Identidade cultural e consciência de classe no capitalismo tardio / Cultural identity and class consciousness in late capitalism

Paulo Rodrigues Gajanigo 17 April 2012 (has links)
The study of the relationship between class and cultural identities produced a significant literature. This thesis looks at this relationship in one aspect rarely addressed. From the Marxist tradition, especially one that brings the Marxian thought an ontological approach, the determinants of the general relationship between class and cultural identities in the contemporary world (the late capitalism) are identified. Thus, the Marxist concept of class is revisited in the need to identify how the class under capitalism relates to the whole culture - which is here defined as the sum of mediations produced by humans. After establishing the general relations, we proceed to the particular forms of cultural identification in late capitalism. Here, the discussion of alienation and reification from Marx and late Lukacs is remembered. In late capitalism, the way everyday experience of cultural identifications seems perennial with cotidianização life. This shared experience becomes the basis for the naturalization of a reified form of cultural identification, on which a manipulative process (an anti-praxis, as said Sartre) overlaps the dynamics of the praxis. Finally, it is shown how this shared experience of manipulating identity is the basis for important theories of identity in social theory such as structuralism and poststructuralism.

Detekce výskytu účetních chyb a podvodů / Prevention of accounting errors and fraud

DOKOUPILOVÁ, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is the possibility of detection of errors and fraud in accounting. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate how the user of the financial statements is able to assess the risk of accounting errors and frauds only from freely available financial statements and other information. In this work are used selected detection models - Beneish model, CFEBT model, Jones nondiscretionary accruals and CFEBT risk triangle of accounting errors and frauds are used. In addition, Altman's Z-score was calculated. This diploma thesis is focused on the reporting capacity of financial statements for stakeholders and other external users because it has a significant impact on their economic decision-making. This thesis analyses the published and audited financial statements from the perspective of a user who does not have access to more detailed supporting documentation. The first part of the thesis is theoretical. This section describes the definitions, history, causes, effects and techniques of creative accounting, as well as selected detection models. These should help identify manipulations in the financial statements. Methods and analyses are described in the methodical part. The third part presents the results of the analyses, including their comments and assessments. Finally, it is assessed if the financial statements of the selected entity contain manipulated data, i.e. what is the possibility of manipulation of the accounting data. Evaluates the possibility of analysing financial statements by an external user who only has freely available information and data.

Godkänd i svenska? : Bedömning och analys av gymnasieelevers texter / Passing Swedish? : Assessment and Analysis of Upper-Secondary Student Texts

Östlund-Stjärnegårdh, Eva January 2002 (has links)
This thesis deals with the assessment of school texts by students in Swedish upper-secondary school or in the corresponding adult education and concentrates on what differs between the grades Pass and Fail. The 60 texts used in the survey come from the 1997 archives of the national test construction group. A questionnaire to teachers asks what criteria are most important when distinguishing between Pass and Fail. The five criteria pointed out are Holistic scoring, Relevant content, The connecting thought, Sentence structure and How the student has followed the instructions. The most salient result regarding grades is the difference between grades from the students’ own teachers and from the independent assessors. Ten texts have received a Fail from the student’s own teacher, but as many as 35 get an average Fail from three assessors. There is variation in assessment, but 18 Fail texts and 18 Pass texts get a unanimous grade. Quantitative analyses of the 60 texts show a definite correlation between grade and number of words. However, the Fail-groups among narrative, expository and argumentative texts contain both the shortest and the longest texts. School texts are longer now than thirty years ago, especially texts with low grades. Sentences and words have become shorter. Coherence is investigated by a method of reference cohesion. No clear difference between Pass and Fail texts can be found, but between types of essay topics. Also important is the organization of the text and its paragraphs, a factor which separates Fail and Pass texts. Various aspects of sentence structure show better results in the Pass texts. The thesis is concluded with a commentary on the demands of the last compulsory course in Swedish. The needed level is argued to be the ability to write for an unknown reader.

Metody kreativního účetnictví, modely a jejich využití / Creative accounting methods, models and their use

KLEČKOVÁ, Jitka January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this work is to formulate the most famous creative accounting techniques in relation to selected items of financial statements, including their impact, and further to evaluate selected creative accounting models. These models are used for detection of possible manipulation in reported accounting data. The aim is also to determine their potential as well as their limitations. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the essence of creative accounting. The second part provides an analysis of selected items of financial statements in relation to the creative accounting practices. The thesis also includes a case study that addresses the issue of the identification of manipulated financial statements. Financial statements are an important source of information. When the data contained in them are modified, they supply inaccurate and false information. Then this fact may have a significant impact on users´ decision.

Perceptions Of Cuteness And Beauty

Jones, Danielle 01 January 2009 (has links)
Upbringing and psychological make-up inspire individual norms for beauty and cuteness. The mannerist approach in my work is a product of the figural liberties found in cartooning, illustration and art history. By altering facial and bodily features, I relate the proportions of an infant to cuteness and innocence. However, I tailor the photographs to empower the subjects all the while mirroring trends in contemporary pop culture. I'm interested in themes of everyday life, vitality and emotion placed in obscure, imaginary or exaggerated venues. I fictionalize subjects of my reality to compel viewers to identify with and fancy emotions, circumstances, moods and relationships. The intent is to amplify, yet be truer to their existence and idiosyncrasies through figural adaptations.
