The Impact of Personal Norms, Environmental Awareness & Ascribed Responsibility on Pro Environmental Intentions of Young Travelers in SwedenPerera, Samudika January 2021 (has links)
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between personal norms and pro environmental intentions of youth travelers in Sweden including the intention to involve in sustainable purchasing behaviors while travelling (IISPB), intention to involve in recycling activities while travelling (IIRA) and intention to preserve natural and local resources while travelling (IPNLR). Also the study aims to test the moderating impact that the environmental awareness and ascribed responsibility have on the relationship between personal norms and pro environmental intentions considered. Design/Methodology/Approach- The study distributed an online questionnaire among university students in Sweden employing non probability sampling methods of volunteering sampling and snowball sampling methods. Answers of 293 completed questionnaires were subjected to the analysis, employing structural equation modelling, muli group structural equation modelling. Findings – The results indicated positive and substantial relationships between personal norms and each pro environmental intention considered in the study (IISPB, IIRA & IPNLR). Both environmental awareness and ascribed responsibility could not be tested for its moderating influence on the relationship between personal norms and each pro environmental intention due to the existence of metric variance in the measurements. Practical Contribution –Considering the highly influential impact of personal norms on pro environmental intentions, the study proposes the destination marketing organizations across Sweden to address the moral obligations of young travellers to ensure environmentally friendly behaviors within their destinations. The study proposes to do this via implementing advertising and awareness campaigns, devised to activate the personal norms of young tourists. Value/Originality- This study contributes to the existing gap in tourism literature regarding the application of Norm Activation Model as a moderator model in pro environmental intentions of young travellers in Sweden.

GE UPP, STÅNGA HUVUDET I VÄGGEN ELLER HITTA EN NY VÄG : en intervjustudie om hur sjuksköterskor kan främja hälsoprocessen vid psykisk sjukdom / GIVE IN, HIT YOUR HEAD AGAINST A BRICK WALL OR FIND A NEW WAY : a interview study describing how nurses may support the health process during mental illnessBrunius, Åsa January 2017 (has links)
Intervjuerna spelades in och transkriberades. / Background: Research shows that there is a need for greater focus on supporting the patient to find an meaning in life and to accept life as it is and from that insight move on to new goals. Research also shows that mental ill health is a public health problem that leads to an increased risk of dying prematurely. It appears that the search for meaning in life, belonging and independence is important and crucial to the health experience. It appears that all people can develop and have a potential that can be made the most of. Influence and participation are crucial for good care and patients want to feel that they can influence and shape their own lives. Aim: The purpose was to describe how nurses in psychiatric care support patients with mental illness to begin a changing process with a view to a better mental well-being. Method: A qualitative method, with interviews of five nurses in psychiatric care. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. A qualitative content analysis with inductive approach was used for the analysis. Results: How nurses work to support patients is presented in three main categories: Relationship-building actions, Strengthening and fortifying the patient, The nurse as a leader, organizing and making decisions. Discussion: It is the nurse that is the tool, not the model itself. To meet as human beings as well as to build relationships that are the key to helping another person begin a change process and find new goals in life.

Shared Knowledge : An Exploration of the Use and the Design of Participatory WorkshopsMolander, Linda January 2011 (has links)
This master thesis presents an exploration of participatory workshops. It focuses on how these may involve a design project’s various stakeholders, and take the design process further by joint activities of mutual learning. The main concern addressed in the thesis is how participatory workshops may be designed and carried through, together with companies working with design. The aim of the exploration is to gain an understanding of the various steps of the design and implementation of workshops, and also how these steps interact during the process. The exploration is mainly based on the design and implementation of three different workshops: One workshop was designed on behalf of a design consultancy as part of the phase of concept, in an ongoing design project about cleaning products. Afterwards the team worked on ideas based on the winning concepts from this workshop. A second workshop was designed for a working team at a company of wood floor production, in order to identify what future steps to take. The outcome emphasized what the team needed as well as desired to be working on next. In collaboration with the same wood floor producer, a third workshop was also designed as a part of the company’s design competition. This workshop aimed to making the competitors share their personal experiences of the theme of the competition. The workshop resulted in a joint creation of understanding and knowledge about the company’s demands and desires of the new product. In order to broaden my perspective on the method, I carried out a number of interviews, for example with MiL Institute, who is working with management training and coaching, and with Ordrum, who offers training in communication. To support mutual learning in the workshops, aspects of knowledge and learning are additionally included in the study. The exploration shows the advantage of using prepared ambiguous materials as part of the framework of a workshop, for supporting divergent thinking; individual and collective storytelling; diversity of ideas; and collaboration between people. Additionally the exploration indicates that people’s involvement in participatory workshops may create more responsibility of the design, through the experience of a shared ownership of the process. Moreover, it points out the challenge of working co-creationally in design work, also through the design process of workshops.
