TITTLE: Perceptions of teacher training graduates studying technical and information technology or ICT in practice at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague (2001 - 2011) AUTHOR: Lucie Kubíková DEPARTMENT: Department of Information & Technical Education SUPERVISOR: Doc. RNDr. Miroslava Černochová, CSc. ABSTRACT: The thesis deals with two major subjects of research. The key topic of the thesis focuses on employability of graduates of teacher training programmes in teaching technical and information technology or ICT at the Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Prague ("PedF UK") in 2001-2011 and mapping of their needs of further education. The aim of the thesis is to present a complex survey of the development of the subject in relation to the degree of graduates employability in 2001 - 2011 and their needs from the point of view of complementary professional and pedagogical training. The theoretical basis for the solution of the problem posed by the thesis is the analysis of teacher training curriculums focusing on teaching technical and information technology accredited at the PedF UK in 1996 - 2011. The empirical part includes a questionnaire distributed to the graduates of these programmes the aim of which was to find out through a detailed on-line inquiry in which fields...

ICT: moderní zbraň proti vyučujícím v rukou studentů a studentek? / ICT: A Modern Weapon Againts Teachers in the hands of Students?Flekácsová, Katarína January 2012 (has links)
My thesis focuses on electronic communication between adolescents and teachers and the aspects of communication among adolescents with regards to their teachers. I used all the resources mentioned below, as well as my realised research. This theme has not yet been completely processed. As a result, I have aimed to create a comprehensive view on the function of electronic communication within the teacher - student relationship. This essay consists of two parts; a theoretical view and a practical view. The theoretical view consists of four chapters. The first two chapters deal with the specificity of the virtual world and its place within the lives of adolescents and how they communicate. The last two chapters of the theoretical view are focused on the school environment. The third chapter talks about relations of adolescents with teachers and relations among adolescents themselves. The final chapter within the theoretical view covers issues of virtual communication in relation to the school and education. In the practical view, I present quantitative public opinion surveys carried out in the 3rd class of high schools. The research focuses on the neutral, positive or negative ways in which adolescents use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to communicate with teachers and how they...

Role informačních a komunikačních technologií v procesu rozvoje chudých zemí / The Role of Information and Communication Technologies in the Process of Development of Poor CountriesKuklík, Vít January 2013 (has links)
The main aim of this thesis is is to analyze the influence of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the development of poor countries and to identify and clasify the particular mechanisms, through which ICT are beeing enforced. The particular resarched ICT are computers, internet and mobile phones. The thesis consists from two main chapters. In the first one is analyzed the relation between ICT and development on aggregated "macro" level (mostly level of countries). Based on the scientific literature, there are researched the general linkages between ICT and development, measuring possibilities of development and ICT and differences in use of ICT between countries. Part of this chapter is as well the quantitative analyze of the relationship between ICT and socioeconomic development. The second "micro" chapter is finding mechanisms through which the ICT in developing countries are enforcing. and which are the conditions of mentioned "macro" linkages. The systematic review of scientific literature is trying to clarify and uncover the relationship between ICT and development which is working on the micro-level of poor countries based on mechanisms between particular technologies and component particular sphere of development. Moreover of the two main chapters, there is also the third part which...

Be active or stay unattractive : Be active or stay unattractiveNaess, Erik January 2017 (has links)
Enterprises utilize information and communication technology, including websites, to market themselves and expand their businesses. However, employing this technology is not always a guarantee of success, especially for small enterprises. This is often due to limited resources and to the extent of having web skills present within the enterprise. Deciding who will design the website for a small enterprise is therefore of importance since a well designed website is a requirement to attract interest in visitors. The design of a website is also a main factor for the first impression to a visitor, a website that is visually appealing tends to give a greater confidence at first glance. This thesis is based on the interest of small enterprises considerations about what website design development characteristics and objective characteristics is generating more positive first impressions. To find this out, interviews together with subjective and objective measures of visual aesthetics were conducted to immerse in the aesthetics of small enterprise websites. The methods implemented gave variables to test in a correlation analysis. This correlation analysis showed that two web development characteristics had strong correlations with users' perception of visual aesthetics. None of the objective aesthetic attributes based on previous theories gave any strong correlations. These characteristics were therefore supplemented with other objective characteristics, which gave two strong correlations.

Assouvir la soif de l’innovation : modélisation de la diffusion des technologies mobiles / Quenching the thirst for innovation : Modeling the diffusion of mobile technologiesMedvetchi Dahan, Mariana 05 October 2011 (has links)
Evidence shows that information and communications technologies (ICT), especially mobile telecommunications services, can lead to sustained economic growth and human development. Mobile technologies are increasingly used as a transformational tool to foster economic growth, accelerate knowledge transfer, develop local capacities, raise productivity, and alleviate poverty in a variety of sectors. In that respect, in the last decade, ICT development has become a key strategic area for policy engagement in emerging economies. To support policy-makers and marketing practitioners in designing optimal telecommunications sector development strategies, an increasing research focus is now being placed on the impediments to implementing ICT solutions in the developing world. As a contribution to this field of research, this study aims at (i) identifying the economic and socio-cultural determinants affecting the capacity of developing countries to adopt new technologies and innovations, and at (ii) defining relevant policy principles likely to foster the diffusion of ICT solutions in emerging economies that are characterized by strong income inequality and uncertainty avoidance.

Organisationsförändring : en studie om medarbetarnas upplevelser av organisationsförändringar / Organisational change : a study of employee perceptions of organizational changesHöög, Lina, Bokefalk, Ida January 2016 (has links)
Change is a process that most people can relate to. It is also something that is considered to be inevitable for both personal and professional life. External and internal factors affecting organizations that want to change then affect the people within the organization. But how do different people react to changes? Does it acknowledge the fact that individuals have different perceptions and different reactions to changes? Whether a change is considered to be successful or not depends on whose perspective into account. Our purpose with this study was to investigate the employees' experiences of an organizational change within a public school. We hope to contribute to a greater knowledge of what employees consider to be important for change leaders to take into account the introduction of new change management. Also to be able to provide a wider theoretical knowledge on the phenomenon to change leaders should be able to use the information to help meet future change jobs. We want the study to answer the internal conditions necessary based on employees' experiences for a successful change process. We have made a qualitative case study and collected empirical data from semi-structured interviews. Our theoretical basis consists of research on various aspects that influence employee perspective, and together with our empirical material is the basis for our analysis and interpretation. The most concrete conclusion we have drawn from employees' perceptions of organizational change is that the emphasis should be placed on reaching a workable communication.

Bridging the Proficiency Gap: A Study of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Literacy of Nontraditional College Students in Accelerated Learning (AL) ProgramsBell, Dianne Marie 01 January 2009 (has links)
In order to complete degrees faster, many nontraditional students enroll in Accelerated Learning (AL) programs where they often use communication software or devices, also called information communication technology (ICT). ICT literacy is the ability to use ICT appropriately to solve information problems. Gaps in ICT literacy can frustrate nontraditional students and distract them from learning course content. Due to AL programs` fast pace, there is little opportunity for students and educators to discover and fill ICT literacy gaps.
Millions of nontraditional students enroll in programs designed for traditional students. Identifying ICT literacy gaps for students can help educators address specific academic needs. Identifying and bridging ICT literacy gaps is essential in preparing all students to succeed in the information age. While the mission of the National Higher Education ICT Initiative includes addressing the ICT literacy gaps of both traditional and nontraditional students, little effort or
research exists to date, which examines the ICT literacy gap of nontraditional students. This lack of research makes it more difficult for institutions to recognize the issue of nontraditional students` ICT literacy gaps. This lack of research also makes it more difficult for institutions to address effectively these ICT literacy gaps.
The goal of this research was to compare the ICT literacy gaps of traditionally aged students in traditional programs to the ICT literacy gaps of nontraditional students in AL programs and to help determine if nontraditional students in AL programs have unique ICT literacy gaps that warrant identification and remediation. This study expands the body of knowledge concerning ICT literacy gaps of nontraditional students in AL programs.

Axelsson, Sofia, Nadjie Golkar, Ami January 2016 (has links)
An ICT tool is not only used in healthcare as an aid for caregivers, but can also help enhance the care experience of care recipients as these tools can bring benefit to the recipient. The positive care experience can also have the opposite effect, depending on the quality of information conveyed to the recipient. This study deals with SMS reminders information related to the quality of the care experience. It examines whether SMS reminders within the health system contains sufficient quality information to influence recipients care experience to the positive. This study was conducted by a qualitative method of semi-structured interviews with both care recipients and caregivers. This is to get two different perspectives on the information and quality care experience – from a care recipients perspective as receiving the SMS reminder, and from a caregivers perspective that send out the SMS reminders. By conducting a literature review, we acquired material that formed the basis of our interview questions. The results of the study show that SMS reminders in the current situation does not contain sufficient high quality information in order to reach a positive care experience for patients. In addition to information quality, we have also identified communication as a major factor contributing to increasing health care experience. Besides these two factors, we could also deduce that health care consumers have different needs depending on the life situation they are in.

Activités TICE, interactions langagières en classe et cohérence des séquences d’enseignement scientifiques / ICT Activities, interactions in classroom and coherence of scientific sequencesEl Hage, Suzane 06 November 2012 (has links)
Our work deals with the teaching practice. We are particularly interested in the discursive coherence of knowledge in a “natural” physics teaching sequence in electricity involving ICT. The study is conducted at the grade 12 (Terminale in France) in science class. The case study is based on theoretical elements used in science education (modeling, semiotic registers, multimodal discourse and communicative approach), it offers some conceptual development (inscription: imported from the anthropology of science). The study also proposes methodological developments for the analysis of discursive coherence of teachers and of inscriptions, and the interactions between them.We have suggested a distinction of four types of discursive coherence in the transmission of knowledge (expansion, reduction, self-reformulation and repetition). We also distinguish between two types of the inscriptions made by the teacher; they complement the potential of the software used by the teacher.
