Musikjournalisternas roll i samhället : En studie om ett yrke i en modern tid / The role of the music journalist in society : A study of a profession in modern times

Renlund, Emelie January 2013 (has links)
This paper examines the professional role of the music journalist and how it has been affected by the expansion of the Internet. The study aims to examine  the profession's outlook and how professional music journalists are working to reach the public with interesting information, despite the fact that the audience of today often can be first to deliver the news. Through qualitative research interviews with three current music journalists the professional role and its development is examined. Based on theories and previous research on journalism, how the media communicates and its importance to society, what it is to be a music journalist and the spread of digitization and the impact of file sharing the results are analyzed. The conclusions of the study are that it isn’t a profession that is disappearing but rather a profession that is working towards a new future. The wide range of social media and the ability to stream music via the music service Spotify, for example, is expanding the field of music and more music lovers can make their voices heard. The role of the music journalist is no longer to be first with the latest in the music world but to convey information best.

Ohlgren, Sanna, Bergstrand, Sofie January 2015 (has links)

Too Many Theories Or Too Many Skills? The Perceived Impact Of Theoretical Knowledge Of Mass Communication Among Journalists And Public Relations Practitioners

Li, Ying 01 January 2009 (has links)
A national mail survey of 117 journalists and 127 PR practitioners in 2008 shows that a majority of journalists and PR practitioners are familiar with at least one mass communication theory; a majority perceive that at least one mass communication theory influences their work; a majority think it is important to teach mass communication theories to students; and a majority think it is important to conduct research on mass communication theories. Compared to journalists, PR practitioners perceive more influence on their work from mass communication theories. The results also show that familiarity with mass communication theories is a strong predictor of journalists' and PR practitioners' perceived theoretical influence on their work, and their perceived importance of teaching and conducting research on mass communication theories. Education has indirect influence on journalism and PR: those who have learned theories in school are more familiar with mass communication theories; the more familiar people are with mass communication theories, the more theoretical influence they perceive and the more important they think it is to teach and conduct research on mass communication theories.

Baccin, Alciane Nolibos January 2017 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is to understand how stories are being told in hypermedia reporting, considering Hypertext as theoretical framework, in order to elaborate features that indicates the specificities of this genre in digital writing space. For this purpose, we consider hypertext characteristics in order to suggest adjustments to journalism field. We also define hypermedia as a new media format, resulting from the remediation of all types of media, language and expressive mediatic modes that preceeded it. When it comes to reporting as a genre, we discuss the hypermedia reporting and identify the resources that strengthen stories contextualization. From these theoretical discussions, we elaborate our methodological framework that combines the specificities of journalistic hypertext (the typology of links, the multivocality and the navigation structure) and the pertinent issues to hypermedia reports, which we denominate the structuring axes (informative layers, communicative modalities and contextual variants). We select as an analysis sample three hypermedia reports: Snow Fall: The Avalanche at Tunnel Creek – The New York Times (United States), Filhos da Guerra: Quem é o filho que António deixou na guerra – Público (Portugal) and Crise da água: Líquido e Incerto – Folha de S. Paulo (Brazil). The study findings lead us to identify a standard in hypermedia reports which compose a profile of its own kind in the digital writing field. We highlighted some features of this profile: the hypermedia report uses narrative links as complement, to particularize, to illustrate and to detail the information; it employs multiple voices; it uses restrict reader participation; it uses a diverse navigation structure; it's structure has two informative layers. We also find that the communicative modalities are integrated with each other; the text is the key element that conducts the story; the story contextualization occurs using resources such as personification, databases, immersive language and long-form stories.

Etické kodexy v soudobém českém mediálním systému / Ethical Codes in the present Czech media system

Horáčková, Anna January 2018 (has links)
Master's Thesis focuses on current position of ethics in the Czech media. The main subject is the code of ethics (or code of conduct). The first part of the thesis offers a theoretical background of the topic. I am pursuing the terminology referred to the media ethics topic. Together with scholarly resources I provide definitions of terms such as ethics, morality and code of ethics in media. Summary of relevant Czech codes of conduct is essential for this thesis. First, I present the codes in a brief list and table, more detailed analysis follows. The focus is on differences and specification of each of them. After that I present an analysis of ethical rules valid in foreign countries - European states and the United States in particular. Theoretical part is followed by practical part of the thesis. It is based on interviews with experts which are semi- anonymous and semi-structured. I interview eight employees of Czech media after formulating several hypotheses. I chose experts who have been working in media for many years - mainly chief editors or top managers in press, TV, radio or online media. One of the most important chapters is the confirmation or refutation of the stated hypotheses. Based on the conclusion of the interviews, I create a universal code of ethics that might be applicable on...

Marknadsreaktionen av aktierekommendationer i svenska affärstidningar

Sjöblom, Niklas, Wiberg, Victor January 2018 (has links)
