Mobilní telefon prizmatem sociologie / Mobile Phone Through the Prism of Sociology

The theoretical part of this thesis intends to familiarize the reader with review of the results of recent studies of how a mobile phone affects individuals, communication and society as a whole. Space is given to the issue of behavioural differences between men and women in relation to mobile phones. The last section shows how big is the attention given to a mobile phone in the field of marketing research. In the research part, the author uses methods typical rather to marketing research, an eye tracking, RTA and interviews to do the research whose goal was to describe the process of selection when buying a mobile phone via e- shop and to point out the possible differences between men and women. Measuring eye attention of 50 participants in the age of 18 - 29 years (25 men, 25 women) showed that eye behaviour of men and women when choosing a mobile phone differed significantly, particularly at the time that respondents gave to particular information areas. The interviews resulted in further differences such as differences in the importance of different criteria for both genders or unequal level of independence in selecting the phone.

This work deals with the measurement of temperature fields in the air using an infrared camera. The dissertation describes the opportunity of measuring the temperature field in the air and the characterization of the developed measuring method. In the next part there are introduced the beginning of thermography imaging and the field of usability of the new infrared measuring method. Further, the theoretical foundations of the thermography measuring method in the temperature fields in the air are described. In the theoretic background there are described the analysis of heat conduction in an auxiliary material, the determination of dynamic properties of the method and the analysis of radiation, which has an influence on infrared imagining. This method requires an insertion of the auxiliary material into the non-isothermal air flow, which can allow for the study of the temperature distribution in air. For effective visualization of temperature fields in the air using an infrared camera, the selection of the appropriate auxiliary material, on which the air temperature displays, is crucial. In the next part of the doctoral thesis, there is a description of static measuring properties of auxiliary materials. The usability range of the measuring method is determined from these properties. In the thesis there are presented the description of the device for the measurement of 2D temperature fields in the air and the description of the measuring device for 3D measurements of temperature fields in the air using an infrared camera, which can also be used for measurements of temperature fields in small enclosed spaces through a viewing window. For the practical use of the method, the detailed methodology of measuring temperature fields in the air by an infrared camera was developed and its applicability was demonstrated on practice examples. The developed measuring method can be used in many areas of research and in practice.

<p>Detta examensarbete utreder avståndsbedömning med hjälp av bildbehandling och stereoseende för känd kamerauppställning.</p><p>Idag existerar ett stort antal beräkningsmetoder för att få ut avstånd till objekt, men metodernas prestanda har knappt mätts. Detta arbete tittar huvudsakligen på olika blockbaserade metoder för avståndsbedömning och tittar på möjligheter samt begränsningar då man använder sig av känd kunskap inom bildbehandling och stereoseende för avståndsbedömning. Arbetet är gjort på Bofors Defence AB i Karlskoga, Sverige, i syfte att slutligen användas i ett optiskt sensorsystem. Arbetet utreder beprövade</p><p>Resultaten pekar mot att det är svårt att bestämma en närmask, avstånd till samtliga synliga objekt, men de testade metoderna bör ändå kunna användas punktvis för att beräkna avstånd. Den bästa metoden bygger på att man beräknar minsta absolutfelet och enbart behåller de säkraste värdena.</p>

A Compton Camera for In-vivo Dosimetry in Ion-beam Radiotherapy

In dieser Arbeit wird die Bildgebung durch eine Compton-Kamera zur Überwachung der Partikelstrahlentherapie erstmals an der Technischen Universität Dresden untersucht. Die inhärenten Beschränkungen der Methode wurden durch Berechnungen und Monte Carlo Simulationen studiert. Im Zuge dieser Untersuchungen erschien der Raumtemperatur-Halbleiter Cadmium Zink Tellurid als ein vielversprechendes Detektor-Material. Zur weiteren Untersuchung wurde eine einfache Compton-Kamera konstruiert bestehend aus einem Cadmium Zink Tellurid Detektor und einem ortsempfndlichen Szintillationsdetektor. Das System hat gezeigt, dass eine akkurate Bildgebung mit radioaktiven Punktquellen unter Laborbedingungen möglich ist. Weitere praktische Beschränkungen der Compton-Bildgebung unter Strahlbedingungen konnten durch Experimente an einem Protonen-Strahl hergeleitet werden. Durch die experimentellen Erfahrungen mit der in dieser Arbeit entwickelten Compton-Kamera konnten wertvolle Informationen gesammelt werden, die erlauben, die Bildrekonstruktion zu evaluieren und dazu beitragen, die weitere Forschung hin zu einer klinisch anwendbaren Compton-Kamera zu leiten. / This work presents the first efforts at the Dresden University of Technology to study the feasibility of Compton imaging as a modality to monitor ion beam radiation therapy. The inherent limitations of the method have been studied by means of calculation and Monte Carlo simulation. As a result, the room-temperature semiconductor cadmium zinc telluride appeared as a promising detector material for a clinical device. For more detailed investigation, a simple Compton camera has been constructed comprising a cadmium zinc telluride detector and a position sensitive scintillation detector. This system has proven that accurate imaging of radioactive point sources in the laboratory is feasible. More practical restrictions of Compton imaging in beam conditions have been derived through experiments at a proton facility. Through the experimental work with the Compton camera developed in this work, valuable information was gathered which allowed to test the image reconstruction and to direct the further research towards a clinical Compton camera system.

The development in photogrammetry has created possibilities for new methods in aerial images acquisition. Remotely-controlled imaging from an unmanned helium zeppelin is a new and relatively unexplored acquisition. The purpose with this degree project is to evaluate the accuracy of this kind of low-height photographing system, a task given from the consultant company WSP, in Sweden. Landbadet in Uddevalla municipality was chosen as a test field for the zeppelin. Seventeen images distributed over three strips were acquired from the flying height of 80 m. The ground control points for the purpose of block adjustment and control points for the purpose of accuracy evaluation were measured with Network RTK. Block adjustment were performed in the software Photomodeler Scanner. Afterwards the control points could be measured photogrammetrically and compared with the reference measurement. The evaluation of the photogrammetric point accuracy was based on the differences between the photogrammetric and the GPS-measured coordinates of the control points in plane and height. The RMS-value of the differences was 0,040 m in plane and 0,056 m in height for the whole block. The difference in the point accuracy was partially affected by the base-height ratio and by the number of images used to determine the point`s coordinates. The conclusion in general is that the system has the possibility to be used for rationalizing the mapping work compared to measurements done with conventional aerial images acquisition methods. However a satisfactorily result is dependent on a well working video link, good base-height ratio and calm wind conditions.
