O drama bufo-trágico do calavera: uma leitura de El Ideal de Un Calavera / The bufo-trafic drama of calavera: a reading of El Ideal de Un Calavera

Fernanda da Silva Pereira 05 October 2011 (has links)
This investigation proposes to read Chilean writer Alberto Blest Ganas novel El ideal de un calavera (1863), trying to detect the narrative ambiguous constructions that point towards a tragic-comic perspective. Our point of departure is the romances explicit intertextuality with Letters from Abelard & Heloise. Abelardo Manríquez, Blest Ganas protagonist, is an obsessive reader of his famous homonymouss letters and aims to emulate the romantic story of the twelve centurys lovers throughout his own romantic search. However, this search carries in its center complications that surpass de mere amorous idealization: instead of love, we find a fixed idea that will lead him to death. Denying social conventions, the young calavera goes on trough the opposite side of nineteen century Chilean Societys path. His peculiar way reminds Cervantess hero, idealizing a dream in complete anachronism with his historical time and with the narrative style, as well. Within the Chilean context represented in the novel, the young protagonists feelings are satirized by the narrator for its unsuitable habits and ways. The protagonists desires disturb the conventional social order and because of this incompatibility, he will be condemned from the beginning of the book. In fact, the composition of his personality comes out of an intricate game that implies an ironic sense emerging from a romantic theme towards a narrative that pretends to be realistic. Along this path, it becomes possible to follow certain contradictions and incoherencies of Chilean Society from the first half of nineteenths century, presented in a problematic way, through the form of Manríquez young anti-heros bufo-tragic drama.

Francisco Eduardo Padula 12 August 2010 (has links)
Desse modo, o caminho percorrido conduziu à análise da reescritura da canção na novela de cavalaria intitulada Amadis de Gaula, na obra dos poetas portugueses Affonso Lopes Vieira e Silva Tavares e, finalmente, na obra da poetisa brasileira Cecília Meireles / By the study of some medieval topics, the current dissertation purposes to analyse \"The Chant of Loroneta\" by Joam Lobeira troubadour, the development of such a work led to the search for several interpretations given to the chant in different periods in iberian world history, in this view, the way followed was the one led to the analysis of the knight-errantry tale chant entitled Amadis de Gaul in Afonso Lopes Vieira and Silva Tavares\'s writings, both portuguese poets, in the writing of brazilian poetess Cecília Meireles

Sob o signo de Caim: o uso da Bíblia por Machado de Assis / Under the sign of Cain: the use of the Bible by Machado de Assis

Paulo Sergio de Proença 24 May 2011 (has links)
It is intended, in this work, to investigate the role that the biblical writings play both in the constructions and in the support of the main emphasis of Machado de Assiss work. Two principles constitute the theoretical guide of this investigation. The first is Bakhtins notion of polyphony and its unfoldings, constant in the terms intertextuality and interdiscursivity. The notion of semiotics contract (Fiorin, 2003) is the second. Other auxiliary concepts will be punctually used, such as the Menippuss satire, which will have grounds in authors like Griffin (2005), Sá Rego (1989) and Óliver (2008). Machados youth was characterized by a liberal activity of reasonable capacity. Charles Ribeiyrolles and Renan were decisive influences for the consolidation of these convictions. This tendency highlights the presence of the Bible, evoked as the source of principles that he defended. The prodigious work of fiction, since its first manifestations, bears witness to his great fascination towards the Scriptures, in several ways; one of them was the recapture of biblical myths, which acts as a link for the closeness between the native events and the plain day-to-day occurrences in which the resignificance of the mythical narratives take place. This look towards the past, guided by the Bible, suits well with the machadian emphasis in the eternal monotony of the human drama. Sapiential themes appear invariably diluted in the machadian writings. Wisdom has its place of prominence, with Ecclesiastes and Job. Also the biblical writings are applied to the reinterpretation of dear subjects to the human beings. This is done with the freedom of one who has a great fictional tact. Machado plays with words and expressions. He twists, contorts and distorts linguistics sequences and narratives, giving them a different brightness thus projecting new and relevant meanings. Machado, besides biblical themes, makes use of characters and several events, in a free way, to resignify them, almost always in dissonance with the religious and theological tradition. The bakhtinian theoretical support and the notion of semiotic contract fits with the analysis of this fruitful dialogue with the biblical sources, under the esthetical motivation of the crisis of the representation which is present in the machadian writings.

This dissertation examines the work of the mineiro author (someone who was born in the state of Minas Gerais). Milton Rezende and his poetic process. We have verified that intertextuality is very recurrent in his poetry, so an analysis of the concept of intertextuality has been conducted focusing on studies of Bakhtin and Julia Kristeva. Another characteristic of the poet is to use heteronyms to write the foreword of his books. We can see that the poems can be classified according to some cores that we have established, and we have conducted a study from this criterion on. Milton was influenced by various authors such as Augusto dos Anjos, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Fernando Pessoa and Álvares de Azevedo, but has his own style of writing his poetry. Milton Rezende is an heir of occidental literature produced so far. His poems usually re-read a theme highly esteemed to romanticism, death. His fondness for cemeteries, funerals and rites of death is combined with an approach to contemporary themes and a critical view of the society. He restates his subjectivity by bringing back the memories of his town and his family and talking about his emotions and feelings as a strategy to insert, in his poems, his social and political concerns. The author inherits influences from romanticism and his texts repeat and reinvent the romantic lyric. Themes of loneliness, love and death, that are characteristics of the spleen, are frequently recurring in his poetry, so the need of studying the spleen in Milton Rezende.

The present dissertation intends to analyze the resistance project contained in Nós mtamos o Cão Tinhoso (1964), by the Mozambican writer Luís Bernardo Honwana, through the literary perspective. The author, in writing the seven narratives contained in this anthology, structures his criticism of colonialism in the 1960s, present in Mozambican territory. Due to the publication of this Mozambican work, the writer Ondjaki rescued the textuality of Honwana and produced the tale Nós choramos pelo Cão Tinhoso (2007), making a mention of the Mozambican tale. Thus, concepts such as resistance, mimicry, camouflage, memory and intertextuality will be pointed out in this work, in order to guide the literary analysis of the narratives involved in this research. Thus, as theoretical support, we will take as basis Alfredo Bosi, Frantz Fanon, Homi K. Bhabha, Maurice Halbwachs, Mikhail Bakhtin and Julia Kristeva, among others. We will try, without exhausting the texts, to demonstrate how these textualities present a dialogical inscription, whose objective is to criticize the colonial systematics and the sequels it unleashed.

Em termos de implicações pedagógicas, os resultados desta pesquisa evidenciaram a relevância de se trabalhar com uma abordagem intertextual nas práticas de leitura em sala de aula com o propósito de propiciar o desenvolvimento de leitores críticos / Abstract: This research work is intended to investigate the importance of intertextuality in e critical reading of argumentative texts produced by a group of sudents who were conc1uding the elementary course at a public school. It is based on a Bakhtinian view of language, considering its dialogic and socio-historical constitution; it also takes concepts from Cognitive Psychology, Text Linguistics and Critical Discourse Analysis, assuming reading as a socio-cognitive-discoursive activity. Data were collected during a pedagogical intervention, a kind of action research, that aimed at building an intertextual basis which is believed to help the students to build meanings in their reading. Then, these data were compared twice: firstly, they were compared to some data obtained from the same group of students, in a reading task before the intervention; and secondly, they were compared to some data obtained from another group of students, who had not taken part in the intervention, in a reading task. The results show that the construction of an intertextual basis favoured the production of the critical reading of argumentative texts by enabling the students to aprehend the discourse gender, the thematic intertextuality and the socio-historical context. In terms of pedagogical implications, these results point out the relevance of adopting an intertextual perspective concerning the development of reading practices at school in order to construct critical readers / Mestrado / Ensino-Aprendizagem de Lingua Materna / Mestre em Linguística Aplicada

Le texte et la scène / Theatrical Rewriting at the End of the XXth Century. The Text And The Stage

Monah, Dana 22 November 2012 (has links)
This thesis aims at analyzing the aesthetic and cultural aspects of contemporary theatrical rewriting, starting from three fundamental questions: What do adaptors rewrite? How do they rewrite? Why do they rewrite? The different stages of our research are characterized by a constant aim at redefining theatrical rewriting as a hybrid practice, situated at the crossroads of a scriptural and of a scenic phenomenon. After having defined rewriting in the light of its relationships with related practices, we propose a typology of the techniques which enable adaptors to modify the fictional universe of the initial work. The analysis of certain marginal case studies enables us to further develop our definition of rewriting. The last two chapters aim at defining rewriting as new works which function as versions of previous works, as they look for their forms and for their meanings in the forms and meanings of previous works.

Intertextualiteten i nyhetsmedierna : En fallstudie om hur medietexters samspel påverkar framställningen av Polisens omorganisation i nyhetsmedierna

Wikström Viebke, Fanny, Malmer, Sofia January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate, from a dialogical perspective, what messages are conveyed about the Swedish Police Agency's reorganization in the big city press for a limited period in the autumn of 2016. Dialogical analysis provides a tool to not only investigate each text individually, but also to examine the internal relationships between the texts in our selection. The study answers the following questions: What image of the Police Agency's reorganization is conveyed in the media? How does the message about the reorganization of the police agency change by the interplay of the media texts? The result shows that different messages emerge depending on how the reorganization is put into context when different actors' voices and different content topics are highlighted. The results also shows several examples of intertextual relationships between the different texts. Intertextual relationships are shaped when a text uses information or quotes from other texts and puts it into a new context. This study shows how information from a significant news article about the Swedish Police Agency’s effectivity is re-used in other articles and how this leads to a shift of message. The method used is dialogical analysis and partly also a discursive perspective. This study, which emerges from a social constructivist perspective, contributes to the understanding of how media texts interact and the effect this have for the reader(s).

La memoria di Stazio in Claudiano : Commento intertestuale / La mémoire de Stace chez Claudien : Commentaire intertextuel / The Memory of Statius in Claudian : Intertextual commentary

Pavarani, Cecilia 27 June 2014 (has links)
The paper studies the intertextual dialogue between the work of Statius and that of Claudian, showing the most significant recurrences of Statius’ themes and stylistic features in the latter’s verses. Having ascertained the persistent memory of Statius in Claudian, it verifies the relevance of the allusions reported to date by editors and commentators and it supplements the critical remarks deemed valid with various arguments and in accordance with certain thematic axes of importance in both authors. Following intertextual research criteria and the classification of the parallel passages illustrated in Chapter I, the comparative survey is divided into seven sections dealing with as many themes: power in the mythical universe, power among men, the conception and representation of discord and war, the valorization of culture, the nuptial encomium, the image of the mother. The present contribution, apart from verbal coincidences which, albeit not casual, can be explained as unconscious reminiscences, explores the relation between the two poets in terms of the relevance of their texts to a stylistic-thematic koiné stratified in time, but above all in terms of a direct, creative and deliberate imitatio. Claudian’s texts are therefore presented to the reading enriched with reflections and meanings stemming from the example of his illustrious predecessor.

How Meta-Films Can Serve Cinema

Ghazouani, Anas El January 2012 (has links)
In my thesis, I analyze meta-films and different ways they are used in films. I try to show that meta-films can serve as a creative tool to communicate new and old ideas and stories. Whereas some argue that meta-films are the mark of the death of creativity and that film is doomed to be a parody of itself, I argue that this is not necessarily the case by showing examples of films that use meta-reflection and intertextuality not as a way to communicate their message. The first film that I am studying is Adaptation (2002) by Spike Jonze and written by Charlie Kaufman. It is a film that reflects at its own creation and process it took to make it. I move on to analyze Michael Winterbottom’s A Cock and Bull Story (2005) which was based on Laurence Sterne’s novel The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentlemen. I explore how the novel captures the essence of the book by not simply telling the story of its narrator but by questioning the concept of narrative and storytelling. The last film in my essay is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) by Edgar Wright. I analyze how Edgar Wright uses the structure of a meta-film in order to switch the focus from its predictable story to an exercise in paying tribute to a culture that the target audiences have embraced.
