Paes, Viviane Ribeiro, 1990- 24 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: Silvia Cristina Franco Amaral / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação Física / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-24T17:48:03Z (GMT). Assim, o processo de formação cidadã por intermédio do esporte educacional nos programas da SELJ, em tempos de megaevento esportivo compreende um cenário paradoxal / Abstract: Educational sport consisted of controversial ways in political history in Brasil, for being a large sportive manifestation, which involves either competitions based in selectivity and achievement of the best performance or projects which the goal is the sport's access and its democratization. As sports events are approaching in Brazil, the quantity of speeches aiming the enlarge and promotion of educational sports increases in exponential way. Therefore, thinking about the relevance of such event in the educational context of sport, and the reference of the State of Sao Paulo in attainment of the public policy for the sports sector, the goal of this study was to investigate and analyze the public policies of educational sport organized by Secretaria de Esporte, Lazer e Juventude (Department of Sport, Recreation and Youth) of Sao Paulo state, considering the context of the head of the Olympic Games of 2016. The secondary goals were: to investigate how the public policies of the educational sport of SELJ works, to inquire if these policies aim a citizen training and to analyze the impacts of 2016 Olympic Games in these models. This way, were used as a data collection tools, a semi-structured interview, field diary and documentary research. It was found that the educational sport on SELJ actions presents as double bias, in some ways adopting the predicates of high performance and another to participate. The citizen training is referred as the goal of the project of educational sport in the Department, however the initiative is not accompanied by the action programs proposed. The holding of Olympic Games in the country caused the worsening of new speeches of legitimation and pyramiding of educational sport policies. It was also noticed the immediacy and the increase of speeches and some actions to this segment. Thus, the process of citizenship through the educational sport in the SELJ programs comprises a paradoxical structure in times of sport mega events / Mestrado / Educação Fisica e Sociedade / Mestra em Educação Física

Orientador: Carola Dobrigkeit Chinellato / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Fisica Gleb Wataghin / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-04T03:39:35Z (GMT). This dissertation covers the analysis of the first events detected simultaneously by water tanks and fluorescence telescopes during the prototype phase of the Pierre Auger Observatory, between December 2001 and April 2002. For years several experiments over the world dedicated to the detection of cosmic rays collected and built a well established statistics for the flux, arrival direction, energy and chemical composition up to 1019 eV with the constant development of new techniques. It is a fact, though, that cosmic radiation over 1020 eV exists, a contradiction to previous theoretical results that immediately raises questions like which extragalactic origin they could have or how they propagate through space. The richness and level of detail involved in the study of such particles are synthesized in three parts in this work. The first chapter approaches cosmic radiation from its most likely sources and acceleration mechanisms, the effects to which it is subjected during propagation through space and, at last, the set of processes caused by the arrival at the top of the Earth's atmosphere to the ground level -the so-called extensive air shower . After this initial motivation, the second part covers the totality of what is to be the Auger Project in its final phase: an observatory that employs the two most successful techniques ever used in other smaller-scale experiments, along with the physics, mathematics and computational basis of the analysis and reconstruction of the properties that characterize a primary particle. Everything discussed previously is put into practice in the last chapter, with some of the restrictions at the time. The most evident is the operation of the observatory as a prototype, when only parts of one eye (set of fluorescence telescopes) and surface array were available. Another one are the codes available to analysis by the collaboration, in constant development in parallel with simulations. A complete analysis of the geometry and energy reconstruction of all events registered is presented and cross-checked with results from other collaboration members, giving a general view of the project's proposal for the future, its main aspects to be improved and which analysis tools are still to be developed. / Mestrado / Física / Mestre em Física

Stock market reactions to hosting the FIFA World Cup

Ramdas, Bijendradas 10 June 2014 (has links)
M.Com. (Financial Management) / This study was an investigation into the impact of hosting the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament on the stock market of the host country. The investigation looked at whether stock markets react efficiently or show a positive reaction to the hosting of the FIFA World Cup. Hosting the FIFA World Cup was assessed at two event dates: the announcement date where the host country’s winning bid is announced and the when the tournament starts. An event study research methodology was used to investigate the impact of hosting the FIFA World Cup on the stock exchange of the host country, by examining the movement of CARs across the two event windows. It was found that stock markets react differently to the announcement of the tournament and event start dates. The results of this study show that the stock market does not always regard the hosting of the FIFA World Cup as positive news, therefore resulting in either a positive or negative stock market reaction. Markets do however appear to be efficient and incorporated all information in stock prices. The test statistics showed a number of statistically insignificant results; hence the presented results do not support the hypotheses that the FIFA World Cup has a significant impact on the host country stock market during the announcement and hosting stages.

Anestesisjuksköterskans erfarenheter och agerande under ambulanstransport - en empirisk studie / Nurse Anesthetic´s Experiences and Interventions During Ambulance Transport - an empirical study

Skoog, Mia January 2018 (has links)

Trends in high peak flow generation across the Swedish Subarctic

Matti, Bettina January 2015 (has links)
There is growing concern for increased frequency of extreme events due to several severe floods and droughts occurring globally in recent years. Improving knowledge on the complexity of hydrological systems and interactions with climate is essential to be able to determine drivers and predict changes in the future. This is especially true in cold regions such as the Swedish Subarctic. This thesis explored changes in high peak flows and linked trends to climate. Trend analyses were applied on 18 catchments in the Swedish Subarctic over their entire periods of record and a common period (1990-2013) among the data to explore changes in flood magnitude, flood occurrence, mean summer flow, snowmelt onset and center of mass. Further, a flood frequency analysis was applied using the extreme value type I (Gumbel) distribution and selected flood percentiles were tested for stationarity. The results show the complexity of the hydrological system and interactions with climate. No clear overall pattern could be determined suggesting that changes are happening at catchment scale. Indications for a shift in flow regime from snowmelt-dominated to rainfall-dominated are evident with all significant trends pointing towards lower flood magnitudes in the spring flood, earlier flood occurrence and snowmelt onset, and decreasing mean summer flows. The shift in flow regime suggests that air temperature is more clearly reflected in streamflow than precipitation in the Swedish Subarctic. Decreasing trends in flood magnitude and mean summer flows are suggestive of permafrost thawing, which agrees with the increasing trends in the annual minimum flow. Long streamflow records can further link variability in streamflow to multidecadal atmospheric circulations over the North Atlantic. Most evident are changes towards lower mean summer flows (ten catchments significant at a 95% confidence interval) and earlier snowmelt onset (eight catchments significant). Trends in the selected flood percentiles show indications towards an increase in extreme events over the entire period (significant for four catchments), with all significant trends being positive. Over the common period, no pattern is notable and the sensitivity of trend analyses is evident.

An Assessment of the Effect of News Announcements on Stock Prices of Oil and Gas Producing Companies

Wright, Charlotte Jean 08 1900 (has links)
This empirical study is concerned with the extent to which news announcements affect the performance of common equity securities of oil and gas producing companies. The market effects of news announcements are considered to be of importance in resolving two issues. One concerns financial statement disclosure and the second concerns examination of prior oil and gas industry-related accounting research. This dissertation assumes capital market efficiency and addresses two research questions: do news announcements concerning activities of nonintegrated oil and gas producing companies affect the companies' common stock prices, and are announcements concerning nonintegrated oil and gas companies' financial, personnel, explorational, and developmental and operational activities used equally by investors in their decision-making?

Neuropsychologická problematika psychogenních neepileptických záchvatů / Neuropsychological issues of psychogenic nonepileptic seizures

Sobotková, Eva January 2015 (has links)
Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) are abrupt paroxysmal changes in behaviour, sensation, or experience that mimic epilepsy, but that are not accompanied by the electrophysiological changes typical for epilepsy. Their cause is psychological. An examination of neuropsychological correlates of PNES is therefore crucial for understanding, effective diagnosis and treatment of this disorder. The aim of our study is to explore a specific neuropsychological profile of patients with PNES, particularly cognitive impairment, early parental bonding and occurrence of selected life events during childhood and before the onset of PNES. We examined 38 patients with PNES and 38 healthy controls matched for age and sex using neuropsychological battery RBANS, PBI questionnaire and a checklist of life events. The results showed that overall cognitive performance of patients with PNES was significantly worse in comparison with healthy controls. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in immediate memory and language domains. Furthermore, patients with PNES recollected significantly more paternal control in childhood, more stressful situations, more opportunities for social learning of the sick role, more health problems in childhood and also significantly more troubles preceding the...

L'influence des coups de vent d'ouest dans le Pacifique équatorial sur El Niño : origines atmosphériques et impacts océaniques / The influence of equatorial pacific westerly wind events on El Niño : atmospheric origins and oceanic impacts

Puy, Martin 18 February 2016 (has links)
Equatorial Pacific Westerly Wind Events (WWEs) impact ENSO evolution through their oceanic response and strongly contribute to its irregularities. WWEs are characterized by episodes of anomalous, short-lived, strong westerlies developing over the western Pacific warm pool. This thesis characterize the atmospheric origins and the oceanic and coupled impacts of these events in order to improve ENSO prediction. First, we show that, at intraseasonnal timescale, the Madden-Julian oscillation and the convectively coupled Rossby waves provide favourable conditions for the occurence of WWEs and confirm their modulation by ENSO at interannual timescale. Oceanic simulation with idealized forcing further allow characterizing and understanding the modulation of the SST response to WWE by the oceanic background state. Finally, The role of WWEs in the contrasted evolution of El Niño in 1997,2014 and 2015, which exhibited favourable conditions for El Niño to develop, is explored in ensemble simulations using a coupled ocean-atmosphere model. It is shown that the stochasticity of the WWEs acts as a strong limitation for ENSO predictability.
