Johansson, Felicia January 2017 (has links)

Performativní zprostředkování a interpretace / Mezi návodem a dokumentací, mezi scénářem a záznamem / Performative meditation and interpretation / Between manual and documentation, between script and record

Helia De Felice, Jennifer Unknown Date (has links)

[pt] GUSTAVO DAHL: CARTAS DE UM ARQUIVISTA DE FILMES / [en] GUSTAVO DAHL: LETTERS FROM A FILM ARCHIVIST

08 April 2021 (has links)
[en] Gustavo Dahl (1938-2011), known mainly for his managerial work at the two major Brazilian film institutions: Embrafilme (1975-1979) and Ancine (2002- 2006), began his career as a film critic in newspapers and then became a filmmaker. This work focuses on the early years of this trajectory when the then young student, invited by Paulo Emílio Sales Gomes, publishes the first article for the Literary Supplement of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo (1958 -1961) and extends for the period of film studies in Europe (1960-1964). As a method, the analysis of articles and correspondence of the European period is favored, when Dahl had as interlocutors Paulo Emílio, Glauber Rocha, Paulo César Saraceni and Joaquim Pedro de Andrade. In the analysis of the articles, we observed the process of approaching the young São Paulo critic with the Young bossa novissimos, as Glauber Rocha used to name the group of directors whose first films gave rise to the movement. In the analysis of the letters it was possible to have a broader understanding of the relationship among Dahl and the young directors in order to emphasize the different phases of this process of approximation, from initial mistrust to deep complicity in the defense of the new Brazilian cinema. Through this intersection, it was possible to apprehend Dahl s strategic performance at the origin of Cinema Novo. At stake was the desire for the modernization of Brazilian cinema and its insertion in the artistic avant-garde of the 1960s, in consonance with the young cinemas of the period: the French nouvelle vague, the American independent cinema and the Cuban revolutionary cinema.

Senator Albert J. Beveridge and the Politics of Imperialist Rationale

Little, Leone B. 01 August 1972 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis is an unbiased attempt to look a Senator Albert Jeremiah Beveridge, a man who made history in his own time in his own way. Moreover, this thesis attempt to objectively present Senator Beveridge in the context of the era in which he lived as a generating force in America's colonial adventure at the turn of the century. Senator Albert J. Beveridge, a Hamiltonian nationalist by inheritance, believed in a strong central government. Furthermore, he believed that the end of government should be the gaining of power and material forces, redeeming the redeemable nations of the world and subjugating the inferior races under American law and American institutions, religious, political, social and economic. Reviving the spirit of manifest destiny at the close of the last century, after it had waned during the Civil War era, Albert Beveridge and other expansionists plunged deeply into the fight to build an American colonial empire.

Estimation of the Effects of Parental Measures on Child Aggression Using Structural Equation Modeling

Pyper, Jordan Daniel 08 June 2012 (has links) (PDF)
A child's parents are the primary source of knowledge and learned behaviors for developing children, and the benefits or repercussions of certain parental practices can be long lasting. Although parenting practices affect behavioral outcomes for children, families tend to be diverse in their circumstances and needs. Research attempting to ascertain cause and effect relationships between parental influences and child behavior can be difficult due to the complex nature of family dynamics and the intricacies of real life. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is an appropriate method for this research as it is able to account for the complicated nature of child-parent relationships. Both Frequentist and Bayesian methods are used to estimate the effect of latent parental behavior variables on child aggression and anxiety in order to allow for comparison and contrast between the two statistical paradigms in the context of structural equation modeling. Estimates produced from both methods prove to be comparable, but subtle differences do exist in those coefficients and in the conclusions to which a researcher would arrive. Although model estimates between the two paradigms generally agree, they diverge in the model selection process. The mother's behaviors are estimated to be the most influential on child aggression, while the influence of the father, socio-economic status, parental involvement, and the relationship quality of the couple also prove to be significant in predicting child aggression.

SKIFTBYTESRAPPORT - EN EMPIRISK STUDIE OM SJUKSKÖTERSKORS SYN PÅ INNEHÅLL OCH STRUKTUR I MUNTLIG RAPPORTERING

Hjortek, Erik, Kristofersson, My January 2010 (has links)
Samordning förekom däremot i mindreutsträckning i idealrapporten. / The hand-over is the nurses working tool for obtaining information on the patientsbefore their shift starts. A hand-over that is flawed within its structure or itscontent could jeopardize patient safety. The aim of this study was to highlight thenurses view of the content of the shift-handover. Five nurses were interviewed at asurgical department and the material was analyzed using a qualitativemanifest content analysis. The results regarding what the hand-over containedrevealed three main categories (patient information, organization and care) withsix subcategories. The results regarding what the ideal hand-over contained cameto be divided into the two categories of structure (with four subcategories) andcontent (with five subcategories). When asked what the preventive- and theenabling factors were; environment, structure, commitment and organization wasconsidered preventive – while structure, commitment and surroundings wereenablers. The ideal hand-over gave a more detailed description regardingbackground and planning compared to the hand-over on the ward. Coordinationoccurred however to a lesser extent in the description of the ideal hand-over.
