as well as those ones called
ICTs, could promote the learning of concepts involved in rule of signs when used
with arithmetic operations. The people whom participated of this research were
students of a fundamental cycle s recover class with huge cognitive problems,
including difficulties with use of basic operations with integers. The methodological
approach, in an ample sense, used the principles of Didactic Engineering and
qualitative research techniques, as contents analysis, in order to analyze, by
Didactic Situations Theory perspective, the protocols produced by students from
three research instruments. The interfaces of these instruments were planned to
use pencil and paper, calculators and the Geogebra software. The pedagogical
strategy adopted allowed to the students understand the rule of signs and the
concept of the symmetric of an integer number, using it to improve their own
performance related to operations on integer numbers. Moreover, during the
investigation, the students could develop the autonomy and the capacity to reflect
about the errors made by them, which allowed rebuilding the strategies planned
earlier. More than simply provide answers to arithmetic operations, the students

A estratégia

Previous issue date: 2013-09-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This work is part of the research line Information Technologies and Mathematics Education and aims to analyze the contributions of a Dynamic Geometry software, in particular GeoGebra in the interpretation and analysis of affine and quadratic functions by the students of a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. For this, a research question was formulated: What are the contributions of GeoGebra for the study of affine and quadratic functions in a Mathematics course? First, a proposal was elaborated with nine activities to be developed in five four-hour face-to-face meetings using the dynamic geometry software GeoGebra. Based on the theoretical assumption of Raymond Duval s Semiotic Representation Records we elaborated and analyzed the activities. The research qualitative methodology adopted was centered on the Design Research aimed at improving the educational activity proposal to be applied to future students entering the Mathematics Course. The research was carried out with the use of the following instruments to collect data: photocopied activities, pencil-paper media, Screen capture software, audio-recorded semi-structured interviews and protocols of the activities developed by the students. After analyzing the data, it was concluded that possibly the visualization allowed by the GeoGebra dynamism attracted much attention of the students and had a significant contribution to carrying out the activities. In the end of this work, there is a new proposal of improved activities based on the results obtained from the analysis of the activities performed by the students / Este trabalho está inserido na linha de pesquisa Tecnologias da Informação e Educação Matemática e tem como objetivo analisar as contribuições de um software de Geometria Dinâmica, em particular do GeoGebra, na interpretação e análise de funções afim e quadrática pelos estudantes de um curso de Licenciatura em Matemática.
