La postmodernité est peut-être une époque de crise des humanités : depuis les années 60, l’apprentissage du latin et du grec est en chute libre. Les arts n’en continuent pas moins, toutefois, de recourir à la matière antique. Dans les arts à récit, c’est-à-dire à dominante narrative, l’esthétique postmoderne traite moins l’Antiquité comme une source de genres à imiter et adapter, à la manière des classiques, ou comme un ensemble de récits à parodier et transposer, à la façon moderne, que comme un corpus de textes auquel recourir pour pasticher les genres, déconstruire les récits, et notamment les « méta-récits », les grands récits à message, les idéologies. L’Antiquité gréco-latine y fonctionne soit comme un autre passé, un autre monde, païen, homo-érotique, à opposer au nôtre, soit comme un nôtre passé, impérialiste, sexiste, une origine des « grands récits », à laquelle remonter pour les déconstruire. Cependant, l’esthétique postmoderne n’englobe pas tout l’art de l’époque postmoderne. Les esthétiques classiques et modernes continuent d’exister pendant cette période. Dans une perspective classique, le péplum, c’est-à-dire l’Antiquité envisagée comme un genre, se déplace du cinéma vers d’autres arts (série télévisée, bande dessinée), se servant de l’espace-temps antique comme moyen d’évasion mais aussi comme matière à réflexion sur le pouvoir, le rapport entre dominants et dominés, centre et marges. La transposition moderne des récits antiques n’en finit pas, elle, de jouer son rôle pour mythifier le quotidien et démythifier l’héroïsme. Autant de manières d’aborder aujourd’hui l’Antiquité, non plus seulement comme ce modèle en crise de la République des Lettres. / Postmodernity may be a time of crisis of the humanities: since the sixties, the learning of the classics has been plummeting. Nevertheless, the arts have gone on using the matter of Rome. In narrative arts – in other words, arts where narratives are dominant, the postmodern aesthetic does not use Antiquity through imitation and adaptation of its genres, as did the classics, nor through parodies and transpositions of its narratives, in the manner of the moderns: it resorts to it as a corpus of texts, in order to pastiche genres, to deconstruct narratives, and especially “metanarratives”, great narratives conveying messages, ideologies. Greek and Latin classics function either as another past, another world, a pagan, homo-erotic world, that can be contrasted with ours; or as our past, steeped in imperialism, and sexism, an origin of the “metanarratives”, that we can get back to for their deconstruction. However, the postmodern aesthetic doesn’t rule all art in the postmodern era. Classic and modern aesthetics still exist during this period. On one hand, in a classical way, the epic, that is Antiquity viewed as a genre, spreads from the cinema to other arts (television series, comic books), and uses ancient space-time for escapism, but also as material for reflections on power, relationships between the dominants and the dominated, centre and periphery. On the other hand, the modern transposition of ancient narratives relentlessly plays its part to mythologize everyday life and demythologize heroism. These are all different, contemporary ways of dealing with the classics, beyond the mantra of a “model in crisis” within the Republic of Letters.

L'intertextualité dans l'oeuvre romanesque de Murakami Haruki / Intertextuality in Murakami Haruki's Novels

Murakami Haruki est probablement l'auteur le plus célèbre et le plus largement traduit de sa génération. Ce succès mondial, que la critique a parfois pu expliquer par l'occidentalisation de l'auteur, nous semble plutôt reposer sur une utilisation habile de l'intertextualité. Notre étude, après une présentation générale de la notion d'intertextualité, s'attache à déterminer les divers mouvements intertextuels chez l'auteur ; d'abord, en s'intéressant à l'intertextualité externe, qu'elle intervienne au plan microstructural, avec la référence et la citation, ou macrostructural, avec le pastiche et la parodie. Ensuite, en revenant sur l'intertextualité interne, également appelée intratextualité, si prégnante chez Murakami et qui structure son œuvre en réseau d'univers labiles. Nous verrons enfin que cette intertextualité massive pose question tant du point de vue critique, avec la problématique de la postmodernité, que du point de vue du lecteur, avec celle de la réception. / Murakami Haruki is often said to be one of the most famous and most widely translated Japanese authors of his generation. This worldwide success, which have sometimes been explained by critics regarding the author's occidentalization, is, for us, rather based on a clever use of intertextuality. Our study, after a general presentation of the notion of intertextuality, sets out to determine the various intertextual movements in the author's works. First, by analyzing external intertextuality, whether it occurs on a microstructural (with references and quotations) or macrostructural plan (with the use of pastiche and parody). Then, by analyzing internal intertextuality (also called intratextuality), which structures his works in a labile worlds' network. We will finally see that this massive intertextuality is an important issue both for critical (with the question of postmodernity) and reader's (with the question of reception of the works) points of view.

Atenção especial será dada ao uso da metáfora, visando a compreender as várias interpretações e significações que o texto possui e a verificar de que forma seu uso colabora para a coesão e coerência das diversas histórias dentro do livro. A análise terá o amparo intelectual das idéias de Martin Heidegger e Paul Ricoeur, dentre outros filósofos e estudiosos, e da hermenêutica, como caminho para a interpretação. / This essay will try to promote a study about the language used in The Hour of The Star, by Clarice Lispector. A special attention will be given to the use of the metaphor as a way of understanding the many interpretations and significances of the text and how its use collaborates to the cohesion and coherence of the many histories presented in the book. The analysis will have the intelectual suport of the ideas of Martin Heidegger, Paul Ricouer, among other philosophers and scholars and the use of hermeneutics and methaphysics as a form to support this analysis.

Antes de tratar de algumas odes específicas, um breve panorama pelos textos horacianos destaca diversas alusões às epopeias de Homero. Então, teorias intertextuais ajudam a analisar tanto poemas que aparentemente rejeitam a épica ou outros padrões elevados (como os Carmina 4.15, 4.2, 2.1, 2.12, 1.6 e 3.3), quanto aqueles que incorporam, de modo patente ou latente, diferentes passagens, versos, fórmulas e palavras das epopeias de Homero. Como um anexo final, uma tabela apresenta mais de quinhentas referências nas Odes à Ilíada e à Odisseia de Homero, coletadas ao longo da pesquisa / Abstract: Starting from Horace¿s Odes, this dissertation investigates the presence of epic features, mainly Homeric ones, and how the Latin poet adjusts them to his lyric work ¿ a process better defined as `modulation.¿ Before dealing with a selection of odes, a quick survey of Horace¿s texts highlights several allusions to Homer¿s epics. Then, theories of intertextuality help to analyse both poems that apparently refuse an epic or elevated standard (like Carmina 4.15, 4.2, 2.1, 2.12, 1.6, and 3.3), and those that frankly or evasively incorporate different passages, lines, formulas or words from Homer. These odes are divided into three main groups: the conflict of love and war (such as C 1.15, 1.17, 2.4, 3.7, and 3.20); the passage through the underworld (C 2.13 and 2.14); the poetry of memory and eternity, disguised as laudatory poems (C 4.6, 4.8, and 4.9). Interpreting the Scriptures using their own texts, was already a practice of the Jewish tradition, and can be found in the biblical tradition. Nowadays, theology lives in a phase in which scholars turn to this type of literary technique. The title of this research "The re-signification of the Decalogue in the pericope of Matthew 5.17-48", will make possible the use of this technique. In order to understand how Jesus made this re-signification, the following subjects will be analyzed: the community and the gospel according to Matthew; the pericope of Matthew 5: 17-48; the way Jesus re-signified the Decalogue through the antitheses existing in this pericope. The research will be of bibliographical characteristics and will focus on the investigation on the following question: can the pericope of Mt 5: 17-48 be considered a re-signification of the Decalogue? If the answer is positive, what is this resignification like? Biblical dictionaries, commentaries on the books of Exodus, Deuteronomy and the Gospel according to Matthew, commentaries on the Old and New Testaments, encyclopedias and articles of the internet, among others, will be consulted for this analysis. / A presente pesquisa contemplará a dinâmica da intertextualidade, envolvendo perícopes do Êxodo e do Deuteronômio e do evangelho segundo Mateus, todas referentes ao Decálogo. Interpretar as Escrituras usando seus próprios textos já era uma prática da tradição judaica, podendo ser encontrada na tradição bíblica. Na atualidade, a teologia vive uma fase em que os estudiosos se voltam para esse tipo de técnica literária. O título desta pesquisa “A ressignificação do Decálogo na perícope de Mateus 5.17-48”, possibilitará o uso dessa técnica. Para entender como Jesus fez essa ressignificação, serão analisados os seguintes assuntos: a comunidade e o evangelho segundo Mateus, a perícope de Mateus 5.17-48, a forma como Jesus ressignificou o Decálogo através das antíteses existentes nessa perícope. A pesquisa será de caráter bibliográfico e se debruçará na investigação sobre a seguinte questão: pode a perícope de Mt 5.17-48 ser considerada uma ressignificação do Decálogo? Se a resposta for positiva, de que forma se dá essa ressignificação? Para essa análise serão consultados dicionários bíblicos, comentários sobre os livros do Êxodo, Deuteronômio e do evangelho segundo Mateus, comentários sobre o Antigo e o Novo Testamentos, enciclopédias e artigos da internet, dentre outros.

A presente dissertação propõe o estudo da vida e obra da autora portuguesa Júlia Nery, mais especificamente, a análise de uma de suas peças de maior cunho intertextual: O plantador de naus a haver. Para tanto, é feito inicialmente um relato de como se deu o processo de pesquisa de sua produção literária, desde o primeiro contato com a peça no curso de Pós-Graduação intitulado \"A literatura portuguesa em cena\" (FFLCH-USP), até a localização da Autora, que resultou na reunião de um material bibliográfico que serviu de base para a elaboração deste trabalho. Em seguida, é realizado um apanhado teórico em torno da intertextualidade, a partir dos estudos sobre a linguagem empreendidos por Mikail Bakhtin, e das contribuições teóricas de Julia Kristeva, além de outros pesquisadores e lingüistas contemporâneos, que têm, ao longo do tempo, pesquisado e ampliado as diretrizes bakhtinianas em torno do dialogismo e da polifonia, além dos estudos acerca dos mecanismos que promovem a intertextualidade. Posteriormente, são analisados os textos paradigmas com os quais a Autora travou diálogo para criação de sua peça. Segue-se a análise do texto dramático, utilizando-se como instrumentos intertextuais, a paráfrase e a estilização, uma vez que esses mecanismos demonstram ser, de fato, os adjuvantes para recriação do longínquo medievo português, bem como da própria biografia de D. Dinis, a personagem central. O objetivo principal de tal análise é o de trazer à tona, elementos diversos que, constantes nas entrelinhas de O plantador de naus a haver, contribuem para a revelação do ponto de vista de seu Autor em relação à personagem principal, ao contexto histórico-literário no qual se insere, além é claro, de apresentar a sua visão de mundo. Como O plantador de naus a haver também é destinado ao ensino de Literatura Portuguesa, algumas considerações sobre a relação teatro-educação também são tratadas, a fim de se investigar o intuito pedagógico da peça, que, como poderá ser visto, propõe uma gestão criativa de seu conteúdo, a partir da interação entre o texto e seu interlocutor, por meio da expressão dramática. / The present dissertation deals with the biography and work of the Portuguese author Júlia Nery, more specifically, an analysis of one of her plays with the greatest intertextual feature: The planter of ships-yet-to-be. Before localizing the author, at the very beginning, it was made a description of how the research process of her literary production takes place since the first contact with the play in a course from an academic program named \"A Literatura Portuguesa em Cena\" (FFLCH-USP). All of this has resulted in a set of bibliographical material that was used to implement this dissertation. A theoretical synthesis was made concerning the intertextuality from the language studies that were undertaken by Mikail Bakhtin and afterwards some theoretical contributions of Julia Kristeva. Other contemporaneous researchers and linguists that have studied for ages enlarged the Bakhtin\'s bases around the dialogism and the polyphony beyond the studies above the mechanisms that have promoted the intertextuality. Subsequently, the texts with paradigms, which the author established as a dialogue in the creation of her play, have been analysed. Soon, the analysis of the dramatic text follows in this dissertation based on intertextual tools, such as the paraphrase and the stylization, as the mechanisms which are being apprehended like the main attributes for a recreation of the faraway Portuguese Middle Ages, even the own biography of D. Dinis, the central character. The main goal of such analysis highlights several elements that appear in The planter of ships-yet-to-be read between the lines, contributing to the revelation of the author\'s point of view in relation to the main character, to the historical and literary context in what the work has been inserted, besides presenting the author\'s background in a contemporaneous world being inhaled by her play. As The planter of ships-yetto- be is also addressed to the Portuguese Literature teaching, some considerations intertwining theatre and education are approached in order to investigate pedagogical purposes in the play, proposing a creative operation of its content from the interaction between the text and its interlocutor through dramatic expressions.

O estudo aqui proposto pretende atentar para a natureza da presença francesa na obra de Castro Alves. Trata-se da expansão da dissertação intitulada Projeções do romantismo pelas asas de um condor: a presença hugoana na obra de Castro Alves1, cujo objetivo principal consistiu em analisar, especificamente, a presença de Victor Hugo na produção castroalvina. Nessa nova fase, em decorrência dos variados procedimentos intertextuais encontrados, a investigação será conduzida aos diversos aspectos da presença francesa, e ao variado rol de referências literárias e culturais da obra do escritor. Para tanto, levaremos em conta os procedimentos textuais tais como epígrafes, citações e alusões, presentes em sua prosa e na poesia. Nosso objetivo é, portanto, realizar a leitura intertextual minuciosa dos textos selecionados2 com o fito de investigar qual o sentido das apropriações feitas, o que responde pela tarefa de revelar qual o papel da presença francesa nos textos alvesianos. / The study proposed here intends to look at the nature of the French presence in the work of Castro Alves. It is the expansion of the dissertation entitled Romanticism projections through the wings of a condor: the presence of Victor Hugo in Castro Alves works, whose main objective is to analyse especially the presence of Victor Hugo in the work of Castro Alves. At this new stage, as a consequence of the diverse intertextual procedures found, we have broadened the analysis to the several aspects of the French presence, as well as to the varied list of literary and cultural references which extolled the works of the writer of The Slaves. Therefore, we shall analyse the textual procedures such as epigraphs, quotations and allusions found in prose and poetry. Our objective is thus to accomplish the detailed analysis of the selected texts aiming to investigate the meaning of the appropriations used, what accounts for the task of explaining the role of the French presence in Castro Alves works.

The Relegation of Female Characters in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This essay examines how J.K Rowling´s tendency to draw on intertextuality creates a relegation of female characters in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2014). By examining the link between intertextuality and the creation and portrayal of certain female characters in the most selling book series in history, Harry Potter, it is clarified how the use of intertextuality relegates female characters to retrogressive social constructs of gender. The three characters studied in this essay are Fleur Delacour, Molly Weasley and Petunia Dursley. The approach used is mythological criticism, an approach focused on the search for universality in a multitude of modern and historical texts. The main concepts used in this essay are the archetypal woman, postmodernity, gender performativity, myth, and intertextuality. Judith Butler´s concept of gender performativity is combined with Graham Allen’s definitions of intertextuality and postmodernity to understand how and why female characters in Harry Potter are relegated. Evidence has been collected from published journals, books, and encyclopedias. This essay explains how relegation is caused by shining light upon the link between character creation and the myths that the character builds upon. J.K Rowling has used archetypical female roles, such as the siren, the wicked stepmother or the mother, when creating her characters, thus relegating them to past beliefs of femininity, such as the woman as being exotic and dangerous. By examining both myth and postmodern texts such as Harry Potter one can gain a deeper understanding on how intertextuality can cause a postmodernist text to reflect past notions of femininity that would be viewed as retrogressive in a postmodern and postcolonial society.
